Pinbox is kinda buggy, at least for me. Like it hasn't worked for me since before... _the virus_ . Someone actually ported Moonlight to the 3ds recently and it works FLAWLESSLY (for moonlight) so I see no reason for anyone to use pinbox if they don't already.

I hated 64. Graphics (the tech not the appearance) and control wise it was revolutionary at the time. That being said I felt the art style was seriously disjointed. It didn’t feel like a Mario game and instead felt like some tech demo using generic texture packs. Tomb Raider that released two years earlier had better art direction, better level design, and surprisingly less frustrating platforming.

Honestly I’ve grown to not like the switch because, one: it’s not a very handheld system, it’s just too big to carry around imo and, two: my joycons started drifting extremely early and a few months ago my second set of joycons also started having drift. It’s ridicules. I’ll stick to my pc for in-home gaming and my 3ds for handheld. I only boot up my switch for exclusives every few months and smash when friends come over now. Also I just wanna say the 3ds is so awesome the two screen clamshell design is just perfect for handheld, it was so worth it to mod it has such a huge game library available now (nes - snes , gb -3ds) so many damn good games and it actually fits in my pocket. The 3d screen is also very pretty.

Honestly skip mGBA and use open agb firm or NSUI if you must have save states. mGBA is awful and runs poorly

Only thing I'd add is that injecting GBA games as virtual console is a great option for GBA on 3DS. It doesn't emulate them, it runs them in GBA mode on DSI mode. Running GBA natively doesn't give you as many options, like you can't swap buttons or anything but compatibility and performance is of course superb. I personally use this method for GBA so I can have the games on my home screen and because it leaves me assured I don't have to deal with audio delay in Mother 3. Extra context: Mother 3 is notorious for the rhythm battles being hard, but that's (partially) only because emulators add extra audio delay that makes them harder than they're supposed to be. Natively running the game removes this issue :) Oh and a port worth checking out is Mr.Huu's Fallout 1 port it's incredible how well it plays.

I think the best way of playing GBA on 3DS is open_agb_firm. It takes advantage of the fact that the GBA, DS, and 3DS all use the same ARM architecture, and allows you to play GBA games natively.

ps1 emulation on new hardware is perfect, i don't get any framedrops for any games and there are absolutely no audio issues - if anybody wants help setting it up feel free to ask me :D

Open agb firm us king; native hardware use. Only weakness is bright control and resolution a tad too big. mGBA has minor issues BUT resolution control including pixel perfect SOME CHADS NEED TO MOD SMASH RUN WITH ONLINE PLAY OR THE WHOLE 360'S INDIES MS TOOK DOWN FROM IT

You mention alot of stuff but don't show what its actually like on 3ds or talk about how good it plays but you bother mentioning how you've never played DDLC. Also play blood! How do you not know anything about that game? Why do you bother talking about wolfenstein like everyone doesn't already know about it? Did you really say mario 64 isn't that good of a game?! Why didn't you talk about the fallout port?? Red Viper? Theres also ports of the fnaf games. Literally know about those from just looking at hshop, universal updater, and youtube. Blood to someone into these kind of games basically feels totally different to DOOM in basically everything other than being a shooter of the era. The main one id point out are the enemies, the main ones you fight are basically hitscanning cultists that are somehow the most satisfying and frustrating enemies in any FPS. The TNT is vital for dealing with them, being able to take them out before they can make you Swiss cheese. Also for Quake, you can use the gyro to aim in these ports IIRC, which is much closer to a mouse than even a standard xbox controller.

Hexen is the furthest thing from a "Doom clone", it plays like one, but the level design is a straight up Metroid style backtracking open world affair.

Ps1 emulation on the new 3ds def does work, i played halfway through ff7 on my 3ds with no lags

i played the entirety of Final Fantasy VII on 3ds thru the ps1 emulator, the final cutscene broke for some reason but other than that it worked great :D it took like 80 hours or something :D

honestly im not sure if you talked about this in previous videos, but red viper is a virtual boy emulator which is like wow what a stupid novelty, but because the 3ds can actually display 3d images, red viper can display the left and right eye images at the same time and virtual boy games can be played the way they were intended. because the library for it is so small too, i was able to just get all the games for it. also the color can be changed so no ugly red
