@@bellatorresbruh7900 well if they have the vented ootion and you select the auto climate option in the charger, whenever you remote start the car, the vented seats will turn on. That way when you get to the car, the leather will be cooled down a bit

I still don't see why people don't see that the charger and challenger are practically the same car. Same engine. Almost same everything. Times are fractions apart form each other. MOST other sedans cant compete. Excluding cars like the Cadillac cts-v which at that point could be considered a luxury car more than a sport. While dodges are on the heavy side they still put up numbers that compete with the camaro and stang until the higher end. Which is to be expected with the gear ratio in the charger/challenger. The 2 extra doors on the charger shouldn't put it out of the sports car group. That's like saying putting a campershell on the bed of a truck makes is an SUV or minivan. Now i'm not a die-hard dodge guy. I prefer the mustang but you cant deny that the numbers on the charger put it in the same class as the stang camaro and challenger. According to 0-60specs.com they are all around 4-5 seconds 0-60 *I am assuming these numbers are on a track*. I'm not saying that the charger isn't a sedan but the numbers put it in the sports/muscle car group.
He nailed it on the steering wheel, the emblem on the 2015 looks so much better to me. I wonder if you could just order that middle part and replace it.
actually for street use the R/T AWD option with a 3500 stall, Paramount Stage 2 Valve body, Transformers Shift kit, CAI, Tune will walk all over a SRT8 for far less money.
dsalaz04 With basic bolts on's and transmissions mods your launches will be much faster than a SRT8, light to light racing you'd kill him. By the time he catches up the race is over.

I always feel that the Charger is closer to a muscle Chrysler 300 than it is the Challenger, even though they're all practically on the same chassis. I keep pining over a Challenger, but for practicality, sake (as well as MSRP) I have a Charger RT AWD in mind for my next car. We'll see. I really don't like auto trans though.

love my 15 charger rt. I live in south texas and it gets freaking hot. I put ceremic tint on my windows and man am I glad I did it. almost no heat comes through. expensive tint but no regrets!

+RP Productions Lol they don't compete. I have a friend with a full bolt on challenger RT and the best he has ran was a 13.3. Nothing to do with driver mod he has an automatic and tires. Stock 5.0s run 12.8 and they can even go 10s NA. Not to mention the new cameros are running low 12s stock. Sorry but these things don't hurt feelings.
Great review man, long time fan of your reviews and your cars. I'm a big GM & Ford guy, sorta looking at the AWD R/T Chargers at the moment. My guess on the SD card under the radio would be also for Nav updates, I know thats how it is on the My Ford Touch systems.
From my personal experience, leather seats in these cars are all for show. They're noisey, they're hard to take care of, they're not really all that comfortable especially when your skin gets sticky and if you don't have tint they get hot. I would actually like to swap out my leather seats in my SRT.
Thanks for the video. I think it's a cool idea to do things you love and hate about your car. I have an '09 Charger R/T so to hear you complain about the steering wheel saying it looks like something that came out of 2007 or 2008 is funny because the previous generation Chargers have the huge truck steering wheels and are even more bland looking, although mine does at least have the bolsters at 10 and 2, so I guess that's a slight plus haha. Anyway I enjoyed the video. Going to watch your other one on 10 things you love. Happy motoring!
My one complaint about chargers is that every time one drives behind me I have to make out if its a cop or not. Especially all black chargers since those are favored by our detectives
I sold my Charger R/T after 1 year for many reasons you just mentioned, such as gas mileage, etc.. You are right, wipes were awful, tires were not safe for the V8 RWD power-train and even the leather seats were not that great. I would add 2 other things to make it a 10. #9 Built Quality, after 7,000 miles I started to hear noises over 65 mph close to the glove box, like something was lose inside the dashboard. #10 The steering wheel feeling, very light even when you are stepping hard it keeps its behavior as if you were parking the car. The positive attributes are the Hemi V8, Interior/Trunk size, and its design.

The door checks on mine are annoying. The front doors never stay open in a good spot and they try to close on you. Also the car has quite a bit of roll after putting the 5 speed in park.
+RP Productions I just traded my 2011 Black Charger R/T MAX in on a 2016 Black R/T Road & Track. So I have a Charger R/T R/T The name sounds redundant. One item I miss most on the 2016, and it is not offered on any optional package, is the heated and cooled cup holders. The spoiled me. To make up for it, this car has vented front leather trimmed seats. You can feel it blow (2 fans per front seat) heated or cooled air up through the seat and seat back. It is great for a hot interior black car. My previous Charger I had some illegal in Florida 15% window tint applied all the way around plus a strip across the front with a cut out so that it would not interfere with the auto dimming headlights camera. I have the same 5.7 L engine but of course this year is the 8 speed and the Road & Track package included a 3.07 rear end, performance suspension, 3 mode electronic stability control and came with huge heave duty breaks. It takes corners great and stops short and straight. The electric steering has three feedback settings. It also has the Super Track Pak that includes Dodge Performance pages on the 8.4" radio, Nav, backup camera screen. It shows all kinds of settings and performance readings like 0 to 60, 1/8 mile 1/4 mile, stopping distance, launch engine speed setup and just some real neat things. What I wasn't told the Chargers don't have is a CD player in their Premium Sound Package. It does have an SD card slot but it is now located in the center console. My first charger came with the Firestone's and I had to laugh at your comments. They were made out of foam rubber. I might have got 15,000 miles on them. I never could get a good balance on them. I put some Michelin Pilot Sport on the car and they did real good, but they cost. This new Charger came with Goodyear 245/45X20. I was not told there was not a spare tire of any type, just a little compressor and some liquid sealant that is not supposed to hurt the tire pressure sensors. The tires are all season which I don't like living here in Florida, I don't need them. I could of had a more aggressive tread. This is not a super fast accelerating car and top speed has a 145 mph limiter where the 2011 had a 130 limiter. The 2016 is over all a very improved version of the 2011 with much nicer more rounded lines on it. The front grill is much more aerodynamic and the fun factor is much higher. It is a good sleeper car against someone who starts hard but not hard enough.
I own a 2014 Charger SXT. Although equipped with a much less powerful 3.6 ltr I still love the overall performance of both engine and suspension. I use the SD slot a lot. I load up albums to choose from and will never re-subscribe to satellite. I really enjoyed your video and will watch your others.

Push start, remote start, a 5.7L v8, nice navigation system, keyless entry, heated seats, HIDs, good looks, spacious interior with soft touch leathers, and a bunch of other minor things here and there make it a pretty good deal to me. Not much in the price range that equates to this. The Charger is full of simple things like a trunk that will open itself when you hit the button instead of just popping up an inch, it's small things like that which make a difference and stand out to me.

The main competitor of the Mustang and Camaro is NOT the Charger, it's the CHALLENGER. Charger is a 4 door sedan. Challenger,Mustang and Camaro are 2 doors coupes. I have the same Firestone FIREHAWK GT tires on my Challenger and at 16,000 miles I still have about 50% tread left, don't know what's wrong with yours?? You should rotate your tires every 5,000 miles for optimum tread life. You can change the shifter to a nice chrome or black "T" handle shifter for like $50.00 on-line.
+Motor City Man Since the Challenger and Charger are such similar platforms I consider them practically the same car other than the amount of doors which is why I used the mustang and camaro for examples to compare. The Firestones never had enough grip for the car once they became broke in a little bit, I've also read others online complain about them. And yeah I've been looking into getting a new shifter but I'm still debating on which one to go with.
i totally agree with you 100% on the tires....complete garbage. Worst tires I've ever had. The wipers are kind of mediocre but i didn't buy the car for the wipers obviously haha. SD card slot is kind of funny, like 10 years late on that idea. Other then that though like you said, I love the car. Its quick and handles alright for what it is annnddd its practical for everyday use unlike the camaro and mustang.

Great Vid Man! That SD slot was right in line with me. I can record mixes right to an SD card off my Denon Prime 4 mixer. I was pleased to have this in my 2014 RT! I can understand if u don't use one on a normal basis.

Cruise on 75mph with my 2012 rt chally....Boise, Idaho to Seattle, Washington on one tank of gas.... I just put 16 Ngk spark plugs in it but still....lol
I have a black 2014 charger but a v6 :( i feel the pain about the paint. v6 gets better gas mileage though. mine came with sports tires and chrome rims. cloth seats do suck. sd card is in the arm rest for me. My shifter is one of those that you find in the new challengers and chargers kinda like a bmw. And i have a 8 speed transmission. Plus i live in spring texas so traffic does hurt like you said.
Your biggest complaint should have been that it ruins the drive of everyone in your vicinity because they think you're a fucking cop. Every day I see someone in a dark hued Charger behind me and think "Oh great, a pig, let me now go 20 mph slower than I otherwise would" only to find out it's some asshole who bought a cop car lookalike. This is my least favorite car for that reason. Also the poor ride quality, terrible styling and antique technology.
TBH, the SD card port is pretty genius. You can load a shit ton of music onto a card and since its flash memory, its instant recall. Also, if i'm not mistaken, this allows you to upload some custom background pictures onto your menu display so you don't have to be looking that the stock GUI. It's not a bad little piece of tech but yeah the placement is kind of odd. would have served better if it was a bit more hidden.

I can't remember exactly, but something about the design of the car doesn't allow a manual transmission. I'm sure Dodge would have it as an option it if were possible.
I have a 2011 Black Dodge Charger Rallye. Correct about the black paint. Anything that brushes against the car causes a scratch. Correct about the shitty looking steering wheel. Correct about the shitty gear shift. Correct about the shitty tires and wipers. Correct about the weird location of an SD card slot. Not to mention this thing is a RWD. Why even make RWD cars....
I have a 2018 Chrysler 300s with the 5.7 hemi in it a modded out with exhaust system and air intake in mine is black but I add some features to it my car is got the white dude stripes down the middle and I add the highlight with the yellow pinstripe yellow brick calipers yellow rollers yellow real diffuser with a bill front splitter it's a beautiful car which could see it you saw it you love it
+Samuel Anderson A charger with 3.06 gears and a camaro/mustang with their basic gears is anyone's guess who will win. I've been up against all kinds of stangs and camaros and my car is basically stock (intake + exhaust) and it really all depends on what speed you're rolling from or who gets the better launch in a dig. Up in the way higher speeds is where the Charger will get passed up but for me doing digs and 20 rolls I'm able to do quite well.

+lmfscrew While the 6.4 is indeed the stronger motor, the 5.7's are the current workhorse for Dodge - Example being used in their trucks, etc - Just like the 5.0 is for Ford in their trucks/mustangs, and have proven themselves quite well. There's a review here on the channel of a bolt on/tuned 3.7 mustang, him and I have raced many times and he keeps up well but it's still not enough to make me sweat.

I own the exact same car. 2014 Charger R/T (from Canada) and I can tell you that I absolutely love the tires my vehicle came with. Michelin Energy brand I believe. My windshield wipers are perfect. I might need to replace them in the winter and use the stock ones again in spring (that's how much I like them) The SD card spot is my FAVORITE. Because I put all my music on SD card instead of bulky USB's that are in the center console (hard to get to not to mention). The SD card is always up to date, I can go in vehicle quickly eject it update the list on my mac and bring it to the vehicle again. The color black.... my favorite. It forces me to clean the car more frequently. I wouldn't ever get any color but black. I also love the cloth seats. I hate leather seats (they dry out, they cut / scratch easily. They are too hot in summer and too cold in winter.. not my taste at all) I liked your other video (10 things I like about my Charger r/t)
charger is mid 5s close to 6 on 0-60 and low 13s to 14s on 1/4 mile. kinda slow. and intakes arent in the 100s for new cars, you're talking like near the $400 mark with shipping and tax of course. oh and for the people bitchin about it being an auto, there was no room in the charger for a manual transmission.
+Alex M The charger is rated at 5.2 0-60 although I've been able to get a 4.73 (Video on the channel). My intake was right about $200 and exhaust can be done for cheap if you go the muffler/reso delete route.
I would say these cars are good on gas 15 in the city with lots of stop and go,and I bet you don't drive/take off smooth slow right...I got 19 city and a hilly area in the Valley driving like I have 100 pounds of crack in the trunk lol...
i was surprised by the SD card also, however as you probably already know, compared to other vehicles with touch screen the dodge charger's touch screen is highly responsive. so if you load all you favorite music on an SD card it is accessible very fast and the way it organizes tracks makes it very accessible, easy to listen to, making it safe to drive without touching the scree

+Matthew Bringhurst that would be extremely awesome and I think with the way they ruined the front end on the 2015 and up models it's possible to fix it by styling it similar to the 69 model. Actually the only thing I like on the 2015/2016 model is the side they took away the aggressive look of the front and rear ends and made them look like the dart AKA dodge neon. I much prefer the styling on my 2013. I also agree this car should have only come with the 8 speed or a choice of stick, but most of us that buy a four door don't want to shift.

+DizzyyNation In terms of every other car on the road, it's fast. In terms of similar vehicles, it can still hold its own quite well. My car is just exhaust, intake, and the 3.06 gears and I hang right with stock SS's and GT's until around the 100ish mark.

I always feel that the Charger is closer to a muscle Chrysler 300 than it is the Challenger, even though they're all practically on the same chassis. I keep pining over a Challenger, but for practicality, sake (as well as MSRP) I have a Charger RT AWD in mind for my next car. We'll see. I really don't like auto trans though.

love my 15 charger rt. I live in south texas and it gets freaking hot. I put ceremic tint on my windows and man am I glad I did it. almost no heat comes through. expensive tint but no regrets!

+RP Productions Lol they don't compete. I have a friend with a full bolt on challenger RT and the best he has ran was a 13.3. Nothing to do with driver mod he has an automatic and tires. Stock 5.0s run 12.8 and they can even go 10s NA. Not to mention the new cameros are running low 12s stock. Sorry but these things don't hurt feelings.

Great review man, long time fan of your reviews and your cars. I'm a big GM & Ford guy, sorta looking at the AWD R/T Chargers at the moment. My guess on the SD card under the radio would be also for Nav updates, I know thats how it is on the My Ford Touch systems.

From my personal experience, leather seats in these cars are all for show. They're noisey, they're hard to take care of, they're not really all that comfortable especially when your skin gets sticky and if you don't have tint they get hot. I would actually like to swap out my leather seats in my SRT.
Thanks for the video. I think it's a cool idea to do things you love and hate about your car. I have an '09 Charger R/T so to hear you complain about the steering wheel saying it looks like something that came out of 2007 or 2008 is funny because the previous generation Chargers have the huge truck steering wheels and are even more bland looking, although mine does at least have the bolsters at 10 and 2, so I guess that's a slight plus haha. Anyway I enjoyed the video. Going to watch your other one on 10 things you love. Happy motoring!

My one complaint about chargers is that every time one drives behind me I have to make out if its a cop or not. Especially all black chargers since those are favored by our detectives
I sold my Charger R/T after 1 year for many reasons you just mentioned, such as gas mileage, etc.. You are right, wipes were awful, tires were not safe for the V8 RWD power-train and even the leather seats were not that great. I would add 2 other things to make it a 10. #9 Built Quality, after 7,000 miles I started to hear noises over 65 mph close to the glove box, like something was lose inside the dashboard. #10 The steering wheel feeling, very light even when you are stepping hard it keeps its behavior as if you were parking the car. The positive attributes are the Hemi V8, Interior/Trunk size, and its design.

The door checks on mine are annoying. The front doors never stay open in a good spot and they try to close on you. Also the car has quite a bit of roll after putting the 5 speed in park.
+RP Productions I just traded my 2011 Black Charger R/T MAX in on a 2016 Black R/T Road & Track. So I have a Charger R/T R/T The name sounds redundant. One item I miss most on the 2016, and it is not offered on any optional package, is the heated and cooled cup holders. The spoiled me. To make up for it, this car has vented front leather trimmed seats. You can feel it blow (2 fans per front seat) heated or cooled air up through the seat and seat back. It is great for a hot interior black car. My previous Charger I had some illegal in Florida 15% window tint applied all the way around plus a strip across the front with a cut out so that it would not interfere with the auto dimming headlights camera. I have the same 5.7 L engine but of course this year is the 8 speed and the Road & Track package included a 3.07 rear end, performance suspension, 3 mode electronic stability control and came with huge heave duty breaks. It takes corners great and stops short and straight. The electric steering has three feedback settings. It also has the Super Track Pak that includes Dodge Performance pages on the 8.4" radio, Nav, backup camera screen. It shows all kinds of settings and performance readings like 0 to 60, 1/8 mile 1/4 mile, stopping distance, launch engine speed setup and just some real neat things. What I wasn't told the Chargers don't have is a CD player in their Premium Sound Package. It does have an SD card slot but it is now located in the center console. My first charger came with the Firestone's and I had to laugh at your comments. They were made out of foam rubber. I might have got 15,000 miles on them. I never could get a good balance on them. I put some Michelin Pilot Sport on the car and they did real good, but they cost. This new Charger came with Goodyear 245/45X20. I was not told there was not a spare tire of any type, just a little compressor and some liquid sealant that is not supposed to hurt the tire pressure sensors. The tires are all season which I don't like living here in Florida, I don't need them. I could of had a more aggressive tread. This is not a super fast accelerating car and top speed has a 145 mph limiter where the 2011 had a 130 limiter. The 2016 is over all a very improved version of the 2011 with much nicer more rounded lines on it. The front grill is much more aerodynamic and the fun factor is much higher. It is a good sleeper car against someone who starts hard but not hard enough.

I own a 2014 Charger SXT. Although equipped with a much less powerful 3.6 ltr I still love the overall performance of both engine and suspension. I use the SD slot a lot. I load up albums to choose from and will never re-subscribe to satellite.

Sounds like you should have waited till 2015. Trade it in for a 15 or 16. The Challenger is a competitor for the Camaro and mustang, not the charger.
The charger is heavier and is in the family sedan class. It's main competition is the Ford Taurus, Chevrolet impala, Honda Accord etc...

Push start, remote start, a 5.7L v8, nice navigation system, keyless entry, heated seats, HIDs, good looks, spacious interior with soft touch leathers, and a bunch of other minor things here and there make it a pretty good deal to me. Not much in the price range that equates to this. The Charger is full of simple things like a trunk that will open itself when you hit the button instead of just popping up an inch, it's small things like that which make a difference and stand out to me.

I have the same Firestone FIREHAWK GT tires on my Challenger and at 16,000 miles I still have about 50% tread left, don't know what's wrong with yours?? You should rotate your tires every 5,000 miles for optimum tread life.
You can change the shifter to a nice chrome or black "T" handle shifter for like $50.00 on-line.
+Motor City Man Since the Challenger and Charger are such similar platforms I consider them practically the same car other than the amount of doors which is why I used the mustang and camaro for examples to compare. The Firestones never had enough grip for the car once they became broke in a little bit, I've also read others online complain about them. And yeah I've been looking into getting a new shifter but I'm still debating on which one to go with.

i totally agree with you 100% on the tires....complete garbage. Worst tires I've ever had. The wipers are kind of mediocre but i didn't buy the car for the wipers obviously haha. SD card slot is kind of funny, like 10 years late on that idea. Other then that though like you said, I love the car. Its quick and handles alright for what it is annnddd its practical for everyday use unlike the camaro and mustang.

Great Vid Man! That SD slot was right in line with me. I can record mixes right to an SD card off my Denon Prime 4 mixer. I was pleased to have this in my 2014 RT! I can understand if u don't use one on a normal basis.

I have a black 2014 charger but a v6 :( i feel the pain about the paint. v6 gets better gas mileage though. mine came with sports tires and chrome rims. cloth seats do suck. sd card is in the arm rest for me. My shifter is one of those that you find in the new challengers and chargers kinda like a bmw. And i have a 8 speed transmission. Plus i live in spring texas so traffic does hurt like you said.
I use a 32GB SD card for my music. Much easier than the Bluetooth.

Your biggest complaint should have been that it ruins the drive of everyone in your vicinity because they think you're a fucking cop. Every day I see someone in a dark hued Charger behind me and think "Oh great, a pig, let me now go 20 mph slower than I otherwise would" only to find out it's some asshole who bought a cop car lookalike. This is my least favorite car for that reason. Also the poor ride quality, terrible styling and antique technology.

TBH, the SD card port is pretty genius. You can load a shit ton of music onto a card and since its flash memory, its instant recall. Also, if i'm not mistaken, this allows you to upload some custom background pictures onto your menu display so you don't have to be looking that the stock GUI. It's not a bad little piece of tech but yeah the placement is kind of odd. would have served better if it was a bit more hidden.

I have a 2011 Black Dodge Charger Rallye. Correct about the black paint. Anything that brushes against the car causes a scratch. Correct about the shitty looking steering wheel. Correct about the shitty gear shift. Correct about the shitty tires and wipers. Correct about the weird location of an SD card slot. Not to mention this thing is a RWD. Why even make RWD cars....
I have a 2018 Chrysler 300s with the 5.7 hemi in it a modded out with exhaust system and air intake in mine is black but I add some features to it my car is got the white dude stripes down the middle and I add the highlight with the yellow pinstripe yellow brick calipers yellow rollers yellow real diffuser with a bill front splitter it's a beautiful car which could see it you saw it you love it

+Samuel Anderson A charger with 3.06 gears and a camaro/mustang with their basic gears is anyone's guess who will win. I've been up against all kinds of stangs and camaros and my car is basically stock (intake + exhaust) and it really all depends on what speed you're rolling from or who gets the better launch in a dig. Up in the way higher speeds is where the Charger will get passed up but for me doing digs and 20 rolls I'm able to do quite well.

+lmfscrew While the 6.4 is indeed the stronger motor, the 5.7's are the current workhorse for Dodge - Example being used in their trucks, etc - Just like the 5.0 is for Ford in their trucks/mustangs, and have proven themselves quite well. There's a review here on the channel of a bolt on/tuned 3.7 mustang, him and I have raced many times and he keeps up well but it's still not enough to make me sweat.

I own the exact same car. 2014 Charger R/T (from Canada) and I can tell you that I absolutely love the tires my vehicle came with. Michelin Energy brand I believe. My windshield wipers are perfect. I might need to replace them in the winter and use the stock ones again in spring (that's how much I like them) The SD card spot is my FAVORITE. Because I put all my music on SD card instead of bulky USB's that are in the center console (hard to get to not to mention). The SD card is always up to date, I can go in vehicle quickly eject it update the list on my mac and bring it to the vehicle again. The color black.... my favorite. It forces me to clean the car more frequently. I wouldn't ever get any color but black. I also love the cloth seats. I hate leather seats (they dry out, they cut / scratch easily. They are too hot in summer and too cold in winter.. not my taste at all)

charger is mid 5s close to 6 on 0-60 and low 13s to 14s on 1/4 mile. kinda slow. and intakes arent in the 100s for new cars, you're talking like near the $400 mark with shipping and tax of course.
oh and for the people bitchin about it being an auto, there was no room in the charger for a manual transmission.

i was surprised by the SD card also, however as you probably already know, compared to other vehicles with touch screen the dodge charger's touch screen is highly responsive. so if you load all you favorite music on an SD card it is accessible very fast and the way it organizes tracks makes it very accessible, easy to listen to, making it safe to drive without touching the scree

+Matthew Bringhurst that would be extremely awesome and I think with the way they ruined the front end on the 2015 and up models it's possible to fix it by styling it similar to the 69 model. Actually the only thing I like on the 2015/2016 model is the side they took away the aggressive look of the front and rear ends and made them look like the dart AKA dodge neon. I much prefer the styling on my 2013. I also agree this car should have only come with the 8 speed or a choice of stick, but most of us that buy a four door don't want to shift.

I live in ILLINOIS and I chose the Charger for my year round driving. The Camaro and mustang are useless in our winter months.

15 isn't bad for a 5.7 in the city. I have a gmc sierra with a 4.8l it get 13 in the city I would love to have 370HP and get 15 MPG.
if you ever do try to use the sd card it is absolutely horrible for organization of music and wont work on certain size cards it is just bad all the way around

+enrique beltran Yeah if I could go back in time I would have bought the redline red but now the B5 Blue is my favorite on the 2015's. Black looks good when it's clean but yeah you do notice every little spec of dirt on it.

+DizzyyNation In terms of every other car on the road, it's fast. In terms of similar vehicles, it can still hold its own quite well. My car is just exhaust, intake, and the 3.06 gears and I hang right with stock SS's and GT's until around the 100ish mark.
