I hit my first arm bar, first triangle, first S mount triangle after 4 months as a white belt during a open mat today and I can confirm it feels amazing. If you’re a beginner like me, keep working, you’re going to get better!
Hi again Jedi, after watching a dozen times that video... I realised we need 5 detailed vidéos for every move described. It flows when you do it but as a white belt...it is a struggle. Pls keep posting great content and thanks again for your dedication and passion
It is extremely rare to see a video on YT without any thumbs down. It speaks volume about the quality of your videos, about the BJJ community and your followers as well. I am sure an idiot will at one moment pass by but it is still very impressive. Thanks again for your good work Jedi !
You are seriously one of the best tutors I have seen. Being able to teach has to be done in a specific way of both showing and explaining and a lot of guys that make these videos go through things too fast without explaining each move. I’m a big fan already!
Helpful. I'm always amazed, though, at how complicated BJJ is. Even these are white-belt basics I know I'm going to need to do these a hundred times before I feel like I know how to do it. Maybe i should get one of those dummy things
I just started my BJJ journey, and I am loving these videos. Please, keep them coming. They are helping so much. Appreciate you taking the time to create and post these.
Technique No 4 was most excellent as I am learning this right now. No three closed guard.. has no resistance...not gonna let you bring knees off mat. I really wish I can slow your videos down so I can analyze them better. Plus your beginner videos are some of the best. Huuuge thank you!
for the armbar from full guard, i find it most effective to bend the left foot upwards (dorsiflex) oppose to what you did (plantar flextion) for the reason that when you dorsiflex your foot, the muscles of your calves are activated and its harder/impossible for someone to posture up, I would love for you to try it and let me know if you can feel the difference between the two details
This channels fucking great, I was taught by my uncle for a good couple years before going to a dojo and the tips in this video brought back all the instructions I never really cemented in my mind when I was younger. Incredibly interesting for me watching this video.
just 3 weeks of jiu jitsu and I got my first submition on someone twice my weight with an arm bar and choke hold back to back felt really good about myself when I pulled it off
not only are you a god on the mat (to me, beginner white belt 1 week of training), but your editing is pretty dope 2 boii. I look forward to seeing this channel explode over the next few years and hopefully my abilities will do likewise, just gotta stay consistent right ;)
White belt here & love your videos JEDI! Love everything about them! Absolutely extraordinary commentary. If I could ask one thing? I really enjoyed the other day I watched a video where you went to a buddies house that was a white belt and the angles were up close and you weren’t talking or trying to rush through the video, I was able to hit the arm triangle in practice. Keep doing what you’re doing buddy! You got a new fan, new subscriber right here. I’ve already shared your channel with a couple white belt buddies LOL. Keep that white belt content coming my man
Great tips for a beginner like myself. A wish would be to slow down a bit in your explanations, I had to pause alot. But nontheless, Thank you so much! :)
Not me trying to watch the video and do the moves by myself lol, I need my laptop to follow me on like a swivel or something. Great video/tips, Thank You!!!
Nice vid. To beginners watching this. Armbar from guard is HARD as a beginner and gets your guard passed when it doesn't work (which sucks). Don't get demotivated if it happens to you, it's normal, and it gets easier.
I just learned that same guard break but standing up with one leg before the other it feels like you can have more leverage to break the guard, I'll try this one next class! Cheers bro
Before i started bjj, the focus was on choking and breaking, joined a gym, focus is on sweeps and escapes, dont even try to submit, just survive 7 mins
The hardest thing for me so far is: actually remembering the moves, knowing which move to use in which situation.. When I start sparring I have like 3 moves in mind and those are the only ones I will try to place, instead of being versatile and adapting to the situation
@@jedidoesjiujitsu3177 throw on pads, layers of clothes and most importantly a helmet so that you're not scared to eat the pavement. You'll pick it up really quickly with more natural body movements (not as scared to fall) and repeating the action day after day, if you take 10 mins out of every free hour you have to kick flip over and over and over you'll get it by the end of next week. Some people say do it on grass but it doesn't really feel the same and you already have the basics!
@@jedidoesjiujitsu3177 as lame as this sounds, prioritize. I skated seriously (as in shooting for team spots and pushing for flow sponsors for years) for years and ended up (as we all do) getting injured. I earned a nasty compound fracture in my left forearm, rolled my ankles often, and fractured my right wrist. I can't recall how old you are, but years of hucking myself down stairs, gaps, and rails took a toll on my body from 15-24, and I'm sure it could do the same for you. I felt the injuries later at 27. I just started jiu jitsu, and these injuries from skating definitely followed me. If skating is a career goal, go for it, but if it's just a hobby, definitely don't push the backside flips down the local 7 stair or varial heels off that one loading dock with tons of run up until you're ready. Lol I love the content man.

Question about The break on this video that you learn from UFC Welterweight. When you posture up and keep balance, if they go to defend placing there hands behind your heels and try and thrust forward. Can you still keep good posture? Or is it something to prepare for to defend your posture and balance to make the break?
Just a quick question, at 2:28 , what should I do if my knee is far away from my opponent shoulder? I'm 165 cm my opponent is usually 18x ... short legs, no trapping. I really struggle due to my short limbs, most of the technics does not work well for me... :S
