Fun fact! You can get A TON more PSX games running in RetroArch by disabling the audio driver altogether. I did this in my testing and was able to get a ton of games running full speed that for some reason would run at half speed when the audio was enabled (or when certain sound effects played). Give it a shot if you want to play around with it more! And if you want to save a bit of suffering, I have a playlist on my channel filled with the games I've tested, including the ones that work best with the audio disabled. You know, I wonder if people tried to make a straight GZdoom port for the 3DS. Having stuff like SRB2 or Reelism 2 on a 3DS would be amazing, maybe even Infinite Doom or something like that.
I converted all my PS1 roms to .chd and played a bit with the retroarch settings and i don't have any framerate or sound issue anymore (on a New 3DS XL)
Also I've tried RetroArch on Desktop, Phone, WiiU, PSP, 3DS. (AND MANY MORE PHONES) - It NEVER works, even when I have the bios files and follow directions exactly. And when it DOES work? The UI is horrible, and you can't even set up custom controls or change the resolution? Why do people even use RetroArch when things like Project 64 and Dolphin / CEMU exist!?

Sure FPS games are gunna suffer a bit without that second stick but that’s kinda all you’re missing outside of a select few ports. TL;DR: I wouldn’t go out of my way to “upgrade” to a “new” 3ds model if you’ve already got an “old” one.

Half life is near unplayable on the n3ds. You need to remap all the controls, but after that you will have to wait at least 1 minute in loading zones which gets old fast. Probably as good as the xbox version, but not comparible to the ps2 version

I'll be that guy and admit that most homebrew and ports on the 3DS really SUCK. It's like wanting a good app from Best Buy but the apps come from the Dollar Tree. There are a few homebrew apps that work great like Doooooooooooooommm! And the third UA-cam one is great since it actually works unlike the official UA-cam app, but a majority of the homebrew garbage available isn't worth the space on your memory card. Red Dragon runs like crap, Daedalus runs like crap, the Sonic Mania port runs like crap, Half-Life is crap, etc etc. And this is on the New 3DS XL. Don't even bother if you have an older model.

For play coins, I just put my 3ds in sleep mode, move my arm to make it think i’m walking, and boom, cheesed the system.
Oneshot is not a rpg, it's like a point and click puzzle game set in a rpg overworld. Don't sleep on it

Super Hexagon is unironically one of the best games of all time and I've played it more on my 3DS than my phone.
OneShot is made on RPG Maker, BUT it has zero rpg battles. It's more like an exploration and puzzle game.
