IT is stupid to wait to go for 2 until you "need it" because why find out that you might need another score when there is no time left? By going for it as early as you know you will need at least one 2 point conversion, if/when you fail at it, you now know you have to have even more efficient clock management. You always want to know exactly where you stand as soon as possible. By attempting early, they knew that they could go for the field goal two scores later. Had they waited and missed on their last touchdown, it might have been too late.

I stand corrected. The Jets are one of the 30 most interesting teams in the history of the NFL. When people bow their heads reeling off absolutely legendary names like Unitas, Elway, Montana, Emmitt, Sweetness, Juice, and Gale, you can bet your intelligent ass that they quickly follow up with "The New York Jets". Not the Packers. Not the Cowboys. Not Montana's 49ers or the Steel Curtain or even the Purple People Eaters and the Fearsome Foursome. Not the No Name Defense. Nope, they say, "The New York Jets". The dynamic, legendary, fascinating, and - what else - INTERESTING teams of them all.

I blame it all on Willie "White Shoes" Johnson. Even as Jet fan, I hated when Mark Gasteneau did his celebrations.

I’m here today watching this, because Vinny Testaverde is a guest at my job (catering hall on Long Island NY) and what a great memory he brought to us Jet fans that special Monday night game!
IT is stupid to wait to go for 2 until you "need it" because why find out that you might need another score when there is no time left? By going for it as early as you know you will need at least one 2 point conversion, if/when you fail at it, you now know you have to have even more efficient clock management. You always want to know exactly where you stand as soon as possible. By attempting early, they knew that they could go for the field goal two scores later. Had they waited and missed on their last touchdown, it might have been too late.
