This is the best car I have ever owned. It is teeming with brilliant engineering and full of clever driver comforts I didn't know I needed. Absolutely stunning.
@@lydiagathoni4528 Yes, I have had this from new for 8 years now (time flies!) and it remains the best car I have ever owned. It has been supremely reliable and wonderfully comfortable. For sure, the odd thing has worn out and the dealer servicing is on the dear side but I get in, it starts first time always and gets me to my destination in what feels like gliding on a magic carpet. We've been across Europe and across town: it copes with everything with equal aplomb I'll have to get rid of it at some point, I suppose, but that still feels like a long way off. An amazing car.
Golf is the best in its class the only negative thing people can say about it is its looks and personally i think it looks rather nice, as far as reliability is concerned i have the 1.6 tdi with dsg gearbox and its completely fine, i know other people who have had golfs for years and they've been completely fine. The best thing about it is the interior its a nice place to be in has a premium feel and quality for a car thats not that expensive and the seats are amazing for long drives.
I had owned a brand new car and then one day I was looking to test drive Golf. I had never driven such a nice car before, bought it within that week of test drive.
golf or audi a3 if they are the similar ? thinking of getting a golf tho :D i h8 when they say these cars are not so much fun to drive does that not depend on the driver ? :S
There werent much reliability bugs. Go for the new 1.5 tsi engine. Insane traction with no wheelspin whatsoever, great fuel economy, enough power. Couple it with an r line package and oh boy you got a head turner that shits on some luxury cars
@@britishentertainment7610 We have the 1.4 TSI and it's plenty fast. Maybe not as fast as the 1.8 TSI though. I found on a test drive the 1.4 TSI has a bit of a dead spot from 1500 to 2000 rpm.
@@runforit420 Mine's a 1.8 (US spec) TSI.The turbo's fine-no perceivable lag or trouble.A few people I know have the (reworked) TSI turbos,no drama after years of ownership.Maybe it was just an early issue.
+RandomTechS@#T I both agree and disagree. i love some of the tech the car has, but it does lack some basic things as standard for this price. things like LED running lights Keyless start Reversing camera Climate control should all be standard at this price point in my eyes, but overall I am really happy with mine (only had it a week)
Hi Alex, It is called Night Blue ( metallic). If you look at the car configurator on the official Volkswagen site you should be able to see the colour. www.volkswagen.co.uk/new/golf-vii/configure/paint/1365/1366

Hey, long term review? Do you still have it?

+Pvulture b How has your Golf been holding up maintenance - wise? Looking to get one soon.
I know i am a bit late to the party, but that was a great review.
i am looking at getting the GT version very soon.
I think my father would like this and for me says it all. Definitely a Dad car.
Andy Pringle does great reviews..

These reviewers drive sports cars and super cars so it's hard for them to get excited driving a golf..
Have the reliability bugs been fixed with the Mark VII or 7.5?

I've had a 7.5 for nearly two years now. It's been flawless. No minor glitches, least of all mechanical problems.
@@exeuroweenie Thanks. I know there were some early turbo problems with the 1.8 TSI EA888 but the 1.4 TSI has been relatively trouble-free.

Does anyone know what colour that is? Couldn't find it on the website and to me it almost looked slightly two toned in the light

i love cars.
Golfs have dreadful sound insulation, very loud on rougher road surfaces
