Just a quick note for ppl with all black cars. when I was in the Navy stationed in Sasebo Japan the locals were all painting the wheel wells with HD deep dark paint. then put the wheels back on and trust me, amazing results. it looks so much cleaner and just better overall. just by painting your wheel wells deep black makes it ALL LOOK MUCH BETTER TAKE MY WORD FOR IT. some even use bedliner in the wells and paint that black for added protection. just my $.02

This and the Callenger have been my top 2 prospects and I think you just talked me into this one. If you said anything negative about the paddle shifters, I probably would have walked away from this car. I prefer a stick but also prefer 4 doors. Great video!!

I also have a 2014 Black Charger.....I love the car also. I sort of wished I would have waited until the 2015 came out. But the car has been great. The best car I have every owned. It is even better than my 07 BMW 335i. Love what you did to your car. It really looks great.

I have two RTs AWD, a 2013 and a 2014. I also have a 2013 Camaro 2SS. I run Pirelli Tires on them all. They last 5 years with moderate to insane, aggressive driving. For R/Ts Pirelli P235/55R19 105v Scorpion Verde All Season. I am well pleased with the quality, performance, durability, appearance, tread design and cost of these tires. In my opinion, one could not expect any more, than what these tires deliver to the driver. Just my two cents, for what it's worth. Note: If purchasing used tires on Ebay, AWD Vehicle, all 4 tires must match tread depth within 2/32 or damage to the transfer case can occur. ( For example: I just mounted 4 tires on my 2013 R/T. All purchased from Ebay, different sellers - (2 New 10/32 tread depth) on front and (2 Used 8-9/32 tread depth) on the rear. Fronts tend to wear quicker due to turning. I saved $368 buying tires this way, over purchasing (4 New Tires) The 4 tires removed had 1/32 tread left and were all evenly worn. Unreal tire quality and durability, for what I put them through. I maybe rotated them twice, within the 5 years - approx. 32,000 to 74,000 miles. Hope everyone finds this example useful.

12000 for an R/T like this? Was it a salvage title? If it had a clean title and no problems then yes that's a great deal but for it to be priced that low something is off.
All you need is to use the 90 degree plastic elbow that came on the oem hose you pulled off to put the catch hose. You use a barb fitting so you can connect the elbow to the bt hose and then you can run the engine cover.
I have a '14 Charger R/T with 30K miles on it. If you're not going to change the tires right away, make sure you pay attention to the tread when you do your rotations. I ended up replacing two of the tires because one was worn out and the other had tread separation. I'm definitely not a fan of Firestone tires. Other than that, not much to complain about really.
clangston3 I ended up replacing the tires a few days after this video was shot and it made a massive difference in the cars handling and overall driveability.
Can't agree with you more on the tires. I just replaced my 13 R/T Max's Firehawks after only 18K miles. Every time I'd hid a small puddle of water the car would hydroplane. Worst OEM tires ever. Outside of that car is great. Also, you should add the door sill "Charger" plates.
eBay has mopar stickers for the back light reflectors that make a world of difference in the appearance if you're going for the blackout look, I did it to mine and I couldn't be happier and they don't come off from normal washing
How bad is the 5 speed auto? I know the 8 speed gets you better mileage but is the shifting good on the 5 speed? Asking because used Chargers for the models up to 2014 are really cheap now.

I went with p zeros in the stock size -- I have the same wheels -- for a bit under $1,000 and am very happy with them, for whatever that's worth. but I don't know yet if they'll wear any better than the oem firehawks, which barely lasted 17,000 miles! probably not.

Haha good video man! I got my R/T last November so i'm about to have it for a year as well. All the things you said I agreed to lol And I wanted a black charger as well but luckily the guy at the dealership was convincing to convince me out of getting a black one, I ended up getting a billet silver one. The only thing I don't like about mine is that it didn't come with a backup cam. Big car butt problems when trying to park haha. Would of been a extra 1k for one. And I hate my Beats speakers, already my front passenger side door and dash speaker sound like their going to blow whenever a bass note hits. Too busy to take it to the dealership and get it replaced. I'm from California so I don't really see that many R/T's or SRT's driving around only base models and SXT's and I only seen ONE Hellcat.

Robby Blake Haha yeah I'm aware of that, whoops. When I first got the car I didn't really drive it hard or anything so I was unaware of the limits because I had just switched over to the car world from having a truck. That was my bad lol, just an initial impression that was totally wrong.

livewireblanco The dealership I bought my car from has a "warranty forever" on the power-train so I really don't want to risk loosing that from having the tuner on my car. I've read a bunch of good things about them but also a bunch of bad. I've almost pulled the trigger on one several times but always back out of it. A buddy of mine recently bought one for his 2010 5.7L charger and the can tunes that came on it were not much of a power increase so I didn't really find the cost/loss of warranty worth it. I guess the only way to really get some good power increase from one would be getting a custom tune and I'd rather not push my car that hard and risk anything going wrong.

Mini4Cooper appreciate the comment man! I would say that the five speed is the only real draw back to this car. It's not as bad as people think it is but it could be better. I don't really mind it and if I'm driving the car hard I'll use the paddle shifters and they are great! MPG in the city is around 16 while highway driving is upper 20's. If I set the cruise control at 51mph I can get 33mpg. It all depends how you drive it but it's really not too bad!
Did you ever have control arm problems how long the original front suspension armd Last you? For me the original get so soft and feels uncomfortable the car sway around and stuff
Wow I bought the charger with all the stuff you love and the stuff I hate I'm replacing the black wheels with chrome ones and replace the black grille with a forgiato chrome one
HIMI2003 Hemi engines produce a lot of "oil blow by" so instead of it going into your intake manifold it gets caught in the can. Pretty much it makes your car run cleaner and doesn't "degrade" your octane. For example if you had 93 octane gas full of nasty oil residue stuff it wouldn't burn as well as clean gas without the gunk in it. There's a lot of explanations on the internet but long story short it's just good to have for the longevity of the car and it will run maybe a little better.
HID's .... I have an issue with my HID lights on my 2013 RT 😔 how much do they run for or good recommendation as to where to get them? My brother says they get pretty pricey?

Hey charger looks great! I myself have got a 13' charger rt blacktop in the red 3 coat pearl which I love the look of. I got flowmaster catback and qtp electric exhaust cutouts (sound loud)! Lol question for ya, how did you get the dodge badge off the grille to change it, mine feels stuck on and how did you get the badges of the trunk to change them? I would love the same rt badges as you and maybe the old school charger script badge. Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thanks
dannny2511 The badge on the grille is just held by some little clips, I got a small screw driver and just pried it off while being careful not to scratch anything. It just takes a little force but it will come right off. The trunk badges I plastidipped red with 4 coats of red and 2 coats of glossifier. Appreciate the comment man, let me know if you need any more help!

Eduardo Martinez In the City I get about 16, Highway is upper 20's depending on speed. My tint on every window is the legal limit here in Texas, I believe it's either 20% or 25%.

Well the back windows can be as dark as you want them but the fronts legal limit is 25%. I have 25% all around so most people just refer to the entire package as the "legal limit" package.
+Elvis Schoeffer I'd love to review one! I don't see where the SHO is faster than the SRT8 though, the claimed 0-60 on them is 5.1 seconds. AWD and turbos can make for really good launches but I don't think any stock SHO's can beat an SRT8. The claimed 0-60 is right on par with the R/T's.
+RP Productions Thanks. I saw a couple of drag races videos on youtube where the Taurus smoked the SRT8, they were probably modified I guess. I wanted to buy a Dodge Charger RT and one of the reasons was your video on it. But a friend of mine who own a Taurus SHO told me to reconsider because the SHO is faster, cheaper to insure and easy to live with. Whenever you have chance to make a video review of the SHO that would ne great otherwise i'd like your opinion on if you were to choose which one would you pick? Thanks
Personally I think the Taurus just looks like any regular car and it has no excitement to it. The only thing that's really impressive is when doing proper hard launches with them. I picked the Charger because it's extremely practical with all of the space, has plenty of power to have fun with, and I really like the way they look. I suppose it's personal preference. Also the Chargers are cheaper to purchase and I thoroughly enjoy daily driving mine.
felix deleon My current tires and be found in one of my more recent videos, they are Continental Extreme Contact DW. 245/45/20 on all 4's. The wheels are just the standard Dodge Charger Blacktop wheels that come on them from the factory. They are 20x8.
It's to bad they didn't put the 8 speed in the good looking Chargers of 2011-2014s with the Hemi. The 2015s and newer, the front of them look not near as good.
Not terrible but not great either. I never had an issue with mine but in the year 2014 it was for sure in need of an upgrade compared to everything else on the market.

If it was up to me I'd try to find an older SRT for a good price but if that's out of your budget then I'd get a low mile/well taken care of R/T. Personally I wouldn't get the v6 because you'll want more.
***** I've had my 2014 SXT for a month now. While I would love for it to be faster, it's got enough "Get Up and Go" when I want it.... Then there was this surprise that I got after a 200 mile round trip with the Cruise set to 76mph with some stop and go construction traffic.. My computer read out 34mpg & my face lit up. The v6 made sense for me because I put on about 20k per year. Maybe in a few more years the 2015 Hellcats will have come down far enough.
Try out chemical guys detail products. They have a torq 10fx dual action polisher for 200 bucks that would polish that charger up nicely and take out a majority of the swirls, I'm a professional detailer and honestly its a great tool for novices, and what id suggest for a good protection and shine is to get their Blacklight glaze , Jet seal, and Black wax. Check out their website Chemical Guys plus they have plenty of tutorial videos on UA-cam.
Honestly I have never even heard of them I actually just read up on them, and they seem like a pretty good company that puts out a good product, In my opinion I think all company's here in the usa make great protection, yeah some are better some aren't but it all comes down to this, what really turns you on, for me I just happen to love chemical guys a lot since they make awesome products, plus their products are eye catching when you have them all nice and organized, Another brand I trust is Carpro USA.
+sweg yolo blaze it The v8 will be fine for a first car if you're responsible and know how to handle the car. Take your time and get a good feel for the car before you start pushing any boundaries.
+Zelly Shaw I would! Before I owned my Charger I drove a truck and didn't have much seat time in a car. The Charger is a mix between good power and size. To me I believe it's better to start off in something larger (such as the charger) as it will make you a better driver and more aware of everything going on. It truly has been a great car and I thoroughly enjoy it.

Nice call with the grill and wheels. As far as intake , I’d trust Dodge performance-engineering first on a car like that. You didn’t harm anything by installing it , but you most likely wasted your money and did yourself no favors

Kevin Wise Jr Nope, it will just void your intakes warranty so basically if something on the intake breaks and it's aftermarket then Dodge will not cover it-which is basically a given.
+nick haku Starting msrp for the 2015's is 33k. The 2014's were a little bit cheaper than that. Top speed stock is governed around 145 I believe, without the governor they're aerodynamically limited to 170.

Hi man , great looking car and you have taste on how to keep it clean and simple , but does the 5 speed automatic is it really dated for the car ? And how is your mpg with you hemi v8
Mini4Cooper appreciate the comment man! I would say that the five speed is the only real draw back to this car. It's not as bad as people think it is but it could be better. I don't really mind it and if I'm driving the car hard I'll use the paddle shifters and they are great! MPG in the city is around 16 while highway driving is upper 20's. If I set the cruise control at 51mph I can get 33mpg. It all depends how you drive it but it's really not too bad!

HIMI2003 Hemi engines produce a lot of "oil blow by" so instead of it going into your intake manifold it gets caught in the can. Pretty much it makes your car run cleaner and doesn't "degrade" your octane. For example if you had 93 octane gas full of nasty oil residue stuff it wouldn't burn as well as clean gas without the gunk in it. There's a lot of explanations on the internet but long story short it's just good to have for the longevity of the car and it will run maybe a little better.
HID's .... I have an issue with my HID lights on my 2013 RT 😔 how much do they run for or good recommendation as to where to get them? My brother says they get pretty pricey?
How is the quality control on this one compared to your 2016 Scat Pack? I know you were having some issues with your Scat Pack and was wondering how this one compared. This is pretty much my goal car in the near future. Hopefully, anyway. Depending on how it works out lol.
This car was a tank! Never had a single issue and I loved it! Not every Scat Pack will have the issues I've been having nor will ever 5.7 be perfect.

Hey charger looks great! I myself have got a 13' charger rt blacktop in the red 3 coat pearl which I love the look of. I got flowmaster catback and qtp electric exhaust cutouts (sound loud)! Lol question for ya, how did you get the dodge badge off the grille to change it, mine feels stuck on and how did you get the badges of the trunk to change them? I would love the same rt badges as you and maybe the old school charger script badge. Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thanks
dannny2511 The badge on the grille is just held by some little clips, I got a small screw driver and just pried it off while being careful not to scratch anything. It just takes a little force but it will come right off. The trunk badges I plastidipped red with 4 coats of red and 2 coats of glossifier. Appreciate the comment man, let me know if you need any more help!
Ok cool thanks. Oh so the trunk badges stayed on and got sprayed, got ya. That grille badge though just feels like it's gonna snap the dam grille when prying it off, kinda scared me lol

+Mark Lampman I went to a local muffler shop and had them do it. Paid around $550 for everything including install and the additional pipe they had to add in place of the existing resonators.

Eduardo Martinez In the City I get about 16, Highway is upper 20's depending on speed. My tint on every window is the legal limit here in Texas, I believe it's either 20% or 25%.
+RP Productions na man legal tint in Texas is 5% that's what igot on mine all around except for the front two igot the 2nd lowest which is 25%? Cause the dude told me ineeded to have a perm. To have 5% all around man.
Well the back windows can be as dark as you want them but the fronts legal limit is 25%. I have 25% all around so most people just refer to the entire package as the "legal limit" package.
Can you review the Ford Taurus SHO? And can someone explain why the SHO is faster than the Charger SRT8, not RT but SRT8. (2008-2014).
+Elvis Schoeffer I'd love to review one! I don't see where the SHO is faster than the SRT8 though, the claimed 0-60 on them is 5.1 seconds. AWD and turbos can make for really good launches but I don't think any stock SHO's can beat an SRT8. The claimed 0-60 is right on par with the R/T's.
+RP Productions Thanks. I saw a couple of drag races videos on youtube where the Taurus smoked the SRT8, they were probably modified I guess. I wanted to buy a Dodge Charger RT and one of the reasons was your video on it. But a friend of mine who own a Taurus SHO told me to reconsider because the SHO is faster, cheaper to insure and easy to live with. Whenever you have chance to make a video review of the SHO that would ne great otherwise i'd like your opinion on if you were to choose which one would you pick?

Personally I think the Taurus just looks like any regular car and it has no excitement to it. The only thing that's really impressive is when doing proper hard launches with them. I picked the Charger because it's extremely practical with all of the space, has plenty of power to have fun with, and I really like the way they look. I suppose it's personal preference. Also the Chargers are cheaper to purchase and I thoroughly enjoy daily driving mine.

felix deleon My current tires and be found in one of my more recent videos, they are Continental Extreme Contact DW. 245/45/20 on all 4's.
The wheels are just the standard Dodge Charger Blacktop wheels that come on them from the factory. They are 20x8.

Not terrible but not great either. I never had an issue with mine but in the year 2014 it was for sure in need of an upgrade compared to everything else on the market.

If it was up to me I'd try to find an older SRT for a good price but if that's out of your budget then I'd get a low mile/well taken care of R/T. Personally I wouldn't get the v6 because you'll want more.
***** I've had my 2014 SXT for a month now. While I would love for it to be faster, it's got enough "Get Up and Go" when I want it.... Then there was this surprise that I got after a 200 mile round trip with the Cruise set to 76mph with some stop and go construction traffic.. My computer read out 34mpg & my face lit up. The v6 made sense for me because I put on about 20k per year. Maybe in a few more years the 2015 Hellcats will have come down far enough.

Try out chemical guys detail products. They have a torq 10fx dual action polisher for 200 bucks that would polish that charger up nicely and take out a majority of the swirls, I'm a professional detailer and honestly its a great tool for novices, and what id suggest for a good protection and shine is to get their Blacklight glaze , Jet seal, and Black wax. Check out their website Chemical Guys plus they have plenty of tutorial videos on UA-cam.

Honestly I have never even heard of them I actually just read up on them, and they seem like a pretty good company that puts out a good product, In my opinion I think all company's here in the usa make great protection, yeah some are better some aren't but it all comes down to this, what really turns you on, for me I just happen to love chemical guys a lot since they make awesome products, plus their products are eye catching when you have them all nice and organized, Another brand I trust is Carpro USA.

+Zelly Shaw I would! Before I owned my Charger I drove a truck and didn't have much seat time in a car. The Charger is a mix between good power and size. To me I believe it's better to start off in something larger (such as the charger) as it will make you a better driver and more aware of everything going on. It truly has been a great car and I thoroughly enjoy it.

+Duc Luu, DMD That was with installation. 2 Mufflers, Exhaust extension in place of the existing resonators, new hangers, and installation for $550 + tax at my local muffler shop.
Nice call with the grill and wheels. As far as intake , I’d trust Dodge performance-engineering first on a car like that.

+Zach Salvaggio Mine came with the dodge center cap already black but the lugs were chrome. I bought black lug nuts at my local discount tire because I like the all black look and I wanted lugs with locks on them, the chrome ones from the factory weren't locking lugs.

+nick haku Starting msrp for the 2015's is 33k. The 2014's were a little bit cheaper than that.
Top speed stock is governed around 145 I believe, without the governor they're aerodynamically limited to 170.
