I absolutely love seeing pantera through the eyes of someone who has never heard them before.
Me too, and that is why these videos get views lol
No band ruled the 90’s like Pantera!!
Strength Beyond Strength!!
Black tooth!!!!! Threeeeeeee! 🎸
STRONGER THAN ALLL 💯 %
RIP Dime and Vinnie
SHON!!! I Told You!!! You just made my whole damn day. I legit stopped what I was doing at work to watch this. I’m so glad you finally did this one after I’d been asking for it! And your face when Dime started his solo is exactly how everyone feels when he plays. He was one of the best to ever do it and may he rest in peace. Same with Vinny, his brother on the drums. Both gone way too soon. I’m glad you’re on this metal journey, and once again, welcome to the family.
❤dime and riggs
Dime was a guitar GOD!!!
1.6 million Metalheads!!🤘🤘
Actually more like 2.3m......they stopped keeping count after 1.6M
RIP Dimebag!! Gone WAY too soon……. That man was a beast on the guitar!
yeah recently I have been inspired by Dimebag since I have gotten better with solos and he is such a huge influence to not just me but so many people in music
Truly heartbreaking that he was taken, but I'm grateful for what he was able give to the world while he was here.
People always give props to dime but please dont forget Vinnie ! that dude was a fucking machine on the drums; especially for a guy with a bigger then average size; his double bass-drum sound is one i can recognize out of a thousand drummers ; not to undermine Dime cause he was a monster too ; both Abbot brothers are legends in theyr own right ! RIP to both
The concert happened shortly before the USSR dissolved, that’s why the crowd is so huge. An entire country blowing off some steam after 50 years.
Dimebag was one of the most unique, gifted, and extraordinary guitar players in all of metal history. I wish I could have been witness to just how massive of an impact he would have had if he were still with us today. It was enough to influence so many musicians across a lot of different genres as it stands. When he was a kid, he won so many guitar contests that the event holders just started making him a judge whenever he showed up at one because of how good he was.
TRUTH
RIP Dimebag one of the greatest guitar players of all time 🖤🤘🏻🙏🏻
Agree w every words
@@elex117 I would have loved to see him shred live…..😫
Pantera is good for mind, body, and soul!🤠💯Much love and respect from Texas, my brother!🔥🤘
One of the hardest breakdowns in metal music. Legendary mosh.
and the fact that it's in black and white and has 40mil views; even more legendary
The guitarist is Dimebag Darrell, he was killed on stage while playing by a deranged fan in Dec. 2004 RIP 🙏
RIP god guitarist
I actually knew the murderer. He was always off, he would come to parties and rock out with us and he said he loved Pantera but something happened IDK but you see the result. RIP Dimebag Darrell and Vinny Abbott
I live 35 minutes from the former venue alrosa villa in Columbus Ohio I was supposed to be there on December 8th 2004 and was sick and gave my ticket to a friend who unfortunately witness this horrible event. I miss Dime every damn day, and if I was healthy I may have been one of the dead. I was a bit crazy and would have attacked Nathan Gale, in so many ways I wanted to be there but glad I am alive today due to missing the show.
@@Rocky-N-Angel I miss Dimebag and the Alrosa Villa. Had many good times there until he did that. Was tainted to me.
@@IamGrootOG That was gonna be my first show at the venue and my first time seeing DamagePlan I was looking forward to it. I had a severe upper respiratory infection and could barely breathe. I however did get to see Pantera in the 90's and 2000-2001 11 separate times. I even met the band in the early days at a small venue in Cincinnati in I think was 1991 maybe it was 1992. Nevertheless I understand and wish things would have happened differently.
That guitarist is Darrell Abbott. Knew him forever. Playing in front of over a million people here, so well deserved!!
Back when I took a music appreciation class in community college in 2001, I showed this video on VHS to my class for a final project and broke it down. Dimebag blew everybody away including the professor who was an older classically trained musician. RIP Dime 🖤🥃
That's awesome!
Same concert when you did the reaction to Metallica enter sand man song 1.6 million Moscow peeps
Got to see Pantera back in the day. That would’ve been a hell of a show to be at! There was about a year Pantera cd did not leave my cd player in my car. It was so freaking awesome when it came out and if you had a system this stuff slams much harder than a lot of rap music.
True, some of Vinnie's double bass blasts almost took out my 15's 😂 , and I had I had a strong high end system. It did sound so good when I was cruising, and you could definitely tell if a Pantera fan was close. I miss the 90's.
@@supahfly2106 exactly! 🤟🏼
Dimebag Darrell on guitar. Truly a legend. RIP. I would highly highly recommend “Mouth for War” by Pantera. Lyric video, or official video, I know you always got lyrics up. It’s words I still live by today. Also, a great workout song. 😂
Hell yes " No one can piss on this determination"..... " Ugh" 😂 killer track
This is the moment Pantera became the best and biggest metal act of that era.
Nope.
@@erolbulut2584yup
This was my favorite band growing up. When Dime makes the guitar neigh like a horse is the absolute highlight of this song. And that breakdown is one of the heaviest in metal history, played in front of one of the biggest crowds in metal history. Unbeatable.
Finally a review that gets to the meaning of a song. AAA+
The “official count” was 1.6 million people in attendance
but remember Pantera opened up for Metallica at like 10am so it was more like 700k; still amazing and a ton of people nonetheless
I saw this performance live. I was 17 years old.
From Google
in the Tushino Airfield in Moscow, during the dissolution of the Soviet Union. E.S.T. In September 1991, only a month after the August Putsch failed, 1.6 million rock and metal music fans converged in Moscow at Tushino airfield for the first open-air rock concert, as part of the Monsters of Rock series.
AC/DC, Metallica, The Black Crowes, Pantera, and E.S.T. were the performers. ❤
"1.6 million rock and metal music fans" who had never seen these bands live before because they grew up in the USSR (the government of which was in the process of collapsing & dissolving). The whole story blows my mind every time...
@@BPhillips2000 But today everyone sees these groups on UA-cam, Instagram and this no longer surprises anyone.
Pantera - "I'm Broken"
Being diagnosed with a disease (MS) in 91 Pantera was and remains so therapeutic to me! I was lucky enough to get to meet the brothers, 6 months before Dime was shot on stage. Rip Dime and Vince!!
God, I love Pantera. The guy on the guitar is Dime Bag Darrell.
THAT is what a band looks like when they have something to prove.
Young and hungry.
Check out Zakk Wylde - Black Label Society - "In This River" - Live in Paris. Zakk is Ozzy Osbourne's former guitarist. In This River is a tribute song to Dime bag.
*......and current guitarist of well...what passes for "Pantera".
Over 1 million people were there, they're still making their way home till this day.
"Whoever this guy is" 😮. It good to see someone find Dimebag Darrell's guitar playing for the first time. He is a legend that changed metal forever. RIP Dime
You cannot resist the urge to headbang at the breakdown in the guitar solo. It is impossible!
Seeing the godlike ability Dime had dawn on you made me shed a tear. ❤
Saw Pantera live, 2wice. Best live band I ever saw
You nailed it regarding the talent. Phils vocals are unrelentingly powerful. The entire band is the perfect storm!!!
That was 32 years ago and there is hardly a band out there that was so good and tight live. Absolute monsters. Thanks for doing this video, shows that their music has not aged and transcends generations.
One of the most iconic guitar solos ever caught on camera. Hair on my neck still stands up everytime i watch it. Love the reation 🤘🤘🤘
Dimebag rip Brother... greetings from Skandinavia Danmark 🇩🇰
Seeing you enjoy a band I grew up listening to brought me tears of joy, it felt like I was listening to them for the first time again. Thank you for that ❤
PANTERA was just on another level. A whole new level!!
This old metalhead approves of your channel 🔥
Bro! Dimes breakdown in the middle is legendary!!!
Most intelligent react to this I have seen, props dude!
My brother! Your respect for lyrics and the ability to hear them when most put it down to screaming rather than talent has put you up as one of my top reactors. Fucking legend!
RIP Dimebag Darryl. He had no limits
1 of the top ten largest crowds ever Moscow 91 son . Rip king brother's Abbott hail triple D! ❤
Everybody really miss in the comments understand where his emotions are coming from that's when the music hits you in a whole different level. Country music just makes you smile cuz it's so damn good I felt the same way here in the song for the first time back in the year 1999
Dimebag was a guitar god. Gone too soon, lucky to have seen him (and the classic line up of Dime, Vinny, Rex, and Phil) a few times. Under appreciated but hugely influential. Thanks for checking this out!
You just got a new subscriber. This is the first video i've seen of your channel. You didn't disappoint. Rest in peace, Darrel and Vinnie.
I can't imagine being there, that's the song they opened with!!!!!
Can you imagine playing in front of 2 million people, and knowing you can go out there and kick ass? They went out there JACKED!!! Probably their best performance ever, but that is left to the individual I guess.
Dimebag bro! FUCKING LEGEND!!! And his brother on the drums, Vinnie! RIP to both of my Arlington, TX brothers! Love them always and forever and appreciate every moment I got to sirens with them!
THIS IS THE WAY
Wow! First time ever checking them out with ya! Banger!
Straight testosterone and adrenaline dump! 🔥
1 million people were at that show in Moscow. You need to check out WALK you will definitely like that one. Been to see PANTERA many times in Panera their home of Dallas Texas.
I'm a huge dimebag fan of 30 years... Loved watching this video and seeing your reaction to it... I met Dimebag in 2004 in San Francisco one month before he died.... The 5 minutes alone video is great too that'll blow your mind. Cowboys from hell... far beyond driven and vulgar display of power are probably the three best albums
I like your takes. I play guitar and have screamed in bands you're hitting the nail on the head
I appreciate your ability to break down the song and explain the meaning without biases towards the genre of music. You truly are a fan of music. Respect 🤘😎🤘
Able to see them live in the 90s a few times. My favorite band to this day. Hard as nails
You made me cry my eyes out. Great recognize great. Dimebag was something special 🫶🏻🫶🏻
RIP dime and darrle!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! you will both be missed!!!!!!!
Just moved from Australia 🇦🇺 to the Philippines 🇵🇭. Still watching your reactions mate.
BEST PANTERA SONG....THATS THE MESSAGE
I saw Pantera with White Zombie and the Deftones way back in 96! Awesome show
Every pantera fan shows up
Over 1 million in attendance!!!
RIP Vinnie & Dime...SDMF Love to ALL!
Shon said bonkers! Ok, that's awesome.
I like that you pay attn to the lyrics man! First concert ever at 13 and it was brutal! Loved it!
Pantera - Cowboys From Hell. Their best song imo. A 10/10 banger. RIP Dime and Vinny.
Your desire to hear the words and think it hrough on so many songs is very refreshing and your reactions show a high level awareness. Performances like this dranscend time and musical appreciation and lead to inspiration.
You were talking about the crowds, being in those crowds is like being out in the ocean. You are not in control and are at its mercy. All you can do is be 1 with it. Truly amazing feeling.
Shon, I just randomly came across this (being a Pantera fan) and I gotta say, glad you took this time to listen and review. You should do more of these, I have tons of suggestions. Thanks for the vid! Subbed
The heaviest breakdown known to man and you can see on dimebags face after they finished told it all, he KNEW they crushed it
hey man! a big fan from the Philippines, I love how enthusiastic you are in your reactions. I was hoping I could recommend a song for you to react, it's Heaven by your side - A1, it has been my favorite song and I want to know what you think about it. Much love and thank you!
1.6 million people.
Hell Yeah homie! Pantera is an honest brand that delivers on EVERY SINGLE FUGGIN banger in tha genre! Cheers mang!
Hell yah.. ive always loved the video of this performance. And domination is one of my favorite songs.
Far Beyond Driven. Every song.
PANTERA!!!!!
Great song. Great reaction. From this same show in Moscow, Metallica, Harvester Of Sorrow live is awesome too.
I haven’t told to many people that I was at the Alrosa Villa the night he was killed. It happened so fast that everyone thought it was a prop. Rip to the brothers and to the drum tech that lost his life that night as well
Awesome reaction Mr Shon that’s on of the best songs ever
1.6 MILLION PEOPLE!!
That sir, is Dime.☝️😃👍
Do 5 minutes alone if you haven't already! Read the story of it real quick and do the words like you did this one. It's so good!! I loved your reaction to them. love Pantera!!
Panting, whew. ☮️💜🤘🔥🎸
Spot on about the lyrics having depth and meaning relatable to most. They're not just a band of noisemakers. The riffs and breakdowns are stellar!
Great analysis. Phil is a poet.
Love your mimic Shon haha! Yeah this might be my favorite metal vid out there!
I’m sure there’s folks out there who won’t agree with what I’m about to say & that’s cool 👍as someone who was born in 71 & a music lover to be in my 20’s in the 90’s was 🤤& Pantera was the best metal band of that decade & beyond 🤷🏼♂️🖤🤘🏻
So awesome
This was at the Monsters of Rock show in Moscow with over 1 million people. The Metallica set at this show was iconic! Crazy as it was, there have actually been concerts with a lot more people than this. R.I.P. Dimebag and Vinnie. 😢
Good reaction! If Pantera, then definitely Cemetry gates (long version) at next! Best regards from Germany.
This was in Moscow and there were over a million people in the crowd they had to have the Army as security they had military helicopters gunships flying overhead
1.6 million people
Let's GO!!
When I say "I have been waiting for this", I mean I have been waiting for this!!
Shon Ra in a hardcore mosh pit is a truly beautiful and terrifying thought! 🙃
Great reaction!!!!
Good luck understanding Phil on this live version.I heard there was like a million and a 1/2.People there screaming over them would be pretty damn hard
