I just got passed my partners guard for the first time and got into mount! Barely remember how it even happened but I totally didn’t know what to do after.
As a fellow white belt, I recommend to try first ezequiel choke, at white belt we all focus on pushing the hips and we tend to forget about our necks lol.
No stripe WB here. Rolled with a 1 stripe today and got Into high mount for the first time and had a similar problem. I had nothing but one choke in my tool box and it took me forever to set it up. Luckily for me high mount is incredibly difficult to escape lol. Anyway so here I am on this video now
Make sure you skip to the good parts of the video then, so he doesn't catch you off guard while you're watching! Surprised you could type the comment and find the video while maintaining top position.
This video was super helpful! I’m a white belt with two stripes so I’m still figuring out my strengths and weaknesses, and also how to be detail-oriented when learning new techniques. I’ll try these out at class next time, Thank you!
The arm triangle is now my favorite thing especially since I’ve been rolling with a banged up knee. I like that you showed subs for gi and no gi thanks for literally being the dude I watch all the time man and for helping out a ton!! If your ever in El Paso texas come too 10th planet!!
This one video is better than 15 lessons at my old gym. It really helps give an understanding of the art, thank you old chap! Yours is the best channel by far! Best wishes 😃
I routinely get into the mount position but often fail to submit my opponents. I studied the head and arm choke in this video and this morning was able to submit my opponent using it! Thank you for posting the video and for describing the key steps to executing that choke! You made my BJJ game grow - thank you!
My nine year old son, Julius, is in a Jiu-Jitsu Gym here in Florida, called Elementum. For about almost a year now. He gets a lot of sparring and gets the mounted position all the time. But only tries or does the Americana. Which he's pretty good at. Thanks for the other mounted submission moves. He's been taught these but doesn't apply them or forgets what else he can do. But the way you analyze these moves are great! 💪 - New Subscriber 🥋
My daughter is a 60lb 10 year. At the tournament today was her first time sparring with kids who don't outweigh her by a lot. She was in mount a lot and didn't know how to finish due to lack of experience!
Damn this was so helpful. I actually train Krav Maga and do one part of these submissions, but Jiujitsu does them with so much more detail and it was really amazing to watch this. By the way, your explaining is great and keep up the good work.
6:50-7:40 thanks for that one man. It's always great for me to see a position with an attempt to finish that can open up other submissions, such as that Americana or Kimura on the opposite side.
I really like the arm triangle, but I've been tapped to it more than anything. I bet most people remembers the day, Everyone caught it on you... I might have PTSD, from arm triangles.
First BJJ sparring and I submitted two blue belts. They fight believe it was my first time. Tbf, I had nearly 50lbs easy on both of them and they had already been rolling and exhausted so I’m not trying to get my hopes up much. 😂
voiceover + arrows work very well! I'm just wondering here, what would be the advantage of doing the armbar falling backwards if it can just be done from mount--it seems way simpler this way, isn't it?
I am growing my hair from zero to shoulder length and would like to have a man bun... How can I protect my hair in practice. I am a white belt and my hair got pull or in the way of being choked. What are the best ways to tie and protect my hair? Thank you.
I get mount fairly easy and have a super high success rate w my head n arm triangle (s/o gordan ryan tutorials) but reading the book of five rings ive learned that i cannot rely on only one weapon so I’m here to broaden my horizons
I’m not currently a belt but have been ground fighting/doing some BJJ for a few months and consistently have been beating guys who are blue belts and under. I actually have yet to lose to anyone below purple. I’m in the Marines so we call it ground fighting and it’s in our uniform not the gi so I guess that’s helped me with winning some. Im a bigger dude 6’4 220ish and I’ve had trouble utilizing my legs for submissions, any tips?
Hey I just started and I'm a huge noob, but I saw on your first live example for the arm triangle that your were grape vining their legs when you were setting up the sub. I was taught not to do this because the person on bottom could seriously fuck my knees up if they were to suddenly extend their legs. I was just wondering if this was true or not. Thanks for all of the content, I've been studying your videos daily and have been trying to implement a bunch of the skills and tips in class.
Do you already have bad knees, or weak knees? If not you should be fine. I would suggest not grape vining, or most leg rides, against people significantly bigger then you, because they have hugh power advantages making it easier to get accidently injured.
@@jedidoesjiujitsu3177 also by watching you I realized that one of my biggest flaws is or was that I'm not moving around so I get caught, I was static thats gonna change tomorrow
If you guys are doing an Americana, Kimaru, or Arm Bar for the first time go slow. You have no fucking clue how easy it is to break someones arm, shoulder blade, or rotator cuff. Go slow and let go as they tap. Chokes are fair game though
I am a beginner Gracie Barra student, I’m always getting caught in a tight top mount situation. Last night I was in the same situation pulled in tight in the top mount position. I thought Ezekiel Choke immediately and landed it with some ease and surprised the black belt I was going up against.
So I’m 12 and I took a class today btw I look 15 but I rolled with this guy who was a all stripes white belt and I knew nothing about the sport but very little from just my big brother and I almost got him in a arm bar 😔 but the timer came up and coach said break
I just got passed my partners guard for the first time and got into mount! Barely remember how it even happened but I totally didn’t know what to do after.
I know this feeling, I’m decent at passing guard but need more submissions from this position!

So good, I had my sparring opponent in mount today and couldn't finish, so many adjustments I see here, will apply for next time, thanks dude!

Started getting into full mount a lot more over the last 2 weeks with my regular training partners. These videos help a lot
Arm Triangle got me a tap on a Blue belt as a 3 stripe White belt today - absolutely awesome video Jedi, thanks!
Loved it! Just started BJJ and I'm excited to learn and practice all these. Thank you
I just started taking jiu jitsu classes yesterday lol, this is very helpful

Thank you Jedi for these amazing videos!!
Thanks 🙏🏽
you make it look easy. I hate when people say 'just'.
it's a shame I didn't find my favourite sport till I was almost 40 but I'm glad I did.

Really needed this. I have been doing BJJ for about a Month now and I currently am only able to do the Americana. Thanks!
LOVE IT!!! Much love and appreciation! I had my first day last week on Friday! I was called a "natural" No doubt thanks to you and JordanteachesJJ
So happy to see you slapping these on that dude in Nixa... made me feel warm inside! 😂😂😂
How did I NOT see this vid before now?!?!? 😳 great stuff!
Thanks Zach! Dude you guys have a solid gym out there. 2021 better watch out for you!!
The arm triangle kinda just seems like a von flue choke

Love the arm triangle, bigger stocky guy here and that's my favorite choke.
2:45 i dont think il ever do that in public
Thanks homie! I always try to go to side mount to look for submissions or force them to their back. This helps loads. 🙏🏻
Glad you like it!
really needed this, im a white belt and often find myself lost when in the mount position when i get past my partners gaurd
I really like the arm triangle, but I've been tapped to it more than anything.

Thanks Maybe I’ll be able to remember these … bjj hard for me it’s so many steps to do certain moves ..
You put up solid videos…👍🏽 don’t stop
Good video brother. Im a krav maga practitioner but im beginning to love bjj.
Those geese in the background had me worried know all the jiu-jitsu you want those things are killers
Oooo I really like that double attack at the end
Good details Jedi 😀👌🏽Ossss !
Glad to help Israel!
Jedi Does Jiujitsu Im a purple belt as well 😓& it's a difficult stage . Your style is very Helpful 😀🙌🏽🥋.
It’s definitely a stage where you need to refine your personal style.
Thanks!
6:51 and PAUSE! My face when I see something for the taking! or a taco...either way NICE VID JEDI!

I don’t do that, but a lot of schools teach it because it’s easier to learn. Thanks!
I love it. Thanks master Jedi
I got my second stripe yesterday it felt amazing
Comment for the algo. Really good vid, man. As a noob I find myself able to get mount but then not knowing where to go from there.
I'll try to remember this. Thanks !
Anytime

Sometimes I get told arm triangles on my end are cranks. Any tips to fix this?
arm needs to be below chin against their neck before you gable grip/go for the submission
Do you have some for side control as well
Any videos on leg locks?
Great video
Hey jedi i noticed the land marks you were at in the video we should roll sometime.so u can teach me some new things.
You in MO? Moved to Vegas back in July

Americana so hard to do since i cant just do it on the go since its so telegraphed
I have sparring on Sunday remind me so I can tell you guys how it went
How did it go 😅
This is so helpful!!! I can’t wait to try the arm triangle! Never seen that before! #WhiteBelt
@jedi doesn't the arm triangle from mount open you up to a sweep if you only have a leg to post while you arm is busy being under your partner?
Wb, 3 months training. 2 months away from comp in dallas. Fyi.
Great video!

Definitely better to setup from a full side Control. Good luck!

@@jedidoesjiujitsu3177 9 months later i've been pulling off all of these except for the triangle!! thank you so much!!
Shocking that someone would be in mount and not be going for a sub
I love this dude
Great video, but your Fanny pack is more impressive 😍😂
what brand fanny pack is that?
Thanks
From a self defense perspective, do you think headbutts from side control would be effective? I feel like they’re readily available.
I can see that

how did he do it
I’d say, If you are close like that: double leg, mount, arm triangle. Sweet dreams 😴

Can you show techniques that are useful for partners much stronger than you?
