    Today's practice is to honor that special time of the month when we bleed. Its an all levels 20 minute yin yoga sequence for your period. We stretch the hips, back and apply some slight compression on the belly to help release tension, bloating and any achy discomfort that may come along with your monthly flow. This is a natural way to ease the pain and find some relief.
    If you're struggling with menstrual cramps, then this class is for you! By practicing Yin Yoga during your period, you'll be able to relieve your pain and tension in a short amount of time. Come learn how to ease your cramps with this 20 minute class!
    The poses held today are a bit shorter, approx. 2 min, but just as effective and beneficial. We end the practice with a brief meditation, a tool you can use going forward!

    What is Yin Yoga? Yin yoga is MAGIC. Well, that is how I would describe it. Yin yoga is a practice that that allows you to go beyond the superficial layers of the body and access the deeper layers. This means in a Yin Yoga practice you are going beyond the muscles and right into the deep connective tissues of the body. Our connective tissues are made up of fascia, ligaments and tendons which surround and form our joints. Therefore, when you practice Yin Yoga you are able to increase your range of motion, your flexibility and strengthen your joints. A win win! If you ask me. Yin yoga is more than stretching, we are “stressing” the connective tissues and we do this with longer holds and intuitive breathing.
    When practicing always remember
    1. Meet the pose at YOUR edge (gradually)
    2. Find stillness and focus on your breath
    3. Resolve to be still

    Soooo glad you made this!! I love your other menstrual yin classes so much, the longer one is actually my favorite thing about that time of the month. I was really hoping you would do another one of these. Looking forward to trying it!

    This was soooo medicinal for me. Thank you. I woke up feeling awful, severe cramps as well as extra moody, sad due to a recent loss of someone close... this class TRULY comforted me physically and emotionally and helped me feel able to cope with the day. Thanks for being here.
    P.s. I paused the video to add reclined knee to chest on both sides bc my hip flexors were tight. Used a heating pad too. So helpful.
