honestly im not sure if you talked about this in previous videos, but red viper is a virtual boy emulator which is like wow what a stupid novelty, but because the 3ds can actually display 3d images, red viper can display the left and right eye images at the same time and virtual boy games can be played the way they were intended. because the library for it is so small too, i was able to just get all the games for it. also the color can be changed so no ugly red

Blood to someone into these kind of games basically feels totally different to DOOM in basically everything other than being a shooter of the era. The main one id point out are the enemies, the main ones you fight are basically hitscanning cultists that are somehow the most satisfying and frustrating enemies in any FPS. The TNT is vital for dealing with them, being able to take them out before they can make you Swiss cheese. Also for Quake, you can use the gyro to aim in these ports IIRC, which is much closer to a mouse than even a standard xbox controller.

i played the entirety of Final Fantasy VII on 3ds thru the ps1 emulator, the final cutscene broke for some reason but other than that it worked great :D it took like 80 hours or something :D
Blood actually has a lot more In common with duke nukem 3d than doom even built on the same engine though the theming of doom and blood are very similar and a popular mod called bloom crosses over the two
You'll probably only ever boot it up once for 5 minutes and say "Neat!", but the Virtual Boy emulator Red Viper is absolutely worth checking out. Makes use of the 3DS' screen, and plays at full speed.
Only thing I'd add is that injecting GBA games as virtual console is a great option for GBA on 3DS. It doesn't emulate them, it runs them in GBA mode on DSI mode. Running GBA natively doesn't give you as many options, like you can't swap buttons or anything but compatibility and performance is of course superb. I personally use this method for GBA so I can have the games on my home screen and because it leaves me assured I don't have to deal with audio delay in Mother 3. Extra context: Mother 3 is notorious for the rhythm battles being hard, but that's (partially) only because emulators add extra audio delay that makes them harder than they're supposed to be. Natively running the game removes this issue :) Oh and a port worth checking out is Mr.Huu's Fallout 1 port it's incredible how well it plays.
Open agb firm is only useful if you have a giant gba rom list due to the Home Screen limit. If you only have a handful of gba games it’s better to use virtual console injects, since it still plays them natively and you don’t need to turn off and on the 3ds to play them or change games
I think the best way of playing GBA on 3DS is open_agb_firm. It takes advantage of the fact that the GBA, DS, and 3DS all use the same ARM architecture, and allows you to play GBA games natively.
If any of you want to play PS1 games, you're better off modding a PSP since they can natively run PS1 classics. You can unlock the emulator by swapping out a file, and everything should go smoothly.
PS1 emulation is actually very good and works well. Some stuff wants to be in bin/cue (save states work) and others want chd format (no save states). This is also assuming you have a NEW 3ds.
there's an even better gba emulator on the 3ds and works with more games and its called open agb firm and you can get it from the universal updater and once its installed then you turn it off and when go to turn it on first hold down the start button and then press the power button and once it turns on select open agb firm from the chain loader list hope this helps
GBA games can be played natively on 3ds using open_agb_firm. It has to be booted using the chainloader (like godmode9 is) but the benefit of it is it boots up and shuts down really fast and plays without any stuttering, because its native
ps1 emulation on new hardware is perfect, i don't get any framedrops for any games and there are absolutely no audio issues - if anybody wants help setting it up feel free to ask me :D

Pinbox is kinda buggy, at least for me. Like it hasn't worked for me since before... _the virus_ . Someone actually ported Moonlight to the 3ds recently and it works FLAWLESSLY (for moonlight) so I see no reason for anyone to use pinbox if they don't already.
Mario 64 (not DS) is also on hshop for possibly the easiest download option too. For anyone wondering about N64 emulation it is... not great. Mario 64 is really the only game I've gotten to run well on it with little to no glaring issues. PS1 emulation works better in my experience but it's still not great, I've gotten Xenogears, Warcraft 2 (with audio glitches) and that one Castlevania game to run well enough on it. (keep in mind N64/PS1 emulation only works on New models, don't even dream about trying it on older models) Speaking of PC games too, Myst was actually officially ported to the 3ds, but if you have other options you would probably want to look at those instead, as I hear it is one of THE worst ports of the game.
SAG: There's a mod that lets you play DS games with the circlepad in 360 movement. Me: well there goes my idea for a Custom DS Option Pak... that would be compatible with a DSi 2 GBM slot adapter. But then again, you can't exactly play Guitar Hero On Tour on the 3DS (XL)

I'd highly suggest to check some fan translated games too there's 2 that i currently have on my 3ds namely "Ni no kuni - The Jet Black Mage and The Great Ace Attorney".
From experience, PS1 games don't work very well on even a New 3DS XL. Even downscaling the quality to be very bad they still crash frequently. I tried out a handful of games. If anyone has been successful in getting a PS1 game to run I would be interested in hearing about it though 👀 I also was never able to get space pinball working.
I’ve got RetroArch working on 3Ds and it works fine for gran turismo 1, all I had to do was get the eu version cause it loaded different chunks at different times but works with no issues
For majoras mask 3d, the project restoration mod should ALWAYS be used GBA emulation is pretty much useless considering the 3ds can natively play gba games either through injects or open agb firm
