After losing my job a few years ago, my wife left and I'm still alone. I agree with you, it is nice to get up and go whenever I want. Soon I will be living full time in a van I have. Your inspiration is helpful, Thank You.
As a level 10 introvert, I applaud you for doing what you're doing. I have a 2002 LX470 and almost every weekend finds me out in the boondocks getting away from the crowd. Out in the Pacific Northwest of the U.S. there is no shortage of beautiful places to get lost. I'm planning on doing overlanding full time when I retire. My "plan" is to get a small cargo trailer maybe 10 feet long, 6 feet wide and outfit it for bare basics with a big leather recliner instead of a bed. Stay safe and enjoy the journey.

I'm used to taking care of older cars. One of the most important things to do for maintenance is to inspect everything every time you change the oil. Regular inspections reveal so much what you're going to be in for in the future. I've spotted many parts that need to be replaced, but because I was checking them so regularly, I was able to drive a lot of miles after knowing I would have to replace a part before that part actually needed to be replaced. Knowing everything ahead of time gives me the freedom to take my time finding parts and to schedule down time for the car. Also, the rule of replacing everything in sets is a good one. If you have multiple parts to do the same thing, and one of those parts fails, you should replace them all. Tie rods are a good example. If one tie rod end goes bad, replace all four. If one ball joint goes bad, replace all four. It allows taking the car down once for repairs instead of a bunch of times in rapid succession, and you're not going to have to worry about the other ones breaking because you left them in.
the footage of a solo videographer is an art ... very bless... I will also travel soon with my 80 series in the USA ... Goal is to build more capital funds remote ... so far so good ... plan after plan ...

Before the pandemic lockdown, we rode the same ferry driving from Banff back to Vancouver. It’s free because it’s part of the BC highway network.
