my youtube recommended page has been in a weird slump as of late and I think this video has been one of the most interesting pieces of media I've seen in months, this was truly art
That is crazy I just watched his video using them and UA-cam randomly recommended this video in my home page lol Good job winning his most effort award
After seeing them unboxed in wills video this was super cool to see pop up on my feed. The artistry and beauty you put into the filmmaking alongside actually making the handles was awesome. You really captured the energy of some of my fav creators while being completely original. Good job dude.
doing all that in an apartment is the most real shit ever. the struggle is real when you are renting. i'll never forget the feeling of realizing i had not only a garage, but an entire basement when i moved into my first house. i went from a walk in closet to a 10 foot by 20 foot finished basement. don't ever let your tiny space slow you down, it just makes you better at using a bigger space when you get one
Absolutely man- so excited to have my own real studio area one day, but for now I'm happy making the most with what I got. Although kicking up sawdust in the room that's also my kitchen isn't ideal haha. Thanks for the nice comment!
Nice work - the algorithim showed me this after watching some Wiliam Osumund and Saf3ty Third videos, so hopefully that means it's showing it to a wider audience. I figured a sub and a comment would also help 🙂
When I clicked on this video after watching William's video, I totally expected it to be a bland tutorial from a guy who doesn't really know about visual design, but 33 seconds in and I am hooked. The editing style is great, just the aesthetic of this video is immaculate. Definitely a unique and intriguing video because of how much you are clearly thinking about the visual aesthetic. Most youtubers who made these kinds of videos (i.e. design/mechanic/building videos) aren't spending a lot of time on the visual component but rather the actual content/tutorial. You have done both and it is really refreshing to see!
Thank you- means a lot. I put a lot of work into the pacing and style of my videos- I do agree its something that tends to be missing from this genre. I appreciate your comment 🙏
Started watching wills recent vid, only got a minute in and had to go do something else, I THEN saw your vid, watched it and thought you did a great job, had to go back and actually watch the first vid, was really happy to see his super happy reaction, well done man, great job on both the vid and the handles.
That tape trick was clever, Im putting it in my mental toolbox! Came here from the TOP of my recommended page, after I watched Will's video a couple hours ago.
Diving head first into a crafting/repair project without much experience and getting an excellent result is one of the most gratifying feelings. Good Work.
I think it's Tom Scott who put the word "bodge" in my head. To roughly paraphrase, it means "make it work with what you've got". This is a fantastic bodge job, I have much respect for what you achieved! I love that you put him on an old CRT :D
Bodge is an extremely englishperson word, it's a word I use all the time and have known it for as long as I can remember... I love it, one of my absolute favourite words bc the sound of it fits its meaning perfectly 🤣
I watched Williams unboxing video of this yesterday, where he shouted your channel out. I didn't watch the video immediately, but then youtube recommended showed it to me today. Edit: After watching the whole thing, I gotta say, I really like you and your videos
I just found this channel though this video, and I love this. I am studying mechanical engineering in college and i really enjoy it, but i really appreciate the whole “figure it out as you go” mentality. I have spent so many hours designing and thinking about my projects, and it takes months for the fruits of that labor to express itself in a final design and a working thing. even though that is rewarding, this artistic approach is so awesome in how you go in knowing everything won’t be perfect and that’s ok. I really want to try making something like this now, and just see what happens. Your videos are awesome and your messages are amazing, keep doing what you are doing, I love this so much.
Thanks man- yeah its extremely rewarding to put a ton of work into making something perfect, but doing these short and messy projects to space out the longer term polished projects is so good for keeping momentum
Over 7 years ago I was watching a @braille skateboarding video where they skated on viewer shipped creations. One of which was a laser cut board, William Osman posted a video of how he made it. That is the first video on his channel to this day, and i’ve been hooked to his content since. There is so much “maker” content on youtube today, but your style is so beautiful to me. It’s a combination of the beautiful camera work, music, and story telling that makes this video play more like a poem than a “diy” video. I love your style, and I loved this video. Keep it up in whatever you do.
Theres something about the way you presented this that has me motivated to try my hand at making things again. Years ago I'd found I was good at software and at some point must have decided I just wasn't any good at making "real things". Definitely going to find an old abandoned project to pick up and see where it takes me! This was by far the coolest set of handles William received. Really enjoyed the video as well, you got a sub from me!
Thank you! There's definitely something extremely satisfying about making things with your hands. I started in software because it was all I had, didn't have any space or tools for working with my hands, so got good at photoshop. But later on got back into physical mediums and mixing the two is incredibly powerful, so much fun too
Love that you're using tools one could get off the shelf at Harbor Freight or other big box hardware store; in a space that was repurposed for making rather than a custom built workshop the size of a living room. It's a bit discouraging to a young maker than seeing a cool project done with tools worth several hundred dollars housed in a purpose built space. Been thinking about getting into leather working, and this is a lovely video to get an idea on how to do it. Keep it up!
Thanks man- yeah I used to work at harbor freight and just loaded up on tools with that 20% employee discount lol. Just making it work in my tiny apartment. I started messing around with leatherworking in my college dorm a few years ago- definitely a good one to get into with limited tools and space
I dearly love how you use the vintage old-school Tvs in the videos. please tell me about the inspiration behind that. It's so creative and aesthetically pleasing. Am curious about how you send signals into the TVs coz I know the only take rca input. It definitely would make a good video to tell us about them or just a small segment of your future video.
I would love to make a video on the TVs soon- you can get HDMI to RCA converters for like $10. Need to get more so I can set up more TVS at the same time. The inspiration behind using them is that it gives some context to when I show media produced by other people, or older media I’ve produced. It tells the audience that this is a detour in the story, and sort of feels like I’m watching that clip along with you during the storytelling- if that makes sense
Came here from William's video and proceeded to binge your whole channel. Really great content and I'm excited to see what you do in the future dude. I really love the mix of making, philosophy, and just general story telling/filmography that happens in your videos; don't lose it!
I was (no one knows why) recommended William's video by UA-cam. Your work was in my opinion the most original. A great result, and a relief from all the 3D printed parts.
Oooo very cool Fun seeing you work at leather again! And so fun seeing all the projects you get up to- as someone really not in the world of woodworking, leatherworking, and all the other workings you do, it's really neat seeing the projects you tackle that I wouldn't have been aware of otherwise. A whole other world!
Out of all the grips he was given, this one was the most interesting to me. I was really surprised to see there was a video of it being made. Keep up the good work and here's a follow.
Will's unboxing video is up! So psyched with his reaction:

Great Job! I liked these ones the best personally.
8:12 on Williams vid for anyone wondering. Very nice craftsmanship btw!
Well done
Your video was fkng beautiful 👌 Hope you can collab with big Willy soon
Nice work man 🍻

Good job winning his most effort award
Thank you! I'm glad its getting recommended that's sick
Same here! Great vid!
"randomly"
yeah that ain't random, it knows viewers of Will's video watched this one so it thought you'd like it too
5/5 Diesel drums!
Awesome craftsmanship, all the details came out so good.
These are by far the nicest, highest effort of all the grips.
Thank you 🙏
This one was very beautiful 🌈
So glad you’ve taken the first step to that “Building My Own Excavator From Scratch” video you’ve always talked about!
new 50 part series coming to the channel soon building an excavator from scrap wood
holy shit the production quality is immaculate
After seeing them unboxed in wills video this was super cool to see pop up on my feed.
The artistry and beauty you put into the filmmaking alongside actually making the handles was awesome.
You really captured the energy of some of my fav creators while being completely original. Good job dude.

man, I'm so glad this channel exists it's just like on another level from other similar themed channels
Thanks man- it’s so encouraging to read comments like this. More videos soon!
Nice work - the algorithim showed me this after watching some Wiliam Osumund and Saf3ty Third videos, so hopefully that means it's showing it to a wider audience. I figured a sub and a comment would also help 🙂
Thanks for the support! Glad to hear the channel is getting recommended a bit!
Probably one of the nicest pair of handles i have seen in a while 😮
Thank you!

like x10 this is beautiful thanks for making something so cozy and satisfying
Thank you!
These were my favourite and in my opinion the best grips :).
Thank you 🙏
Just watched his video about all the things he got and he and kevin loved it!!!! Awesome project!!!
I'm so happy with his reaction haha- thanks!
Congrats on winning. And i can see he had it right.
Thanks!
Aae! This was awesome, came from your comment on Williams' video. Stayed for the awesomeness!!
Just watched Williams video and then yours popped up. Very beautiful price of work!
Started watching wills recent vid, only got a minute in and had to go do something else, I THEN saw your vid, watched it and thought you did a great job, had to go back and actually watch the first vid, was really happy to see his super happy reaction, well done man, great job on both the vid and the handles.
Lol that's funny- yeah his reaction was amazing- all i could have hoped for
Just saw williams video where he unboxed them. glad youtube recommended me this one now :P
Thank you!
Lovely storytelling, this channel is going to explode really soon for sure
I hope so - thank you 🙏
I just watched Williams video, and reloaded UA-cam and immediately got recommended your video. Keep up the quality work
Thanks man
Been a WO fan for years. Watched his video today and found your video. Great job! You’re a talented craftsman and also a good story teller. Subscribed
Thank you 🙏
That tape trick was clever, Im putting it in my mental toolbox!
Came here from the TOP of my recommended page, after I watched Will's video a couple hours ago.
Thank you! I'm glad you enjoyed. Yeah using tape as a template is way more accurate for materials you're gonna stretch in place for sure
I watch him open your project and he said yours was one of the best.
THESE WERE THE ABSOLUTE BEST ONES!!!
This is a perfect example of how a video like this should be made
Thank you- means a lot
did you see how psyked William was! He's passing those on to his potato for sure cool stuff
I know! Such a sick reaction hahaha
Stitching it through the wood is a chefs kiss
Thank you- I had to add that as a final detail, really don't want these to fall apart lol
Congratulations man! Watching this after Williams review of all the handles. Yours was one of the favorites!
Diving head first into a crafting/repair project without much experience and getting an excellent result is one of the most gratifying feelings. Good Work.
You're going places man, your video editing and wood/leather working skills are amazing
Thanks man 🙏 I appreciate it
Cool to see the making of video of one of the handles that he actually liked and will probably use. Good job and great video!
Thank you!
SO good! I hope he opens and shows them off!!
Thanks Jesse! Me too
He loved them! And they look amazing. I ended up here bcz of his video unboxing all the various handles. I honestly think by far yours was the best.
super cool how you played the video on the old tv
Thanks!
I think it's Tom Scott who put the word "bodge" in my head. To roughly paraphrase, it means "make it work with what you've got". This is a fantastic bodge job, I have much respect for what you achieved!
I love that you put him on an old CRT :D
I like this word - i'm an aspiring professional bodger now
Bodge is an extremely englishperson word, it's a word I use all the time and have known it for as long as I can remember... I love it, one of my absolute favourite words bc the sound of it fits its meaning perfectly 🤣
Beautiful video, beautiful project
I saw William's video yesterday and i was very impressed by your handles. Your work is great and your humor is pretty good too.
Thank you!

Edit: After watching the whole thing, I gotta say, I really like you and your videos

Great video 👍 William seemed to like them and I hope he uses them in the future over the toy blocks
Haha thanks
ANother Video!!!!!!

Much love from Kenya, East Africa.
Thanks man! I appreciate your support
Beautiful craftsmanship. Fun 👏🏻👏🏽👏🏿
Thanks B 🙏
Best thing I got out of William's video, and the result looks amazing
Thanks man
These were my favorite looking handles. Very well made
This popped up in my feed an hour after watching William Osman unbox everything.
This is such a wholesome video. Great work.
Thank you 🙏

Thank you 🙏

I remember watching Williams video and completely forgetting about that challenge. Congrats, they look great
Thanks!
amazing video, did not expect to see this but I recognized the grips from will’s video in your thumbnail. Very well done
saw the unboxing, great work

Sensing heavy inspiration from Van nesitat 🎉
Absolutely
Crazy I literally just watched Williams video, refreshed my recommended page and your video pops up 😂
Very nice editing and beautiful handles. Enjoyed seeing the process, thank you.

Thank you 🙏
I saw these on the video and was honestly amazed at the quality. So glad I found this vid. Thanks for your next-level effort.
Your videography and lighting with the almost stop motion segements is incredible
Thank you! means a lot
I’m glad your generosity of time, materials, labour, and spirit has been rewarded with views. Well done you. Subscribed 👍👍

Really great video Evan. I'll be looking out for them in Will's 2nd channel videos. I've also been watching Will since the laser cutting days RIP.
Thanks man! I think he’ll be unboxing the grips he gets sent for the video this weekend
Very impressive!
Came here from William's video and proceeded to binge your whole channel. Really great content and I'm excited to see what you do in the future dude. I really love the mix of making, philosophy, and just general story telling/filmography that happens in your videos; don't lose it!
I love those handles! killer job man

The videography and editing on this video is amazing.
i love the color pallete and music.
These were my favorite from his video. Great job!
This video blew me away! Amazing aesthetic and feel from this
Thanks!
I was (no one knows why) recommended William's video by UA-cam.
Your work was in my opinion the most original. A great result, and a relief from all the 3D printed parts.
Man I saw his reaction. Your work is amazing, you are amazing, you are an inspiration. Keep on making more, Evan!
Evan: *Makes a precise masterpiece*
William: *Yanks packages out with excavator*
You did a great job, man!!! I'm glad he could plug your channel and this amazing video!
Oooo very cool
Fun seeing you work at leather again! And so fun seeing all the projects you get up to- as someone really not in the world of woodworking, leatherworking, and all the other workings you do, it's really neat seeing the projects you tackle that I wouldn't have been aware of otherwise. this is such a nice video! I love the color grading, and of course the whole project! looking forward to your future projects :)
Thank you 🙏 Plenty more coming soon
I'm learning so much watching the leather working. Love it dude!
Thank you 🙏 glad I could give some little tips
GENUINLY LOVED THIS VIDEO, SUPER CINEMATIC!
THANK YOU, GENUINELY LOVED THIS COMMENT! :)
Thank you so much for explaining your process and why you did certain things in certain ways- I'm learning so much!
Also, great work 😁😁😁
Thank you 🙏 glad you appreciate the process
Lol. Got recommended this right after watching his video! This was a great video! The videography+music+voice over was just perfect!
Thank you!
I absolutely love that you just have a scrap wood pile inside your apartment.
Always gotta have a scrap wood pile. Always.
Wouldn't know how to live without it.
Oh my god, I watched your video first and was so excited an proud when he opened yours! Well Done!
Oh wow thats quite impressive
This vid made me happy bud. The background footage on the TV of Will was cute and the grips turned out amazing
Thank you!
Its very satisfying seeing someone not using computers to make things that could easily be 3d printed. keep up the great content.
Thanks! Yeah that was the goal- seeing what I could put together with mostly stuff i already had. Glad you enjoyed
Definitely my favorite handles
very entertaining, nice editing, and nice voice over.
overall very satisfying.
the handels are cool but the video itself is so good!
Thank you 🙏
Great work
The "fuck it let's make it" attitude is what everybody needs these days. Skill and experience comes with just doing it! Good on ya.
Love how these turned out. Came over from big Willy’s channel and look forward to seeing more of your content. 👍
Thank you for the suppport 🙏 lots more coming soon
This was so mesmerizing.
Thank you 🙏
This is really, really inspiring, and incredibly cool. I love the result, I loved seeing the process and I love your musings. Thank you for your time.
Thank you 🙏
