we need Steve Mcdonald kits @ Canada
Thanks very useful. Ive already utilizes the cardboard box to cover the resins overnight, now when we get a new box I'll grab it, tell my husband, hey I can use that for something and my husband just shakes his head 😂. Lol. Thanks for sharing, it definitely helped me.
Another great thing to use as a cover is those picnic dish covers. The dollar tree here in the United States has them sometimes
Hi Steve, new here, and I have to say that you are an absolute DELIGHT to watch & learn from! Thank you so much! Love & respect from Michigan!
When covering for curing, make sure you have an area raised to release heat.
I learn so much from these videos
Yes he is adorable!😘
You're such a cutie!
Thanks so much. That was great help. You have a lively singing voice too😘
Hiya Steve. I am 75 in yrs, have watched many youtube demos for 3 months now for dot painting and Resin work.
I want to thank you for your demos. ALL your Demos include: DO'S and DONT'S.
CAN and Can'ts. Your site does it ALL. If I think a question in my head, I go to you.
Thank you, U are my HERO.
From Shirley in AUSTRALIA.
It's amazing new friend here 😄👍
I was going to buy a picnic tent platter cover to go over my curing projects.
It's only a couple of bucks on TEMU.
I also use food service gloves over my regular good blue gloves. So when I get sticky I can switch them.
Uh I also use arm protectors to avoid the sticky too.
I might also get a dedicated apron from TEMU too. Not for the stickiness but because I dropped glitter on my jeans.
Love you Steve 😊
I enjoy your teachings so much...do you except gifts? I have no money but I am an Artist...
Great list of goodies!! I've never seen those leveling tables, definitely going to grab one or two of those!! Thanks for sharing Steve 👊
Loving being a part of the members group! Definitely recommend it for any level of creator! Such a lovely and helpful community.
Edit: can't wait to try out micro brushes doing detail work!
My Amazon wish list is getting really long lol ;)
You can never have too many tools!
Ok,ok I can’t take a chance of them being gone so I ordered your kit today 🤣🤣
I want to thank you for helping me in my resin work--everything I know, I learned from you--especially about PPE. Thank you for sharing your passion with us.
Thank you for the good tips
Need my Mica powder. I use it in paper craft. Now in resin. It's almost as fun as a kaleidescope
I love all of your videos and appreciate you sharing your list of must-have tools! I have most of them and couldn't live without them. Thank you Steve 😊!!!
Thanks so much Steve!!
LOVE LOVE LOVE your videos! Can't live without.... a turn table. Mine was for cakes, abt 12" diameter... looking for a really cheap flat 20" lazy susan. Rotating pieces while working is so much easier than reaching over or around.. Can work on multiple pieces comfortably. Give me additional flexibility to be more abstract on product also. I hold the cup up over pouring a stream and turn or spin as I like.... can even spin it fast enough to get the resin to spread.... I also use it when painting items like vases, touch ups, etc.
Glad I'm Not the only one that uses a giant cardboard box for a cover! Mine is kinda decorative as it’s actually an apple crate from the grocery store :)
Great 👍 video!
I just recently found your channel. You have turned into my new Netflix! Thank you for your videos. I appreciate you. Have a happy day.
Wow 😳 I'm first on??? Got to get some of these!!
What would you use on the leveling mat if you wanted to put a frame on it to do paint pouring?
It's a silicone top, so paint would peel right off, but I'd use butcher/parchment paper so I wouldn't have to wait for the paint to dry.
I got a leveling table because i seen a video where you had one. I did treat myself and got it as a christmas present for myself lol. I love it! Thank you for the video's ( I try some of your ideal's as well) ,advice and product recommendations! ( also got some micro brushes and the JDiction uv resin because of you) Couldn't be happier. Much love from KY USA
Hi love your videos.
Thanks for the video, tips I can make use of.
Thank you for such a informative video.
Panda Hall good for jewellery tools beads ect
Thank you very much blessings.
another great video thanks. You introduced me to micro brushes some time ago and must say they are so useful for so many things. I don't do a lot of resin work - usually I make small and tiny log fairy houses or log cabins for friends and I'm nowhere near as cleaver as you are but these little brushes help me in so many ways such as painting tiny areas which are difficult to get to and also for adding very small amounts of glue to small areas. So thanks for our info and I look forward to the next video.
GREAT tips Steve! I love having a magnetic strip to hold all my tweezers. I can grab them in a hurry if I need to and I always know where they will be. My second tip is organization. Steve you are the Organization King! 🤴 Thirdly Education is not free, give back to those who have helped you learn something new! 😉
Always helpful hints!!!
I finally joined your membership. Looking forward to enjoying it.
you should see if that blue silicone mat glows. for some reason ours does and looks just like yours
I really need to get a leveling table.
Thanks
I love your excitement! Great tips. Thanks Steve!
Wow the only tool I don't have is microfiber brushes. I do have silicone brushes so I guess that is okay 👍
The kit is great.
I would never have bought UV resin. But it was in my kit and now I see it's great for certain projects
Awesome selection Steve. Will be looking at some of them. Please however do something about your mic. It keeps booming whenever you touch your work surface. The vibration goes up the mic. The thing is it never used to do that till recently so maybe you changed its position.
I used your kit today for my first time making something with resin. I had so much fun experimenting!
Hi Steve, Thank you for sharing all your very useful hints & tips very much appreciated Lin 🤗👍
Have you seen the coaster moulds for resin on Ali Express, where the sample shown is multi coloured? I wondered if you knew how that is achieved?
The way you say bye warms my heart! 😊 I have most of the things you’ve mentioned here except the JDiction kit but I’ll have to wait until next month after the bills are paid to see if I can afford it! lol
I've had the J Diction kit on my Amazon wish list for a few months. Since you said they're a limited stock, I just finally ordered it.
I actually bought the leveling boards on your advice and love it. My sister is wanting to start resin so next payday i am ordering your kit for her to start with.
So glad I found your channel! I'm just starting out with uv resin, and having a blast🤗
Love this video!!! As you were going through the list of tools, I was pleasantly surprised to see that I either have or have on order almost all of them!!! Still in need of a leveling and heat gun. Even if I don't have all of it, it's just a matter of time till I do get it. Just realized that I NEED TO GET a UV light for going to shows without a worry about power outlets. So that is what will be in my next order.
Also, wanting to get a die cutting machine.....
Stay safe, you do you, and stay crafty 👍👍🛎️🔔🦋🦋
Thank you very much!!!
Some of them I have from jewelry making and beadwork.
I have your resin kit.
In the United States, Wal-Mart is my source for long necked lighters.
How do clean the equipment,,,love these videos
Hi Steve, thank you for another wonderful video! Do you any suggestions on how long to leave a project under a uv light? Thank you. 😊
My nephew got me one of your kits for Christmas. :) That mixer is kind of neat. Does it cause more bubbles? There's not a level surface in my house at all. One of these levelling tables would be perfect for me.
I made my own with a large tray & 4 leveling feet from Amazon. Plus a level.
It was a pain though. But that may have just been me being unable to figure out which leg needed adjusting to level it.
Probably easier to buy one but I had the tray & it was only $7 for the feet.
Steve I love your work, but I got one of them tables from j d I am very disappointed with it it has warped 😢
LOVE you, love your channel, love your creativity, your never afraid to try something.
Can I ask your advice, I'm looking into a vacuum pot and pump, which do you like, I'm only a hobbyist, so not professional, I have about £150, total. THANK YOUUUUUUU
Hi Steve, I love your channel and I always look forward to watch when you come on, I have been trying to find a black pigment paste but I can only find liquid or powder in black is there any that you could recommend or is there a reason I can't find paste, thank you for all of your videos I just love you,
Was researching deburring tools for resin crafts like jewelry. Do you use it? Thank you for sharing your creative skills.
What do you do with the micro brushes when you're done? They look thin enough to be cut up into small pieces with your snippers and make something new you can mix into your resin projects! I'd love to see what you could do with them to keep them from becoming waste, especially since I know you keep your drips and spillovers for future projects
Steeeve. In one of your videos I seen you using a giant muddler to break glass up smaller size. Can you tell me if you bought that as a set or if that’s something that you just put together? I am buying quarter inch fire glass, but I would like it to be smaller. If you are able to give me the information I will thank you ahead of time.
Steve I love your videos! Can you use a styrofoam box instead of a cardboard box?
Mary, you sure can! I prefer that, as cardboard can be pretty dusty. Plus, they're a bit sturdier if it's made from a firmly molded foam.
Hi Steve, what is the relevance of the M L etc?
Hi Steve, I got the resin mixer and loved it until it stopped working. After only 5 or 6 uses, fully charged, the mixer totally stopped working. It did not respond at all. Do you have any suggestion what might have happened? I am returning it tomorrow.
Question. How do you prevent UV resin to not be tacky? Mine is cured but it feels rubbery. Do all UV resins feel tacky or rubbery? Thanks!
Absolutely not, unless it's a soft cure UV resin. I use JDiction UV resin exclusively, and it NEVER is sticky or bendy! You *must* have a good curing lamp, though! Just make sure the coloring agents you use are not opaque, nor more than about 8% of the resin volume.
I got my micro brushes,my resperator, respirator, board ,my let's resin UV but not the kit,my uv pigments, and my lighter duty heat gun. Can you just get the paddels, paddles, would they work, with my drumal??? Oh I have my Roxy Epoxy, that I got over a year ago, never even been taken out of the box ,will it still be good to use??? It's a 64oz set
,hi there I only found you last week and would love to buy one of your boxes with all-sorts in it or am I too late x
Phoebe, you need to go into the video description box, tap "more" to open it. Should be a full list of everything.
Do you wear a like a painters mask/respiratory mask to protect you from fumes?
Jill, he does! He is super allergic to resin, so he practically wears full body armor! JK! He has at least one good video on what PPE he uses. When he resins, he records it, but does voiceovers during editing.
I have put this on here before, but I can't find how to get your resin beginning kit. Please send me a link!!!!!
@@SteveMcDonaldArtsandCrafts I found it finally! Thanks.
ive been checking for the kit since it first came out and its always sold out so i gave up.
Follow Steve's link to get the kit. I just got mine about 2 weeks ago.
👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼❤️😉🫵
👍👍👍👏🤲
What happened to Resin Colour?
Your kit is out of stock now 😪
Thanks
My pleasure and thank you
