Bro. THe new keyboard is MUSHY as hell. How you coming at the butterfly keybaord like it's worst? It's not worst. Butterfly keys feel better than this mushy ass mess.
Just got mine. Having owned and used every generation of MacBook Pro, I can agree that this one is undoubtedly the best yet. The keyboard is incredible, and the speakers are impossible to believe until you hear them. Very happy with this laptop.
I ordered the 16" MBP the day it was announced... It's sitting right next to me.... I'm still watching videos about the 16" MBP, weeks later. I do not understand why.....

I got the 2.4 i9 32gb ram 1tb ssd, and editing on this MacBook is STUPID FAST. I love it. it renders my videos super quick, and exports take a 1-2 min for a 6-8min 4k project. im super impressed with this computer.
I underestimated how amazing the speakers are on this beast. I was listening to a song for the first time on the 16-inch MacBook Pro and it honestly feels like you're being transported and enveloped in the music. Imagine seeing colour for the first time, there's this amazing depth to a laptop's speakers which you never thought were possible.
It’s almost torture to watch this all while I’ve been waiting for my 16” MBP all day. It’s been delayed twice. But now it’s actually out for delivery. The wait is extreme.
Blue Skyla I know I ordered mine the day before Black Friday and it arrived December 10th. I Almost cracked from the wait but I can’t even open it till Christmas because I borrowed a bit of cash from my parents and there terms were for me to pay it back by Christmas and wait for Christmas to make it more special. This makes me sound like a little child but I’m not lol. Just didn’t have 3000 grand on hand cause I’m in school still and I wanted a Black Friday deal which I got one 2690 including tax and shipping for i9 2.3, 1tb ssd, 5500m 8gb, 16gb of ram. Also it was From Apple
MBP 2019 16 inch is simply the best one they ever made. Touch Bar, physical ESC key and best speakers. Sleek as well and aging extremely well. I pick this one over any 2022 model hands down, money not a factor.
Loving my New MacBook Pro 16IN! Just got it less then 24hrs ago! So excited to start running it through it's paces, very impressed so far! Upgraded from (2012 Retina display) Which I believe was the last MacBook that was worth calling an Upgrade! THIS COMPUTER IS AMAZING!!! Can't wait to do my photo editing!!!
I am one of those people that bought a 15-inch mid-2019 MacBook Pro with i9 processor. I want the new 16-inch late-2019 MacBook Pro but I am resisting so far and probably will wait until the next processor upgrade before I upgrade to the 16-inch version.
the 16 seems to have improved what was there to improve but the "old" 15 I don't think is so bad. I have not heard of keyboard problems with the 2019 variant. We hope to renew also 13.
I got a 15" about a month before the 16" came out & was lucky enough to trade it in @ only $140 more. It was WELL worth the upgrade. The keyboard alone feels like heaven compared to the 15".
Windows 10 update wiped my hard drive. Best buy bought this one a few hours ago. I'm now a MAC person again. First Mac was the literal first macintosh in 1984. Now to learn how to use a Mac. Ssd is nice. Guess y'all are used to them. HPs still use sata 5200!
You can thank Jony Ive’s obsession with thinness for that butterfly keyboard. Now that he’s gone, the last year has had some of the best Apple products in years.
No, but seriously... how’s the keyboard? Lol! Good video and I agree with your disappointments on the 16” MBP. I recently got mine and I love it. The sound quality is AMAZING! I watched a tv show from Apple TV+, had the laptop sitting on my legs and holy crap, it was like having a surround sound. I tried it with a video I downloaded and it’s not the same tho, but sounded good nonetheless. Cheers!
Just Bought a MacBook Pro 16inch 1TB SSD 16GB RAM i9 8 Cores (Torbo bost 4.6Ghz) and AMD Radeon Pro 5500M (4 GB) And I just loving it!! Never had better
It's not true. That's a relative sizing scale. The fonts and UI elements are rendered pixel perfect at any scale setting. The reviewer totally misunderstood how it works.
I couldn't decide between the 16 inch or the 13 inch so I went with the 13 and purchased it yesterday. I wish they had a 14 inch or that they would go back to the 15. The 16 is just way too big for me especially since I travel a lot. Thank you for showing the difference in size between the two. It reaffirmed that I made the right decision. Overall, great video! Thanks for sharing!
Great review very detailed and insightful! Seems like every other pro-Apple reviewers keep saying that the keyboard wasn’t that bad and it’s crazy to hear because it drove me crazy
Am I the only one listening to this guys voice as he uses the inbuilt mic and thinking, this guy would be perfect for a late night radio show. Or would be an outstanding vocalist?
Regarding the keyboard, the mere issue left to me is inclusion of a number pad. Frankly, I don’t really need a “studios quality” pair of speakers on a mobile device because all in all they’re still incomparable to a dedicated Bluetooth speaker. I wish Apple will make a good use of the space on both sides -- shrinking the speakers to make room for a number pad which is vital to a lot of pro users.
I used macbook pro 2017 version for 2 years, was happy about it, and then from december use the new 16 inch. Just want to confirm - it is just perfect! I cannot find a single thing that is bad, annoying or bothering me. Best Mac ever probably.
Great segment, really helpful and informative, thank you!. I now really know which 2019 16" Macbook pro to buy. I'm going with the i9 processor, seems like a no brainer (for me) it's totally worth the extra money, for the extra specs.
It's a shame it took Apple this long to fix the keyboard. I've already replaced my Macbook Pro with its broken keyboard with a ThinkPad X1 Extreme and I freaking love it and don't see myself switching back anytime soon as much as i miss MacOS .
Went from 2013 Retina Macbook Pro to the new 16” and I have to say keyboard is still bit of an issue with the touch bar junk. The amount of time i have accidentally cranked the volume / brightness up or down multiple times a day is annoying. Other then that loving it.
Think you are the only reviewer actually cares about 2:1 pixel mapping. I am the same here that crisp sharp texts. Currently set my resolution to 1440x900 on 15 inch.
Just a heads up the screen is super sensitive, mine got a small hairline crack without me doing anything all I did was open the laptop, had to return it and get a new one which they didn't wanna do at first because off course they tried to blame me.
I'm a composer and I just bought a 16 inch macbook pro. After 3 days working without any problems, the fans started to go nuts, and now the laptop is unresponsive. I tried everything with SMC reinitialazation, but it did not resolv the problem. A major disappointment, because I travel alot, and it is not something I would expect from such an expensive gear.
Bakk-Dávid László also if you laptop is not working at all if it not turning on then you can’t do this but if OS X is not working then you can try restoring it with recovery mode here how to do so just open up recovery mode by holding down command+R when the you boot the Mac up, next connect your internet with in the recovery mode so later on so you can reinstall OS X, now just go to disk utility, click you ssd click erase and now go to Mac install application on recovery mode you sure see all of this stuff very easily since it right there for new users after this it will automatically reset you right into booting up Mac OS X if this fixed your problem then things sure be running fine after this but if not just take your computer to a Apple store.( dm on discord and I can try help you if needed SirSteven#3332 only if you have discord and also I have discord where I help fix people problems here the invite link discord.gg/ysz5fQa

I've been offered the exact same configuration for 520 USD equiv. He also had an iPhone 11 Pro Max, 128 for sale for 260 USD equiv. I suggested 722 USD equiv. for both and he accepted. Can't wait to get them. I have a 2015 13" Macbook Pro that is beginning to show its age, and I always thought the screen on the iPhone 11 is too small.
Is there any chance that when Apple finally comes out with a new (scissor) keyboard for the MacBook Air that it can be retrofitted to existing MacBook Airs? I'm dreaming, right?
@@9to5Mac I installed the "unshaky" app which helps a lot with duplicate character generation. It's a bandaid but it works well. unshaky.nestederror.com/ I spent more on my first Mac than any other and my reward was a flakey keyboard.
Man, I tolerated the butterfly keyboard but ever since I started using the 16", the butterfly keyboard feels so bad and I just appreciate the 16" so much more. Ugh!
You are not alone, we are a dying breed, haha! I was the only one in my office that liked it when when I first got my 2016 MBP 15". It was so strange to me for about a week, once I got used to it, I could type really fast and accurate. It requires a muscle memory adjustment. I still love it.
I just love how these reviewers hardly say anything about the butterfly keyboards beyond they aren't a fan then the new one comes out and the butterfly keyboards are trash, garbage, terrible ect." typical... I have not had one issue with my late 2016 MBP 15... Most don't have issues but some have. The ones that have issues are people that eat over them ect...
Anyone with the new MBP 16" experiencing really loud fan noise for a long duration? I got mine yesterday and it feels like its always on. NO ONE mentioned this annoyance. NOT ONE review on youtube.

@@joshanesagoo5793 Nahh, I'm not saying it ll crash your HD every time. I did use it for a little while and had no issues. But it did do that to my HD on two different occasions. It wasn't worth the risk installing it a 3rd time. I just wanted to warn people that it can happen. That's all. Someone told me that MacOS already gets rid of corrupted files and viruses on it's own. Without needing to download any extra Software. But if it works for you then nvm. Haha. Again, I just wanted to warn people about what could happen. Have a good one...
You completely misunderstood the display scaling. There is no drop in quality at any setting. That is purely a relative sizing scale. Fonts and UI elements are rendered pixel perfect at any scale setting.
Mine is supposedly coming in this coming Wednesday. This will be replacing my aging 2014 13 inch MBP which is really only good for basic computer usage now. Now I need to remember my Time Machine password so I can use my backup when setting up my new MBP.
The butterfly keyboard isn’t a terrible keyboard it’s just what you prefer. Some people really like red mech switches some hate them, same with blues, browns, blacks etc

I am thinking about buying this but I am still in shocked that the front camera is so outdated. I use to create post from my iMac desktop in the past and would have loved to see a way better camera on this laptop especially at this price.
i have the base 13 inch model for photo editing and its my main computer now. I hope this keyboard doesnt brake like the old models. At least it has got 4 years of warranty on the keyboard.

I am eagerly anticipating a gaming Mac from Apple. This is interesting. It was iOS that games were dominating on. Now on the Mac? I just might be interested. The Mac from Apple made specifically for gaming will be the might be one of the best selling Macs out there. If only it had Nvidia.
1 tb is the max that makes sense. The tiny screen increase from 15.4 to 15.9 is barely noticeable. It's haevier, and you didn't like the sponginess of keys. So what's left? Speakers and a better graphics card. None of that matters for Photoshop. That being said , it doesn't cost more than regular 2019 15.4", so might as well go for it. 8 core model should be chosen, forget the 6 core, that's ,2017/2018.
too many issues already heating up, battery frains mega fast, touch bar freezes. when editing and multitasking there is risks of reboot the 16 inch is a failure
Hello there Jeff! Thank you for your videos. Even though I am new to the Apple world, I am already enjoying it with my I phone 11 (my first Apple product). I am new to Apple and I just decided to move from Windows pc and I just bought a 2019 16’ Macbook pro. I am excited but also worry coming from windows all my life. My question to you Jeff is if I need an antivirus for my new MacBook Pro. Are there a real reliable antivirus for a MacBook Pro? Are they lightweight at all? I have always heard Macs never need an antivirus software, it will never happens, bla bla and more bla. I think that is not that true now. And that is why I am clueless and a little worry since I just bought my first Mac computer and it is going to arrive between 15 or 17 days from today. Please Jeff can you give me a sincere advice about antivirus topic?

Is there any chance that when Apple finally comes out with a new (scissor) keyboard for the MacBook Air that it can be retrofitted to existing MacBook Airs? I'm dreaming, right?

@@9to5Mac I installed the "unshaky" app which helps a lot with duplicate character generation. It's a bandaid but it works well. unshaky.nestederror.com/ I spent more on my first Mac than any other and my reward was a flakey keyboard.
Well I think the most logical next step would be to implement this keyboard in the smaller models, and in the air if it fits.

Man, I tolerated the butterfly keyboard but ever since I started using the 16", the butterfly keyboard feels so bad and I just appreciate the 16" so much more. Ugh!

You are not alone, we are a dying breed, haha! I was the only one in my office that liked it when when I first got my 2016 MBP 15". It was so strange to me for about a week, once I got used to it, I could type really fast and accurate. It requires a muscle memory adjustment. I still love it.

I just love how these reviewers hardly say anything about the butterfly keyboards beyond they aren't a fan then the new one comes out and the butterfly keyboards are trash, garbage, terrible ect." typical... I have not had one issue with my late 2016 MBP 15... Most don't have issues but some have. The ones that have issues are people that eat over them ect...

ll crash your HD every time. I did use it for a little while and had no issues. But it did do that to my HD on two different occasions. It wasn't worth the risk installing it a 3rd time. I just wanted to warn people that it can happen. That's all. Someone told me that MacOS already gets rid of corrupted files and viruses on it's own. Without needing to download any extra Software. But if it works for you then nvm. Haha. Again, I just wanted to warn people about what could happen. Have a good one...
You completely misunderstood the display scaling. There is no drop in quality at any setting. That is purely a relative sizing scale. Fonts and UI elements are rendered pixel perfect at any scale setting.
Mine is supposedly coming in this coming Wednesday. This will be replacing my aging 2014 13 inch MBP which is really only good for basic computer usage now. Now I need to remember my Time Machine password so I can use my backup when setting up my new MBP.
The butterfly keyboard isn’t a terrible keyboard it’s just what you prefer. Some people really like red mech switches some hate them, same with blues, browns, blacks etc
What about the problems? I have decided to wait a few months before ordering it.. Ghosting problem, Popping sound, Eye strain due to ghosting etc.

I am thinking about buying this but I am still in shocked that the front camera is so outdated. I use to create post from my iMac desktop in the past and would have loved to see a way better camera on this laptop especially at this price.
i have the base 13 inch model for photo editing and its my main computer now. I hope this keyboard doesnt brake like the old models. At least it has got 4 years of warranty on the keyboard.

Is it good plan for 2022/2023 buy this laptop 💻?
1 tb is the max that makes sense. The tiny screen increase from 15.4 to 15.9 is barely noticeable. It's haevier, and you didn't like the sponginess of keys. So what's left? Speakers and a better graphics card. None of that matters for Photoshop. That being said , it doesn't cost more than regular 2019 15.4", so might as well go for it. 8 core model should be chosen, forget the 6 core, that's ,2017/2018.

too many issues already heating up, battery frains mega fast, touch bar freezes. when editing and multitasking there is risks of reboot the 16 inch is a failure
Hello there Jeff! Thank you for your videos. Even though I am new to the Apple world, I am already enjoying it with my I phone 11 (my first Apple product). I am new to Apple and I just decided to move from Windows pc and I just bought a 2019 16’ Macbook pro. I am excited but also worry coming from windows all my life. My question to you Jeff is if I need an antivirus for my new MacBook Pro. Are there a real reliable antivirus for a MacBook Pro? Are they lightweight at all? I have always heard Macs never need an antivirus software, it will never happens, bla bla and more bla. I think that is not that true now. And that is why I am clueless and a little worry since I just bought my first Mac computer and it is going to arrive between 15 or 17 days from today. Please Jeff can you give me a sincere advice about antivirus topic?
