yes, everything we see in anime is real, there are giant robots fighting everywhere, schooll boys emitting pools of blood from their nose when they see pretty females and tentacles, molesting anything that has breasts and lacks penis. In what world do you think we live?
It's called real Initial D though. INITIAL D IS ABOUT DRIFTING. so what if people are mad that they didn't drift while cosplaying a DRIFTING anime on the mountain they DRIFTED on. People are allowed to be mad. So no, you shut up

I love how Japanese animators brought such a feeling to the people all around the world with such an average hill road we can find literally anywhere. The place looks just like any mountainous roads I can find in my country, nothing special. But watching you guys running along the average road somehow gives me "wow this is the spot!"-feeling, and it feels weird an inexpiable. That probably is the power of media. Movies, animes, and dramas gives us another eye to our boring vision toward boring, everyday-lives, turning things from nothing-special to cinematic scenes. It made me want to travel.
I can’t think of a single road in England that is anything like “Akina pass”. For many people, like myself, never get to see, let alone drive on one of these roads
I just imagine some Japanese teen who lives by Mount Haruna who's in his 12 year of schooling, and is only just now learning about Initial D. This teen likes cars and racing and drifting and think's "Yeah sure, I'll give the show a go." So he watches it, to later realize the show takes place at some mountain called Mount Akina, which is supposed to be Mount Haruna, and the main character lives like right next door to him. Or even better, in the house that the teen lives in. That would surely be a strange ass feeling.
I got you a better one. A guy who once raced against Takumi figures out his life and keeps it engraved in his memory. If history forgets about the Tofu Drift Racer of Akina, then he will make sure to remember him as the one who bested him. Thirty years later, he moves to West Virginia due to a remarriage and will work as an auto shop teacher. He then meets a boy who begins working for his uncle's pizzeria and drives an 86. He doesn't know about how good a car it is until the first few days of school. A group of street racers from out of town challenge the locals and he hears that they want to challenge the 86 driver because he passed one of theirs late at night. The boy takes the challenge and wins using similar techniques. He asks the boy how he got so good and he reveals that he's actually been driving for a while, delivering cannoli to a hotel at the VA/WV border and picking up fresh pepperoni from a butcher on the way home. He then tells the boy about Takumi, saying "I think I might be getting some deja vu..."
Initial D: Safe Stage Ryosuke: "Watching their technique is amazing. They enter those speed bumps like they're nothing and exit them perfectly at roughly 40kph. How does he do it!?!?"
