I don't like the idea of a "Nintendo Kart" instead of a Mario Kart. However, I'm fine with a "Nintendo Racing" crossover that's more in-line with Sonic All-stars or any number of car combat/arcade racers with characters in their own vehicles rather than cartoony go-karts & bikes. Have Captain Falcon in the Blue Falcon, Samus in her ship, Fox in a landmaster, a car from Stunt Race FX, Bowser in his pimp-mobile from 3D World etc.
I'm against the idea of Nintendo Kart too, I simply love the creativity behind the devs on each new track, they made a bath themed track super fun and when allowed can revamp old mid tracks into something way more fun, and all of this could be lost if they were forced to work with established places from some games, Smash can barely add new themes without feeling repetitive, I don't want the same for MK.
On the topic of tracks, I think Piranha Plant Pipeline should absolutely be a Tour retro track since it's the only new track from Tour that wasn't part of the Booster Course Pass.
@@mariobroultimate1808the issue with that is Tour and the BCP released concurrently, so the courses could be labeled as original to both games (even though they're all technically Tour courses first). Even if the next game released tomorrow with PPP in it, enough time has passed since the end of Tour and the BCP that it would 100% be called a Tour track
I'm leaning heavy on team KEEP THE MARIO IN MARIO KART here. Yes seeing Fox behind the wheel would be cool, but the Mario universe is so vast, it doesn't NEED other Nintendo characters to make a good roster
Rainbow Road Concept, you start in a Street Road in a City, then each player goes in a rocket ship and boosts all the way up to space till they land and they do some turns around planets, then 2nd lap, they go inside Jupiter, and there’s rocks inside to watch out for, then the final lap they land in a forgotten planet and do some tricks and turns there then leave and make a fall from space to earth with a gorgeous final lap music playing as players fall then take 1 final turn and you completed the race
Quite honestly, I really dont want Nintendo Kart. It would be a gateway for Nintendo to put all of their IP's into all of their spinoffs (party games, sports games etc.) and it would decrease the interest in crossovers immediately. Let Mario be Mario.
I lean towards your take most times, but I do think that there are so many great courses that could come from branching into other franchises, im conflicted
@@moneykenny119 I can understand that angle for sure, but it wouldn't feel so special anymore once we've passed the threshold. Mario Kart 8 is already pushing the limit.
I think it could be interesting if they don’t include the same roster as Smash and they keep Mario Kart “cartoonish”, no Bayo, no Samis, No Cap. Falcon
yeah, like maybe have a few non Mario or DK characters in the roster, like maybe 6 max like they did in MK8 with the Inklings, the villagers, Isabelle and Link, this way the roster is still mainly focused on Mario so for example instead of having Splatoon, Animal Crossing and Zelda, they can pick 3 different ones this time such as Pikmin, Kirby and Xenoblade (so characters from these 3 they could use would be Olimar, Louie, Kirby, King Dedede, Shulk and Rex)
The wide reach of the courses in the non smash-cart side gave me inspiration, maybe we split the difference and the game is only mario characters, but goes loose with the definition of Mario characters. We are already allowed to have a few kongs and poochie, so why not open it up more? Get spin-off representation with Vivian and falafel, get wario land representation with captain syrup, warioware rep with jimmy T and Mona, mansion rep with Egadd, and peach showtime with a sparkla. I think we could get a lot of new and very different feeling faces in the game without actually leaving the broad “Mario-verse”.
I’m glad the Metroid track being a section level with an escape sequence idea I’ve liked for a long time made it into the video. Never thought about making the finish line Samus’s ship though, that’s really good.
It could be a mount wario type ending where once you finish the race, your characters sit at the end but instead of just waiting, after all the characters arrive at the end on a platform below samus’s ship, it could rise up into it
Content speculation for future games can be a fun topic, and I have another one for you. You mentioned it in this video and it's a fan favorite, so here's a suggestion: what sort of content could we see in a Kirby Air Ride sequel? We've had a LOT of Kirby since that game's come out, so there's no shortage of material to pull from. I would be curious to see how you'd handle a video like that.
Garreg Mach Monastery as a non-looping course starting at the market square while the cathedral gates open as the countdown starts (also the clock tower Fire Emblem theme jingle plays briefly just before the race preview ends.) Finish it up with Emporer Edelgard as a racer. Don't worry she sports her Emporer class armor when riding bikes like the all-new Wyvern Wing.
While the concept of a “Nintendo Kart” is intriguing, Mario Kart should remain true to its roots. Smash Bros. is the only franchise I’m interested to see another installment of.
When I did my Mario Kart fan roster, I did "Everybody's Here." When I last updated it, at least not since Poochy was added to Turour. I went for 6 weight classes to get everybody on it. Eather, Light, Middle, Cruser, Heavy, Monster. The Kooplings, Bower Jr. Boom Boom, and Pom Pom were all spread out two per weight class, with Bower being in monster. They could be the opponents if they wanted a Story Mode this time. Also had a version of Mario in every weight class, Also a Kong but it worked out that way I didn't aim for it. I added Ninj, Cappy, Luma, E.Gadd, Zelda, Ganondorf, and K.Roll. Captain Toad, Captain Falcon, Pit. Ocotoling, Dr. Mario, Mewoser, Ashliy, and Formen Spike. Think I started making the Rouster before Palune was in Turror. And for the Final Challenge and unlockable fighter, somebody in his own character class. Sonic! He has the best stats in the game, but since he's running, not driving, he gets pushed around by everything and might need to rest if he gets banged up to mutch.
A Mario Wonder styled MK would be awesome. Constantly changing laps that send you in different directions and affect the track for every player. I reckon this is what Nintendo was trying to trial with the BCP’s changing lap tracks
This is my idea for the DLC of both your ideas: DLC Racers: Set 1: Baby Peach Baby Daisy Baby Rosalina Baby Wario (NEW) Jimmy T. if nintendo ever made a nintendo kart, theyd HAVE to have sonic as a secret third party character, its such a low hanging fruit, especially for a crossover racing game
I am always so blown away at not only the presentation but the eloquence at which you get your ideas across! We would be lucky to get anything like either of the ideas! Awesome stuff!!
So I got to pitch this track idea I've had a while. I love the idea of a track that is inside of a museum. Driving through exhibits, on bones, into the back collection area. I think you could theme this around Captain Toad. Have each area be themed on a place he visited in his own game, and many of the exhibits/statues and such is things in the game or from the wider Mario universe. Also could have collectibles and such in the collections room showing all the stuff you could collect.
I want Mario Kart Legacy. A game that brings in characters from all kinds of spin-offs. Vivian and Kammy from Paper Mario. Fawful and Starlow from Mario and Luigi. Mallow and Geno from Mario RPG. Some weird human from the old Mario sports games. That kinda stuff. And cups would be themed around eras of the Mario franchise. A set of arcade themed courses, NES, SNES, N64, GC, Wii, and Switch. Alongside 7 retro course cups, and the special cup that would have a multi-franchise one lap crossover course, a Mario Party themed track, and the new Bowser’s Castle and Rainbow Road.
Obviously it's not on your list of rosters at the end of the video, but I'd like to suggest the idea of a Fire Emblem fighting game (perhaps to take the Zelda FG spot after your patreon members choose it) as I think a roster of the franchise's characters without the stigmatized impression they have from Smash could really show people what the franchise as a whole is all about, at least as far as variety in fighting styles, especially if it were to mix unique lord characters with regular class characters that could represnt numerous less important characters from throughout the franchise.
A nintendo kart game without Pokemon and Fire emblem would be confusing. I think adding Marth and Red&Pikachu combo would be pretty cool. Your extra additions would be spot on for a base roster or dlc i think. Great video
Pretty solid rosters on both ends, and I love the course lineups! Although there's a few nitpicks I have... Such as how the crossover roster would probably cut back on Mario reps a littttle more for Nintendo characters. Like... I ABSOLUTELY want Cappy in a Mario roster (its long overdue lol), but he almost feels out of place there. Same with the babies, and even staples like Birdo and Petey. And then on the Mario side, I'd love it if a character actually unique to the Mario RPGs like Paper Mario was added... but I do understand that's a slim chance. Paper Mario is our best bet... smh. And of course, Dr Mario, Gooigi, and even Metal Mario reek of that clone energy for me still... I'd be so annoyed if we lost a lot of the uniquely individual characters who were in MK8D, or are in Tour and haven't been ported to consoles yet, but those 3 freaking made it in lol.
This is really cool to see! Admittedly though, I do feel like there’s a few too many Mario Bros. clones in Roster A; counting the babies, Metal, Doctor, Paper and Gooigi, it seems to be generally just a bit much and kinda dampens the more exciting aspect of picking out a roster - namely going for more exciting choices or deep cuts while sticking to the source material. Characters like Penny, Fawful or Vivian would have been really exciting to see. Regardless though, amazing video overall, you put tons of work into this and it shows!
I agree that there are too many Mario Bro variations, but I also don't think we'll see characters from the RPGs make the jump into any kind of Mario kart or sports games. That's the domain of the mainline Mario & DK games. It's usually because they can reuse assets from those games with no issues. Though it would be nice to see some more Wario characters like Penny & Ashley.
@@i.m.evilhomer5084 That’s also pretty fair - I just figured since he prefaced at the start of the video that some of the characters would be some more outlandish and unlikely choices that more characters like those would be on the table.
23:13 YES! I was thinking about Spring Man and The Trainee throughout the guyst portion, I think they’d be awesome guest characters for the next mario kart
The main issue I have with the idea of Nintendo Kart, or Smash Kart, is that a lot of people I've seen push for it also say that Mario's completely tapped out for ideas, both mainline and deeper digging, in terms of characters and race courses. Everything that happened last year regarding the world of Mario, and it's various subseries, should have brought a hatchet to the credibility of that notion. This is Nintendo's biggest franchise, and seeing how much it's grown and evolved over the years, I think a game celebrating that kind of legacy is LOOOOOONG overdue. I don't entirely hate the idea of Nintendo Kart, or even having more guest characters, I just feel like Mario's already got such a giant well of potential on its own, it doesn't need to bring in other universes to feel exciting.
With Mario Kart, im fine with maybe a few crossovers like they did in MK8 with Animal Crossing, Zelda and Splatoon (F-Zero got 2 tracks and Excitebike had the one), but it should mainly stick to the Mario cast with a few DK characters. also this is just personal: no more unnecessary baby or metal characters, im fine with there being 4 babies in the roster, but metal mario, tanooki mario, cat peach and pink gold peach should be retconned to being alternate skins for Mario and Peach as for new characters, i do think these guys would be nice to see: King Bob-Omb, Chargin' Chuck, Prince Florian, Cappy, Monty Mole, Blooper (and hopefully a removal of the blooper item, it is useless), Poochy, Nabbit, Ninji, Hammer Bro, Spike, Boom Boom, Pom Pom
While I like the Zebes Escape idea, I think a somewhat less-hectic Metroid rep track would also be good. My suggestion: Brinstar. It could start in the Green Vegetation area, gradually sloping down into the Red Rocky Soil area, boost back up and take a quick trip into Kraid's Lair, then a bit more Green Vegetation before looping. On the first lap, things are quiet... too quiet. There are no enemies as track hazards and the atmosphere is subdued. Just before crossing the lap line, a security eye opens and spots the first driver over the line, alerting the Zebesian forces to the racers' presence, kicking things into higher gear. Alien creatures crawl out of the walls and become a nuisance, and Kraid emerges partway in his lair. On the last lap, some sections of grating that formed part of the track have broken open, exposing pits populated by Samus-Eaters (the toothy rafflesia-like plants) to avoid. Kraid has fully emerged and spits rocky detritus that rains down in the last stretch. And besides the hostile beings, both the Etecoons and Dachora, the friendly "animals", also live in Brinstar. The Etecoons could drop extra item blocks onto the track, and Dachora could speed-boost and break open a shortcut at some point. And there you have it! The longest comment I've ever posted...
Genuinely the only thing I'd change here is that I feel like Chain Chomp would be awkward in Mario Kart as a racer, since he'd only be able to steer with his mouth(unless you addressed that in the video I just skimmed through it ngl I could be wrong). Though realistically his spot could be any large Mario enemy, like Boom Boom or Chargin Chuck. In general both of these rosters feel entirely possible for their respective purposes, not feeling too unrealistic
A crossover cart racer kinda diminishes the novelty of Smash Bros imo, but honestly Fire Field is actually a goated choice as a new F-Zero rep. I’d be down for that as a DLC course in a future game.
I would legit cry if they added in his idea for Rainbow Road. It’s just impressive when looking back on how every Rainbow Road was. SNES was the one to start it all, N64 was a masterpiece, GBA was admittedly annoying but at least they made one for it, GCN was the second (and only other course) to utilize the cannon in its intro game, Wii was the last track ever included in MK8DX, DS was only in DS (probably for the better), 3DS was easily my most favorite track in MK7 and I actually cried when I saw it wasn’t in 8 or base game 8 DX (I thought it would never be in the DLC, so imagine how loudly I screamed in excitement when I saw that it returned), and 8’s Rainbow Road was great.
I’ve recently been journaling ideas for a potential "Mario Kart 9" myself. This video had some pretty good ideas, gave me some inspiration. Here’s what I’ve come up with as of now: *Characters* - Mario - Luigi - Peach - Toad - Yoshi - Birdo - Rosalina - Pauline - Koopa Troopa - Dry Bones - Shy Guy - Hammer Bro - Wiggler - Nabbit - Lakitu - Monty Mole - Kamek - King Boo - Petey Piranha - King Bob-Omb - Metal Mario - Donkey Kong - Diddy Kong - Dixie Kong - Funky Kong - King K. Rool - Wario - Waluigi - Bowser - Dry Bowser - Boom Boom - Pom Pom - Bowser Jr. - Larry - Roy - Wendy - Iggy - Morton - Lemmy - Ludwig - Professor E. Gadd - Cappy - Poochy - Link - Zelda - Inkling - R.O.B. - Mii *Nitro tracks* Mushroom Cup - Mario Kart Speedway - Toad Village - DK Beach - Shy Guy Cavern Flower Cup - Mario Circuit - Sand Sand Pyramid - Luigi Highway - Snowcone Summit Star Cup - Waluigi Circuit - Koopa Factory - Sky Temple - Molten Mountain Special Cup - Jungle Acropolis - Ghost Cathedral - Bowser’s Castle - Rainbow Road *Retro tracks* Shell Cup - Tour Piranha Plant Pipeline - SNES Bowser Castle 2 - 3DS Wuhu Loop - Wii U Mute City Banana Cup - SNES Mario Circuit 4 - Wii Toad’s Factory - Wii U Cloudtop Cruise - N64 Wario Stadium Leaf Cup - GBA Broken Pier - Wii U Electrodrome - GCN Wario Colosseum - 3DS Maka Wuhu Lightning Cup - Wii U Big Blue - GCN Mushroom City - DS Bowser’s Castle - GBA Rainbow Road *Battle tracks* Nitro - Battle Motorway - Piranha Plant Beach - Cake Land - Bonneton Heights - Delfino Hills - Moonlight City - Volcano Field - Rainbow Arena Retro - SNES Battle Course 2 - N64 Double Deck - GBA Battle Course 2 - GCN Block City - DS Nintendo DS - Wii Funky Stadium - 3DS Sherbet Rink - NS Urchin Underpass I even thought up a DLC that adds 32 more tracks, for a total of 64. (I don’t have a snazzy name for this DLC yet.) Here are those tracks: Question Cup - Yoshi Woods - Wii U Hyrule Circuit - AGP Pac Labyrinth - Tall Trunk Slide Wonder Cup - DKR Walrus Cove - Petal Isles - SNES Ghost Valley 3 - Super Nintendo World Bob-Omb Cup - Bob-Omb Battlefield - 3DS Wario Shipyard - DS Airship Fortress - Port Town Aero Dive Bullet Cup - Delfino Resort - Maker Mountain - GBA Bowser Castle 4 - AGP Rainbow Coaster Shine Cup - Somnom Labyrinth - Wii Dry Dry Ruins - Sherbet Galaxy - Wii U Sweet Sweet Canyon Blooper Cup - GCN Dino Dino Jungle - GBA Luigi Circuit - Party Island - Bowser Stadium Hammer Cup - 3DS Shy Guy Bazaar - Wario Land - Death Mountain - NS Squeaky Clean Sprint Piranha Plant Cup - Cavi Cape Cliffside - Alterna - N64 Bowser’s Castle - DS Rainbow Road
They should just do what 8 did and have a few crossover characters and tracks in a DLC. The people who want non Mario characters get them and the people who want it to stay Mario Kart keep it like that. Win situation for both sides.
If we get a Nintendo Kart (and I REALLY hope we do), I want it to stand out more and have a separate identity from Mario Kart. I remember watching a video made by RelaxAlax that captured an awesome style. Basically, take Disney Speedstorm (minus the microtransactions) and the first Sonic and Sega All-Stars racing, with a pinch of the Mario Sports titles for a brand new kart racer that makes every character stand out with their own style. -Everyone gets their own vehicle. -Characters grouped by archetype and driving style rather than just weight. -Give characters either a unique super ability or a bunch of gimmicky quirks (Captain Falcon could basically be the exact same as his original series, energy bar and all.) The end result? The Super Smash bros. of kart racing! Balancing might be complicated, but it would also be really fun.
With the Death mountain track, you could make gorons launch you like the chucksters in Super Mario Sunshine, there could also be a Mario Sunshine course using chucksters as well!
With the Switch 2 (most likely) being backwards compatible, that would mean Mario Kart 8 Deluxe would still be available to purchase. I think that the next game needs to go in an entirely different direction to stand out from the massive amount of content that MK8D has That direction being… hear me out… an open world similar to those seen in the Forza Horizon and Need for Speed franchises! A large map with many setpieces based on various established Mario universe themes (grasslands, deserts, tundras, a jungle, a city, a volcano). Throughout the map would be Toads/other NPCs that when talked to will set up a race course or battle course or maybe even some DS style missions within the open world for the player to complete (with an option to select these things from the main menu for multiplayer of course) DLC could be handled similar to Forza too, have a costal town area with a ferry that takes the player to some smaller islands, maybe themed after other Nintendo franchises (Hyrule, Animal Crossing, Inkopolis, Wuhu Island?) As a patron, I’ll totally be voting for the Zelda Fighting Game!
Excellent work, and I would like to see Xenoblade Warriors or Smash 6 stages. I also have a couple ideas for DLC Pegasus Cup- adds Anna from Fire Emblem and courses are based around Judrgal, Elibe, Daiein and a mix of Ylisse, Hoshido/Nohr and Fodlan. Mondo Cup- adds Ethier Riki, Tora, Riku or Manana. Courses are based on the different worlds. Sega Cup- adds Sonic and courses based on Ethier Classic sonic stages or rip out Sega All Stars. Capcom Cup- adds MegaMan and courses are based on fire, electric, ice/water and construction robot masters or different Capcom games. Final Fantasy Cup- adds Chocobo and Mog and stages are based on the four elemental crystals.
I think I'd be more ideal to have a Sarasaland track were you go through *every* kingdom within it, not just Birabuto, many already have a misconception of Sarasaland being just and nothing *but* a desert and a Sarasaland track representing only Birabuto would reinforce that misconception.
Something I can imagine for that city you described in your design for a new Rainbow Road would be for it to bear a more than passing resemblance to Dinohattan from the live action movie

Sonic goes in the crossover, he runs on foot, on the glide Tails swoops down and is your glider, in the underwater section he either goes in a bubble or drowns jaja
I think a good idea for the cossover game is to have alternate outfits/colors for characters. Kirby could have the rest of the kirby colors like yellow, green, red, and blue. Meta Knight could have 3 alts based on Dark Meta Knight, Galacta Knight, and Morpho Knight. Inklings and Octolings could have outfits based on Agent 3, Agent 4, and Agent 8. Pit could have a Dark Pit alt.
Nintendo Kart is something that everyone has been thinking of and it seems super fun, I'd be really happy with all the different unique characters and items
I would like to see costumes, which would include both palette swaps and new designs. Tour sort of had this, but they were entirely separate characters. Would be easier to balance because they’d have the same stats, and it would be a good way to add in things like cat Mario and Dr. Mario without people complaining that they take up a spot. Plus, it would be another easy way to monetize the game with costume DLC.
That hookshot item literally sounds like the rope item from Lego Racers. I would find it hilarious if Nintendo actually took an idea directly from one of the first kart racers i ever played. Also, seeing my boy Kirby in ario Kart after that was teased in Rosalina's Sm4sh trailer would make me very happy. Dedede would be an instant main for me in a "Nintendo kart" game btw.
Great ideas, I really like what you came up with! The non-Mario character and course choices are well-thought-out. It's hard to say whether Mario Kart should stick primarily to Mario, or branch out into "Nintendo Kart". If it was the latter, maybe it would be better as a kind of spin-off, with different mechanics in some way, rather than being "the next Mario Kart". If I was in charge, I'd add (unlockable?) costumes for each character (or at least, most of them), like Fire/Ice/Raccoon/etc for most of the "core" cast, or having the Baby or Koopaling characters all be costumes (so they only take up one "spot"), as a way to add more variety; Dr. Mario and Gooigi could be costumes too, for instance. MK Tour has a lot of costumes/variations already, so they could all be brought in. Granted, this would probably be a lot of extra work, if custom animations were involved. I'd also add these Mario characters to the consideration list: Goomba, Monty Mole, Hammer Bro, Boom Boom/Pom Pom, Wart (a really deep cut!), Pianta, the Broodals from Odyssey, the Shiverians also from Odyssey (mostly because they're cute), Raphael Raven from Yoshi's Island, and maybe even Mary O. from Mario Maker (another "deep cut", or at least an unexpected choice).
I have some ideas for potential Sonic content: -Characters: Sonic (M), Tails (M), Dr. Eggman (L) Emerald Cup Idea 1: Just because it's only Sonic characters running the race, doesn't mean Sonic's fellow all-stars aren't given service. -Seaside Hill (The seeming default when it comes to Sonic and racing games, racers speed through a beautiful beach environment as well as portions of Ocean Palace, avoiding Egg Pawns and rolling wheels along the way) -Samba Carnival (Race through the festive streets of a Latin-American town while Amigo and his crew celebrate from the sidelines) -Tokyo-to (Understand the concept of love as you drive through a 90s-esque urban landscape. Try not to run into Beat and Gum as they skate by) -Dream Valley (Fly around the beautiful Spring Valley level, featuring plenty of glider segments to harken to the game of origin. If you look carefully, you can spot NiGHTS themselves flying alongside you) Emerald Cup Idea 2: Just plain old Sonic based tracks -Seaside Hill -Chemical Plant (the second most brought back level in the series, the pink Mega Mack lends itself to decent stretches of underwater driving) -Casino Park (another grab from Heroes, this sectioned course takes you along glamorous streets and even a giant pinball table) -Egg Speedway (an original course designed by Eggman to put racers through the paces, Egg Pawns, crushing pistons, and maybe a Death Egg Robot serve to impede you as you race through this industrial shell of evil)
I really enjoyed this video! Sometimes I watch these and just violently disagree because they take it too far, where it doesn’t feel like the same franchise anymore. Eventhough you took creative liberties that might not actually happen, it feels very well thought out and grounded within the franchise!
These are both very inticing ideas, I think you did a great job exploring both. As cool as a Nintendo crossover with the same love and creativity as Smash being put into a racing game would be, if I had to choose, I think I'd rather take more of roster A that explores more of the Mario universe. At the same time I'd keep crossovers to a minimum so as long as they fit the Mario universe in some way. I think what was brought in 8 and 8 deluxe can stay, and I'd personally stick to an Octoling, Kirby and Captain Falcon as the new crossover picks (with maybe ROB coming back). As enticing as it would be to have more non-Mario characters, I feel like that could easily fall into the same pitfalls as Smash when it comes to people debating who should get in next. Here's hoping Nintendo takes a page from CTR's character picks for when they're making the next Mario Kart.
I decided to update my Fan roster again. And Mario, like so many Little guys, I added a Welterclass to get them all in. Feather, Light, and Welters all had 10 before I started adding anybody.
for Mario Golf I would love to see courses based on various Nintendo properties to spice things up, dont necessarily need crossover characters. A Hyrule themed golf course. A golf course where each hole is based on a different pokemon region.
Great video! I love these ideas! It's clear that you put a lot of thought into this, and it shows! I took your roster and cup thought challenge, and here's what I got! Sorry, I took your cup names, and there are some similarities between our ideas, but I made sure that there are plenty of differences as well. Roster: Returning Mario & Co Veterans: Medium Racers: Mario Luigi Peach Daisy Diddy Kong Yoshi Birdo Small Racers: Bowser Jr Dry Bones Koopa Troopa Toad Toadette Kamek Shy Guy Large Racers: Rosalina & Luma (I miss when Luma would float around Rosalina like in MKWii, so I'm voting to return to that) Wario Waluigi Bowser Donkey Kong Funky Kong King Boo Pauline R.O.B Newcomers: Medium Racers: Hammer Bro Geno Ashley Small Racers: Prince Florian Ninji E Gadd Large Racers: King K Rool Guest Characters: Medium Racers: Link Zelda Fox Pit Marth Shulk Small Racers: Kirby Isabelle Inkling/Octoling Olimar Large Racers: Samus Captain Falcon Cups: Crossing Cup Hyrule Circuit (Zelda) Aeropolis Slopes (F-Zero) Corneria Cruise (Star Fox) Island Retreat (Animal Crossing) Splat Cup: Destroyed Skyworld (Kid Icarus) Great Cave Escape (Kirby) Forest of Hope (Pikmin) Inkopolis Junction (Splatoon) Metroid Cup: Ghoul’s Teeth (Fire Emblem) Temple of Time (Zelda) Phantom Road (F-Zero) Phendrana Riftway (Metroid) Triforce Cup Phazon Caverns (Metroid) Prison Island Breakout (Xenoblade) Halberd Halls (Kirby) Gloom’s Approach (Zelda)
as a hyper obsessed splatoon fan, I just wanna give my ideas in different names for the "Splat cup" because I feel like theres more there than just using the series branding. - One of the in-game brands. I think a few stand out like Tentatek, Enperry or Firefin - The Kraken Cup, referencing one of splatoon's most iconic special weapons (much like how the mario cups use iconic items) - The Turf Cup, probably using the logo for Squidforce as they're the in-universe sponsor for Turf Wars and other ink sports. And as a bonus, If this were based on splatoon 3 specifically I would also suggest Anarchy Cup, though that theming will probably be irrelevant by the next game.
Also, with the course itself, I definitely like the idea of racing through multiple different splatoon maps, but they would DEFINITELY have to fudge the geography to get them right next to eachother. Though they kinda already did that in MK8D's battle course by putting inkopolis tower RIGHT by Urchin Underpass in a physically impossible space lol.
I think it’s good for Mario kart to keep a heavy focus on the Mario universe, but I really want to see more characters and tracks from other IP’s. I’ve really wanted to see Kirby, Samus and Octolings in Mario kart for quite some time
If Roster A got DLC, I think it’d be a good idea to have some of Paper Mario’s partners be added as playable characters. Limiting it to just Paper Mario himself for the base game makes sense, after all I think you’d need at least 3 partners playable in the game otherwise something would feel off, and that might be too high a number for a base roster. So DLC provides a perfect opportunity for them.
This was a pretty fun vid. I think after seeing what both versions of this idea have to offer, I’d say I prefer the Mario version over the Crossover version because Mario as an IP has so much to offer in terms of characters and locales that I wouldn’t really want to see other Nintendo IPs take away from the series. In terms of both rosters, I’d say I pretty much agree with all of the Crossover Roster and the characters chosen from other Nintendo series. In terms of the Mario roster, I also mostly agree with the roster however, I think I personally would swap out Dr. Mario and Chain Chomp with Geno and Mallow (I’d have both as Medium). While the chances of those two showing up in Mario’s spinoffs is a bit tricky, I say that if possible, those two would be a welcome addition alongside Mario and friends. I also think maybe to balance out Wario representation as a series, I’d keep Ashley but swap out Mona for Captain Syrup (She would be a heavy). One last character I’d like to get in somehow would be Fawful but out of this roster, I don’t think I’d be willing to swap someone out for the guy. Now in terms of the courses, I don’t really have much to say about what other series could lend in terms of tracks (though actually thinking about it now, a Kirby track based on Gourmet Race would got hard), I actually think there’s a good handful of Mario locales that could work really well as tracks. Courses based on areas like Lake Lapcat, The Last Resort, Forest Maze, a Warioware track, Wrecking Crew, A Mario Maker stage where the track is being built as you drive, maybe a stage based on the Bean Kingdom from Mario & Luigi, and a dedicated Paper Mario track are all good options to choose from. In terms of new items, I like the ones you positioned in this video and an idea I had was what if they put in the Drill item from Wonder and they created a new kind of shortcut that involves digging under certain obstructions. Overall though, this was a very fun vid and I can’t wait to see what you’ll do for future Roster speculation vids (Crossing my fingers for Xenoblade Warriors). Keep up the awesome work Del.
I feel like some of the characters can be reclassed as alts/costumes rather than being their own slot (like how Gold Mario is an alt for Metal Mario in 8 DX) Namely Mario/Doctor Mario Luigi/Gooigi Inkling/Octoling
Both of these ideas sound awesome! While I normally don't play the Mario kart games, I would consider it if any of these ideas came to fruition, especially the crossover idea! Also, how could you forget about Donkey Kong Junior?
I would LOVE if they made tracks based on themes from other games like the Wonderfield you have or an area from odyssey but i dont expect it will happen
Great as always ! Although I would rather have Mario Kart stay Mario themed, I can't say I don't like the roster choices of your second roster. I don't have much Ideas your video doesn't propose, so instead, I am going to share a few DLC racers and courses this video has inspired me. With a few conditions though: -Like Mario kart 8 original DLC, this will only be 2 waves containg 6 new racers and 2 cups for 8 new racetracks* *Roster A could have the retro cups come back, while Roster B must B half Mario, Half Nintendo -the new mario racetracks must be the same for both DLC concepts -Both Rosters racers must be split equally split between each body type: light, medium & large -Roster B Nintendo picks are still restricted to their core teams or franchsie that are close enough (& Kirby) -Finally, Roster's B DLC racers must have 2 Mario characters, and I went even further by limiting myself to 1 from Roster A base roster and one that is common to both. You are all following ? Now let's go ! For the ideas, I will first talk about the racetracks (in no particular order), then the racers for each wave. Wave 1: Cup A (Shell Cup ? Egg Cup ?) - Wooly World: based on Yoshi's aventure on the Wii U, everything in the racetrack looks like wool, perfectly cozy to start the DLC. Note that this is a nickname, as I'm on the fence about how it should be handled, I thought maybe of a tour among the world map, but this would make a lot of work. Maybe base the track on a singular level... so the aesthetic is more consistent, texturing is hard you know. - Rogueport Sewers: The Thoussand year door could give us an interessting course. And the underground ruins of on aold city under a port of scoudrel would make for a fascinanting racetrack. - Koopa Krypt: if your take on Bowser castle is based on Wonder's factory theme, why not make something more classical with lava and Dry ennemies wandering about. - Western stage: Based on the Cowgirl stage from Princess peach showtime, it's a race with a clear starting and end point that lets you in the wild west background of the Sparkle Theatre. Cup B WarpStarcup: - Natural Plain City: based of Kirby's 1st outing in 3D, you drive in the street of the long forgotten city invaded by nature. You can see a member of the beast pack watching the race and Elfilin replaced Lakitu for swinging the checkered flag. - SNES Remix: another course including a mash up of hommages to retro nintendo games, here based on Super Nintendo games: 16 bit Hyrule from A Link To The Past, gourmet race from Kirby SuperStar, a F-Zero racetrack, a flight section through polygonal corneria, and my personnal choice: a race track from Stunt Race FX: a SNES racing game with cartoony living cars & vehicles - Tarrey Town Tour: starting in the Racetrack way below the town, it's a tour through this part of the Akkala Region. - Burenia: based on the water level from Metroid Dread New Racers wave 1: - Hammer Bros. & Cie (Roster A) A Mario Kart Tour Veteran finally making the jump to the main roster. Alongside Boomerang, Fire & Ice Bros. as skins - Wooly Yoshi (Roster A) To go alongside the Wooly World Racetrack, with a lot of the different patterns from the game as Skins - Grape (Roster A) To go alongside the Western Stage, looks like her first defeat motivated her to get back at Peach. - (Bandana) Waddle Dee (Roster B) To alongside the Natural Plain City, always late to the party he is, poor guy - FX StuntCar 2024 (Roster B) The most unique newcomer yet that comes alongside the SNES Remix track. It could go either way: 1° have a car drive a car, 2° Have the Car's body based on the one you equip before entering a race and and add cartoony flashlight eyes - Dry Bowser (Roster B): To go along Koopa crypt, it seems he find a way into Roster B Wave 2: Cup A: Lightning cup ? Bell cup ? - Beanbean Kingdom: a racetrack based on several locals from Mario & Luigi's Superstar Saga - E. Gadd's garage. A mechanical racetrack based around the numerous labs of the old inventor. - Juicy Jungle: a racetrack based on the 5th world of Donkey Kong Country Tropical Freeze, a factory set jungle that's frozen for half of it, making fruit popsicles ! - The moon, based on Mario Odyssey level. Cup B: Castle Cup -Murasame's Castle: the cup's name sake, a tour through feudal japanese setting of the NES game "Mysterious Murasame Castle", but in HD - Hero's Hideaway: based on the Pikmin 4 level, it's racetrack inside a house where you are as tiny as Olimar himself - A new wuhu island racetrack, since we already got a few references to it in Mario Kart 7 - Underworld racetrack: based on the underworld of Kid Icarus New Racers wave 2: -Fawful (Roster A & B) the sole DLC racer to both pack, i didn't want him to be that necessarily but because of the restriction, he kind of fitted into the role, now, the question is: Is going past his death in Bowser's Inside Story worth it ? -Robo Mario (Roster A) A another newcomer from the obscure Mario Kart GP games on arcade, he joins his inventor on the racetrack for the first time on a console game ! -Bashmaster (Roster A) Last racer from a mario affiliated franchise, I wanted to give Tropical Freeze more crumbs. -Takamaru (Roster B) The hero of The Legend of Zelda's long forgotten sister game, that is continuously waiting for a meaningful comeback. And if smash still can't give him that, maybe Mario Kart could. Don't worry too muc for his driving skills though, Link had yet to drive a bike as he joined Mario kart 8, why not a samurai ! -Oatchin (Roaster B) The last and weirdest pick, an answer to Poochy on Roster A, Pikmin 4's rescue dog is here to take part into the race. Can he drive as well as other while having only two paws ? Never understimate Sheperd's training skill ! And here we are, I hope you found those ideas fun !
I really like a lot of these course ideas. I know not everyone likes the crossover idea but I think it would be great for this. With it being the tenth game (counting Tour as 9) could factor into the name and call it Mario Kart X-Roads (crossroads with an X for the 10).
I actually did the same limits of only in-house 1st party (and that even excludes Kirby), but limited myself to a shrunken roster of 25 (plus Mii to make 26), plus every racer has a unique kart like MKDS. 10 are Mario/mario adjacent, and the rest are a mix of big mainline racers (like Link, Isabelle, Excitebiker, etc) and some more niche characters (F-Type from Stunt Race FX, Electroplankton, stuff like that). I’m still working on refining a track list, but I’m working with around 9 cups. We actually shared a couple of ideas for items and tracks and such. I’d love if there was a way to compare notes at some point
I’d rather not have a full crossover situation, but a couple characters and a track or two is fine. I do think Fox with an Arwing vehicle and themed track could be very fun.
Glad to see a mention for MK Tour, I'm a fan of the score system, it gives the series an arcade feeling you don't get in any other entry especially when competing against real people for awards, this last part seems impossible to implement in MK9 to the same level as MKT, but I bet there is a way to implement it that is fun to play with. Also, the alternative versions should be added to the main game, if there's one thing the score system made me notice about MK is how boring some tracks can be during some parts of the level, with no jumps, no bumps, no hazards, no items, nothing to increase your score, and some of the alts help to solve this situation.
reverse i think should definitely be a feature, but i think trick versions should probably not be brought back unless it would actually fit the gameplay since i feel they're too tied to tour's scoring system and gameplay
Ok here’s what we gotta do. Add some more cross over characters specifically ones that have raced in the past like Kirby, in Kirby air ride, or captain falcon. Add more obscure yet unique Mario characters plz, go retro and new style for courses. Honestly just more of a lot they’ve been doing. The new game is gonna be different and cool looking so that’s all I could ever ask for…. Oh so basically a Mario kart ultimate but with Mario characters and some cross over characters that MAKE SENSE.
if Nintendo Kart happens, we need the Xenoblade reps properly represented. We need Shulk driving Juju's Buggy, Rex riding Azurda, and Noah (with Mio as an alt) driving The Bravery (with wheels)
Just needs Vangarre showing his soldiers how to drive the mobile artillery _without_ crashing it into a house... In all seriousness, Xenoblade has so many locations that would be perfect for race courses. Mechonis Field springs immediately to mind for a track with a darker, weirder take on Tick Tock Clock's theming, as does Mor Ardain - half of it a street circuit running through Alba Cavanich, the other half heading off-road through its desertified surrounds... Tantal, too, would make for a fantastic track layout with its epic, spiralling ruins and icy slides. As for Aionios, the City is a standout (if spoilery) option but I'd also love to see Maktha Wildwood - don't think we've seen a 'ruined city' track in Mario Kart before - and I imagine that you could do some wild things with glider sections in the Keves Castle Region.
I’d love to see the lost city of Morytha (an abandoned city sounds like it could have some really cool potential) but it’s a little dark for the usual. Eh, something for the modders I guess
Same, don't ruin Mario Kart, a Nintendo version of "Sonic Racing All Stars Transformed" would be so cool!
I just love how Bowser's car is near universally called the pimp mobile
People say this until it actually happens
On the topic of tracks, I think Piranha Plant Pipeline should absolutely be a Tour retro track since it's the only new track from Tour that wasn't part of the Booster Course Pass.
I feel like it'll be presented as a nitro track because Tour's non-city nitros were presented in the Booster Course Pass as 8 Deluxe nitros.
@@SamRegan610 By that logic, the city courses could've been labeled as original to both games too, but they're not. What's their excuse?
I'm leaning heavy on team KEEP THE MARIO IN MARIO KART here. Yes seeing Fox behind the wheel would be cool, but the Mario universe is so vast, it doesn't NEED other Nintendo characters to make a good roster
Yeah well I wish Captain Falcon could’ve been a character in DLC booster course pack
We need Mario Kart to STAY THE WAY IT IS!
Yeah but I think saving the crossover characters for the DLC would be a great way to sell it
As cool as that is, I'd rather see King Bob-Omb over Fox
I think mario kart should draw more from spin offs like paper mario, warioware, wario land, dkc, etc instead of adding pokémon, kirby, etc
Escape from Zebes NEEDS to have a shortcut where you save the animals
I need this to exist now
Rainbow Road Concept, you start in a Street Road in a City, then each player goes in a rocket ship and boosts all the way up to space till they land and they do some turns around planets, then 2nd lap, they go inside Jupiter, and there’s rocks inside to watch out for, then the final lap they land in a forgotten planet and do some tricks and turns there then leave and make a fall from space to earth with a gorgeous final lap music playing as players fall then take 1 final turn and you completed the race
A Xenoblade related DLC would go so hard with how many visually stunning areas you could design tracks around.
Not to mention how many of the tracks are absolute bangers.
Any roster that removes Poochy isn't worth it :/
I agree with this. Let Smash Bros be the only flagship "crossover" franchise
I think it could be interesting if they don’t include the same roster as Smash and they keep Mario Kart “cartoonish”, no Bayo, no Samis, No Cap. Falcon
I’m personally not a fan of the “Smash Kart” idea, but cool to see an idea for both sides of the same coin.
yeah, like maybe have a few non Mario or DK characters in the roster, like maybe 6 max like they did in MK8 with the Inklings, the villagers, Isabelle and Link, this way the roster is still mainly focused on Mario
so for example instead of having Splatoon, Animal Crossing and Zelda, they can pick 3 different ones this time such as Pikmin, Kirby and Xenoblade (so characters from these 3 they could use would be Olimar, Louie, Kirby, King Dedede, Shulk and Rex)
I saw this cool fanart of Pyra on a motorcycle with her aegis blade holding front wheels axel, only crossover character I need.
Yeah how about Wario from Warioware with the biker outfit
get the rhythm heaven barista in there too because why not (rhythm heaven is loosely tied to warioware)
I need a Fire Emblem character in a kart racer, playing as Chrom in Mario Kart sounds hilarious
With a horse as a kart 😂
Garreg Mach Monastery as a non-looping course starting at the market square while the cathedral gates open as the countdown starts (also the clock tower Fire Emblem theme jingle plays briefly just before the race preview ends.)
Finish it up with Emporer Edelgard as a racer. Don't worry she sports her Emporer class armor when riding bikes like the all-new Wyvern Wing.
Nah that just sounds stupid, I’d rather the Camelot Human OCs over the generic blue haired anime swordsmen.
@@brandonwilliams6119 Weakling.
While the concept of a “Nintendo Kart” is intriguing, Mario Kart should remain true to its roots. Smash Bros. is the only franchise I’m interested to see another installment of.
This might be the best video that you've made. So much thought went into it
If we're getting Nintendo Kart, then its only fair to use it to revive the Double Dash concept with Mario Kart continuing to be its own thing.
There is no nintendo kart.
Yeah Sega has its own Sonic racing game
@@vanessasandoval96 I'm wearied okay.
A Mario Wonder styled MK would be awesome. Constantly changing laps that send you in different directions and affect the track for every player. I reckon this is what Nintendo was trying to trial with the BCP’s changing lap tracks

Boost Power (creates a phantasmic track above the existing one like in F-Zero 99 that grants a temporary speed buff, but only appears between 9th Place and 12th Place)
Superspicy Curry (works like a Fire Flower on autopilot)
Brr-Chucks (can freeze opponents solid)
Power Pellet (works like a Super Star, except foes hit suffer effects similar to the dreaded Blue Shell)
if nintendo ever made a nintendo kart, theyd HAVE to have sonic as a secret third party character, its such a low hanging fruit, especially for a crossover racing game
Also Pac Man would make sense since Namco develops Mario Kart and he’s already been in the arcade games
The thing Dimentio wasnt highlighted in the Paper Mario spot 🥸☝🏻
Obviously it's not on your list of rosters at the end of the video, but I'd like to suggest the idea of a Fire Emblem fighting game (perhaps to take the Zelda FG spot after your patreon members choose it) as I think a roster of the franchise's characters without the stigmatized impression they have from Smash could really show people what the franchise as a whole is all about, at least as far as variety in fighting styles, especially if it were to mix unique lord characters with regular class characters that could represnt numerous less important characters from throughout the franchise.
I would love a Fire Emblem version of Soul Calibur, although I could see Nintendo/IS going the route of a 2D fighter instead of 3D.
People who say mario kart is out of idea are not true mario fans.
With Mario Kart, im fine with maybe a few crossovers like they did in MK8 with Animal Crossing, Zelda and Splatoon (F-Zero got 2 tracks and Excitebike had the one), but it should mainly stick to the Mario cast with a few DK characters.
also this is just personal: no more unnecessary baby or metal characters, im fine with there being 4 babies in the roster, but metal mario, tanooki mario, cat peach and pink gold peach should be retconned to being alternate skins for Mario and Peach
as for new characters, i do think these guys would be nice to see: King Bob-Omb, Chargin' Chuck, Prince Florian, Cappy, Monty Mole, Blooper (and hopefully a removal of the blooper item, it is useless), Poochy, Nabbit, Ninji, Hammer Bro, Spike, Boom Boom, Pom Pom
These would be incredible, really well thought out man! Love the Zebes escape
Same here. Especially if they stick to keeping crossovers to a minimum, and it would still be a way to bring in Captain Falcon

-Give characters either a unique super ability or a bunch of gimmicky quirks (Captain Falcon could basically be the exact same as his original series, energy bar and all.)
The end result? The Super Smash bros. of kart racing! Balancing might be complicated, but it would also be really fun.
Nobody want no smash bros kart game cause nobody wants to deal whit toxic fans.

I think that the next game needs to go in an entirely different direction to stand out from the massive amount of content that MK8D has
That direction being… hear me out… an open world similar to those seen in the Forza Horizon and Need for Speed franchises! A large map with many setpieces based on various established Mario universe themes (grasslands, deserts, tundras, a jungle, a city, a volcano). Throughout the map would be Toads/other NPCs that when talked to will set up a race course or battle course or maybe even some DS style missions within the open world for the player to complete (with an option to select these things from the main menu for multiplayer of course)
DLC could be handled similar to Forza too, have a costal town area with a ferry that takes the player to some smaller islands, maybe themed after other Nintendo franchises (Hyrule, Animal Crossing, Inkopolis, Wuhu Island?)
As a patron, I’ll totally be voting for the Zelda Fighting Game!
I think leaning into the crossover aspect would draw people in
Zelda Fighting Game!? Oooo! I would love that!
No
Escape From Zebes would either be amazing or incredibly anxiety-inducing. I'm all for it 😆
Excellent work, and I would like to see Xenoblade Warriors or Smash 6 stages. I also have a couple ideas for DLC
Pegasus Cup- adds Anna from Fire Emblem and courses are based around Judrgal, Elibe, Daiein and a mix of Ylisse, Hoshido/Nohr and Fodlan.

The Metal Box is an item because I will NOT have Metal Mario or Pink Gold Peach wasting space on the roster!
Tysm for recognising that Kirby is a second party character, so many people dont aknowledge that :p
This video is giving splatoon squid research lab 2015 vibes and I am here for it
Sonic goes in the crossover, he runs on foot, on the glide Tails swoops down and is your glider, in the underwater section he either goes in a bubble or drowns jaja
I was genuinely worried you were about to add tons of F-Zero tracks and not even mention Captain Falcon
FINALLY, Paper Mario. god, that's overdue by now, right?
I like the idea of a Mario Kart crossover!
This would be great as a one-off thing, though honestly it would get tired of done more.
I genuinely gasped when Meta Knight was revealed 😆 Love the script and editing
I have some ideas for potential Sonic content:
-Characters: Sonic (M), Tails (M), Dr. Eggman (L)
Emerald Cup Idea 1: Just because it's only Sonic characters running the race, doesn't mean Sonic's fellow all-stars aren't given service.
-Seaside Hill (The seeming default when it comes to Sonic and racing games, racers speed through a beautiful beach environment as well as portions of Ocean Palace, avoiding Egg Pawns and rolling wheels along the way)
-Samba Carnival (Race through the festive streets of a Latin-American town while Amigo and his crew celebrate from the sidelines)
-Tokyo-to (Understand the concept of love as you drive through a 90s-esque urban landscape. Try not to run into Beat and Gum as they skate by)
-Dream Valley (Fly around the beautiful Spring Valley level, featuring plenty of glider segments to harken to the game of origin. If you look carefully, you can spot NiGHTS themselves flying alongside you)
Emerald Cup Idea 2: Just plain old Sonic based tracks
-Seaside Hill
-Chemical Plant (the second most brought back level in the series, the pink Mega Mack lends itself to decent stretches of underwater driving)
-Casino Park (another grab from Heroes, this sectioned course takes you along glamorous streets and even a giant pinball table)
-Egg Speedway (an original course designed by Eggman to put racers through the paces, Egg Pawns, crushing pistons, and maybe a Death Egg Robot serve to impede you as you race through this industrial shell of evil)
This was a fun video! I really enjoyed the presentation of it all.
Few content creators do videogame roster videos as fun and cool as yours!! Always a pleasure to watch them!!
So long as ganondorf is there, I would be the happiest person alive I love him so much
Just seeing Nabbit and Poochy in the Mario roster makes me happy. Was very upset that they were left out of 8 Deluxe.
for Mario Golf I would love to see courses based on various Nintendo properties to spice things up, dont necessarily need crossover characters. A Hyrule themed golf course. A golf course where each hole is based on a different pokemon region.
Great video! I love these ideas! It's clear that you put a lot of thought into this, and it shows!
I took your roster and cup thought challenge, and here's what I got! Sorry, I took your cup names, and there are some similarities between our ideas, but I made sure that there are plenty of differences as well.

as a hyper obsessed splatoon fan, I just wanna give my ideas in different names for the "Splat cup" because I feel like theres more there than just using the series branding.
- One of the in-game brands. I think a few stand out like Tentatek, Enperry or Firefin
- The Kraken Cup, referencing one of splatoon's most iconic special weapons (much like how the mario cups use iconic items)
- The Turf Cup, probably using the logo for Squidforce as they're the in-universe sponsor for Turf Wars and other ink sports.
Though they kinda already did that in MK8D's battle course by putting inkopolis tower RIGHT by Urchin Underpass in a physically impossible space lol.
oh the alterna track is SICK though I love that
I’m definitely on the Nintendo Kart crossover team
This sounds like an idea that could just straight up be two games, similar to what Pokemon does.
I think it’s good for Mario kart to keep a heavy focus on the Mario universe, but I really want to see more characters and tracks from other IP’s. I’ve really wanted to see Kirby, Samus and Octolings in Mario kart for quite some time
Was getting scared you weren't gonna add captain falcon for a sec 😅
How the hell is Chain Chomp supposed to drive a kart, this is like Goombas playing baseball all over again
Geno, Vivian, Kirby, Samus and Fox are probably newcomers.
I’m not a big fan of the idea of a Nintendo Kart, but I absolutely loved your idea for the Zebes stage!
I feel like some of the characters can be reclassed as alts/costumes rather than being their own slot (like how Gold Mario is an alt for Metal Mario in 8 DX)
Namely Mario/Doctor Mario
Luigi/Gooigi
Inkling/Octoling
One idea that could be taken from Smash. Have the Koopalings return from MK8 but have them be alts for Bowser Jr.
Both of these ideas sound awesome! While I normally don't play the Mario kart games, I would consider it if any of these ideas came to fruition, especially the crossover idea!
Also, how could you forget about Donkey Kong Junior?
Would be cool if each character gets a Special Item like in Double Dash
Bro deserves to have more subs honestly. Such high quality content!
I would LOVE if they made tracks based on themes from other games like the Wonderfield you have or an area from odyssey but i dont expect it will happen
I think this format would be nice if combined. 5 tracks per cup, 4 nitro cups of each. Plus, I think 8 cups of retros would be amazing.
Great as always ! Although I would rather have Mario Kart stay Mario themed, I can't say I don't like the roster choices of your second roster. I don't have much Ideas your video doesn't propose, so instead, I am going to share a few DLC racers and courses this video has inspired me. With a few conditions though:
-Like Mario kart 8 original DLC, this will only be 2 waves containg 6 new racers and 2 cups for 8 new racetracks*
*Roster A could have the retro cups come back, while Roster B must B half Mario, Half Nintendo
-the new mario racetracks must be the same for both DLC concepts
-Both Rosters racers must be split equally split between each body type: light, medium & large
-Roster B Nintendo picks are still restricted to their core teams or franchsie that are close enough (& Kirby)
-Finally, Roster's B DLC racers must have 2 Mario characters, and I went even further by limiting myself to 1 from Roster A base roster and one that is common to both.
You are all following ? Now let's go !
For the ideas, I will first talk about the racetracks (in no particular order), then the racers for each wave.
Wave 1:
Cup A (Shell Cup ? Egg Cup ?)
- Wooly World: based on Yoshi's aventure on the Wii U, everything in the racetrack looks like wool, perfectly cozy to start the DLC.
Cup B WarpStarcup:
- Natural Plain City: based of Kirby's 1st outing in 3D, you drive in the street of the long forgotten city invaded by nature. You can see a member of the beast pack watching the race and Elfilin replaced Lakitu for swinging the checkered flag.
- SNES Remix: another course including a mash up of hommages to retro nintendo games, here based on Super Nintendo games: 16 bit Hyrule from A Link To The Past, gourmet race from Kirby SuperStar, a F-Zero racetrack, a flight section through polygonal corneria, and my personnal choice: a race track from Stunt Race FX: a SNES racing game with cartoony living cars & vehicles
- Tarrey Town Tour: starting in the Racetrack way below the town, it's a tour through this part of the Akkala Region.
- Burenia: based on the water level from Metroid Dread
New Racers wave 1:
- Hammer Bros. & Cie (Roster A) A Mario Kart Tour Veteran finally making the jump to the main roster. Alongside Boomerang, Fire & Ice Bros. as skins
- Wooly Yoshi (Roster A) To go alongside the Wooly World Racetrack, with a lot of the different patterns from the game as Skins
- Grape (Roster A) To go alongside the Western Stage, looks like her first defeat motivated her to get back at Peach.
- (Bandana) Waddle Dee (Roster B) To alongside the Natural Plain City, always late to the party he is, poor guy
- FX StuntCar 2024 (Roster B) The most unique newcomer yet that comes alongside the SNES Remix track. It could go either way: 1° have a car drive a car, 2° Have the Car's body based on the one you equip before entering a race and and add cartoony flashlight eyes
- Dry Bowser (Roster B): To go along Koopa crypt, it seems he find a way into Roster B
Wave 2:
Cup A: Lightning cup ? Bell cup ?
- Beanbean Kingdom: a racetrack based on several locals from Mario & Luigi's Superstar Saga
Cup B: Castle Cup
-Murasame's Castle: the cup's name sake, a tour through feudal japanese setting of the NES game "Mysterious Murasame Castle", but in HD
- Hero's Hideaway: based on the Pikmin 4 level, it's racetrack inside a house where you are as tiny as Olimar himself
- A new wuhu island racetrack, since we already got a few references to it in Mario Kart 7
- Underworld racetrack: based on the underworld of Kid Icarus
New Racers wave 2:
-Fawful (Roster A & B) the sole DLC racer to both pack, i didn't want him to be that necessarily but because of the restriction, he kind of fitted into the role, now, the question is: Is going past his death in Bowser's Inside Story worth it ?
I hope in the next Mario Kart we get Doc Louis/Little Mac. Weird I know but I think it would be funny to have a normal guy on a normal bike lol.
Sonic and Pacman better be in the next Mario Kart. Crash would be cool but highly unlikely
I'd say a full Nintendo Kart would work, but ideally only as a one-off.
I was Nintendo owned Banjo and Kazooie. It'd be so fun to see them race against Mario.
Pikmin should be an option for wheels. Instead of using actual wheels, they just carry you around at top speed
23:41 Peter Griffin jumpscare
Am I the only one that has thought of Gooper Blooper? I feel like he would go well alongside King Boo, Petey Piranha, and King Bob-omb.
if Nintendo Kart happens, we need the Xenoblade reps properly represented. We need Shulk driving Juju's Buggy, Rex riding Azurda, and Noah (with Mio as an alt) driving The Bravery (with wheels)
OK, you know how there are Karts based on characters like Yoshi and Wiggler? I think it would be really funny if there was a Poppi Kart.
Rex should ride one of those motorcycle sovereigns from the world tree
I just want playable Riki
