This is Putin's puppet: Ramzan Kadyrov

  • After the dissolution of the USSR, Russia struggled to reassert its status as a great power by improving its territorial cohesion. Futile military campaigns against the rebellious Chechen people prompted the Kremlin to strike a deal with an unorthodox warlord, Ramzan Kadyrov, who would prove to be a loyal ally, granting Chechnya an unprecedented level of autonomy in return. Today we examine the dynamics of Vladimir Putin's puppet's rise to power.

Something interesting I immediately remember when you hear this name: when opposition politician Boris Nemzow was murdered in Moscow, the Russian police _itself_ made the high ranking connection with Kadyrov. It stuck out to me as a crime because of how blunt this made the hit look, as if there had not even been an attempt made to hide the action to intimidate the remaining opposition. Which was obviously exactly what they were going for.

*I have visited Chechnya once myself. They are a very proud, traditionalist and nobel people who love their culture, religion and tradition. But they love their freedom too. Chechnya is only working with Russia right now because Putin has managed to keep the Chechens happy by economic subsidises and great deal of autonomy. If Putin fails to keep giving this than not even Kadyrov will be able to control the wrath of the Chechens. I kinda wonder what this world will be like if Chechnyas population would be 200 million 😅. Otherwise, Chechnya would still be in war between the Islamic Republic and numerous sects.
Many countries are simply not good for democracy - it is best to stay away from Chechnya and let them live as they wish.

I honestly ask, I know what I read online?
It seems to me that Chechnya could easily sink into a radical state, similar to Avganistan, but maybe I'm wrong?!
No matter because of who the Islamists came to light, they are present now, and I don't know how to solve that?! The US also empowered Afghan Islamists in past, and now they rule the country, in a rather backward way.

Actually, if you truly understand their relationship. It’s kinda the other way around. Ramzan has loads of power. That’s why he gets flooded with money from Moscow. He can order at any second for Chechens to kill Russians and they will do it no questioned asked, just like in the 90s (He himself killed Russians in the first war). This will result in another bloody war and a potential collapse of the Russian state and at the same time, the full destruction of Chechnya. Both know this, however Putin has more to lose.

So there would not be collapse of the federation, not by a long shot, and MOST importantly, there's absolutely no need for bloodletting! As long as US NGO's and other cia cutouts (like Saudi wahhabi extremist) are faaar away, and with greatly limited to nonexistent influence, everything within Chechen republic, and Russian Federation broadly in that part of the world will be fine!

So before the second Chechen War, Chechnya became a Sharia law state. Its former leaders aligned with Al Qaeda, yes, the one in exile. The Chechnya of the past simply couldn't exist as it was, what it became is nothing short of an alternative that one could argue is better, but not ideal. Whats ideal, doesn't matter however, as idealism does not reflect reality. Chechnya outside of Russia, is isolated and at their mercy economically. Its ability to prosper, is entirely at the whim and allowance of its neighbor, who surrounds it entirely.
This is the issue of ethnic separatism in Russia: Even if by some miracle they achieve independence, they're still encompassed by Russia itself as the sole neighbor, who will still in effect control those breakaway regions regardless of whether it happens or not. Better to live with them, than against them. Better to be united with them, than separate from them. When independence means eternally dealing with Russian border controls anyway, the independence is a sham. Its like a teenager fresh out of high school going to college on funding entirely from their parents, never working but pretending they're somehow independent and their own person, despite all they have being provided to them, by another.
This is what it would be like for ethnic separatism inside of Russia. Idealism at its worst, a sham based entirely on belief, but detached from the reality that stands in stark contrast to the illusion of independence.
