We startet the therapy when my son was 2. till now, he dont speak any word. and he wears pampers. i think both will remain for his whole life. Because we dont see any progress in his live. Wish all parents around the world a lot of power with their ill kids❤
My daughter is autustic as well. She is 7 now and was nonverbal till about 4.5. We still cant have a conversation but she can get most of what she needs/wants. Dont give up hope. A karoke machine is shat started her wanting to hear her voice. She still jibber habbers alot. Also have some good pecs apps on the ipad to help them communicate

I'm a purple belt. I think by intermediate level you can already get a sense if the person knows what he or she is doing. I'm positive he knew he was being trolled after the first roll.
I'm a brown belt. I remember rolling with a bluebelt ronin, with the most beat up belt I've ever seen in my life. I learned later he trained for about 10 years traveling the country, but never had a home gym My head instructor had walked in mid roll and started watching us. That was literally the fight of my life 😂

I did this when I started bjj as the teacher was my friend and he wanted to prank his students but I was a near olympian level 3rd degree judo black belt. So i wasn't exactly a white belt. I threw everyone around and never wanted to engage on the ground so I just got back and threw them over and over. I got caught 3 times by higher ranked belts once they managed to get a positional advantage. A few of them realized what was happening but the lower level belts were like 'that's not jiu jitsu' haha

If you ask me she’d have been better off not knowing considering we’re all somewhere on a spectrum. When it’s serious, of course you’re going to get a diagnosis these days because we know a lot more than we did about it, but if you get to 30 fine in life then in my opinion you don’t need to know, you’re only going to obsess over it. Not everyone is like my ex of course but she managed to use it to dodge accountability for her actions.

Now he's 9.5 years old, practicing taekwondo for 4 years, has a green belt. It takes a lot of energy and effort to move forward, but it worth it 💪🙏
I was totally taken aback to see the brown belt that trains in our Kingston gym in the video! It makes sense given the proximity of your gym, but holy crap that messed with my head lol
I recommend making videos of your gym guys guessing belt levels of new BJJ people who will visit your gym. You invite BJJ guys of different belt levels to your gym all wearing white belts. Your guys will know how many of each belt level there are but they have to guess who is who by analysing how they roll. What will be interesting to see in the video is how your guys will be making a conclusion about what belt level they roll with by analysing their moves, how they distribute their weight, how they react to attacks, etc. I personally would love to see these types of videos because they will be both entertaining and educational.

My son is the exact same… he’s non-verbal autistic. 3 years old. My 1 year old daughter can talk AND sign language.. so it’s hard seeing the difference since I lost my job 19 months ago and my medical benefits went with it. So keep up the great work in spreading awareness that milestones are important! I’m doing my best. They’ll get there.
Arwin, you can also look into scholarships for your son. I went through the "step up for students" scholarship in Florida, and they gave me a lot towards therapies. ABA and speech helped my son tremendously. It is tough at first, but it does get easier.

For what its worth Arwin my son is also on the spectrum and didnt say anything until near 4 - he now talks fine. Your son may be non verbal, but he may also still talk when hes ready however I understand the heart ache of it my heart goes out to you and your family.

My granddaughter is 4 almost 5 and I'm the. Only one that understands her even after a year of speech therapy. You got support just look for it.
Bless this man. I have two kids with special needs. One on the spectrum and another with a rare syndrome requiring a lifetime journey of surgeries and development.
My son is non-verbal too and is 8 now. early on we focused on speech and other therapies and honestly they just didn't really work for him. One day he went on a pony ride and man, I never seen someone more at home. Now going down this road I have learned a lot about people with Autism and their connection with horses. I hope everything goes well and just wanted to say horse therapy has done wonders for his confidence. I am not sure exactly what it is going to be for your son, but keep trying.
Please don't worry about your son my own son did not speak till he was 5 me and his mum & big sisters could understand him and what he wanted he would take us and point to what he wanted. He is turning 16 on the 18th july 2024 he is fantastic we roll together love jiu jitsu & sharing the experience together. Great video. ❤
