Cool...just read tat his father's family lived in Nova Scotia for many generations. Never occured to me he had canadian roots. Chuck Conners famous for the show The Rifleman his family came from Newfoundland his parents came to New York before he was born.

New Zealander here. I used to love the A team and watched it religiously each week.
George Peppard grew up a few houses down from my Mom in Dearborn, Michigan on Outer Dr. Both He and my Mom graduated from the old Dearborn High School in Dearborn, Michigan my Mom was Class of 1945 and George was Class of 1946. Rest in Peace George.

His parents house last sold in 1999 from what I can recall. It sold for around 30k I believe.
George was such a good looking man ... those blue eyes! He was a man's man, great actor. His death was very sad. RIP George.
I finally got around to "Breakfast at Tiffany's" a few years ago. George Peppard was great in it. It took me a bit to recognize him as the guy from "The A-team"
That is the truth Lamont! We had it so good when we were kids with the shows available to us on TV. Some of the most iconic and entertaining stuff imaginable. A-Team was a must watch!

My favorite thing with George in it is a series he did for NBC called "Banacek"...
I liked it as much if not more than A-Team.
Yes,that was on NBC from 1972-1973.The Network didn't really promote it.Years later NBC did better promotions for "A-Team"
Forgot about that show...
Banacek was on for 2 seasons. It was, however, picked up for a 3rd season, but Peppard quit before filming began because he didn't want his ex-wife to gain any proceeds under their divorce agreement at that time. Once that agreement expired, he was able to land his role on A- Team and didn't have to give her anything!
Yes. I believe he was an insurance investigator in that one.

I remember watching reruns in the late 80's... early 90s of the A-Team. A friend of mine had a 1978 Chevy van made up to look like the A-TEAM's van. But his had a Big Block 454 V8 with a Weiand blower and would absolutely smoke any camaro or mustang at the drag strip. But one night at a race the engine blew up and he crashed the van. He had a few broken bones but the van rolled and was sent to the crusher.
The A-team definitely needed to be a few more seasons...it was a damn cool show
It would have been nice if it could have gone onto at least 1990 but from what I read George was tired of it.
Even with all those bullets flying around, nobody got killed!
He portrayed Robert Mitchum's character's illegitimate son in the early 1960's movie Home From the Hill. It was a risque movie for it's time. That is my favorite of his movies. He was just beautiful! Very swoon-worthy. I only watched the A Team because of him. Thanks, Lamont.

I'd hire the A-TEAM to tackle the cesspool that is Washington DC right about now! Thanks for this, Lamont! The A-TEAM was more than a series but an iconic TV mini adventure escape where you felt as if you were riding along with the guys as they took on the bad guys and evened the score for the little guy. I loved the show, and Hannibal's leadership made it all the more believable. Incredible actor, made my childhood all the more enjoyable.

Famous for more than that, but the show went out of its way to show you no one ever got seriously hurt, hence you'd always see the bad guy crawl out of the Chevy after it rolled over 20 times and exploded.
@@Rob774 Yes and this was an important, wholesome fact about the show that makes it enjoyable for people of any age and almost any taste. It was the same in Knight Rider to an extent, as well as Bud Spencer / Terrence Hill movies. You'd see the bad guys get beat up, run over, knocked out and a few seconds later they dust themselves off, limp out of the shot etc.

Me and my grandpa religiously watched the A-team together every week. I think it was on Tuesday night. I was pretty young, but I do remember that show very well and have some fond memories with my grandpa watching it.

For the record, The A-Team ran for 4.5 seasons, Spring 1983 through 1987. Plus, MeTV is adding it to their schedule starting this summer. Also worth checking out is Peppard's short-lived 1970's mystery series, Banacek, VERY good show. Heavily recommend it to Peppard fans and/or fans of that TV series genre. First discovered it on MeTV some years ago and managed to find it on DVD. Cozi TV's got it these days.
I and my family have grown very attached to the A-Team. It is nice to see that someone else loves them like we do. I want my first car to be Face’s corvette.
