Tom Brady’s first game back from that ACL tear the previous season
@Keith Cousins You're sauced up, all right.
@Ryan Irwin- Diehl actually that was the titans-steelers to start the season
To bad he's still not hurt?
Wow, I totally forgot T.O. was on the Bills for a year. So random.
Don't forget Joey Galloway and Fred Taylor in New England. What a weird year 2009 was for "wait, really?" guys.
Didnt you see last weeks bengals steelers one when he had the tocho show in cini also
Just like Randy Moss on the 49ers

I remember this game. It was crushing. The entire Patriots era if you were not a patriots fan was crushing.
Not if you’re a Giants fan like me who watched the BIG BLUE WRECKING CREW crush him in 2 superbowl or a Peyton Manning fan who beat Brady in 3 out 4 AFC title games. Smack talk aside Brady is the greatest player in NFL history, headlining the greatest era of NFL history(2000s & 2010s).
@@l.a.9056You got that right. I’m a Pats fan and those two Super Bowl losses haunt me to this day😭😂
@@brownbenplumm9027 No shit! I can't fathom the fact that we lost to the eli manning!

6 rings for the patriots in less than 20 years. Pretty amazing
Jon Gruden’s first game as an analyst on MNF. Honestly he should’ve stayed there.
Not kornheiser and dennis miller with joe buck play by play?
@Jack D Mowrer romo isn’t a mnf analyst 🤔
@Jack D Mowrer he commentates on cbs
@@adrianpena800 He might as well be. Calls games better than half the commentators in the game.
This aged well.
I remember my parents telling me to go to bed when the Pats fell behind 24-13 and I said "no way, you just watch, they're gonna come back!" Some things never change
They told me to go to bed at the end of the 3rd quarter. Oh what happened while I was asleep
I remember watching Leodis McKelvin come oh so close to kneeling the ball in the end zone, then when he picks it up n runs I scream out, "NO YOU'RE GONNA FUMBLE IT!" N we all know what happened don't we, lol
@@jvtherrien lol
This did not age well....
@@horationelson1840 in regards to last night's game, no it did not lol
Pats need to bring back those jerseys.
Same for Buffalo
@@chrisuncleahmad buffalo wore them 3 wks ago
I agree, but 90s Pats throwbacks are better than the red 80s throwbacks, in my opinion.
They can't because of that helmet rule BS.
I agree. But you must understand the red throwbacks are tied to losing season after losing season
Brady's first game back from ACL injury and of course came back from 24-13 in the 4th to win in the oddest way thanks to a kick return/fumble and throwing to Ben Watson. What a little known classic in NFL lore.
No sane person would ever think you could lose a football game like that. But the Buffalo Bills from 2000-2016 made you believe that it was possible
I miss that ESPN scoreboard!!! In 2009&2010!!!!
@Jack D Mowrer Ok yes you’re welcome!!!
Amen
Damn straight! Much better than what they use now. ESPN has the worst scoreboard out of all the networks currently. Too flashy and takes up too much screen space at the bottom.
"Tom Brady, you are Tom Terrific." - Gil Santos, former Patriots play-by-play announcer, may he rest in peace
R.I.P. James Hardy my little bro #84 for the Bills
Fred Jackson was legit back then!
From canada?
I think people forget how serious Brady’s ACL year was. Obviously we all know he missed 2008, but that thing got infected and then reinfected a couple times. There was a lot of talk/concern that Brady wasn’t going to be the same player when he came back.
@James Harden's free throw attempts Didn’t hear about that one
@James Harden's free throw attempts I didn't know that. Though the articles don't make it sound as if he nearly drowned, just a somewhat close call.
I think people forget that it even happened to begin with
@@dirty.dan37 I feel like at this point it’s mostly Pats fans that remember
@@waffles5433 true another thing about it that people forget is that it was the Patriot’s Super Bowl hangover curse since it occurred in 2008
This is one of the games why we call Brady The Comeback Kid
Because there was no other player worthy of it that year, right? The NFL spoon-fed Brady that award.
@@tevinsherrill4195 Spoon fed??? Bruh what?
Amazing job by Brady forcing the fumble on the kick off. Also don't think any other QB in NFL history can throw the ball 2 yards past the line of scrimmage to terrible wide receivers like Randy Moss and Wes Welker. Truly one of a kind.
@@tevinsherrill4195 59-0. ‘Nuff said

Ah yes. Back when the Pats had a real qb and not the ghost of Cam Newton
Back when the Patriots QB had talent around him
That hurt man

Racist
I miss Brady under center yelling “ Alpha go !” Fuck how long until we are back on top again
If life gives you Trent Edwards you don't take him.
I remember being completely exhausted at school the next day. But this was so worth staying up for. What a comeback!
Honestly, this wasn’t Brady’s greatest year due to his ACL recovery, but he did have great moments like this and the Tennessee game in the snow
Agreed. We definitely struggled this year especially getting our asses handed to us by the Saints. Something must have happened cause Brady was electrifying in 2010.
@@jcore0981 Defense was terrible, that was the problem. Offense was very good most of the year; defense cost the Broncos game, colts game, saints game, 2nd dolphin game, and texans game.
@@jcore0981 Patriots also had a 2-6 road record (one of those wins wasn’t even on US soil)
The fact NFL teams can't wear those retro type jerseys anymore really sucks.
Funny you should say that..they can now... Patriots red throwbacks coming back for the 2022 season
Only the OGs remember this was a madden moment in madden 11
I totally forgot Fred Taylor was on the Pats...
His last year
Even though we got crushed, at least I can watch this.,
Is it just me or does Brady still have the same velocity on his throws as of today compared to back then...?
He definitely does. I'd argue even better. 2009 was a rough year for us losing 6 games then getting blown out in the wildcard round. After that I think Brady had a wake up call cause he got better and better as the years progressed. At 43 he is playing at a higher rate then when he was in 2009.
@@jcore0981 Yeah 2009 was hands down the most inconsistent year under Brady/Belichick.
Love seeing the Pats wear the throwbacks, even if it's been ages since they've last done so.
Tom Brady won comeback player of the year that year
The biggest blowout on this channel is them vs the titans that year in the snow lmao i had him on my fantasy team
Ah yes, Tom Brady's big "I'm still here, and I've still got it" moment after the ACL injury in 2008.
Brady's 2009 season is one of the more underrated seasons for any passer. Man was on point.
Seemed kind of inconsistent that year. But when he was on, he was deadly.
Lol 28 tds and 13 bucks is a decent year there’s nothing underrated about it
@@matthewaleman4401 Coming off an ACL tear it was a really good year. Also 1st in DVOA% which is crazy.
@@SmugTomato Yeah, I recall he rated really high according to Football Outsiders' metrics. Nowhere else, though (QBR is unreliable in my eyes, granted).
@@LukeR.5117 That and some other metrics like EPA/play I believe. Saw one graph that had '09 as his 3rd or 4th best season which was surprising as hell to me.
2009 was right in the middle of a 20 year long nightmare for Buffalo against New England. The Bills went 4-35 against the Patriots from December of 2000 through December of 2019. This game was the 12th consecutive loss of a 15 game losing streak to New England at the time. Buffalo swept the Patriots in 2020 for the first time since 1999. The Bills might soon have their own run of dominance over New England and maybe even some postseason success because they are very good and relatively young.
Weird nfl season with favre on vikings and brady comin back
Had to watch after Darius butler just said on PMS that he missed 4 tackles on one play 🤣
Kevin Faulk was phenomenal on third down that season. Tom Brady is missing a receiving back like him with the buccaneers.
Now he coaching running backs at lsu and hitting the recruiting trail
Yes he was, but couldn’t get it done on that 4th down play
Well he’s got three rings so they I’m sure he’s okay.
Maybe Giovani Bernard that was a good pickup for Tampa Bay
Very good player!
James White was better for a shorter time!
Man don't put this bs here lol. This was the angriest I ever was after a sports game lol
Even as a Pats fan, I was dumbfounded by McKelvin's choice to take the ball out of the endzone on that kickoff. You almost _knew_ that he was going to fumble the moment he took off after hesitating for a second.
I put a hole in the wall of my apartment after this gem of a game haha
As a bills fan, man in the drought years there were way too many games like this. Heartbreak after heartbreak, and so many of those games should’ve been won.
Thank God we’re in new era of Bills football. Things are different now.
They need a playlist of just Mike Tirico called game
Gotta love the Pats and their six lineman sets
A all time classic
The team uniforms were great and all, but ....... *points to the refs's outfits*
*WHAT ARE THOOOOOOOOOOOOSE!!!!!!!*
2009 was the old AFL throwback year. Yes, from 1960-1969 AFL referees wore those uniforms. This was largely before color television.
Such a cool nod to the AFL roots. Not just the teams and field paint, but even the officials are in red and white.
Remember when the Patriots (Who were SB Champions that year) got blown out 31-0 against the Bills? (in 2003)
I think that was lawyer milloy's first game as a bill?
i remember the patriots got a payback later in that season against the bills in a shutout! oh and the pats won the super bowl that season to btw :)
@@halamadridpatriotsnationgo1057 didn’t i just say that

First.
Also:
1. Like others in the comments, I agree the Pats need to bring these uniforms back permanently.
2. Those Bills’ throwbacks were way better looking than those home/away uniforms they were sporting at the time.
3. It’s still weird seeing T.O. in a Bills’ uniform.
4. Some suggestions for future videos (if not already done):
- Bills @ Jags 2009, Week 11 - T.O.’s only Pro Bowl-worthy performance with the Bills.
- Cowboys @ Seahawks 2004, Week 13 - Jerry Rice’s last big game before retiring.
Nice. 👍
Definitely a top 10 game as far as Uniforms go
Lol but true
best throwback game ever
Trent Edwards came that close to joining a surprisingly long list of awful to mediocre quarterbacks that beat Tom Brady in New England. From 2002-2019 Brady went 113-20 at home during the regular season and 19-4 during the playoffs. Eight of those 20 regular season L's came against flotsam and jetsom such as Brian Griese, Sam Bradford, Jake Plummer, Gus Frerotte, Ryan Fitzpatrick, Kevin Kolb, and Chad Pennington (Twice). The playoff losses are just baffling. They were at the hands of Ryan Tannehill, Mark Sanchez, and Joe Flacco. (Also TWICE)
Trent Edwards almost beat tom brady
That Stanford education....
Almost doesn't count
1:49 Lol, Fred Jackson getting pounced on by Big Vince.
This is the first pats game I specifically remember watching
remember when everyone thought the bills were the talk of the town when they were leading the pats with like 6 mins to go?
And what does this have to so with 2020?
@@rodmoore1577I’m saying this in reference of the video
great game
i remmeber this game so vividly as the pats were the last team i needed in my 6 team square parlay
The funny thing is this was the second time in three years with a Monday Night game featuring the Bills with a 25-24 final score, a comeback and a wild finish. Whenever I think of this game, I also think of the Cowboys miracle comeback in 2007, and vice versa.
You should do one on week 17, 2019 Seahawks vs 49ers. The game had a division title at stake and ended at the 1 yard line.
Leodis McKelvin….. It would be 11 years before things evened out in terms of a costly fumble in this matchup (2020 when Cam Newton fumbled inside the redzone)
They wrote the N word with ER on #28 Lawn after this game
I miss those old uniforms
Brady looked ok in this game. A little shaky because of the injury though. There’s no way he goes on to win 2 more MVPs and 4 more Super Bowls after this.
McKelvin probably threw the game. Two fumbles on kickoff returns? He would have to be a total idiot to take the second one out of the end zone.
Those uniforms and helmets look so much better than the "New Coke" ones they wear now. All of the helmets/uniforms from the 80s/90s look so much better. Steve
The good old days with Jaws color commentary!!
I can say as a viking fan, I am no stranger to my team breaking my heart but man the bills really do find a way to lose in the most entertaining ways. Guess some things never really change.
Hope to see Vikings and the Pats in the Super Bowl this year! I have always liked the Vikings!
This season.was a disaster... I know they missed the playoffs in 02 and we're pretty rough in 05 and 19 but this is probably the worst Brady lead team. They still won 10 games and a division though...
Agreed. They at least won a playoff game in 2005 (January of 2006, that is).
Well, they were undergoing a soft rebuild, mainly on defense. Brady was still really good but not at his best in 09. Schedule was brutal. They were 6-2 before they blew the Colts game.
The 05 team had injuries on defense (Bruschi and Harrison)
@@LukeR.5117: If they win that game, they probably go 12-4 in 2009.
i remeber this i was so pissed at Mccalvin
Definitely one of Tom Brady‘s best games especially coming back from a torn ACL
Please don’t ever retire these red Patriots jerseys, even tho I hate the team I love the freakn jerseys
I forgot about Trent Edwards... He looks alright in this game.
i remember feeling sick after this game
This what probably sparked the Miami miracle.
Especially the last 2 and a half minutes
THIS WAS INTERESTING................
Being a bills fan is crushing
They wrote the N word with ER on #28 Lawn after this game
Their classic uniforms look quite similar, away or home..I imagine it can be difficult for a quarterback to clearly make out the difference whilst in the moment on the field .
Impressive Brady
That was the patriots this past Sunday week 7 vs the bills 25-29 baby
Fucking exhilarating, hardcore Pats fan, but the Bills, if there head coach at the time wasn't a moron took that timeout quicker, they coulda won that game, props to them for fighting to the very last second
The bills almost won that game it was fun
Cam Newton watching the kicker jump into the pile for the ball
I don't like how the current helmet rules make most of these throwback uniforms impossible to be used again.
They’re going to get rid of them next season, so hopefully we’ll see the likes of Pat Patriot or The Tampa Bay Creamsicles yet again!
@@johnpike7141 Thank goodness for that. Honestly I do love the creamsicle uniforms.
