    Today's Yin yoga practice is all about honoring our cycle. Often times we feel the need to go go go and never really take the time to slow down and listen to our inner voice/inner wisdom. So todays class will allow you to tap into that voice and move in a way that feels best for you, moving in ways that support and soothe you. Helping to relieve any symptoms of pms, cramping and bloating.
    At the heart of TCM is energy flow which also affects how our blood flows. The organs associated with menses are the kidneys, liver and spleen. The liver stores blood but also distributes it, so we will be focusing on these meridian lines in this practice.

    What is Yin Yoga? Yin yoga is MAGIC. Well, that is how I would describe it. Yin yoga is a practice that that allows you to go beyond the superficial layers of the body and access the deeper layers. This means in a Yin Yoga practice you are going beyond the muscles and right into the deep connective tissues of the body. Our connective tissues are made up of fascia, ligaments and tendons which surround and form our joints. Therefore, when you practice Yin Yoga you are able to increase your range of motion, your flexibility and strengthen your joints. A win win! If you ask me. Yin yoga is more than stretching, we are “stressing” the connective tissues and we do this with longer holds and intuitive breathing.
    When practicing always remember
    1. Meet the pose at YOUR edge (gradually)
    2. Find stillness and focus on your breath
    3. Resolve to be still

    This was the best moon cycle yoga on youtube. I truly felt nurtured and supported! Please continue to do these and maybe show us how we can use essential oils while doing this or our heating pad etc.

    So soothing and lovely, thank you. I had to opt out of the standing forward fold, it felt impossible for me. Also appreciated the targeting of specific meridian lines, and the line "True wellness is not about intensity - it's about consistency."

    I just subscribed today, and I wanted to tell you why because other channels could learn from you. In your video notes, you listed everything we would need for the practice, here being the bolster and pillow. Simple I know, but it makes everything a bit jarring when you sit on the mat, ready to go, then realize tools will be needed. You have to stop the video, get up, get everything, then get back into the "yoga" frame of mind and sit back down. I am new to yoga and yin yoga for my cycle was something I haven't come across yet, so here I am! Looking forward to learning more.

    This was my first of your classes & I really enjoyed it! Helped to ease my cramps & lower back pain. Happy to subscribe & excited to try more videos soon.
    I had a hard time quieting my mind during long periods of silence. I’m used to other yoga videos that fill the silence with music or more talking that help me ground into the session more, but I think this is a good challenge/reminder for me to work on being able to tap into to my body without needing that constant audio direction to hold onto.
    I especially appreciated the reminder at the end about not needing intensity and the importance of building a regular practice. I’ve had a hard time not guilting myself for not having the energy & motivation for higher energy/cardio workouts in the last many months (maybe a year or more), but my body has been asking for slower, grounding practices so that’s what I’m giving her 💕

    I love the timing of this video. Love that you suggest we spent more time in each posture than the most of the videos I had found. It helps calming down, very good. Also, this particular video was important to me because it inspired me to practise asanas in extended duration each one in some sessions. Thank you!
    The sound is a little bit low sometimes, but it's not impossible to hear it.
    I have heard that usually is not a good ideia doing the stand up pose you did in the period, I heard a teacher saying that inverted asanas are not appropriate for period. Can you explain your motivation for this pose in this particular session?

      Hey Paula, thank you for your feedback. As for the standing fold. I believe that is it would depend on the individual and their body, knowing what feels good and what works for in that moment. The pillow does provide comfort and aids in the relaxation bit. For myself, during my cycle I like to feel "closed in" its comforting.

    This was such a lovely way to start my morning :) Also, yours is the first session where I did not have to adjust the playback speed! It was very easy to follow and though I had to make some adjustment for not having a bolster, I felt peaceful and experienced gentle stretching, which is exactly what I was looking for. It was not rushed and I appreciated the gentle breaks in between poses. As well, finishing off with my hands on my belly was wonderfully calming-it felt even nicer when I put my hands directly on my skin
