I love my 16 inch MacBook Pro and I love it! the best computer ever!!! I upgraded from a 2011 MacBook Pro to the 16 base model and it's fast fast coming from a 2011 MacBook. I told my 16 inch that I love it last night!! I love the keyboard didn't like the butterfly keyboard off the 19 MacBook Pro 13 inch. The speakers is REALLY REALY LOUD!!!! and finally the screen is so good! battery life is so good! good job apple oh and by the way it's so much lighter than my 2011 13 inch MacBook Pro!!! whooohooo I'm a satisfied customer!!! It was a pleasure typing this long paragraph! oh man I love this keyboard!

VC_Ghost I think the extra cost isn’t as much about the price of the extra RAM as much as it is a cost you are paying for a version of the product that is in a non-standard configuration. Given you are already paying a premium if you choose to go with an Apple product, it would be nice to see Apple engineer more modularity into their design so their machines could be more upgradable and repairable. I’m not entirely opposed to the idea of integrating components into the motherboard for something like a cellphone or a laptop, but if even the manufacturer doesn’t have the capability to upgrade or repair those components in a cost effective way, it just doesn’t seem worth it.
I'm still using a 15" MBP 2008 which is the same model that you showed in your video with the silver keyboard. Best laptop Apple ever made except for the crappy Nvidia GPU that kept failing and caused me to get numerous logic board replacements.
guys comming from a windows computer, the scren is crazy sharp, the colours are crazy good and the whites and darks are perfect. I love editing on this machine. Its worth the cash
The 1st thing I noticed about the size difference between the 16 and last gen 15 was all the thickness in on the body, so when open the deck is a lot higher. Not bad but def noticeable. Don’t notice weight difference in my bag but seems more dense for sure in hand.

I dont even live in a necessarily “bad” area and I wouldn’t do this. She probably did it for five minutes literally to get the clip. people need to understand that most MacBook Pros aren't for the average user. This new 16" is just a power horse and although I'm satisfied with my 13", this is just soooo amazing to work on!
Still... I edit video too, quite seriously.... A PC costing half of that will do the same and more. Even with one PC machine costing 1/3 of that, you're good. But I understand emotional fixation with a brand. I don't have any left, but I can understand it.

Long time graphic designer, illustrator and 3D artist. _Extremely_ happy with my workflows. But also, for basic computer productivity, there are gazillions of apps in Windows (most Linux and Mac users telling me Windows is bad, typically don't know those), of all kind of flavors. I currently use quite a few. (BTW, Notion is in Windows, too). I prefer computer parts affordability (yay, RAM prices in Apple... :-o ) , the larger variety of choice of those, freedom in building my machine for my purposes (which vary through time or even project), etc. But thank you for the advice.

I own a 15 in 2017 Macbook Pro and it will be my last Apple computer. I got it as a photographer because everyone raved about it. After the warranty expired, my screen started having an orange burn like mark on whatever side I last charged the computer on, one of the speakers just popped from not even playing anything, the touch bar freezes constantly, and most recently the haptic feedback motor in my trackpad died. When you compare the specs and and cost for a XPS 15 vs a new Macbook, the difference is astronomical. They keep charging more and more while quality seems to have gone down and people like above just keep feeding into their madness.
While you were enjoying your 16” MacBook Pro, Apple was taking forever to replace my 15” 2018 MacBook Pro keyboard. As an added bonus for the long wait they scratched the screen case. I’m now gifted with the opportunity to take the computer back to Apple store when it’s busiest to be repaired... again.
Merc in the world of a professional. I’m not rich but every machine I use (including this 16” MBP) has 64GB of RAM. Very helpful for multitasking professionals. And $400 more isn’t that much.

linkerSocke it’s not as cheap as going third party in an iMac or putting 64 in a PC build, but if you’re a creator who uses Apple and you have to be mobile (thus using a MBP), $400 really isn’t much. If you’re working on projects worth thousands of dollars, $400 to help you do that is very reasonable. If you’re NOT getting paid to create things, then you A) certainly don’t need the upgrade and 2) probably don’t even need a MBP.

Aluminium unibody built, giant and very precise trackpad (underrated feature of MacBooks), amazing screen, macOS (I've tried using Windows and Linux, it isn't for me), 4 thunderbolt ports (most Notebooks only have one, you can't even connect two 4K displays), amazing performance. I think it's worth it, though I wish Apple also did cheaper hardware for those who don't care about these "fancy" stuff and just want a computer with macOS
Apple should hire her and make her do the keynotes, she would be perfect for that job!

Aluminium unibody built, giant and very precise trackpad (underrated feature of MacBooks), amazing screen, macOS (I've tried using Windows and Linux, it isn't for me), 4 thunderbolt ports (most Notebooks only have one, you can't even connect two 4K displays), amazing performance. I think it's worth it, though I wish Apple also did cheaper hardware for those who don't care about these "fancy" stuff and just want a computer with macOS
The in-between design of the butterfly switches and the scissor switches is a really genius solution from apple's design team.
