- Take a look at Classic Retrofit's upgraded high output 6-phase alternators for vintage Porsche 911s with our Chief Engineer and designer, Jonny Hart. We offer internally regulated, high output alternators to suit all air-cooled 911s including the Porsche 964 and 993 models.
These units are a huge improvement over standard and are fitted as standard by noted bespoke 911 builders including Ruf, Singer and Guntherwerks and Porsche specialists all over the world. They produce far more current at idle than standard items while also generating less heat. The built-in fan and onboard regulator with patented Denso internals makes them extremely powerful and ultra reliable compared to original units.
Our high output alternators were developed to increase power from standard Porsche 911 electrical systems for our electric air conditioning systems. For manufacturing, we teamed up with alternator and specialists, WOSP.

+1... A lucky find indeed as the OE alternator has called it quits.... 24 years and 80K something miles; 1998 Carrera S (993). .. Ordered the 175A for the coupe. .. Easy Peasy powering 2 aftermarket Class AB audio amplifiers ...
Update: July 2023... Bought the 175amp for a '98 993 Carrera S a while back, only now installing the much-needed upgrade... Man, the 993s Group 48 battery loves getting a fair share of charge... Screw the two class A/B audio amplifiers grabbing all the output. .. Very pleased with the quality! .. Cheers

Question, on your website it says to use a serpentine style belt system when using the 240a alternator for the 993 but here you say you could use the single RS belt or the stock double belt pulley? Just want to make sure I can use my stock double belt pulley with the 240a alternator that I am ready to purchase. Thank you!
You can use the 240A with the standard double belt if your pulleys and belts are in top condition. Also note that the belt widths are critical and are different between cars so make sure you have the correct size.
Is there any weight saving benefits?
Same weight as original but twice the power.
