Super glad to see this video, I've been thinking of doing this very thing to my '79 St. Regis because the new seats would be probably be cheaper than getting my old seats upholstered. Years ago, I took out the original 60/40 seats and put in bucket seats from an 80's Omni sedan that had factory seats that still used the 70's B-body seat frames right down to the head rest. Once I removed the Omni seat tracks, they were a direct bolt in to the St. Regis. Got a lot of use out of them, but they're pretty much shot as is. This looks to be a good solution.
Put all bolts through holes in floor. Lay carpet back in place. Take exacto knife and cut an "X" over the top of the bolt head. You'll feel it through the carpet.
It took me 6 months and 4 orders to get bucket seats for my Duster. And I STILL had to disassemble the 4th seat and reassemble because it was put together incorrectly. Thanks, Jegs! What a nightmare. First pair of seats, one had the back twisted. 3rd seat the headrest post was welded an inch lower on one side. 4th seat, the bottom springs were put in wrong.
Thanks for showing the process of converting bench to buckets. I'm curious about the seat height now. After you installed the bucket as low the bracket would go, does it sit lower than the original bench now? Or did the worn foam on the old bench sit lower? That's good to know about the steering wheel being a little off center from the seat now. I used to have an 80s Aries K car with buckets and it was the same way.
The seat is the perfect height for me. Maybe the seat isn't off center, it could be the worn out seat had me leaning towards the door. I've very happy so far. Thanks for watching!
I've not done that swap, not sure how the brackets and everything will work out. I'm sure it's been done numerous times throughout the years so I'm positive with a small amount of creativity you'll have them in looking spiffy!
I acquired a set of Procar Sportsman bucket seats that I want to install in my '70 Charger. Procar sells adapters to supposedly fit '67 - '77 Chargers, I'm fairly certain those will require some modifications to make them work. Fortunately my car originally had buckets so I hopefully won't have the same issue you had modifying buckets to fit your original bench seat. The Procar seats are universal, as you've said...but other than the adapters, is there anything else needed? Are seat adjusters sold separately or don't they come with the seats?
@@318willrun Thanks, I knew the ProCar seats were universal and only the correct set of adapters were required to install them in whichever vehicle. I just wonder how much work will be needed for their '66 - '76 Charger adapters, which I'll buy. Not looking forward to a lot of fabrication and Mickey-Mousing, though...
I know this has nothing to do with your video, but would like to see if you would have better MPG with a different carburetor than the Carter bb2 on your van. Love you videos. Thanks
Hey buddy, would you happen to have an extra set of A-pillar interior trim for a '74 Duster you want to sell? I can't find any and mine crumbled to dust!
it's all under procar seat brackets in Summit. Here are the brackets and the seats are just universal - pick your style. as well as the adjusters. www.summitracing.com/parts/sca-81432/make/plymouth/model/duster/year/1974#overview www.summitracing.com/parts/sca-81433/make/plymouth/model/duster/year/1974
I bought it all from Summit. I was impressed with the quality and fitment in the Duster. I even had room for my hat !!!
The white over blue looks pretty sweet!
Looks like you got it going your way Brother. And I've been a little off center for some time now. Lol
Ha! My wife thought it was ok, so maybe I was used to leaning towards the door in the old seat.
I really like the white seats with the white vinyl top. Looks really good!
Thanks! We thought it would match the top and decals!
I liked the look, went to the procar site. Not able to navigate to seats for my car on the mobile site.
Where did you order from?
Summit! Thanks for watching!

Really nice seat! the white really goes good with the car color! Great improvement! Be glad to see it when you get the other! Thanks for sharing!
We think so too!!! Thanks for watching!
Another great improvement, it just keeps getting better and more special. Good for you man.
Thank you
It looks good even if you only have one.
I agree! Thanks for watching!
Lol!! This would happen to me. It’s like getting all your piston’s and stuff and no bolts.
I hear ya, I hear ya !!!
It looks really good in the car!
Thanks!!!
I love the white! Seat are real nice looking. The Dusters with white seats came with black carpet...
Thanks! We loved it right away too!!
I have looked at them several times. I sat in a set at Summit one time as well as the other seats they had and liked these the best.
They are comfortable! Thanks for watching!
Very nice! Too bad about the wait.
Nothing like "Wait reduction"
Great job 318! I dig the white it looks cool!
Thanks, we appreciate it!
Looks great! Weight reduction with additional wait added I guess lol.
Thanks!!!

It can be an issue for sure!
Like it.
Thanks!
I was thinking that the plates were welded under the floot on the outside of thr car.
Could do it that way as well

I will have to do that. I have b body buckets for my a body cuda. Looks like it should work on my car. Thoughts?

Isn't there adjustment in the upper brackets 3/4 or so? Seats look great.
Thanks!

Adjusters are sold separately. other than that, it will be trial and error

Are you covering the back seat in white?
We are considering using vinyl paint on it, but we'll see. I'm kind of liking the blue back seat with the white.
Ha ‘WAIT’ reduction ! Does that count as a malapropism?
10-4 !!!! Thanks for watching!

I would guess a spread bore carb, like a TQ, would have a great chance at gaining MPG.
I have had better luck with my tq than my Carter bb2. I don't know why I have so many problems with the bb2. Just never seem right.
@@jasonkaiser5150 Most of the time they have run good for me over the years, but they don't offer the best performance.
Don't the metal plates need to be tack welded into place to provide proper support ?
That would be better, but it still makes the circumference larger of where the pressure is applied.
Nice! Hey, race cars don't have passenger seats!
Thanks! that's a point!
To bad you’re wife can’t ride with you till November well she can sit the back I guess good video guys
Maybe a 2 gallon bucket for her ?? no...... no, she'll say she's driving and that puts me on the bucket. We'll take the van for now ! 😃
About time.:-)
In case you didn’t know, I’m TrailBeast.
Hey hey !!! Thanks for watching!
When you cut off the threaded rod did it hurt the threads?
not really
God knows What that costed ya. But they look great.
Thanks! Both bucket seats, and all hardware was no more expensive than getting the front seat redone.

Sorry, but I do not. Hope you find some!
Would you mind listing the part numbers from summit? I need seats for my Duster

@@318willrun Awesome. Thank you
Love the show on the dodge truck were you out of i,m on tic tok brothergene
Nice seats! How odd they relocate you over an inch. Wonder why.
It may be just how I felt because the old bench seat leaned me into the door.... Couple other people sat in it and didn't notice...
@@318willrun makes sense. Maybe it was just wear and tear in the old bench that made you lean towards the door
