7:05 After watching him shave the rainbow wood and thinking of fruity pebbles, once he switched back to regular wood it felt like sugarless whole grain cheerios
This honest to god feels like an exact thought my autistic ass would have and I don't know if or how much relatability there would be for neurotypical people with this specific comparison
Why tf did you have to go & post *such* an honest, sincere & accurate comment?! I mean, I _do_ think that you nailed it... we just cannot go back! 😂😂😂😂❤
That’s because you have never had a purely phisically relationship with a wooden puppet if you had the sight of those shaving would have turned you knuckles white 🎉
Well, maybe theme it a little better or pretty soon you'll have "look at this cute idea." multiplied 50 times to everything in your house and then you're known as confetti Dan.
The container is so beautiful but so was the process with the rainbow chips and shavings and the colors and shapes changing during the turning. So good!!! 🌈 🪵 🎨
Regarding the shavings, gather them up, suspend them in a slightly milky iridescent resin like it's sprinkles on icing, and make a fancy cake stand for someone's birthday.
No lie, I feel like this entire project was a way to get to play with the fun toys and make pretty wood shavings. The shavings will look amazing in an Easter project.
A wonderful end product as always, but such a unique and somewhat psychedelic experience to watch it take shape. Particularly enjoyed the shaping of the lid - every touch of the gouge changed the coloured layers like a kaleidoscope 🤯😎
I love this so much! I second the comment of using those gorgeous shavings in a resin piece you turn. It would be INCREDIBLE & leave none of that gorgeous wood to waste.
Watching a master at his craft create is such a wonderful gift. Thank you for allowing us see not only the beautiful creations, but the magic of your skill.
I have to ask. After watching almost ALL of your videos, what is the sealant you put on your work when you are completed with it? It comes out SO polished and beautiful. PLEASE, continue to do more videos. I have learned so much, just watching you turn….
This is the most mesmerizing turn I've seen. How the stroboscopic effect freezes the work, how the colors appear in the picture as it's cut away. I think it could be more amazing this way than live.
Theres someone out there screaming at their screen that this is perfect to put their psychedelic mushrooms in, the colours and body shape of the container, looks amazing glad I watched
I think what you should do with those shavings is that you should put them into some glass shape with water on the inside like a snowglobe and then you can shake it around when you want and it would look really cool.
As soon as I saw the rainbow plywood, I prepared myself for the fingers to be millimeters from the band saw blade. Relieved you didn't go there again 😅
When I was in freshman year of high school, I nearly lobbed off my thumb whittling. Needless to say, the experience was traumatic, and an emergency surgery with a few months of physical therapy later, it got almost back together. Why do I say this? Well I just noticed the huge gash on your hand while you were woodturning, and it made me think of my own experience. More than that though, it really shows me how much you love woodworking despite the danger, and I find that really inspiring. I have been into woodworking since my own incident, but I’d be lying if I said I wasn’t kind of avoiding it. Anyway, I’m thinking of getting back in the shop and what not, and I just feel like this video helped me realize how fun this hobby really is. Always work safe everyone :)
The one thing I have realized recently while watching "niche" videos, is that as a 40 y/o woman, I am NOT as weird as I always felt! I can comment on this video about how happy it made my BRAIN FEEL, and I KNOW others will agree! As someone who spent their adolescents without social media, seeing people comment with the same feelings is SO validating ❤
Loved this so much. The process was as enjoyable as seeing the finished piece. I am enamored of that little multicolored box. If I saw it at an art fair, I would pay handsomely for it after lavishing a great deal of praise on the creator of the piece.
Watching that spin on the lathe was giving me spine tingles!! Suggestion. Make a longer cylindrical one with a fitted top. Would be an amazing pencil box for coloured pencils! Could even collect the shavings, put them in clear resin, and turn them to fit in the pencil box, to be used as paperweights. Would probably drive Jazza to distraction! 😂
That wood would really make a cool skateboard deck. Especially if it had those deepened wheel wells to stop the board wheel bite when turning. Neat stuff.
I would use those "trimmings" in resin jewelry. There are almost an unlimited number of moulds to use out there. All shapes & sizes. That would be gorgeous, colorful jewelry.
they're cutting down all the lgbtrees...

Glorax
Finally
I woke my cat up giggling at this lol
@@joshuakuehn surprise! LGBT House and neighborhood and dining set
You should really collect up all the shavings and set them into a block of clear resin, then turn that on the lathe...
What he said.
Infinite wooden box hack
I thought the same.
He's done that before, at least once but probably more

7:05 After watching him shave the rainbow wood and thinking of fruity pebbles, once he switched back to regular wood it felt like sugarless whole grain cheerios
Yessssss
This honest to god feels like an exact thought my autistic ass would have and I don't know if or how much relatability there would be for neurotypical people with this specific comparison

I was hungry for some Fruity Pebbles, Cereal at your house Vs Cereal at Grandmas house.
@@Dookybootie I'd invite you over to my house to eat some cereal but, all I gots is Cinnamon Toast Crunch. I'm sorry, _maybe_ next time? 😂😂
i have never been so thoroughly satisfied by the sight of wood shavings
That’s because you have never had a purely phisically relationship with a wooden puppet if you had the sight of those shaving would have turned you knuckles white 🎉
All of the shavings look like a box of fruity pebbles exploded. Love it.
That's exactly what I was thinking! I wouldn't pull out the milk, though...
I was thinking a multi-color box of NERDS candy.
@@Wiggin03book That works, too!
I thought Fruity Pebbles right away!
Confetti
The shavings, mixed with resin, would make nice pen bodies. Christmas ornaments too!
Well, maybe theme it a little better or pretty soon you'll have "look at this cute idea." multiplied 50 times to everything in your house and then you're known as confetti Dan.
Weed bowls
Splinter confetti! ... Ahem, but yes. Clear resin. Make it a nightlight.
It's been 20 years, but I couldn't miss my high-school woodshop lathe any more right now
Made me think of times in woodshop in middle school
Same! I was thinking this would be an awesome thing to do in Virtual Reality, with less mess lol.. could be quite meditative
The container is so beautiful but so was the process with the rainbow chips and shavings and the colors and shapes changing during the turning. So good!!! 🌈 🪵 🎨
@cinnamoniehto4292 what you said! I agree completely!
The colors are so rich!
❤🎉 agree completely, the whole.process is lovely
Regarding the shavings, gather them up, suspend them in a slightly milky iridescent resin like it's sprinkles on icing, and make a fancy cake stand for someone's birthday.
I was going to say it looked like a birthday cake had exploded. Using them for a cake stand would be brilliant!
Good idea
Yes! It’ll look like funfetti cakes!
I really like this idea.
Cool idea in theory, but resin is toxic and shouldn't touch food, so maybe... don't
I mean clearly you've just invented environmentally friendly confetti. Also this video could have been titled "This Wood Is A Real Head Turner".
I see what you did there
Lmfao!
Genuine question, why would wooden confetti be more environmentally friendly than paper ones? Aren't they basically the same thing?
@@abeltrame0000literally EXCEPT the paper is more environmentally friendly as it LACKS the glue that this stuff has
honesty you have an excellent point.
[4:20] Could use rainbow wood shavings as special packing material. Like for shipping ceramics, or packing Christmas presents.
Could put it on ice cream and eat it
I want some of that rainbow wood confetti and I don’t even know why 😂
No lie, I feel like this entire project was a way to get to play with the fun toys and make pretty wood shavings. The shavings will look amazing in an Easter project.

Those shavings are just screaming to be put in clear resin!!
Or in a bowl for eating.
I wonder if there's enough to make the body of an electric guitar?
So indeed!!!
Or as ply wood, of course
I would use those with clear resin to make coasters or some glass wear
This is beautiful and well-made. But the fact that the colours go blue-pink-purple is driving me absolutely batty.
Because scientifically it should be pink, blue, purple? Or aesthetically because it makes the pattern look uneven? Lol
Should go blue, purple, pink
Go Blue!
Why does that drive you batty? 🤔
That's exactly what makes it look bohemian instead of being another annoying basic rainbow.
Oh my! What a lovely piece! 😍
Had you lived in the 60s, you would have become wealthy by selling thousands of them to people to hide their stash in! 😆
My first thought seeing the final piece, “that is definitely where someone would keep their drugs,” lol
My niece absolutely loved this!!!
No talking makes this a GREAT video to fall asleep to. I love this so much.
Or you could watch videos on mute
@ Yes… but then all the other sounds would _also_ be muted. Which would defeat the point in falling asleep to it.
Damn, I've almost never had a more relaxing time watching something so satisfying
4:00 so THAT'S how fruity pebbles are made...
I love this so much!
I second the comment of using those gorgeous shavings in a resin piece you turn. It would be INCREDIBLE & leave none of that gorgeous wood to waste.
04:55 - Looks like the 'Master Control Program' at the end of the 1982 film 'Tron'.... 😏👍 😎🇬🇧
END OF LINE.
Would've been so hard not to just keep cutting with that lathe, so addictive with the colours lol
Amazingly beautiful ! I really got a kick out of the second object being turned and how it would change colors as you worked it. Love this wood.
Watching a master at his craft create is such a wonderful gift. Thank you for allowing us see not only the beautiful creations, but the magic of your skill.

Lots of people use CA glue, but guessing with how he applied it, that it's Boiled linseed oil
With the yellow color, you are probably right. But, what about when he puts shine on the acrylic turns? Would like to know, they sure do shine bright!
@@RoryNewman-z4jmineral oil i think
Ah yes. The rainbowl
Gay wood
I can confirm, my mind has been blown continuously over the past couple days due to this wood
I want everything in my house to be made with this wood
The second block was my favorite. Watching the shavings cycle through the whole rainbow was super cool!
Add the shavings to some resin and turn it. Fabulous looking bowl.
Such a joy to watch. Absolutely stunning. 🌈
4:20 Barney! My Pebbles!
How many rainbow plywood shavings can you add to a box of Fruity Pebbles before people start to notice?
That was absolutely beautiful, I think I nearly started tripping at one point!!
Amazing and stunning work!!! Love love that piece!! Its perfect to hide a treasure!!
The whole time i was thinking it's either a retro children's toy or a weed box😎😎💝✔️✨ Wonderful job young man
At first I was like "that might not end up way trippy & awesome" but then later, I was like
This is the most mesmerizing turn I've seen. How the stroboscopic effect freezes the work, how the colors appear in the picture as it's cut away. I think it could be more amazing this way than live.
Such pretty colors. Nice job
Seriously one of the most visually satisfying lathe videos ever.
13:35 love that bowl…❤

Totally groovy dude.
Can't wait to see what you do with the shavings.😮

This is so pretty ! I love the bright colours ❤
My vote is 1 or more resin globes with the shavings suspended 👍🏾 You always design cool stuff, so I'm sure you can come up with something.
I think what you should do with those shavings is that you should put them into some glass shape with water on the inside like a snowglobe and then you can shake it around when you want and it would look really cool.
Fruity Pebbles are flying off that lathe.
10:22 It almost looks like the multicolored bullseye from Tiny Toon Adventures.
The colors are PHENOMENAL!!!
0:50 cut then measure again because the saw thickness will create the wrong size cut (if your being very specific with your measurements)
Yeah that's not how you use a table saw. Set the fence to the right width and then rip everything to that width.
I cant help but think it looks soft like fabric even tho i saw the whole video lol
With the shavings it’d be so cool to do a clear resin coffee table or lamp or some sort.
As soon as I saw the rainbow plywood, I prepared myself for the fingers to be millimeters from the band saw blade. Relieved you didn't go there again 😅
So THAAAAAAT'S how confetti is made
use the shavings for confetti
Very 60's and very pretty!!
Or as they used to say "Groovy"😂
I imagine the swarf has resin in its future.
12:17 was so cool! This should be a signature special, this is one of the most gorgeous pieces I've ever seen!
so this is how the marshmallow in Lucky Charms is made
this is fantastic.
A lot of pride went into the creation of that wood.
The 60's wants their wood back.
Looks like you spilled fruity pebbles everywhere
That would be the coolest stash box ever.
Looks brilliant. Where did you get the wood from ? Did you cut an ols skateboard to pieces ?

I just dropped everything and just watched this, wonderful.
It was a guessing game this whole video on what you were making it was very intriguing to say the least
Those shavings look like confetti for your next party. But yeah I like that other guys idea of putting it in resin
I absolutely love this piece! I especially love the colors! Beautiful piece ❤

I hope you save that confetti for another project. I'm showing this to my woodworker friends when they get here, I wish one of them had a lathe.
Good morning Jack, I don't know how you come up with these beautiful ideas. This is one cute canister. Adorable. ❤
Oh, how absolutely delightful! I'd buy that without a second's hesitation.

That wood would really make a cool skateboard deck. Especially if it had those deepened wheel wells to stop the board wheel bite when turning. Neat stuff.
Beautiful box. Fun to watch , thank you!
A tip, cut the block's round shape with the band saw first. Safer and keeps the chisel sharp 😉
this remind me of a cake from my home country. called a "rainbow cake" and "Layered Cake(kue lapis)"
That is cool! Love the colours and the shape.
Wonderful and live the shape and those colours pop ,,, yep add the shavings into resin make a beautiful vase
Beautiful box ,awesome craftsmanship....trippy colors makes me thing of using the box for buds
8:36 fire beat right there

I never knew hom much i liked to look at colorful stuff up to this point
I would use those "trimmings" in resin jewelry. There are almost an unlimited number of moulds to use out there. All shapes & sizes. That would be gorgeous, colorful jewelry.
Watching this was mesmerizing. I would definitely take the shavings, densely suspend them in resin, and then turn the resin on the lathe.
