Or you could make Michael's sister be Booster Gold or Goldstar and leave Michael in the future. Sure he has everything he ever wanted but none of the character change that came with going to the past. Michael is now a heartless egotistical jerk, with no regard for his family or anyone else at all. And since mainstream Booster Gold is stuck in the Absolute Universe he could run into this billionaire morally bankrupt version of himself and see how far he has gone and how far he could've fallen.
Then Michelle becomes Gold Star not to gain fortune but because since Michael is a success she is forgotten by everyone and goes into the past to become a superhero. That way she can get the attention and love she lost and show it off to Absolute Michael only for her to realize Michael, due to his arrogance, simply forgot about her.

You have in team negative energy pretend to be a human, brain in metal armor, woman who is dissolvable gum. Or, you know, Jane with multiple personalities. Doom Patrol has always been a story about being sick and finding acceptance for your flaws, and you can explore this much, much deeper. For example, by turning up the heat on their illness to the maximum. It would no longer be a story about a team fighting abstract threats (because they wouldn't be able to fight anything), but it would be interesting to see that even in a rubber stain spilled on the floor with a woman's voice there could be something inspiring.)
This pitch gives me so much Question energy it's crazy. - I love it. I guess it's no surprise since that iconic run was _also_ written by O'Neil. I love stories where jerkwads become superheroes for all the wrong reasons but slowly change and expand their worldviews after being exposed to the people they protect. Spider-Man 2099 by Peter David's another great example.
In my opinion: I think the perfect villain for absolute Green Arrow is Clock King. In my opinion he was one of my least favorite Green Arrow villains on the basis that he’s counter-productive to the point of Green Arrow. Oliver Queen is supposed to be a champion of the oppressed but when it comes to Clock King and his origin, Green Arrow is positioned as the oppressor.
I love this idea, and now it’s got me thinking about how it would handle Roy’s drug addiction. Maybe in this continuity, Roy is already clean, but Oliver, being a spoiled party bro, occasionally uses drugs recreationally. But then one day something happens that makes Oliver use more frequently, becoming fully addicted. Maybe if fight gets the Superville and goes wrong and Oliver starts taking more pain medication than necessary? Or maybe he’s left traumatized by witnessing the violence inflicted on innocent people by the villain? Regardless, it would be really interesting to see a complete reverse of how the original storyline went down, with Roy, having prior experience with his own history of drug addiction, helping Oliver get clean, as opposed to the comics where Oliver just punches Roy. It would be a huge turning point in their relationship, where this version of Oliver would stop seeing Roy as just another accessory to his crime fighting hobby, and start seeing him more as an equal partner.
I like the idea that when Oliver is at the start of his arc he looks more like his new 52 self where he’s clean shaven and his development physically shows with him growing out the goatee we all know and love
Always really glad you give comic recommendations, a few days after I watched this I found three of them at half price books for cheap. Really enjoyed year one and started quiver.
Would Absolute Supergirl have her being the one sent to Earth as a baby instead of Kal? That would make for an interesting dynamic. What made her different to Superman was that she grew up on Krypton. But if she didn't have those experiences, then who is she?
My idea for Absolute Green Arrow was to have Roy be the titular character but not having any connection to Oliver in the slightest, main reason was so that in the future we could have a role reversal of sorts as Oliver Queen becomes the Red Arrow, for the fun of it and a genuine interest in what Roy is doing so we can have a this adult billionaire taking lessons on how to be a hero from a street deliquent turned teenage vigilant.
Genuinely DC is really good at marketing comics to a wider audience. Their movie trailers end with comic recommendations, they have bundles based on movies, they FILL the cheap comic section at Ollie's with some genuinely cool titles, and their new "compact comics" line sells thick and short books for only $9.99! Finally comics I can easily take out on my lunch break!
I’m intrigued by the absolute universe and hopefully I can read some of them when I get a chance. I always find it funny the arrow show is what got me reading comics and especially Green Arrow ones ( back when I didn’t understand the character like that). To be fair I was 13 and just starting reading them.
I myself have some ideas on a Red Hood (that would be considered an 'Absolute') which is....'What if Jason never became Robin II, never got adopted by Bruce, never died, never resurrected....but still became Red Hood?'
The gasp I made when you said Absolutely Green Lantern is written by Al Ewing AND centres on Jo!!! 😮😮😮 I'm absolutely (🤭) subscribing to that!!! I freaking love Far Sector and am so happy Jo, even from a different universe, is finally back in the spotlight, getting the attention she deserves 😤
This pitch basically gives the green arrow version of Omniman, he's pretending to be someone much better than he actually is and during that time he starts realizing that the role he's playing has rubbed off on him
my absolute universe hot take is that when they introduce robin, it should be stephanie brown. obviously i'm biased but i also think steph is the robin most defined by trying to live up to the legacy of robin, of wanting to be part of the legend, so taking away the lineage of robin would make it harder for her to feel like she belongs or know what she's about. also, she'd challenge bruce and fit in with this version of him more, a reckless and sometimes self-destructive girl from a bad home life who is effectively the same as him, thus making the connection very natural. this would also be a prime opportunity for DC to finally rectify the crime of how dirty they did Steph as robin way back in war drums

At this point, I feel like Troy is going to physically implode if there are no new plans for Green Arrow announced in the next 3-5 years.
“Blue Beetle without the scarab” Troy that’s Ted Kord lol
Making Black Canary Otomonopea is actually the peak of peak fiction thats an insanely good idea
This doesn’t count as the green arrow prewrite
the fact absolute batman's logo turns into a battle axe automatically validates the design
The second you revealed Dinah my mind was blown and I was sold banger ideas as usual
I like the idea that when Oliver is at the start of his arc he looks more like his new 52 self where he’s clean shaven and his development physically shows with him growing out the goatee we all know and love
Dude I love your videos so much. They're so cosy. They feel like a warm hug
When I’m in a green arrow fanboy contest and my opponent is troyoboyo.
Make her star lord
We’re getting spoiled with these uploads lmao
@@Sonshinestudios-o3c We really are and I’m loving it.
@@willsherman4044 same here pal!
Now I want an Absolute Red Hood run that actually does the character well because currently I feel he's been underutilized or completely wasted.
I myself have some ideas on a Red Hood (that would be considered an 'Absolute') which is....'What if Jason never became Robin II, never got adopted by Bruce, never died, never resurrected....but still became Red Hood?'
@@scifiguy9000 hmmmmm interesting.
I’d love to read Absolute Constantine, where he’s almost entirely zen and acts as this enlightened figure almost like a Buddha
Absolutely fantastic pitch and appreciate the recs! Really need to read that mike grell run
I think Absolute Cyborg could be really interesting or even Absolute Booster Gold
I'm surprised it took this long for this video to be made
The gasp I made when you said Absolutely Green Lantern is written by Al Ewing AND centres on Jo!!! 😮😮😮 I'm absolutely (🤭) subscribing to that!!!
I freaking love Far Sector and am so happy Jo, even from a different universe, is finally back in the spotlight, getting the attention she deserves 😤
This pitch basically gives the green arrow version of Omniman, he's pretending to be someone much better than he actually is and during that time he starts realizing that the role he's playing has rubbed off on him
This line gives me "hellboy" wonder woman, Dark Ages Batman, and actual alien superman. Take. My. Money.
my absolute universe hot take is that when they introduce robin, it should be stephanie brown. obviously i'm biased but i also think steph is the robin most defined by trying to live up to the legacy of robin, of wanting to be part of the legend, so taking away the lineage of robin would make it harder for her to feel like she belongs or know what she's about. also, she'd challenge bruce and fit in with this version of him more, a reckless and sometimes self-destructive girl from a bad home life who is effectively the same as him, thus making the connection very natural. this would also be a prime opportunity for DC to finally rectify the crime of how dirty they did Steph as robin way back in war drums
