The dislikes are the people who lost against takumi
So that’s why there’s over 200
@@Trig. i think also the futre rivals when he joined the subaru racing team
why would you dislike
Nice one 😂
Most people who lost to Takumi learned to respect him. Even Shingo.
Mad respect for bringing that 86 back from the dead! I'm glad that people are willing to keep these old cars alive so that they will not be reduced to memories
Thank you for a comment!
I know he is a LEGEND
I have same nb!

Dang, that's a ton of work from top to bottom, great work 👍👍👍.
Respect young man. Fitting that BEAMS engine in there and wiring it to make it work almost eclipses the rest of the work done. Amazing.
adding that engine in there probably completely ruined the 86's original weight distribution balance, the insane balance of this car was what made it famous, not some hulking huge engine. Cusco's Type-MZ Cone Spring-type Limited Slip Differential is what made the Toyota Corolla / Sprinter Trueno AE86 a god among men. if they were loyal to its roots they would have tried to source the 1.6 L 4A-C I4 SOHC Engine of the original 86, or at the very least searched for a comparable engine with similar horsepower and more importantly weight.
edit: in the anime Takumi's AE86 originally had an aftermarket 1.6L 16 valve Bluetop 4A-GEU
that was near the end of its life, it was later replaced by a 1.6L 20 valve Silvertop 4A-GEU
@@chloekaftan yeah but he didn’t so oh well.
🤙🤙👊
@@chloekaftan 4A-GEs tend to be around 230lbs stock, and a stock 3S-GE is around 320lbs. The “giant hulking motor” you’re referring to would be the dude that LS Swaps a 86, not someone who was willing to sacrifice a bit of weight to get a more consistent power-builder. Also, did you forget that ripping the interior and seats out also changes the weight too? Its most likely comparable or at the very least close. Most people would take the 2-3% decrease in balance to be able to get that extra power.
TDLR: he built his car to how he likes it, and if you don’t like it, then build your own.
@@chloekaftan Why don't you tell everyone you don't know shit about cars while spouting useless information.

I find them ugly (except the countach, it’s beautiful)
I am exceptionally jealous/in awe of those who have the skill, knowledge, time, money, tools and space to take on a project like this.
As a 16 year old teen me, it's really impressive and satisfying to see you bring back an 86 from the grave.
This is actually filmed in real time, he was possessed by the car to bring it into this mortal realm once more.

Later:

It was once said "you don't drive that car, it drives you" I take it the spirit of the trueno never dies
@Kwality Hunter nah he just had some eurobeat playin and that already makes you 25% faster

Saw your car today at Hanger Hangover. Absolutely beautiful and such a great tribute to Initial D.
Thank you for your support! That was a really nice car show!

And i buy my self ae86 at my house but is black version no white :D
@@yinyinchai3335 i would suggest you getting either Mazda MX-5 or s2000, considering the expensive tuning/modifications needed to make ae86 good for racing
this man is not a regular man
19:56 You caught me off-guard when “Forever Young” started playing at the same time the pop-up headlights turned on. That got me emotional. Thank you from Portugal🇵🇹
JESUS, this guy is the true epitome of sheer will and fucking determination. I can't really imagine the feelings you must have from all those 6 months you spent working on this car, but the feelings in the end finishing up the car must be amazing. Congratulations dude, you will be forever pegged as a legend in your family and to us on the Internet.
I watched the whole video and can't even imagine how you gathered the strength to finish it. I have a lot to learn from you man.
It wasn't easy for sure, some days it seemed like I made a mistake by starting it, but then I was thinking of how cool would it be to drive and kept pushing
@@NickyChicks how much did it cost, im 15 and am hoping to own an 86 when i get my license haha
@@dylanknott2353 It depends on where you live, here in Spain very few ae86 were sold and so it is really hard to find one, and if you find it, it is at least 20k. I think it is easier to find them in the US, but i'm speaking from ignorance. Good luck finding one in the future!
@@davidf.2930 thank you haha
@@dylanknott2353 unless you have 10-15k you wont get one, even then they need alot of work. You might get lucky and find an old guy selling one thinking its just a normal corolla
Your passion and dedication is inspiring. From nothing but a shell, to a functional vehicle. Thank you for keeping motor history alive.
I am in awe at your skill and what you accomplished. 6 months is crazy. The feeling of pride at accomplishing this is something you will cherish forever. You literally rebuilt the entire car. Now please come help me finish my FD, PLEASE! 🙏
This is basically building a car from scratch, its so impressive! Awesome!
HOW could someone dislike this? Huge respect to you man. Great job with this. you did amazing
Thx ^_^
You know, at some point, someone had to have given up on this. From a logical standpoint, nobody was ever going to put the effort in to make this drivable again. In the best case scenario, it becomes scraps for other Truenos. But then you did THIS.
It blew my mind to see someone put up so much hard work because someone draw a manga with a AE86 in it. This world is beautiful.
The car is expensive now a days.

I'm currently trying to restore a 1994 Toyota Marino myself. Previous owner drove it well, but its parking was next to his home, in the rain. So most of the damage is rust-related. Engine and gearbox is A-ok, but it's just stuff like the headlights, front bumper and wiper-lever/switch, and other minor stuff like that that's hard to get for me. Also slight bodywork. Plus I have a limited capital so I'm doing what I can.
But seeing vidz, especially like this really get my hopes up back on track. A piece of art indeed 👌
I did this with my FC almost 15 years ago now. You seem a lot more patient than I was back then.
As you finish school and start working, you will have more money and the car gets it's 2nd, 3rd, 4th life.
This pleases me deeply, the ae86 is my dream car and to see you work this hard to make it not only work but look absolutely beautiful is nice. Keep up the good work
Literal 86. Same engine used in initial D animé movie.
Salute to you bro... So full of talent. Restoring this car piece by piece is not easy.
I can’t imagine how long this must’ve taken, I have mad respect for you for doing this… I’ve been saving money since I was a kid to get one of these and seeing how cool this is just makes me want to save more
6 months
Dude doing this much and while attending university must have been super busy. Massive respect to you and hope you feel rewarded/enjoy everytime you take this beauty out for a spin :)
A time lapse with actual eurobeat😱
Props to you for also keeping your eyes on the prize and pushing through with all of this. I'm sure you had times when you were feeling beaten down, that it all felt out of reach, too big of a job, or too much to handle. You're a champion.
This is not restoration, it is straight necromancy. You are awesome, great work.
Amazing what people can achieve when they have the will to succeed.
You guys deserve a bunch of likes and views
he stood determined to teleport around so he can bring this car back to life. respect.
this is exactly what i love to see no annoying dubstep or overly hyped frat boys or stupid vlog style camera angles just a man in his garage with his car with more love and work than anyone has ever put into a lambo
People with their electric and flying cars will never understand why we LOVE the 86 that much! Even in the future and Cyberpunk years!
Holy shitttt one of my dreams to do one day is to restore a car. You got my respect brotha I’m astonished!!!!!
This has got to be one of the biggest transformations I've seen on a car ever, hats off to you guys!
The most beautiful thing I've seen in a long time. Too good at doing everything at home, welding, electrical, supports, painting, everything from 0. You brought a great machine back to life. I would like to ask you many things, I'm very curious.
I have mad respect for this build, man I was at 19:42 and said nooo it's already over! It's beautiful!
Buddy, I really appreciate the work that went into all this, and I have to say: Good work my friend, I can only hope one day I have to tools and knowledge to do something like this. But for now I'll live vicariously through you haha

Crazy good work on this, must have been pretty nerve racking to cut pieces out lol. Would really like to get one of these some day but prices here in Ireland are crazy.
Thx! I am sure there is a hachiroku somewhere out there in a barn forgotten long time ago waiting for you :)
Never have I ever respected anyone as I respect you, bro
I appreciate it
Absolutely awesome build. I drive a st202 with the redtop and knowing how hard parts are to find it is so much more impressive that you overcame some of those long searches by creating them yourself. Major respect for that. I wish to find a 86 one day!
i hear when the sun goes down, i hit like. alright that's a productive 21 minutes in my life. good job guys!!
This is by far the craziest self-build I've seen. Mad respect for your time, sweat and effort 👍
What an absolute madman! The sheer grit and determination needed to pull this off
This video really just encouraged me to get a project car for myself, mad respect for seeing life in this AE86 where no one else would
I really thought the process of building this crazy masterpiece would took more than at least a year...
I wish i had time, money, a wrecked 86 and the knowledge to fix it .... Great work!
Beautiful, I was honestly somewhat expecting a RHD conversion but after seeing how much work was put in that would have been too much more work. Amazing result.
I have no idea what's ahppening, but it's so mesmerizing...Can't stop watching this
I finally finished Initial D last night and this is the first thing that youtube recommends me. People like you keep the Dream in D alive. You are amazing
I don't even know cars that well and this is easily the best thing I've watched today
I appricate this video so much gald to know that theres people out there that care about this car as much as I do
I think the best for me was hearing it start up. That was pure music. Excellent video.
Holy... That is SO MUCH EFFORT! Whenever I thought "well, now he is just going to assemble x and y then it's nearly done", they redid everything to the smallest detail, until it fit perfectly like it just came off the factory line.
Facebook marketplace would charge me 12k “I know what I’ve got” for that shell no doubt. Gorgeous car, good sir. ❤️
I've had this video in my watch later playlist for a year and a half. So glad I watched it. The video did not disappoint.
MAD RESPECT bro KEEP IT UP!!! You really showed how much love that car actually deserves and you rlly did an amazing job at restoring it. Thank you so much! This guy deserves way more subscribers I'll tell you that.
Oh my god my heart. The pure love put into this build!
Crazy respect for your hard work bringing back a classic love to find one.
After all those months, id say it was worth it to give the car its life back. Well done mate
was expecting for it to have a 4-AGE with ITBs, but its still great seeing an old 86 drive again
Such an epic build! Your attention to detail is amazing. Thanks for sharing it with me!

Bruh, after seeing this, i know 2 things:
1- I don't want to be a car mechanic (looks too difficult)
2- anyway, i want my ae86
