that cbs intro is so nostalgic
Don't they still do that?
@@LukeR.5117 eh they play that music like once a game now but this intro is just nostaglic
So is seeing crowds.
🗣🗣🗣
For real. I remember first getting into the NFL this very season and always walking up in time to see my team play on this channel and always getting pumped seeing this channel with my Dad. Not a big football fan as me but got into it because of me after finding out about it.
The 2008 AFC East was a fever dream. Favre on the Jets and looking pretty damn good before getting hurt. Cassel filling in on the Patriots and them winning 11 games. The Dolphins running the wildcat and edging out said Patriots for the division while former Jet Chad Pennington wins his second Comeback Player of the Year Award. Madness.
Brett won his first game so will aaron
and the bills were shit and at the bottom of the barrel where they belong
Rest is Peace Tony Sparano
Damn. Forget that he passed. RIP
Was coach of the year that season, im sure Brady being hurt helped...
@@ericsigersmith6067 think the dolphins would’ve been good regardless tho
R.I.P Tony Sparano.
Brady being hurt made the entire season interesting
Hard to believe after this game that the Dolphins would be the ones winning the AFC East. God bless the Wildcat
More like God bless Benard Pollard for ending Brady's season.
Only because brady was out for the season 😆
Only cause Favre was playing injured after week 11.
Because Matt Cassell is a donkey and made mistakes he was specifically told not to make... New England should have been 13-3 in 2008. Instead Cassell blew 2 close games and they missed the playoffs at 11-5, 1 game behind Miami.
@@rudythompson7377 miami was 11-5 as well , they just owned the tie breaker from the division . Only year an 11-5 team doesn't make the playoffs .
Anybody else catch themselves reading the ticker at the bottom?
I always do that😂
ALWAYS do with these. Kinda of gives me a reminder of where I was in life
Favre's LAST Jets game was also against the Dolphins but with a different end result and a Miami division title because of it.
Brett's arm sure was something. Dude had zip on the ball without even trying.
and the crazy part is the zip was gone by the time he got to the Jets. Watch his Packer games.
@@dfacedagame 2009 says hi.
@@dfacedagameHe NEVER lost his zip
Favre was breaking receivers fingers with his passes sometimes 😅
The Jets should've made the playoffs that year
Had they not collapsed
If Farve just sat down with his injury
@@ChiefBlue4298 2008 was the year of Collapses.
Jets: from 8-3 to 9-7
Bills: from 5-1 to 7-9
Broncos: from 8-5 to 8-8
Cowboys: from 8-4 to 9-7
Redskins: from 6-2 to 8-8
Buccaneers: from 9-3 to 9-7
@@Phinal_Flash Yeah, it was insane. Though the Broncos were 7-5 before winning their 8th and final game.
@@LukeR.5117 Edit made.
Especially after the Cardinals game, the Jets looked like one of the best teams in football at the start of the year
Then the second half of the season happened...
They still would’ve lost to Pittsburgh in the playoffs
after they beat the Titans they were 8-3 then just 1-4 the rest of the way
Blame Favre and his decision making lol
Favre got hurt in the Seattle game
Only the Jets.
Brett’s time in NY unfortunately is only one year had it not been for the injury, but the Jets finished 9-7 on the year
If only he stayed for rex ryans glory years that could've been wild considering how good he played for vikings
@@giovannygallardo692 damn, the jets might have won it all
umm... he was simping for Jenn Sterger so no.
@@giovannygallardo692 it would have been a Rodgers vs Favre Super bowl in 2010
half football half baseball fields what a time to be alive.
That still happened 2 years ago when the Raiders were still at the Coliseum in Oakland. Kinda sad they left tbh I loved when teams would play football on a baseball field
@@jordan12118 me too and when teams played in the elements. Because more and more stadiums are building transparent roofs now.
@@shonhenderson4227 some are building roofs you can close and unclose so no worries about not playing in weather anymore
@@jordan12118 Those days are long behind us. No way you’d see that in today’s NFL. Weird to see the era of football you grew up on just be gone
@@NickTasy i remember the big pads and baggier jerseys and the defense being encouraged to hit thr shit out of offensive players.
Brett Favre on the Jets of all teams... and Chad Pennington playing the franchise that drafted him. Great storyline for week 1.
The funny thing is look who’s following suit . Aaron Rogers.
Imagine if Favre stayed with the Jets one more year, maybe he could have been the difference for the Jets instead of ending their year in the afc championship they probably would of had a good chance in the SB.
It would have been like Peyton on the Broncos, and Favre maybe could have won MVP in 2009
Favre vs Rodgers super bowl in 2010

08 was such a fun year literally from start to finish
I had no idea Favre's first td throw as a jet was such a DIME
I like this kind of maniac highlights, keep uploading, Throwback !
NFL Throwback keep up with the GRIND
2:12 that play action might be the best PA I've ever seen.
Yeah, did you see the way he switched hands and put the ball behind his back so quickly? That was perfection
Can't wait for A rod's first game with the Jets !
This didn’t age very well😞
Who is watching this after Aaron Rogers got traded?
Could you do New England vs Miami Week 3 in 2008? I think that's the game the Wildcat offense came to the NFL and New England had no answer for it
You would’ve thought they would’ve made Farve’s first Jet game a prime time game. Surprised it wasn’t on Sunday Night
Favre got traded in August, well after the schedule was released. Flex scheduling only existed at the end of the season, not for week one. And even if they could've flexed it, they wouldn't have, since the Dolphins were 1-15 the year before
@@OfficialJaguarGator9 Good point
Crazy how the quality looks like it was just played yest too.
Keep up the grind
can’t believe this was 15 years ago… as a diehard dolphins fan & 5th grader at the time, this was tough. especially the season before going 1-15.
that being said, you should post the week 17 game in new york!
This game was awesome 👌👏🙌😎
One of the most intriguing primetime games ever!
Favres first touchdown as a Jet was a beautiful play action fake and bomb to Coles. Bookended by a CLASSIC Revis game-sealing interception, I remember that.
What a time!
Damn what a great play action on that td
The 2008 season was one for the history books. A season of collapses and triumph.
If possible, I’d love to see 49ers vs. Cardinals from Week 5 of 2004 sometime this off-season. It featured a wild comeback by the 49ers and Fitz’s first NFL TD
Man how good was Dwight lowery for the Jets. Ill never forget his pick 6 on Favre Monday night football 2010 when Favre was a viking.
Now Aaron Rodgers is a Jet
The Dolphins (and Chad Pennington especially) would eventually have their revenge on the Jets in Week 17.
Yes they would Parcells magic I wonder if they would take Jake long again ???
Revis with the best play
The year you could tell that the Jets were building something good.
And boy oh boy, this Dolphins wildcat formation and its variations was such a trend for many teams later on.
throws at 9:01 are an example of favors arm speed, at nearly 40 he was able to do that over zone 1 into 2 with basically no space. imagine what it was like watching him as a Packer fan in the 90s....whewwww!
Not a jets fan but prime derrell Revis was fun to watch
Eric Mangini was underrated woth the Jets.He built a stacked team that helped the Jets make 2 Afc Championship games under Rex Ryan in 09 'and 10'
Great channel! Great work. Any Dolphin jay fiedler games??
These jets uniforms are so much better than the new ones
Also the same day Tom Brady tore his acl in the first quarter against kc and missed the rest of the year.
Chad Pennington was underrated af
Revis with game sealing pick before known as elite
I was at this game live so much fun
Why was the audio in the second half recorded underwater?
Brett favre was the Jets' Birthday present to me that year
His last jets game was one of my favorite games of all time
Young Revis 👑 when life was less stressful as a Jets fan 😔
What? This was probably the most stressful season in history. Historic collapse down the stretch. Favre was a catastrophe.
@@JACK102851 lol ah yeah I forgot about that season but I’m talking when I became deeply invested . So seasons 09-20
Between 2003 and 2019, the 2008 Dolphins were the only AFC East team to win their division that wasn’t named the Patriots.
That’s crazy to think about.
Weirder still, from 2001 to 2019, the only other QB to win the AFC East was Chad Pennington: on the Jets in 2002 and Dolphins in 2008. And I think due to tie-breaker rules in both cases.
The NFL needs to put the 2008 Dolphins Jets week 17 full game on UA-cam or at least some HD highlights.Gotta be more than 10 minutes long with ending. Every Flea Flicker, WildCat play must be included!!!!! 'scratches'
Man I miss this…
Favre always looked good in green
Not as a viking
We all know why Bret didn’t come back to the Jets 😂 😂 😂
The next 2 years the Jets were in the AFC Championship game with Sanchez. If Brett stayed they could have made it to 1 or 2 superbowls.
@@pizzlesauce 😂 😂 😂 😂 😂 😂
@@pizzlesauce you are smoking something seriously detrimental to your health if you believe that. Favre would have thrown a pick when it mattered because his old ass couldnt sling it.
NY Jets getting rid of Sanchez was a dumb thing to do. He wad the closest thing they had to reaching a super bowl.
@@rudythompson7377 I disagree. He went to the Championship game with Minnesotta in 09. He had what it took to get to the Superbowl. If he as a veteran QB stayed on those stacked teams the Jets could have made the Superbowl in 09 or 10. Sanchez wasn't lighting it up he was a game manager. It was ground and pound all the way with Sanchez going 14 for 26 for 150yds and a TD.
@@pizzlesauce Maybe.. But we all know Favre would have thrown an interception to keep him from reacging another super bowl. Favre will forever hold the record for having the most interceptions and the most game losing interceptions.
Who’s here for Rodgers?
The one thing I remember about this season was how the Giants just came off winning the Super Bowl and were playing good, and the Jets were surging in the first half of the season. A lot of people including me was hoping to see the Jets and the Giants face off in the Super Bowl 😂😭
4:33 Boy I imagine the news on the ticker at the bottom sent shockwaves through the league.
When channing crowder was keeping defensive coordinators like rex Ryan awake at night...
Time is indeed a flat circle
The two most underrated Jets of all time; Thomas Jones and Jericho Cotchery
Leon Washington extremely underrated too
Why is it that halfway through the audio shits the bed?
Does anyone else remember the GU for Gene Upshaw who passed that season?
I always wondered what the GU stood for! Finally that question has been answered haha.
Everybody talking about Revis but.... Did you see WILL ALLEN'S play? He was impeccable. Didn't allow a single catch by his way. Jesus, now I see why he lasted in the NFL all these years despite having abysmal interception numbers per year.
Brett Favre had a good day with the New York Jets against the Miami Dolphins on the road in Miami!!! I 🖤 #4 Brett Favre!!! Let's go Jets!!! J e t s jets jets jets!!! I love the New York Jets!!!
The play at 06:45 signifies Brett Favre's career.Compensating at the last min. The kind of plays that make you go.."--noo..NOOO...YEAAAA!!"
HOF'er.
This Jets team was really good, great running game, blocking, Wr's, defense. Favre's arm just gave out towards the end and also the coaching was terrible. Had Favre not torn his bicep they could've made the Super Bowl that year and if Favre had come back to the Jets in 09 they could've made it then.
Man I really wish Favre didn't get hurt half way through the season
You a real one if u had the wii madden with Jets Favre on the cover
The last time the Jets/Dolphins rivalry was significant
Joey Porter with the Fins. Kinda forgot about that
As a packers fan I'm glad favre ended up on the vikings in 2009 not 2008 or I think he would of won a ring with Minnesota but luckily my packers made the right move considering the situation
NFL Throwbacks are really cool because if your like me, you would have been learning to walk when this football game originally aired on TV lol
Well now I feel old, cause I was in 8th grade I think
Would you be able to do a NFL Game Rewind on Jets vs Raiders Week 7 ? 2008 where Jets lost to My Raiders ! 😎
How about posting Farve's last Jets game?
I was at this game. It was HOT that day
7:02 ref saying you know that was some bullshit right 🤣
R.I.P. Tony Sparano
7:00 to 7:04 peep the ref lol bruh couldn’t believe it to🤣
Revis just doing Revis Island things
Stands full of people, ah yes I remember those days?
Look at my boy Channing!!!
18 seconds left, 2nd and 10 at the 18 yard line with no time outs... PLAY ACTION!
Ronnie brown was a beast, alen faneca hall of fame now...
Back in the good ole days when the jets didn’t feel an all out blitz with the game on the line was the right decision to win the game🤦🏻♂️
THIS WAS INTERESTING................
Jets and the Dolphins should go back to these bad ass uniforms and, get rid of those hideous nike re-designs..
The dolphins uniforms look nice but not badass same for the jets
Better yet bring the Reebok uniforms back! They were way more crisp and shiny Nike makes them look dull
Can you do more Steelers highlights.
Thank you
If you asked anyone April of 08 Jets/Dolphins be CBS GOTW everyone would of laughed as they went 5-27 combined in 07. Fast forward 7 months later CBS GOTW. Fun season opener as a Jets fan and one of rare times D made a stop at end of game.
Chad Pennington got the last laugh lol
I was 19 year old in 2008
Put some respect on Darelle Revis name 🤲
6:44 why did they go for it on 4th and 13?
Jets went 9-7 that year and finished 3rd (next to last) in the AFC East.
but remember they started 5-1
And magini got fired
Who’s watching this after Rodger’s first Jets debut
You live by the gun slinger you die by the gun slinger. Jet fans got a taste of that.
5:34 : The one guy in the Eagles jersey
We ignore the fact Favre fired more coaches than almost every other HOF QB lol
Mangini had something going but Favre effed that up
Back when we saw hard hits shoulder pads cracking
13:40 Pennington with a dot
2008 was the year of the collapse.
Jets, Cowboys, Redskins, Broncos, Bills and Bucs all were in the driver's seat for the playoffs and ended up missing it.

As a lifelong Jets fan I remember the Favre years as being a huge disappointment. No one was so delusional as to think they were getting a guy in his prime that was going to set the league ablaze and lead the Jets to the promised land, but what we did expect was a QB that was going to be competent and that would always act like a true professional.A guy would would give us a chance to stay in the game even if we didn't win all of them. What we got instead was a guy who at times appeared to be fragile and broken down emotionally (that one was always hard for me to understand), a guy who at times looked as if he was just going through the motions on the field, and worst of all a guy that had turned into an absolute interception machine. Gotta give him his due--at least he never complained. After he retired and I looked at his career stats i was not surprised at all to find out he was the NFL all time leader for interceptions thrown.
