The newspaper published the note that was found in his pocket. Mr. McCord and his wife both set fires to their farm buildings then killed themselves together as a pact. He wrote "To whom this may concern: Please lay blame on no one as this is a pledged agreement between both of us. This death is from a broken heart that cannot mend as the main jewels are missing. The loss of my baby children is too great to ever overcome and I loved and worshipped my children with all my heart and may god bless and reward me in someway." Mr. and Mrs. McCord both signed the letter. The letter is on Mr. McCord's find a grave site. They shot themselves on "a quilt spread in a plot of plowed ground about 100 yards from their home . . . " I have been through deep grief also but never that deep. Very sad. Great content Lamont, thank you.
The back of trailers on semi's didn't have the back bars on them. They are called Mansfield bars because Jane Mansfield died the same way in 1967. The bars on the backs of tractor trailers are now required mandate
So I was wondering about the note he left about his wishes concerning the estate and flowers. It’s possible the people in of those flowers maybe decided it was too much work. So they bought them all new headstones and called it a day.
So so sad. When I was a child one of my little friends died from a highway car crash. I think the divided highways have helped alot in reducing the head on crashes. Seeing all those matching graves lined up reminds me of my great, great uncles. One by one 6 of them died as they reached around the age of 20. Their graves are all lined up in a row between their mom and Dad. I go to decorate their graves when I can as they are about 40 miles away.
I’m so sorry Jane. What a terrible loss for your family. I can’t imagine losing that many loved ones all before they were 20. So sad. I hope you know what caused it for future generations.

The house where they were killed in a shootout with the FBI is still standing and you can visit it. It still has the bullet holes in the walls and furniture.
Extremely sad, first a brother and sister along with the guys fiance are killed in a tragic car accident, than the parent commits murder-suicide, than the fiances brother is killed in a horrific accident. May they all R.I.P. 😥 🙏
Your content is well rehearsed and respectful to those who have perished. I appreciate the stories you post and the forgotten lives in heaven we should remember.
A friend and I were watching it, very interesting , in the blink of an eye it was removed , we figure some bleeding ❣was offended and he had to take it down, personally we saw nothing upto that point that should have offended anyone if that was the reason.
@@Roxy0405 Personally it was no different than anything on you tube, we were watching it and midway it was gone. Nowadays a select few determine what the Majority should listen to read etc. they have created their own world of censorship !
@Gloria Monroe yup. I saw it all. I saw nothing disrespectful but there were comments saying " there's nothing wrong with being fat." Maybe it was reported? 🤔

We keep having multiple teen death accidents right here where I live in the inland empire, Southern California. Five in a car ran into a wall three days ago It’s tragic and overwhelmingly sad. The main thoroughfare is used for racing and it goes on almost nightly. I know many will disagree with me but not all kids should drive at 15-16 just because of their birthday. Not all are mature enough. Thank you for the story and for bringing awareness. So you shared facts about the Parker’s that I hadn’t heard before.
That's just it Lamont, we are all mortal at the end of the day and most kids think they are invincible until they find out the hard way that they're not. You've got to respect how fast these cars can go or your not going to live long enough to see a new day.
The McCords is my family. I was only 3 when this happened. Leota was my mom’s sister. Even though I was very young I remember going to her funeral. It is a tragic story. Thanks for this.
Am sorry Lamonte, you couldn't bring a flower once you found out the story of this family. Just seeing how forgotten lives are once someone you love so much dies.
What are you talking about? It's been nearly 70 years. The kids died young so no grandkids and the parents died shortly after. The grandparents might've brought flowers but they've been dead 40 years. That family line as it pertains to them are gone so no one to bring flowers and I can't imagine the estate still had money.
No doubt, a very sad and tragic story, my condolences and prayers goes out to the McCord's and the Vails family, may they all REST IN PEACE! Thank you Lamont for sharing this heartbreaking story, it is important that we know, they will be remembered. signed, Greg the Egg. In addition, back in them days, there was no such things as safety belts as standard equipment, or not at all, cars were less safe back in those days...
The time and effort you put in to doing these, so a big thank you from all your followers and keep it up as we all enjoy your story's behind the vist. Thank you from the UK 🇬🇧
This such sad story the mcord family my dad's freind lost his two sons in car crash they was 20 and 23 both killed instantly they went insane also the mum never got out of bed again
Great video!!....I'm in Coffeyville ,ks not even a hour away from that Graveyard. I'm guessing you went by here over to 169& headed south to Texas?....if you need a place to stay for a couple Days your more than welcome here.
This is a tremendously sad family tale, thanks for covering this on your channel, Lamont. It is amazing how tragedy can repeat itself like this with some families, it will hollow out a family network quickly like this. You did a great job relating all that happened , that family could not escape from it, it seems. May they all rest in peace now.
How tragic. Its amazing how sometimes a family death can destroy those who survived. Local family here who were well off with great jobs, big house had a 13 year old daughter die of cancer. The whole family was destroyed. The brother got sent to jail for years, the mother started sleeping with a drug user and became a drug user. There was a murder suicide pact and she died. The father shot himself in the house a short time later. Crazy
If I'm down, I watch Lamont tell a sad story. Then I realize everyday your above the ground is a good day.
Lamont, you are the best storyteller. Please don't give up on your stories are sharing with your followers your visits to their graves.

Greetings from Australia / Great research - looks like a depressing place even by cemetery standards.
Agree and greetings from Aotearoa New Zealand. Very dry like parts of rural Australia
