Kashmir is a region of India. The whole feel of the song is mystical and pulls from the music of that area and the Middle East. It's a masterpiece like so many of their songs ❤️
This was a fantastic concert that showed the world that almost 30 years after disbanding they could still wipe the floor with almost every then current band.
I think it’s important that you listen to the original studio version of Kashmir, which is actually a place in India. Listen to the entire “Houses Of The Holy” Album. I think you will understand that as a band, they were always pushing the envelope and expanding the music. This is from a reunion concert some 30 years after the original drummer, John Bonham, passed away. At that point, Led Zeppelin decided to disband rather than proceed without Bonham on the drums. During this Live Reunion Tour John Bonham’s son, Jason Bonham, took over as the drummer and did an excellent job. Led Zeppelin’s music is immersive, and every song is unique and original. They never used auto-tune or anything so in this live version 30 years after they had broken up you’re not going to get the same experience as you would closer to when the song was written.
Zepplin is by far the best rock band this earth has ever known...The perfect set of artists in perfect sync with one another. Jason Bonham did and amazing job drumming and I'm sure his Dad, John would be extremely proud of his son! I would love the chance to see them in concert again...
He is speaking of Kashmir. It's a providence between India and Pakistan. Both countries claim ownership of Kashmir, thus a conflict between both countries. Robert Plant (the singer) visited Kashmir and was inspired to write this song. He found it to be a beautiful place to reconnect with his inner-self.
The original if you're interested was from 1975. So 32 years later they still sound great, even if Plants voice is not quite as powerful. But he still blows it away. Jones is still the underrated guy, but absolutely brilliant. PAGE. Bonham son does him proud.
Exactly. He should watch one of their performances from the 70s. But Kashmir does have a funky beat to begin with. Plant said that in the beginning he was afraid to sing it because the voice and instrumental parts are so intentionally off sync from each other. So, yeah he probably hasn't sung it in a while as well.
Mismatch between the beach in the guitar is intentional. They first did it on the song called black dog and if you really listen to it and understand that it was on purpose, it’s actually amazing. And create different flavors for both the drum and the guitar depending on when they match together
Yes, Jason did his father, John Bohnam pround...This band will never be outdated to me. I saw them many years ago at DOTG...Robert Plant's voice is still amazing, Well Jimmy page has so many musical qualities I can't begin to start. Jones is a genius on bass and keyboard. Led Zeppelin will, and has gone down as the greatest band ever existed with Rock and Blues....I'd give anything to see them play again!
You have a good ear! That was their objection. While drummer was playing in a different time as the rest of the band. No one but Led Zeppelin even tried this. The song "Kashmir" by Led Zeppelin is known for its complex and unique musical structure. It features a distinctive time signature of 3/4, 4/4, and 7/8, which contributes to its intriguing and enigmatic sound. The song's orchestration, with its use of strings and Eastern-influenced melodies, adds to its complexity.
That's the problem with listening to live material before hearing the original studio recording. Often, live material, particularly Led Zeppelin's songs, are harder to fully grasp live if you've never heard the original recording. That's why I always recommend doing reactions to the original studio recordings first, particularly when it comes to Led Zeppelin. Peace
Led Zepplin is considered the best band of all time by many people. Try the Immigrant Song by Led Zepplin. You have to have heard that one before. It's been my ring tone on my phone forever.
I was in high school when Led Zeppelin came on to the scene. We had usually been listening to groups at this time like the mamas and The Papa's, the monkeys, Paul Rivera the raiders, The Rolling Stones And The Beach Boys. So when Led Zeppelin came out with music like this it was heaven
I understand what you're saying, but you listening to Kashmir is a great lesson and introduction into the use of various rhythms within one song. It does have flow, but it's a more complex structure of flow that you will grow to appreciate with more exposure to it. Zeppelin was known for this, among several other great bands of their era. Polyrhythms may not, at first, be easy, but are so satisfying when done as well as in this song. 🎵
Being old enough to think no band beats Led Zeppelin, there are still lots of amazing bands from that era of rock. You might try Barracuda by Heart or I've Seen All Good People by Yes. So glad to see you enjoying these classics ❤
They are much older here. Jason Bonham is on the drums, original drummer John Bonham's son. John died after being blacked out on a tremendous amount of alcohol & died from Pulmonary Aspiration (he choked on his own vomit) at age 32. This was a "Reunion" that was never supposed to happen as Plant said there is no Led Zep without John Bonham.
If You Want to hear the original recording of this Song Kashmir “ Look up , Led Zeppelin Album Title (Houses of the Holy ) you will find the Song on their “ It’s A One of a kind and you will want to keep this song as one of your collection’s . It is Heart poundingly Amazing 🤩❤️🔥🎶
I saw Zeppelin live in Seattle, in 1977. Spent my youth going to great concerts and rock festivals. Led Zeppelin was the best. Stairway to Heaven live… doesn’t get any better than that!
That special pitch you're talking about hitting? That is called "Hitting the MONEY NOTE." Great reaction to Whole Lotta Love! Always love seeing someone who gets Led Zeppelin's first reaction. You want to listen to When the Levee Breaks, Black Dog, or Travelin Riverside Blues by Led Zeppelin. Peace out!
This is when they are much older and without the drummer. The drummer Sun did a very admirable job, and there’s probably a top 50 drummer in the world, but his father was the one and only
So many songs from the sixties and seventies you could do a video for. You'd honestly be surprised by what you hear. The music was so pure. Been listening to random music this morning. Just heard Midnight Rider by the Allmen Brothers. Great kick back and groove song.
Someone should have sent you the original version of this song. It's cool to see they still had it 40 years later, but if you want to be introduced to the Zeppelin greatness, you need to check out the originals- or at least the 'Song Remains the Same' soundtrack.
It’s fun to watch you smile listening to the music I listened to 50 years ago! Anything of quality will stand the test of time. Let that be the lesson to you. Your children will enjoy this 50 years from now for sure. 😃👍🏻👍🏻
So this song came out nearly 50 years ago. IMHO you really need to hear the original release to really understand and appreciate this live rendition from 2002. Just my opinion.
I always suggest that you choose performances close to when the song was released. I love Led Zepplin, but like me, they are 30 years older and have a lot less energy! I highly recommend Stairway to Heaven, Immigrant Song or When the Levee Breaks.
Young brother I’m glad you are giving Led Zeppelin a listen, from a old lady I must tell you I meditate to this. And a Whole lot of love, is the most sexual song ever in my opinion. You should listen to all of there stuff,it’s a education. ❤️🇮🇸
Ty you need to watch the movie song remains the same. It’s a whole movie with their music and concert with stories behind each song. It makes my heart happy to see the younger generations getting to listen to Led Zeppelin. ❤
Check out "Memphis Minnie" and "Robert Johnson". Both were contributors to the Delta Blues vibe Led Zeppelin achieved with many of their biggest hits like "When the Levee Breaks", it's an original Memphis Minnie and Kansas Joe McCoy tune from 1929. Robert Johnson influenced several Led Zeppelin songs and a major hit for Eric Clapton, Crossroads.
So I have another comment since you said you liked the drummer. The original drummer died 1980, and then they broke up. The drummer right there in that video is his son, Jason Bonham. The drums being so powerful and Led Zeppelin is one of the many reasons why I like them so much. They mix it Barry forward so you will hear the drums and it was amazing because he was such a good drummer and so is his son 💕💕💕💕 Molls 👱🏻♀️🐶
Kashmir is very different from today's music, but when this came out 50 years ago, we were exposed to a lot of different influences in music. As black folk, we listened to blue, rock, folk, jazz, country, world music, instrumentals and even music that were comedies. Led Zeppelin themselves were basically a blues band that was exposed to American black music in England. They would listen to all of the old blues and jazz music of their time and then they took it a step further and created their own style, based on black blues, jazz and R&B. Today, you have to really listen to older music to get how deep the influences were, and I'm glad to see the younger generation get exposed to musical virtuosos!
This band was very heavily influenced by American Black Blues. This video is very late in their career well after they had officially broken up and the original drummer had passed away in the early 80's. You should check out some Jimi Hendrix and Stevie Ray Vaughan.
Nothing needs to be changed babe. That album sold 300 million records worldwide became one of the best selling records in history whether you find faults with it on a personal taste level. That was amazing for the time. Nobody was doing anything even close nor had anything anywhere close to his vocal capabilities or were exploring new instruments.
They are old enough here to be your grandfather’s, so give them KUDOS for still being able to rock it, maybe not quite like in their prime. This is the song the band is most proud of, Plant wrote this while driving through the Sahara Desert in Morocco, a place he still loves to this day. This drummer is the son Jason, of the original drummer John Bonham, the greatest drummer ever.
This is the celebration concert. The first they did in years. John Bonhams son Jason played drums for them in place of his father that passed. I read Jason spearheaded the reunion
This concert was in honour of Ahmet Erdogan who first signed them up in the US ... the replacement drummer is Jason Bonham son of the original drummer John Bonham.
I have browsed through some of the comments. My comment is that this gentleman reviewing these Zeppelin videos actually is appreciating the talent. I would encourage him to dig a little deeper. In other words, concentrate on on the path of Led Zeppelin from the beginning. He / you will never look back. My Band and hopefully his forever!!
Context is important. When this song was first released. It was "power rock" - but nobody had ever made a power rock song like this before. (It took years for me to like this song. But, now, i let them "take me there.")
I LOOOOOVVEEE Led Zeppelin!!! If you want to hear another band that will blow you away, you HAVE to listen to "Nightwish: Ghost Love Score" from Wachen Open Air festival live!!!!!
Props for listening to and appreciating these masters. I think it's great that there is a whole new generation of listeners who are being exposed to Zep and others. BTW - Kashmir is a complex song rhythmically and if you spend some time listening closely to the original and then this version, I think you'll appreciate and understand what they're doing. It is complex at first but when you spend time with it, you can appreciate it. No disrespect - Zep is the best at twisting stuff around and giving us lots of surprises and things to think about. That's why we all love them!
thank you for the reaction. i always look for young people listening to the music that i grew up with. i looked but didnt see any reactions to queen. queen is a must listen to for amazing legendary bands. if i see more from the 70's and 60's i will subscribe. try bohemian rhapsody by queen studio version. you will know if you have the right one if it has over 1.6 BILLION views. that billion should tell you how great the song is and if that doesnt make you become addicted to queen then try some of there other songs like somebody to love, we will rock you, radio gaga, love of my life and hundreds of others. good luck to you.
I LOVE watching you discover Led Zeppelin. If you get the chance to see him tour on any of his solo projects - Go. You will not regret it. Also, pull the LP version on Physical Graffiti. When you say it wasn't matching up for you, listening to the original version will mesh better for you, then listen to the live. He has some style and vocals he is mixing in here, like the fast "my, my, my baby," the way he is singing it is identical to the lyrical styles in Since I've Been Loving You on III. Robert Plant. My first blonde love. His voice entranced me as a child, and I've remained there 40+ years later. The only other singer to transfix me is also my only other blonde love - Layne Staley, may he RIP. Check him out with the original lineup of Alice In Chains. There are 6 LP's released from 1988-1996 - Facelift, Sap, Dirt, Jar of Flies, AIC and Unplugged. Even at his worst, he was better than most singers at their height.
That drummer boy is the son of one of the greatest drummers, John Bonham. Huge shoes to fill! When his dad died, the band broke up for a long time. They couldn't imagine Led Zeppelin without him. His sound was so distinct because he was an R&B drummer. They were some of England's most sought-after studio musicians before they came together, and don't get me started on Jimmy Page. He was already famous at 15 in the Yardbirds. Between him and Jeff Beck, he is still my favorite. You can play his hooks over and over, go into a trance, and never get sick of it. The first time I remember crying out of frustration listening to another guitarist was when I was 12 and had started an all girl rock band, "The Black Widows." I heard the album Led Zeppelin III and the song Bron-Y-Aur Stomp and cried. I didn't understand about detuning, first of all, but I thought the song was so beautiful, it hurt and I wished I had written it.🤣
Robert Plant & Jimmy Page are a force unto themselves ! Plants super amazing vocal range & Page's cosmic guitar skills were the pairing of a lifetime ! They are untouchable ! I am glad you are enjoying them. Music today lacks the heart & soul of past decades ! I enjoy your channel ! 😁👍
I love watching you kid! Led Zeppelin played all kinds of music and played different kinds of music as they grew. It will take you years to really appreciate their music. If you can listen to “When The Levee Breaks” and Dazed And Confused’ they are legendary! You are so fun to watch and I know I looked the same as you when I first heard them when I was 7 years old! I’m 62 now and I listen to this band a lot! This song is based on a road trip they took while they were driving through a huge canyon. I think! Enjoy!
... listen to it at least twice than you'll have a need to listen it again then you'll be able to appreciate it to the magnificence and quality of that, in my opinion, masterpiece that's also a classic r$r
You need Red Rider-Lunatic Fringe. Type O Negative-Black No. 1 Rolling Stones. Paint it black Jimmy Hendrix-All along the watchtower Janice Joplin- Me and Bobby McGee Danzig-mother
Great reaction, since you like Led Zepplin, and who doesn't, do some more of Led Zepplin, the studio version of Stairway to Heaven, and the Live version of Since I've Been Loving You at Madison Square Garden 1973
Careful kid, Led Zeppelin is a gateway to the best of music. They started it all 🤘
Even in their 60s here...STILL the greatest! Jason Bonham did his daddy proud! RiP to John Bonham...greatest drummer ever!
this was the only Zeppelin reunion since the seventies...around 20 thousand seats and 20 million ticket requests...a Guinness book world record
Kashmir is a region of India. The whole feel of the song is mystical and pulls from the music of that area and the Middle East. It's a masterpiece like so many of their songs ❤️
The song, was inspired by Plant and Page's trips to Morocco in Africa.
😮If I were on the wall and they asked me what your last wish is, I would ask them for the last time to play this song for me.
@@TheWicho69 For me it would be Pink Floyd: Time
Not enough attention is paid to John Paul Jones who is the “ guts” of the band…..a multi-instrumentalist…..highly underrated!
It's a syncopated beat. Personally I love it! Led Zep is the best.
one thing you must realize this is only a four piece band making all this wonderful sound. This was Robert Plant's favorite Zepplin song.

'Kashmir' was on "Physical Graffitti", as was the song 'Houses of the Holy'.
Studio nerd! 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂 he is just not that bright! They sound just like the record, you’re one of those😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
I love when young people discover talent.
Zepplin is by far the best rock band this earth has ever known...The perfect set of artists in perfect sync with one another. Jason Bonham did and amazing job drumming and I'm sure his Dad, John would be extremely proud of his son! I would love the chance to see them in concert again...
Im always blown away by his voice whenever i hear it. He had so much raw talent. So natural. Very very few singers can sing like this
This song was originally released in 1975.
Led Zeppelin performed this concert in the 2000's. Go back and watch the original!
I think you meant "province".
The original if you're interested was from 1975. So 32 years later they still sound great, even if Plants voice is not quite as powerful. But he still blows it away. Jones is still the underrated guy, but absolutely brilliant. PAGE. Bonham son does him proud.
still good

So, yeah he probably hasn't sung it in a while as well.
John Paul is so amazing!!!! Probably the best at what he does in the industry.
A must to listen too.
Surely he should listen to the studio version, much better than this reunion version
Even my face has goosebumps 😂❤
Mismatch between the beach in the guitar is intentional. They first did it on the song called black dog and if you really listen to it and understand that it was on purpose, it’s actually amazing. And create different flavors for both the drum and the guitar depending on when they match together
Robert Plant's voice might not be as strong 32 years after this first came out but his hair is still amazing!
His voice and hair is amazing
Nothing compares to Plant.
You can tell by your view count how important this Band is to music history 🥰 this one is my fav, great for date nite
I like how the son of John Bohnam , the original drummer from 50 years ago, is the drummer in this later version.
And on his Fathers drums set
It always gives me the feels.
RIP John Bonham. I’ll never forget hearing that John Bonham died !! Horrible day !!
Jason, over the top, homage to Dad, sure, but he made it his own, an absolutely brilliant, focused percussionist, 2nd to none.
YAY, my favorite Zeppelin song!!! ❤❤❤
You have a good ear! That was their objection. While drummer was playing in a different time as the rest of the band. No one but Led Zeppelin even tried this. Absolutely!
Led Zepplin is considered the best band of all time by many people. Try the Immigrant Song by Led Zepplin. You have to have heard that one before. It's been my ring tone on my phone forever.
Yes absolutely!
Best rock and roll band ever!!! ❤️❤️❤️ There's no one like them. The absolute epitome of rock! Plant's voice is absolutely A M AZ I N G!
Immigrant song! Absolutely.
I’ve never seen/heard negative criticism of “Kashmir”. It’s Jimmy Page’s favorite 😮
What do you mean the back ground doesn't match? This is Live it isn't auto tune my friend
They much older here. They still got it. Check out some videos of them at the beginning in 1969.
The drummer here is the son of the original drummer John Bonham.
Always listen to the original versions first. This is great but you've got to do things in order
If you want to have a really good Led Zeppelin experience, look for their concert/movie “The Song Remains The Same.” You won’t regret it. ❤️
This version is great, but you should really listen to the original version for the full impact! 🎶 🎸
I get what you mean , like everyone is saying go listen to the original. They have so many great songs you’d love .
His voice has definitely matured .

I too, was at their 1977 Seattle concert... Cheers!! 🍷
Talk to me. It’s all magically timed! I adore watching someone listening for the first time, we grew up with this, wonderful, magical, Inclination
They are using polyrhythms! Overlapping of different rhythms.
Exactly, and it takes TONS of concentration and talent to do this and come back together as one. They match just fine.
This band is a legend and the best rock 'n' roll band ever. ❤️❤️❤️ You've got to listen to Immigrant Song.
Peace out!
I saw Led Zeppelin in Brussels, BE , 1979. EXTREMELY FANASTIC!!
I just found you and I LOVE YOU! I can watch you all day!
27 years after they broke up.
Most groups don't change the stage setting for every song, actually I can't think of one.
This is when they are much older and without the drummer. The drummer Sun did a very admirable job, and there’s probably a top 50 drummer in the world, but his father was the one and only

Someone should have sent you the original version of this song. It's cool to see they still had it 40 years later, but if you want to be introduced to the Zeppelin greatness, you need to check out the originals- or at least the 'Song Remains the Same' soundtrack.
Thank you, loved your reaction.
There aren't very many bands that sound this good live. And there are only 4 guys in this band. You have to be amazed
Real voices and instruments are a part of life
It’s fun to watch you smile listening to the music I listened to 50 years ago! Anything of quality will stand the test of time. Let that be the lesson to you. Your children will enjoy this 50 years from now for sure. 😃👍🏻👍🏻
It dosent matter how old they are. Zeppelin is the best ever in my book, and Mr. Robert Plant is still fine as frog hair.❤
one of my favorite favorite favorite songs in the 80's. Listened to this over and over. Loved how it was on the off-beat
Wowwwwwwwwwwweee amazing concert, you got it👍
So this song came out nearly 50 years ago. IMHO you really need to hear the original release to really understand and appreciate this live rendition from 2002. Just my opinion.

Another favorite Zepplin song of mine.
You might want to listen to 'Since I've Been Loving You' from the third album.
Or 'Hot Dog' from "in Through the Out Door."
thank you for the reaction. i always look for young people listening to the music that i grew up with. i looked but didnt see any reactions to queen. queen is a must listen to for amazing legendary bands. if i see more from the 70's and 60's i will subscribe. try bohemian rhapsody by queen studio version. you will know if you have the right one if it has over 1.6 BILLION views. that billion should tell you how great the song is and if that doesnt make you become addicted to queen then try some of there other songs like somebody to love, we will rock you, radio gaga, love of my life and hundreds of others. good luck to you.
Even at his worst, he was better than most singers at their height.
you had to hear this music back in the day doing LSD and you would totally get the sounds put together it was awesome
Led Zeppelin is one of the most amazing rock bands of its era but Whole lotta love was their best nothing can top that song from Led Zeppelin to me
That drummer boy is the son of one of the greatest drummers, John Bonham.
Rolling Stones. Paint it black
Jimmy Hendrix-All along the watchtower

Great reaction, since you like Led Zepplin, and who doesn't, do some more of Led Zepplin, the studio version of Stairway to Heaven, and the Live version of Since I've Been Loving You at Madison Square Garden 1973
All their songs are great
