This video made me realize something. I've always had low dopamine levels thanks to my super fun ADHD which as always made it harder to enjoy certain things people do for that sweet chemical hit. People always say that excersize while hard makes them feel good afterwards, it never has for me. So while i have some social media (it's very hard not to in modern society) i barely spend any time on it. Don't have Instagram, TikTok or even Twitter. And i'm not saying this to be all smug and superior but it's wild that i didn't register that the reason people are addicted to social media is dopamine. And for once my barely functioning brain actually works for me. Huzzah now back to trying to trick myself into doing useful work.
Hiya, Freya :) I am totally on board with you regarding social media. I do have a Twitter account, but it's totally private. I use it like a diary, noting down when I take my meds and how I am feeling at the time. I'm physically disabled, but that also affects my mental health. I learned some years ago that having an active Twitter account was not good for that. I still have the "public" one, but only in case I feel like I have to share some news. I don't even go to the account, I just use the "share with" option, hit send or whatever it is, and go back to what I was doing. As an aside, you said exercise doesn't raise your spirits, as it were, but have you tried singing? Either belting out favourite tunes at home or joining a choir (preferably a large one because it works better amongst others feeling the same way. It's a "the more the merrier" thing). It's always been something that I love to do, though choirs are no longer possible for me (I used to perform solos back in the day, but I developed crippling stage fright. Another reason for singing with a lot of people!). I find it gives the ultimate "clean high", so to speak. The longer and louder you do it, the better you feel. I know many others who joined choirs as much for the friendship as the music, but everyone has said how they "fly" back home after practice or a concert. I promise I am not trying to patronise you in any way (my youngest has ADD and the next one up is on the Asperger's spectrum, so I get it. I know very well that treatments - medical or otherwise - are completely personal), or even saying this *will* be good for your dopamine, it just works for me and those I've ever spoken to about it. It _might_ help, and it's a lot more fun than hitting the gym! Even if it's in the shower, sing a favourite song as loud as you can. It could help you get that buzz that is missing from so many of our lives. Best wishes to you. I hope you are happy, and if so, you stay that way. If not, you find something that makes you happy (there are lots of possible hobbies, for example, that can affect your mood positively). Take care :D
@@y_fam_goeglyd Thank you for your kind words. I do actually like singing although more often than not just listening to some good tunes moves the needle a little. Anyway just wanted to say thanks because of how long and thoughtful your comment was. Hope you have a lovely day/night 😄
I feel the same way :p though i can doom scroll facebook because of bordom but i use it just to find books to read mostly now. Yeah - I've never done Instagram, FaceBook, nor Tik Tok. I used Twitter for a bit many, many years ago for about a year during the Obama administration. Mostly, it's just UA-cam nowadays. Honestly, the ONLY thing most social media platforms are good for is sharing pictures of your kids and pets to your family. Anything past that gets toxic in a heartbeat.
I stopped using Facebook, and on Twitter, I mostly follow a bunch of people who make cute art. Also, I mostly use it via TweetDeck, which only shows their tweets and whatever they like and RT. It's made things a lot more pleasant and bearable. 😌
I also stopped using facebook, the only social media I use is UA-cam. I could make my wife to quit and delete tiktok from her phone, I called that a win. Life is much better without all that crap, quitting social media is as good to your mental health as quit drinking/smoking to your physical health.
😃 Gotta love Roger's 'doo-dads' [insert registered trademark, here]. They're the *signature secret sauce* of all of his commercials and commentaries. 🏷
Thanks for producing another episode of Roger. I enjoy this playful insights into modern culture and current events. It appears this one shows us the dangers of social media to appeal to peoples need for engagement to the point of addiction. Human nature, following the path of least resistence, turns people into use of social media as an instrument of dopamine generation. Worse still, it promotes a culture of immature emotional expression and reation, all while eclipsing mature dissemination of useful information about health, money and relationships.
I make intellectual content with pictures and easy/fun/learnfull topics, man, not a lot of people are interested in that. Our brain size is becoming smaller, from 1400cc to 1200cc I believe. We're a 200,000 year old species and here we're. I can't wait to die, fking jesus.
I love Rodger! I'm going to post this to Facebook and see how many of my friends don't respond because of my previous posts against their preferred political party!
I deleted my Mta accounts two months ago. No Facebook, no Insta. No daily insults, no daily arguments with narrow mindet toxic people. Yes, I lost a few people I really liked and shared a similar set of values. But these nice friendly interactions were just a small percentege of my daily dose of social media. Thanks to totally toxic group admins who bully everyone with a slightly different opinion out of the group to keep their bubble nice and clean and free from reasonable conversations. I don't feel sorry I didn't feed your Gottkomplex and your narcicisstic desire to be in control. Yes, I did spend to much time on Facebook and Insta. And blocking me for having a neutral balanced opinion and my annoying asking for science backed sources made me realize: This is not good for my mental health... I think of the Metaverse like an more evil thing like 1984 by Orwell.
Been suspended by Mta so I suspended them back, F-O-R-E-V-E-R. No FB, no insta, no tok doc. Best thing I ever did. Lots of time to do stuff now - my way.

These If X Were Honest videos are freaking hilarious, but also absolutely true, and somehow have the ability to scare me while I'm genuinely laughing out loud! The quality of the writing, as well as the acting, is absolutely at the top IMHO.
Thank you "Team Roger", you all make my day when a new video pops up. And thank you to everyone involved in resurrecting one of UA-cam's best channels. 👏👏👏🥰
Thanks so much for giving us a shot!
Love Roger he looks like butter wouldn't melt but...there's a core of steel inside 😂
The best part is that the only prop not absolutely needed (like the phone) _is a church pew_ - Social Media is the new religion, indeed.
Roger plays his characters so damn well, that i almost don't trust him 🤣 love this stuff lol
I absolutely how Roger videos are on the nose. I really needed a Roger video today. I just wonder what cookie video Roger is going to cover next? Now if only everyone told it how it was, the world to be screwed up but at least we all know people would be honest.
oof, Roger's evil lil grin XD I FELT THAT
love Darnell Eaton's acting, that last part is really great. Trying to google the name if he is the right actor and found out he is a realtor.
Yup haha
Freaking A I LOVE YOU GUYES who created this video! 😆 You Nailed It!!!
I like this channel verry much. Original content still lives
this is the most ironic honest ad considering it's published on a social media platform
This footage is basically gold, you'll have clean footage to AI recreate Rodger perfectly
My favorite part of these videos is the "Hi, *lightly smacks lips* I'm Roger"
He delivers it with that completely fake enthusiasm you see in every ad that it cracks me up every time.
This sums up exactly why I cancelled my twitter and only check facebook to see which of my family members died. UA-cam is the only one I go to, and I keep my notifications turned off.
Finally. Someone that isn't afraid of what people know about them. I can respect that.
You guys never fail!!!
Roggit is the best/worst social media that definitely exists
I have opinions on that
As always check our sources in the description, and shoot me your email here and I’ll send you some behind the scenes stuff we can’t publish on UA-cam. forms.gle/A7JZTU5UR7fr7DxSA
Beat me by 15s
This episode my friend is everything I been seeing for years as fake and why I never had IG or FB etc. Great vid as always. ✌️
That social media affecting a popular website comment really got me in the feels, since I've been following Cracked for...quite some time now.
Show the bloody aftermath of these murders, show that classroom after all the bodies were removed, all the gore and used sponges and gauzes, all the blood soaked clothing and belongings, and bloody shoe prints, rub Americas face in it until they change this shit because now we only get to see as much as a blind person listening to n-p-r!
Can you do "If crytocurrency was Honest" video? Call it "Rogecoin".
Keep it coming Roger!!!I need my dopamine hit on the regular 😂😂
Wonderful. Absolutely wonderful. I remember a while back commenting on a video and asking you to make this video. I'm glad you actually did it.
You're welcome!
I will say that the true danger of social media, goes back to “don’t talk to strangers”, with the bigger problem that you don’t even know the social bracket of this people or if they are even people (both).
Social media, where being an instigator is rewarded.
Just what I needed in my life!
And nice dose of Roger!
Loved the church bench. Looks comfy!
Make them laugh. Make them cry. Pass them off. But never make them think, let alone be rational.
Love ya!
Mr. Roger's final rant sound like something Mr. Carlin will drop in one of his stand up.
Wow, this one is pretty hard-hitting!
Sort of a "he who fights with monsters" but instead, if you're using social media, take care that it doesn't use you.
I realized and deleted my IG account a month ago with a comment- '"Your algorithm is not strong enough".
The irony that this got posted on the same day that a Canadian telecom company called Rogers had an outage that shut down the majority of the internet in Canada.😂
😂
4:24 Feed for nightmares!
And btw, thanks for bringing back this series 😊
You're welcome!
@@cracked And you are awesome for understand me better than my autocorrect... editing to say "Thanks" as should have been 😅
What was this segment in reference to? I don't get it.
The end statement is so true, that is what people are selling democracy and truth for, to do what everyone else is doing
I didn't mean to imply nothing brings me dopamine just that it's usually not much or for very long. But I'm 30, I'm pretty used to it by this point. Anyway just wanted to say thanks because of how long and thoughtful your comment was. Hope you have a lovely day/night 😄
I feel the same way :p though i can doom scroll facebook because of bordom but i use it just to find books to read mostly now. And yea ive always wondered why people feel good at doing things that seem so boring and just .. hard to do like excersize or dishes or ect. Adhd is a hell of a brain chemistry!
@@y_fam_goeglyd holy crap someone really polite! Sorry i just had to call you out because polite is so rare these days. Thabk you! And i ttoally sgrre with whatcha said. I like singing to myself if noone can hear me but am too embarrassed to sing infront of others. For me reading ( i understand being able to read novels is hard for a lot of people woth adhd) gives me that happy feels and video games
Employer: Hey, what is your social media handle?
Me: I don't have one.
E: No, seriously, we need it.
M: No, seriously, I don't have one.
E: 😕
Spot on! Thanks Cracked for having Roger on with great social commentary.
I'm so glad this was algorithm'd to me!
Might be one of best videos you had lately, the sarcastic take on the social media maelstrom is just on point.
Everyone needs to see all his videos
Bear in an Arby's bathroom? That really cracked me up.
@@mikerowave1986same! Congrats ;)
Get lost Putin!
This would have been even funnier if...if it wasn't also true. 🤣
You're Doing The Lord's Work Roger, Bless You !
😃 Gotta love Roger's 'doo-dads' [insert registered trademark, here]. They're the *signature secret sauce* of all of his commercials and commentaries. 🏷
Better share this on social media.
Roger is More Pure Evil than Palpatine! Well Done!!
Never said this before. Based.
That felt as good as I thought it would
I love Rodger! I'm going to post this to Facebook and see how many of my friends don't respond because of my previous posts against their preferred political party!
Glad you are back. These videos make my day
I deleted my Mta accounts two months ago.
Totally relatable. Social media is the cancer of our society
I've deleted everything a year and a half ago too, and i've never been better, best decision i've ever made
What does "Mta" mean? I just now did reseach about this acronym but could find no immediate answer.
Mail transfer agent.
Been suspended by Mta so I suspended them back, F-O-R-E-V-E-R. No FB, no insta, no tok doc. Best thing I ever did. Lots of time to do stuff now - my way.
I love seeing the final version! It was fun seeing your live with this and other topics. Bravo!

Roger: “See, the system works.”
Getting a good rogering cracked me up!
Community did an excellent take on social media in their season 5 episode "App Development and Condiments" back in 2014.
Of course, this is depressingly true for UA-cam, as well. I'm kind of surprised they let you post this, lol!
Man I been waiting for this man. I love when they post da truth 😆
Your best ending of a video yet. So grateful you made this.
Wow, thank you!
Yay! Another honest ads video.
Didn’t expect to cry, what a moving segment
Putting a comment here so that the algorithms will recommend this to more people.
For realz yo this be the truthbiscut we have been waiting for!
I was like, "I need a new Roger video," and here it is, lol
The subtle shade on TikTok.... This is good!
When I was a teenager I deleted my socials and haven't looked back lol. UA-cam is as crazy as I get.
How old are you now?
Same here.
That burst of happiness he got from the first like is how I imagine all people on social media. Frickin hilarious
That's a lot of shade to throw. It's almost like Facebook Video directly led to the termination of Cracked's entire video team at one point...
This is how I feel, everytime I post on social media, especially Tiktok. I'm always grateful for my faithful 80 viewers. ♥️
So, in other words social media hasn't really changed much about media industry practices except make it interactive and cut the cost of content creation by leaving it up to the product... I mean user base.
I love how the video went portrait mode at the end when Roger was giving his finishing thoughts 😂😂😂
