recently found your channel and i love your philosophy on how you make your space and equipment work for you without getting the newest and slickest thing
I can really identify with what you shared about your philosophy towards the end of the video. It also definitely encouraged me to drill more holes into stuff I own
It’s just amazing how this clicks with my own outlook on life, how my workshop tends to «behave» over time and the videos I’ve started making last year on making my filming equipment from cardboard to be able to make youtube-videos and accidentally starting a youtube channel documenting the process while my *original* plan was making all these things to make another channel about something completely different - cheers to making for the sake of making, diy’ing the s**t out of life :)
Just found your channel. Great job. Very Neistat, Tom Sachs approach to the setup and story telling. Love it. The last part is the best. The insight that your needs will always change is just pure wisdom. At a young age, consider yourself blessed. I’ve been looking for perfect van, shop, office tool bag, tool box, etc, etc,etc setup for 32 years. It’s not out there. Inspiration from places like this will make you change your mind and try another idea. So thanks for the inspiration
Now this is a desk you can really get work done on. I see too many youtuber with super-clean desk and immaculate cable management and I wonder what they use their desk for, except to put their gears on. With this type of desk, I don't have to worry about scratching or damaging the table top or worrying about spilling something. It would be ideal for working.
Exactly. I literally drill holes in it all the time, get pens flowing on it, clean paintbrushes, it’s so useful to have a surface that I don’t need to worry about
I like the cut of your jib! The environment you operate in is huge and being able to do whatever you want in your environment lets you be really flexible and creative. I like the way you think and subbed!
If i had the option to walk into that room and another room with all the expensive up to date tech I think i would easily be bored with the high expensive things ppl buy and i most likely would be worried about touching something and breaking it if they even allow me to touch it. In your setup i feel like i can walk in and ask you lemme draw some graffiti on the desk or move things around and touch things and just be amazed at how you put these things together. well done with the video and setup. keep making more vids like this and shove it down these fancy dudes throats that the latest and greatest aint that cool.
Thanks man, thats what its all about- making what you got work for you instead of constantly buying the newest. I checked out your channel too- good stuff
Cool build. The prototype then iterate cycle is one of the best ways to get feedback quickly and get to the best result in the long term. It’s just too hard to make all of the correct decisions from the beginning.
This is giving me willudesign vibes 7:09 I did something similar. Someone had thrown out a fridge so I cut it up and turned it into a whiteboard. I love it when people invent their own tools and contraptions (especially when they're made out of junk)
04:42 crazy things you're doing there. in my first videos i built a camera crane for ceiling mounting. maybe that's an idea for you too. definitely cool stuff... keep it up. best regards from east germany
Love the desk, love the vid, and love me some over-stretched philosophical comments (though tbh it seemed quite fitting). Keep up the good work and keep drilling holes 👏
Hey i live just west of you, i like seeing people fixing things and making cool new ones, if you need help with anything knitting, weaving, sewing, or anything else fiber arts reach out! Id love to help.
put googly eyes on your camera or wrap an old plush toy over the lense. This way, you will have a set of eyes to look towards when you are speaking. Currently your gaze is a bit disoriented shifting from left to right as you speak to the viewer.
Such an odd combination of chaotic yet systematic productivity. I love it.
That’s a good way of describing it lol
The mouse got me. That was brilliant.
It still works!
Same! That caught me off guard 😂
Honestly I'm super impressed with your video & handyman skills and your ability to tell a story. I think you have a bright future in front of you
Thanks! I appreciate that a lot
Loving that desk, there is definitely a certain level of joy and comfort working in a space that is absolutely yours.
Very true
I love this, I get caught up with being a perfectionist with my builds and the overthinking kills my productivity more often than not

So, So, So Good!
Quack :) 🐣
Ben Franklin had a great quote "Keep thy shop and thy shop will keep thee".
Your excellent creative space will leverage your abilities!

This is incredible to see the progress of quality in today's videos and something like this
Your abilities are impressive, and your approach to projects - diving in and confidently making them your own - is inspiring.
Thanks man, means a lot. Especially coming from the creator of a project as ambitious as Movie Movie

You’re like a young and cool Van Neistat, love the setup!

The space definitely has personality. A great presentation 👍
Thanks! I’m only just getting started 😎

i couldn't live like you, but i respect you. great video.
Dang, now you are making me want to build my own desk, haha.
Some 2x4s and some 3/4” plywood is a lot cheaper than most desks that size, I totally recommend it!
Straight LOVE it dude glad I found your channel just great love the style and have given me some great ideas keep it up !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Thanks for the comment! Glad the content is useful!
This is my viiiiiibe. I'd love to collab on a video about prioritizing function over trendy flair sometime.

Definitely not a stretch ❤
Man’s built a desk just for the acetone cabinet
I do be using acetone on a daily basis. I put it on my eggs
bro gets all the style points
Cool build. The prototype then iterate cycle is one of the best ways to get feedback quickly and get to the best result in the long term. It’s just too hard to make all of the correct decisions from the beginning.
Thanks! I’m basically just structuring all aspects of my life as a prototype lol
This is giving me willudesign vibes

I'm guessing you are a fan of Van Neistat. 😊
Of course- I’m copying a lot from his videos haha. Gotta lean on your influences to develop your own style

"not the mouse though; the mouse needs to move"
Old boy forgot the trackball 🖲️
