    Kudos to you. I've watched many lvp videos and read the instructions on the package and NONE of them mention the part about measuring wall to wall first and dividing by the width of the plank. I would have ended up 1/4" short at the end of my room.

      It's an important step! Glad you were able to avoid that happening to you.

    Phenomenal video. You absolutely clarified several things for me that were left out of a lot of the videos that I have watched. Great job!

    Great video! I recently installed LVP in my basement and faced some challenges with leveling the concrete. I used a patching compound to fill low spots, which worked well. The underlayment choice is crucial; I used a moisture barrier too. My LVP has a 12 mil wear layer, and I noticed a difference in durability compared to the 20 mil you mentioned. It’s good to see how tough your flooring is during weight tests. I dropped a 50 lb plate on mine, and it held up fine! Thanks for the tips on cutting around angled walls; I struggled with that too!

    Excellent video. I noticed your support pillars at the end of the video, how did you covered them up?

      I boxed them in using some 1x8 lumber. I will actually be posting a video showing the full process, but it will probably be a couple of months at least.

    Great video. Did you remove the spacers against the wall after everything was completed?

    • @buildsbymaz
      @buildsbymaz  2 дні тому

      Yes! That is very important to do, otherwise the floor won't be able to expand.

    In older homes a lot of basement floors are angled slightly intentionally, so that water flows towards the drain. So in those cases, you might want to not level it out.

    • @buildsbymaz
      @buildsbymaz  18 днів тому +1

      Very true! The leveling compound is really just meant for small uneven dips in the subfloor

    I've been scouring youtube for videos and for whatever reason, I could not understand them. When I saw your Adidas sandals, I looked down at my feet and saw I was wearing the same ones with the same paint and dirt marring them, I realized why this video finally clicked with me lol.

    So what do you do when water floods the basement and gets trapped between the plastic barrier and bottom of planks? Not good scenario.

      There weren't any baseboards to begin with, so I did add them after the flooring was finished.

    Planning to go with LVP but wondering if I need to raise my base cabinets to accommodate for dishwasher. How thick is it installed? Thx.

    • @buildsbymaz
      @buildsbymaz  3 місяці тому +1

      Its 5 millimeters thick. When I installed it in my kitchen, I actually did it just to the front of the dishwasher, which is another option. I have that footage in my other LVP video.
