Ordered a 15 inch 2019 2 days before the announcement, when the 16 inch got announced I drove like I was in a Fast & Furious movie to the apple store and luckily got the order changed without hassle

The keyboard is coming to the 13/14". But I really want to see a reduce in bezels...like really Apple. A dgpu is certainly interesting, though I'm not expecting it.

Rumor is Apple will not just upgrade the keyboard for 13”-14” MBP in 2020. Will probably upgrade lo MBP in 2021-2022 with 2018 Ice Lake Intel mobile CPU!
2019 is the year we see why Jony Ive left Apple. He was prioritising form over functionality. But now, glad to see Apple fixing their issues.

There's no way Jony Ive didn't have a hand in the 16" MBP considering he's only left relatively recently. This may have been the cause of a disagreement that pushed him to leave though.

Thanks to the Verge team for such a good review video. I especially appreciate the binaural sound comparisons. Despite their limited utility, it's simply the best a video can do to simulate the experience of hearing it in person.
A 13/14-inch variant of this would be what I was looking for. I'm still running my old 2011 MBP (I did throw in some extra RAM in there which has helped it somewhat) and, besides the touchbar, this seems to be the closest successor to that age of MBP I've seen in a while.
The MacBook Pro 16"... The. MacBook we should have released 3 years ago. Lol

@@vishalbharadwaj570 True, but people would've been in a rage over them switching over to USB-C even if this was the MBP that was released a few years ago. Now tho everyone's used to the current layout so a lot of the bad mojo they had from before has dissipated.

The Touch Bar is a great feature for the MacBook Pro!
With this MBP I will finally upgrade from my mid 2012. And I can do it with a very peaceful mind.

I still got my Mac book 15 with Retina display mid 2012 got me through two degrees. And still running strong. Just need a new battery now.

Mine just arrived today. So far I am very pleased. The keyboard is worlds better, and what's not to like about additional screen real estate?
To think I just bought a 15" in July...at least I have gotten used to and now like the butterfly keyboard
Some people are reporting an issue with the 16”MacBook Pro.
The speakers make a “popping” sound when they stop playing audio (watching a UA-cam video or editing in Final Cut Pro).
Any thoughts on this? Have you experienced the same problem?

Still rocking my 2008 aluminum unibody MacBook because it still works well for what I need it to do. I’ve maxed out the ram and changed the battery a few times though.

I’ve been waiting to upgrade my late 2011 MacBook Pro but I’m hesitating now because of the lack of faceID / better webcam which I’m betting will come next.
I also think a 14” version might be better if they can still put dedicated graphics in it.
Listening to the microphone test on the 16" MBP and I am amazed

I really like the 16" model!!! I am just a bit sad that they didn't manage to keep the old form factor. I mean, the display is just 0.6" bigger and they still had to increase the size of the laptop. So did the bezels even shrink?

I've just upgraded from a 2015 13inch Macbook pro to this. I could have easily done with the new 2020 13 inch MBP but I just wanted a bigger computer. I love Macbooks!

Since using it with an external display also charges this MacBook, won't it gradually destroy the battery if you leave it constantly connected to a monitor/setup?

Lol sorry to hear that. I also have my mid-2012, still in perfect condition. Replaced the battery last year and gambled on waiting another year. Not sure if that makes you feel better ;)

I probably will wait for the 14” mbp hopefully sometime next year to upgrade.
@@tanmayjeevan I replaced the battery on my mid-2014 mbp 15" and it's been running smooth ever since. It's definitely something I'd recommend to do if you plan on keeping your mbp for a while.

Love the commitment to properly demoing the audio. But, the intro to the binaural section creeped me out.
Can anyone tell me if it’s more worth to get a 15’ 2018 entry level MacBook Pro or the new 2020 entry level 13’ MacBook Pro when it comes out?
I bought it and returned within 14 days. MacBook Pro 16 has some serious heating issues. The FAN turns itself on even if you are browsing the web and doing nothing. The microphone static sound is too loud.
I have a late 2013 13" Macbook pro with the scissor keys and refused to buy one with butterfly keys so yeah I'm considering getting a new one. I do like the magnetized charger though.
I actually like the Touch Bar. Got used to it and missed it when I use another keyboard.
Hey, everyone is talking about all the issues the MacBook has managed to solved. I would really like to know your views using this MacBook with the external monitors because there have been threads going on since a long time about how just connecting an external display leads to heating and FAN noise for the MacBook Pro and the graphics card pulls in very high watt even without performing any intensive tasks.
Well, darn! I purchased the 15" at the end of last year because my my 13" 2010 MacBook Pro could not keep up with my photo processing. Fortunately, I've had no complaints about the 15", and here's hoping!

I love the Touch Bar and it's very useful if you take the time to retrain yourself. Most people don't use most features so I'm not surprised a majority of people aren't motivated to break old habits to learn the usefulness of Touch Bar verses control keys.

How's the touch screen?
I just wish they could toss in some USB type A ports and an SD card slot. It's so frustrating having to cart around dongles, and dongles for my dongles, every where I go. My mid 2015 15" retina, which I still use for most things, is so much easier to just sit down with because it has all those things. I can go from my camera to SD card to Capture One Pro in about 5 seconds and be editing in no time. No hunting down my bag, looking for the dongle, figuring out if its upside down or not...grrr.
Hopefully they will improve the webcam since they improved the mics and they add FaceID.
What about .. heating ..is it heating as before model ?

After having a 2012 MacBook Air 13" & a 27" IMac Desktop that's been a real pain to use, so slow and the screen brightness had gone in the bottom right hand corner, which can be fixed but isn't easy. So for a great price of 1535 Euros I decided to ditch the IMac and 13" MacBook Air and go for the 16" MacBook Pro now that I'm retired and more static in my movements after Euro travel for 35 years, I was a little sceptical having seen the newer Pro's with the latest M1 processors, however watching this great review (many thanks) I am very pleased with my decision with what my needs now are, big enough as a Desktop and good enough to travel with even if a little heavy!
Getting mine monday after my Surface Book 2 crapped out on me. Looking forward to it

The inverted T arrow keys, is a step back. The previous layout was more uniformed and just made sense.
I love my fully spec'd MacBook Pro 16". Yes it does get hot, but honestly, I don't use it on my lap. It's on a stand. Speakers are outstanding and I came from a 15" 2015 MacBook Pro and it's identical in size and thickness.
Has "MacOS Catalina Has Major Problems On MacBook Pro" fixed yet due to new Music app instead of iTunes for many dj apps and dj controllers?
That internal mic is actually pretty good! It's still hollow, but better than the other internal mics with which you compare. I'd say it's on par with or better than the in-wire mic from the standard Apple wired headphones. Most people in that use case of public space or VoIP call/video conference use that earbud/mic combo thingie. If you had a small room to yourself, the internal mic would be fine.
had mine for a week and pretty stoked...Faster than my 5k iMac that we use to edit 8k RED footage...Slightly faster. but still. Plus whoever the dude is that came up with the bettertouch bar app is my hero.
But the speakers do have a big issue with a popping sound when skipping and pausing in various programs

Yes I Know this Mac Book Pro 16in is for me,. about to trade in a late 2013 Mac Book pro which has been great.
