As a well seasoned buccaneer, this update will be great in the long run! The new chest of fortune may be the new Athena everyones after too.

@RyanFlug3642 I personally don't think the update is super amazing tbh. But it's not bad either. And they're definitely not wrong about the Chest of fortune becoming the new Chest of legends. But we will have to see how season 9 turns out, and at the very least season 10 is supposedly gonna be really big!

I like all of these (even fog) except for voyages for cursed chests. Kinda kills the thrill of finding them
I myself don't do voyages anyway. But I kinda agree.
There will also be 50 million ancient coins up for grabs with increased spawn rate. As well as a two day long community weekend.

I was looking through my clothing chest in SoT and I have a item labeled |Placeholder| and it looks like the belt that would belong to the set locked behind those chest of fortune commendations

The loot not being lost in the Red Sea is probably my favorite part, was no point in even doing pvp because as soon as you shot 1 cannonball at a ship they’d just run towards the edge of the map.
That's why season 8 was my favorite season ever. It became all I do because adventure pvp had that stuff happen all the time.
I have a feeling the game will revert back to the pre hourglass age. Mainly because people who have gone for the curses now have them and want to have normal adventures again. So I think this will be an update that doesn’t bring huge features, but instead more smaller ones that improve other aspects of the game. Like with the skull more FOTD, ghost ships back means wraith cannonballs, and keg voyages means more keg combat. So yeah this will please everyone.
I myself will still be doing lots of hourglass when this update comes out. But it will make me start stealing some forts again which I haven't done in a while because of s8

Great video! I would add a couple things here and there, such as boarder callouts for boards made or missed, players killed, players returned, if you are anchoring them, and how much water they are taking on. I also usually find it very helpful to board the enemy when death spiraling and I see them both bailing, it usually seals the deal very well.

This season is gonna be a breath of fresh air for the game, hopefully new players can get some events done now and be able to turn them in with the new balance changes. hopefully that keeps them around longer and lets them get better before they get discouraged
The faster players can finish events the faster I can steal them 😈

Me and my girly shit on a sloop that rolled up on us yesterday because of the tips I learned from your vid’s man 😎 my ship was literally on fire and I stayed chill and I was able to snap their mast, Kaila put ‘em in a death spiral, then I boarded them and sunk em 😎

@@Chor-SeaOfThieves there’s a lot of ones I like, but I think some of my tops are the harpoon update and the changing world events based on crew difficulty. I think I’ll be trying a lot more if the events now.

It would be cool if skelly curse cosmetics were in the season pass kinda like pl rewards at the end of it.

I don't know what to think of the red sea changes. Right now I am either solo or with a very inexperianced crew(my friends) so I do not have the slightest chance in PvP since my game runs at 30fps on a good day so my ship getting boarded results in an instant loss. Only thing I can do to not give those guys my loot without any effort is trying to escape into the red sea and now that it's gone I can only scuttle. On the other side I guess this would piss me off if someone else dicided to do this when I get a PC that can handle the game so I can go fight.
Even while red seaing loot is a thing right now boats are still able to retrieve loot in the red sea. It's just very difficult. So it really just makes it so that getting someone's loot that red seas isn't as annoying and difficult.

When you said the rate of shipwrecks will be increased that is incorrect. It's actually the distance that shipwrecks re-created they won't be far away in the middle of nowhere anymore. The Athena compass is acquired through dabloons for pl only ppl its a voyage u buy.. also if you sell fish at soverns u take a 50% loss vs seapost.. You gotta watch live stream before u make a video

Tbh This sounds promising, I stoped playing because of season 7 and came back for season 8 and had the fear of getting off again because what could they add but actually I think it’s really good if the FoF came back, Back in 2021 I started and the FoFs were hyped and I always tried to steal them but was to bad but now I could probably steal a few
All I've been doing lately is hourglass. I myself haven't done FoF steals in awhile, but that's what I use to do a lot
I just hope and season 9 fix the one thing that we players I’ve been arguing about since the launch of the game hitrag

True but it is nice that you can see precisely where it is now also. For if people are trying to hide it.
I think it's a much needed update mate. Some are whingeing but we've had some big updates recently not to mention season 8 was the best so far IMO. I still think they should have added the ability to drop cosmetics and weapons you no longer use. Specially weapons. Having to trawl through loads of weapons to get you favorite is annoying. It's a little thing but would make a big difference. Season 10 is going to be huge. Heard that rare are outsourcing developers to get help! Big things on the horizon
Ya, it's definitely not that big of an update. But as you already said, season 10 should be really big! Hopefully they also start adding more quality of life changes like you said such as maybe favoriting certain weapons so only they show up in the armoury!

A big meh from me. Just a few changes, nothing really big. Plus, I hope the shrouded ghost won’t be common lol. I was hoping for reaper quests where you could rob Holden sands bank but oh well.

Even though the changes to the fort of fortune is nice I still probably won’t do them because it’s still too big of a risk sense I mainly play solo.
Try stealing them like I'll be doing then! I never do the forts I just steal them from people, it's wayyyyyyy more fun in my opinion.

The harpoon changes and the ability to sell fish to the sovereigns are not a good idea. Making it faster for uncoordinated crews to load up their ship and get away after completing an event lowers the risk of pvp, and the Sovereigns are OP enough as it is; making sea posts completely unnecessary is not the way to go.
I agree with you a little on this. Especially when contesting world events will be a large part of season 9. It will make it way faster for people to load up the loot from them and get out of there.

At least you could turn off your exploits for the video. People are watching this and seeing your tuned down graphic settings for in game advantage. Graphic settings are to make game more accessible for older machines, not to see players in the water easier. Don't promote the game uglier than it is, it's bad publicity.

To each their own! It's always personally driven me nuts when it happens during hourglass pvp. Especially solos because it drags fights on.
@@Chor-SeaOfThieves No worries at all man, like you said. I'm pretty new to the game though, so maybe after I play awhile I'll feel the same. The second play session I played, I went for a reaper chest, not knowing what it was. Needless to say, megalodon, kraken, storm lol. Took me a minute to find the reapers hide out. Turned in the chest and came out to my ship, only to get my ass handed to me by skelly ships lol. Goddamn I love this game lol
