Tomatoes + carrots are my piggies absolute favorites
My piggie absolutely LOVES mint, basil, parsley and cilantro. She snacks on all the leftover stems when we're cooking, as well at the leftover sweet pepper, strawberry tops, and celery leaves. I think her fave sweets are raisins and cranberries. I'll give her a couple dried ones, but are really loves watermelon, apples and grapes 💕

Careful on the parsley. Yes, they love it, but it's high in calcium and you don't want your piggie to develop stones.

I cut carrot in smaller pieces because i have 2 guinea pigs so they can eat it also my guinea pigs love tomatoes and on the video piggies looks so happy

guinea pigs are not solitary animals so they should be purchased in pairs or groups. i have just got a couple of guinea pigs and they really enjoy each others company. they like playing with each other and when they are resting they are cuddled next to each other.

Loved the mini shopping trolley and basket. Seems a great way to give them their daily portion of fruit and veg. Could I ask where these are available from?

My guinea pig rarely eats greens, I’ve tried lettuce, spinach, celery, cucumber and nothing. Neither bell peppers or tomatoes. Only carrots, pears, apples, strawberries. 🤷🏻♀️ Basically sweets. 😅
Have you tried dandelion leaves? They can eat the dandelion flower too. This is something our piggies really love. Ours also love sow thistle. Just be careful with too many sweet vegetables and fruits - they should be given as an occasional treat or it can give them diarrhoea.

I'm glad you liked the video! We bought the basket from a local department store called Boyes - they have stores throughout the North of England. I think we bought the trolley from Flying Tiger, a High Street shop you'll find in quite a few towns and cities :) x

Hay is the most important thing and a cup of fresh veggies. Maybe you could try some other pellets. well, the first week, my guinea pigs didn’t really eat their pellets. but now they eat it in about 15 mins! you should just give them time :)

Keep up with the same fruit and veggies - a good balance and variety of the recommended fresh food is best and should supplement their diet of limitless hay and a daily portion of guinea pig pellets :)

I'm glad you enjoyed the video! :) Pregnant piggies should continue with a healthy balanced guinea pig diet but they can also have alfalfa hay. Be careful not to make any sudden major changes to their diet though, so just add a bit of alfalfa gradually but mixed in with their normal hay.

I was told Grapes are a big no ! Should I introduce it to them? I have two. My one loves oranges and the other one won’t touch them.
Grapes are ok as a very occasional treat and I would only feed one per piggy each time. They're really high in sugar even compared to most other fruits which is why they shouldn't eat them too often.

Just got a pair of Guinea Pigs. Do I need to buy special pellets for them or can they eat the same as adults. Hard to find young Guinea Pig pellets in the UK
They should be ok with the same ones as adults unless it says otherwise on the packet. Baby guinea pigs can also have alfalfa hay (not suitable for adult guinea pigs though). Make sure they have hay at all times as this is the most important food :)
yeah, my piggies have adult pellets. it doesn’t really make a difference tbh!
How much is a few though, and how much can you give at a time
They should have about a cupful of veggies per piggy per day. It depends on the fruit/veggie but with fruit, we would only usually give 1 fruit a day and not even every day and that would be the size of about 3 blueberries. We would usually give at least 3 different veggies each day so a little of each and we tend to give more leafy veg and less of the other types of veggies.
What if my pigs dont like much more than lettuce, carrots and corn? Mine are so darn picky.

Each guinea pig should have about a cup a day of fresh food and you can feed either all in one go or split into twice a day. Do whatever fits best into your routine :)

Bell peppers and lettuce can be fed several times a week. Which other veggie did you mean that was high in sugar? What's really important is that they don't get fed any vegetable in large quantities - a good variety of different veggies and vary it as much each day as possible :)
I want a guinea people, my mom PUTS apples EVERYWHERE BY NOW WE GOT LIKE 100 apples in our house, I have a question, does the apples HAS to be fresh or left for two days or five days?
They can't have too much apple. Just a small piece every now and again as it is high in sugar. They should be fresh but apples tend to last well.

My guinea pig won’t eat carrots nor freeze dries fruits I give her, she’ll only eat her pellets and hay but that’s at night, should I put veggies/fruit in her bowl of pellets at night to see if she’ll eat it?.
It might be she doesn't like carrots - have you tried Romaine lettuce, kale, coriander (cilantro), basil, mint, dill?

It depends on the food. The seeds and insides of a pepper and tomato are find for them though.

Every day - about an eighth of a cup per guinea pig.

Carrot and cucumber every day are ok but only if you feed small amounts and mixed in with leafy green veg. But spinach is very high in oxalates and can lead to bladder stones if fed too often so only feed this occasionally. Can guinea pigs have watermelon seeds?
Watermelon seeds aren't safe for guinea pigs so remove these before feeding watermelon to your piggies. Just a very small chunk of watermelon is advisable as too much will give them diarrhoea. And don't feed too often as any fruit should be regarded as an occasional treat for your piggies :)
But what to do if they don't want to eat anything except lettuce, parsley, dill and celery?
