I just signed up for ATT Fiber and they are coming to install it next week. On their site they show a white wifi router and call it ALL-Fi. Did they not have the white wifi router? I'm just trying to get more info about it to see if there is a better option out there then using their wifi router.

The white router they will setup for you is a bgw 320. It is Wifi 6 and takes the fiber signal dire to it. In this video he has a white ont that gets the fiber signal then sends it to the gateway/router. The other small black box on the right is for two wireless tvs for U-Verse.
My last apartment had the white boxed all in the unit already so we just connected it. But current apartment I’ll have to get equipment. People hate the service where I live but there’s not much of an alternative slower speed at higher prices somewhat rural area.

Does fiber have a limit tô how much Internet you use?

Ip passthrough is the only way to use my router and I believe it gets lag that way

Unfortunately AT&T doesn't allow you to use your own gateway. You have to use theirs. You can however use your own Wi-Fi router that you can do an IP pass through using their gateway. Still no way of getting around using their equipment where the fiber comes into the home.

@@SaveGreenHere from what I've understood, they've always charged for the gateway. Now they're rolling it into the one price of say $80 a month for the one gig plan they're saying no equipment fees. If you run on to the AT&T forums you definitely will see that at least since last summer 2021 (when I started with them) they've charged for the gateway and it's required. When you have cable internet that's where you're typically allowed to bring your own cable modem. I don't know what Google Fiber rules are as far as they do allow or with FiOS, but I know AT&T makes you use their own equipment.
The one on the wall is standard for every carrier. Just the way Fiber works. Other equipment just depends on your provider. We just switched to Quantum Fiber with 200 up, and 200 down, as that is enough. Same here. I have the BGW-320 Gateway. There is no separate ONT required as it's built into the gateway.
AT&T has claimed Fiber has been coming since 2013. Still not available in my area and probably never will be.
