Your approach to creativity and work is so refreshing. There's a tendency and pressure for work to be as perfect as possible, and that's nice, but your stuff is great because you can see the process and design in the finished project. It's a working demonstration of "Hey, anyone can do this" when other youtubers are installing 4 post lifts and telling you you need thousands in tools just to work on your car, fix a shelf, or build a piece of furniture.

Fun fact about bike bullet lights: harmonica players use them as shells for custom microphones, because the shape is great for holding next to the harmonica, and the thick metal helps reduce microphonic feedback while playing.
A couple welding tips! Hold the welding gun with one hand and use your other hand to stabilize yourself. Having the gun closer and more stable rather than swaying around will result in a cleaner looking weld.
Scrap metal is absolute gold for homemade custom projects. I've made headlights and fender supports for my '85 Monark Mobylette almost for free. Scrap metal, A few common tools and a cheap wealder, Can make a lot of cool projects. Good work dude! Greetings from Brazil!
As a car guy and an engineer, I've always stuck to doing any modifications or projects by planning things out and sitting on ideas to make sure it's all fleshed out and doing the work as close as to perfection as possible. While that's how I've done most things, watching you get an idea and go for it is a huge breath of fresh air, in that not everything has to be perfect or super thought out, and to sometimes just go for it. Your creative approach is so good. Looking forward to watching more of your projects. Edit: I guess to boil it down, don't get lost in the details and just do it.
i like to use this scrap-punk approach in my own projects, but i often get demotivated cuz most people like things to be clean and perfect, this is great inspiration for me, thanks
The freedom of tinkering with your car making it your own is what the car community needs. I build my jeep the same way! Thank you for making this look good!
this is one of the only creators on here ive found that i can truly relate to, the way you build things and the finished product really speaks to me. everything comes across as so warm and welcoming.
I never thought that a Santa Fe could look this cool with a simple lighting add on. Awesome work. One thing I have to say though is that by removing your front grill and bumper, your radiator is now exposed. Radiators are really fragile and expensive. If you are driving down the highway, you can get rocks or debris flung into it, which can irreparably damage it.
This is the best video I’ve ever seen of modding cars, it’s refreshing to see someone make fun and have joy with what they have. All the other UA-camrs now focus on having the most power or trying to make the nicest thing ever, and not say they shouldn’t have pride in having nice stuff it’s really refreshing to be reminded that modifying cars is meant to be fun. I love how you think about it as a fun hobby and that you don’t care what others think and it adds a lot of story to your car and I’m sure you can have a lot of fun and a ton of story’s in this little car. Best of luck I hope the car treats you well. PS the headlights look sick
Throwing in a thumbs up, and a comment to feed the algorithm. As a guy with a 76 Silverado shortbed stepside with bolts welded into skeleton hands for tail lights(and a spiderweb grill) I approve this modification.

I've watched this video and your metal dash video and have yo say that your creativity is inspiring. I'm a big fan of seeing someone make their vehicle unique to them through doing the work themselves, and just having fun with it. Makes me want to revisit the idea of installing wrangler style door hinges on my car so I can take the doors off while cruising in nice weather.

While you called it your truck, it's more akin to a van, which is more convenient anyway. Here I drive my parent's cars, a 2013 VW Sharan and 2919 VW Up!. You can probably read their brand preference from that. I like either car a lot, they are manuals with distinct characters in the way they operate. The Up! is light and nimble, very easy to control so I heel-and-toe constantly in it, since that's fun and makes the ride smoother. I can't pull that off in the Sharan (yet), but instead frequently attempt the tricky double-clutch rematches on downshifts. The differences in character goes much deeper and both are fun daily drivers, depending on the situation or simply availability at hand (them being shared cars). Said Sharan got a quartet of problems in our recent vacation, one actually changing how it drove significantly. Perhaps I'll share more about that in the Discord, at a later date.
Just a bit of advice when welding, for your safety. If you plan to do more than a few tiny welds, you should wear a long sleeve and some gloves, to save yourself from essentially: a nasty sunburn
Beyond the creativity and skill needed to work on a project such as this youve made a high quality, enjoyable video out of it, so glad i got recommended this video!!
Plz upload this weekend. I have been so stoked seeing your weekly uploads. I need this for inspiration! I will be subscribing on your site as soon as I get a good pay from a free lance project!
Just as a heads up depending on what state your in, the may require your headlight housings to be a certain color or have to be adjusted to not blind other people and have the high beams work. Just double check your states road laws on that, should have it public knowledge accessible to anyone wanting to know. Just so your not getting pulled over by every cop who cares or is a ass. If your state doesn't care or it isn`t listed, more power to you and awesome job and mods man. Keep her going.
Another good idea I think would be to hollow out the headlights you have and keep the plastic so it looks like a headlight but the inner is completely custom. It’ll keep them clean from bugs and road debris.
those old headlight bulbs you reused are halogens, and if you touch the glass you drastically reduce their lifespan. just a heads up if you wonder why they burn out in a month or two.
I would first like to say, i support people doing their own work and learning new skills, and would never expect that my opinion should matter in what you do. With that said, i hate everything about this.
Submit this car to the unicorn circuit. Marty n Moog would love to see it. On a side note, I melted my motorcycle headlamp unit by using an brighter car headlight bulb. So just be warey.
It looks great, but I worry about pedestrian collision safety. Rounded, low, and soft car fronts perform better in vehicle-pedestrian collision tests: They distribute the impact and send the person up onto or over the car so they're less likely to also get driven over. This modification removes padding, and exposes more hard edges and a more vertical profile, which generally perform worse in such tests.
It’s a fun video but I do want to point out that normal headlights are like 30 bucks each not 300 per pair. I still enjoy the mad max Tucson. Realistically that’s what actual mad max will look like irl.

And is there even a lens diverder in the glass? Also you could have reused the lens of the plastic lamp if you cut it off and maybe polished it up or a very fine sandpaper grid and resprayed it with lacker there's a few tricks to repurpose headlights. but i do need to say the lights make the care shine brighter now. Dont realy hate it i find it a creative fix but i dont think i would get away with this in the EU. Maybe it would pass inspection if its inside the headlamp but we mostly have a rating or approval system for car headlights.
