Thank you for doing what you do! I resonate with your story, because I'm also an only child of a traditional Korean family living in Vancouver working some office job, and being a daughter I was taught that the outdoors are for boys. After coming across your videos, I realized there's more to BC than the average city person sees, and I don't have to be some big bearded dude to do it haha. You helped inspire me to get a Tacoma so that I can start exploring the trails out here, hope to see you on one of them someday!
Just found your channel. Been watching your videos (more like film). You search for the life that lies within you. Most people only search for the next day, week or the next year. You are an inspiration for young girls to look-up to. Thanks for creating your work. Thanks for sharing.
I can see why this won! More accurately, I could FEEL why this was the winning film. Great storytelling and cinematography, a compelling message, well done!👏👏
yes, I left my job as a Financial Controller for Nestle NZ, to go Overlanding around the world. We came home due to Covid. Our truck is still parked in Brisbane, Australia. I have gone back to work now in Not for Profit to give back to our community. Wonderful story. It is such a great lifestyle
amazing and inspiring. I started overlanding with my two kids (5 and 13) and now I feel we are developing a special connection enjoying nature and traveling together
Your an inspiration, not only to different cultures around the world and women in general, you show humanity and how one can change their situation and courage creates determination which then creates Freedom. Well done.
Very inspiring and motivating! Makes me realize I have to get back up there where the air is fresh, the sounds are pure and the the soul can flourish. No more excuses for me.
Huge props for what you do and the strength needed to follow the path you've chosen. Yet another example of how empowering it is to own a capable off road vehicle. 👏
Mother Nature welcomes us all to enjoy her beauty,no matter what experience we do or don’t have. Your ancestors are so proud of you! I look forward to watching your videos and the inevitable joy I know they will bring. Happy Travels
I've been waiting for you to upload this since you won the short film award!! I love this so much how in such a short video you showed your journey growing more independant and developing a new lifestyle! Congrats on the win again !
I loved this video, it's amazing how we all find our way one day. I stumbled upon the Long Way Round TV Series years ago and it changed my life forever, but it wasn't just the TV series, the band that did the soundtrack for the series, Sterephonics as well. Stereophonics has this song, Rewind, and the more I listened to it, the more I realized I wasn't in the right place in my life, so I bought a BMW Adventure bike and headed to the Overland Expo in AZ. It was all over after that. Keep up the great work, your videos and your story are amazing.
Love this! I have been watching all of your videos and enjoying your take on loneliness vs adventure and how to meld them. I think you are a special soul to even take on this journey :) I live in Abbotsford and for me this is the only place I have lived that can keep my soul happy since I have my city job in town as a nurse but I can get out to the woods easily and go to Manning or many other places close by every weekend. Never stop exploring!
Wow huge congratulations!! So well done and very inspiring. You have a true talent for this and we enjoy every minute of every video you post, keep up the amazing work!!
Congratulations on finding you. I think its awesome that you went out and found yourself. I just found your channel and I am defiantly hooked. New guy from Las Vegas.
You are not alone, kid. As a Canadian who has a very similar background to your parents, I encourage my kids to be Canadians and live in a Canadian way.
What an awesome story, I wished I had more worldly dreams at a younger age to be brave enough to venture out into a new country and experience other cultures. You nailed it with finding like minded people, biggest mistake I made was leaving the Fraser Valley and everything it offered, sometimes those greener pastures are not so green after all. Life is too short, live every moment.
1:41 min/sec into your video and I have chills. I AM A COUNTRY GIRL whose always wanted to experience THE CITY GIRL lifestyle and explore the world. I am so excited to watch more videos and see how far you go! Good luck! Subscribed
Amazing movie and amazing story. I'm just starting out on this road too, having acquired an old BJ73 and kitting it out as a solo overlander for my local area - Eastern Europe and the few thousands of kilometers around and making a job change so I can follow the dream of overlanding. No more 8-5, 5 days a week . Hopefully I will do some overlanding in Canada too, in a year or so, but most probably with a rental vehicle there. So I will be watching your videos for more inspiration :)
Yes! Thank you so much. I’m not good with words. And, I’ll be soon leaving for Alaska. In which I have no family and few friends I’ve met online; and few I’ve met in person on short trips there. I want that lifestyle you discussed. But, I’m going to show your video to my parents. I hope they get it then. Thank you! 4,500 miles to live a dream is pretty far! Living in SC currently.
I have watched some of your later films and thought "Wow, that's a very Australian set up for someone in Canada." Now I know why! Looking forward to seeing Australia from an unjaded lense. Thankyou for the films and hello from the NT!
Hey, it's Ian. That was really cool. It's so good to see all your travels especially in times like this. We should go for a day trip sometime in the next few months. Keep up the good work😁👍
I had to re-watch again! KUDOS you are from my home town? Amazing as I recognize streets and such from so many years ago.... your proper English is a bit amazing as is your choice of lifestyle, and could almost make out you telling your Mama about going to Australia :) All the BEST to you and your family and friends! Cheers! :)
I've been increasingly interested in overlanding after a life of 4 wheeling, two different things. Overlanding is useful, peaceful, and has a real purpose vs 4 wheeling that is generally just out to get the tires spinning. Here in Los Angeles, it's a completely different world where social media and status rule, that's why I avoid as much as possible, live outside the city, and have multiple getaways far and near. I have joined a group of people like myself that are all across the US with a purpose-driven goal that includes overlanding. I believe videos like this deserve attention and not just a couple words in a comment section on social media. I have traveled the world because of the life I have chosen but it usually includes a hotel, rental car, and hopefully a backpack and mileage on my hiking shoes if I'm lucky. I've been to places most do not get to see but anywhere away from the city can be as peaceful and satisfying as any other. It's what YOU make it. You can live somewhere your entire life and still feel like you don't belong. A lack of travel during the pandemic has changed my focus. I know many with a similar background but live a life set by their culture, stereotype, and expectations. You have relieved yourself of those constraints and are more successful than those with a house on the hill, garage full of cars, and the toys that only make it out once or twice a year. I don't need to subscribe to UA-camrs with 2 million subs that do prank or reaction videos just because that's the norm. I am subscribing to this channel because of the dedication to a life of finding adventure and being happy. :)
Dont worry about your identity. I am of Asian descent and somewhat of a unicorn in the atv/camping world/lifestyle. I also wasnt born into it but somehow i was accepted with open arms. Also helps that i can grow a full beard and can keep up with everybody. Manitoba, CANADA ❤
Wow very cool little film , I’m happy my homeland Australia has helped you on your journey. I’ve probably only seen half my country and I can’t wait to see more. I have overland east n central Africa of which it now holds deep in my heart , if your ever headed that way I’m happy for any questions. Safe travels
Great job on the video, and for you following your adventurous soul. Your trip in my country (Australia) looked epic. Very gutsy and as we say from down under, "Goon onya mate!". 👍
Wow...U've gone and done it. Cut the 9-5 job and so early in ur life and realized a different life for urself. INSPIRING! I, 54 yr old Asian lady, have almost gotten there. I have my van and am starting the build. Hopefully will be out there in 6 months...sooner. Crossing my fingers...!!!! See you out there.😁👍
Been slowing getting my rig together...the only thing that has been holding me down is the good job I have been trained my whole life to get. This was supposed to be the goal right? Get a good job, get paid and you're ok? In my 30s now and realizing it wasn't really a goal for ME. I wanna travel! Awesome video, makes me feel like I'm not the only one. Getting the funds together so I can quit my job and go wherever I want. :)
I really like this young lady, something unique and special about her.
If only I was young again. Western Australia is waiting for your return. 🚙🚙 Excellent Video.
Excellent ,outstanding trip,and courage❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
