Lol. watch this video now a days and first thought is "man, forgot how good that thing sounded" second thought is "can't believe I thought that was fast" haha. them were the days.
+XArmy187 I'll tell ya, after owning a lot of fast cars.. I always miss the first one. Not because it was the fasted, but because it sure as hell felt like it. hahaha
"its a lot harder when its cold"--best line ever heard from the FRONT seat of a Mustang. Like a 1955 Chevy, there's so little weight to overcome initially, giving it its feeling of speed. I still have my 1986 GT, they were always a tin can with a truck engine for torque and "a little cam" for idle. In the days of Total Performance, Ford preferred a lot of head port (Clevelands, Boss, etc) and a relatively tame cam.
Thanks! Convertibles can be heavier, but not by much, my car is 3,090lbs compared to 2006 mustangs, the hardtops are 3,500 to 3,600 pounds. Gears, exhaust, intake, bump the timing, and some good tires will make the car almost 2 seconds quicker in the 1/4 mile from a completely stock car, and shouldn't cost more then $1000 if you buy used stuff, and take your time to find parts to save money. My exhaust from headers to catback cost $275 total.
WOW! That girl looked better last night, the next morning why'll taking her home...Woooofff! Just kidding bro LOL awesome video. That mustang sounds good

@Xarmy187 the bbk seems fine, he probably wont switch it off. he has had 4 different intake manifolds on it, and i would agree this one is the best so far. its had the stock manifold, ford racing cobra manifold and a trick flow R manifold a few years ago, we put a trick flow R manifold on a stock motor(his 92 convertible) and that really sucked! the torque was gone and couldnt even do a burn out. then after some research and found out that it was way too big for a stock motor.

the driveshaft is so easy to install, it takes like 10min after you get the car in the air. yea, if you do alot of highway, a 3.73 is probably better. I use to have a AOD transmission too, but i burnt mine up, so I installed the Cobra T5 I have now from promotion powertrain. the AOD is not bad for everyday driving, but for ANY racing, it will not stand up.
man i miss my 5.0 :( i thought i was the only one with the red interior since everyone always changes theres to black or grey. and the rattling noise hahaha i miss that too haha i put a paper towel in the dash by the steering wheel to stop that one and then i just had the hatch noise.
@farmboi78 stock ignition works awesome other then with nitrous, superchargers, or turbos. fuel system, im not sure if you can use the trucks fuel system or not, if so it will make it easier, but you will probably have to run all new lines. If it was me, I would buy enough rubber line rated to run fuel to run from the back of teh truck, and back for a return line, so probably atleast 25' worth of line. you will have to route up a mock line and measure it out I would think.
@punkthrasher13 haha, well I give imports respect when built right, but glad to hear your back to muscle. A foxbody/5.0 stock automatic, or AOD transmission would not live long behind a h/c/i set up in my opinion. if you look at my videos, my car use to be an automatic, and after using a 100hp shot of nitrous, well, about 2 bottle's worth, the transmission was toast.
@Xarmy187 Thanks. I'm actually considering buying one. I got to ride in a friend's Terminator with a 2.3L Whipple a few weeks back. I'd to have even a third of what he has on tap (630+). His license plate is Z06HNTR. :D
@powerviking the victor loose to much of low end power and the victor is made for 7k rpm (stock a9l cpu cut at 6250).... i think the performer rpm 2 was one of the best choice for his set up.
I was going to put afr 165 heads, Anderson Ford Motorsports n61 cam on my 85000 mile stock bottom end but I said to myself to just wait because I did not want to do the same thing twice once I ordered up a D.S.S. 331 short block. So I went from having a 5.0 with heads/cam to just saying fuck it and waiting till I got my short block and doing things just once. I also spent big bucks on a complete Areomotive fuel system with 30pound injectors. Also a time saver by doing it all at once. My only problem is that the 165 AFR heads are to small because they are meant for 302/306 size setup. I would say that there is another 45/50 horses I am missing out on but still holyshit what a world of difference.
@nickcranfield2008 yea for sure. A new car is nice, as the interiors, and such. Also not worrying about stuff falling off the car. but you cant beat a old fox IMO for the fun factor. plus spanking new cars that are super heavy compared to my 3150lb convertible is sweet, haha
@curtisjb1983 I would guess its around 380hp at the motor, around 300 to the tires. The car does not make much for horsepower, most fords dont. But the car is only 3100lbs so it accelerates nicely!
@nivin69 haha, yea, 2300-2600 ish. I love that sound. never was there with the flow-masters, but noticed it the first day I put on the mac catback. LOVE that sound, haha

fuel system, im not sure if you can use the trucks fuel system or not, if so it will make it easier, but you will probably have to run all new lines. If it was me, I would buy enough rubber line rated to run fuel to run from the back of teh truck, and back for a return line, so probably atleast 25' worth of line. you will have to route up a mock line and measure it out I would think.
BBK shorties, BBK off road H pipe, Mac cat back. All 2.5" piping, with 3" tail pipes
that exhaust sound is ADDICTING!! haha nice car man. 5.0 rocks!!
I certainly cannot feel the pull, but I sure LOVE the sound. Go V8!!!
