No one thinks of losing your child in a split-second accident on a vacation but it happened in my family. An unimaginable nightmare to have to go home without your teenage child or sibling forever. Hugs to this family.
I’m deeply sorry for your loss. Sending you a big hug and blessings. 🙏🏻❤️🙏🏻
It all has happened to our families especially after reading and seeing this on UA-cam
@@godhg9694 That is up to the instructors to know not every single other person who has never done it before.
Yeah but no one martyred your dead loved one to take away the choices for others. This martyring is bullshit, it will make those trying to make a living impossible and those who cant take extravagant vacations every year or even every decade even more unlikely to be able to take them because the costs will go up and only the rich will be able to afford it.
Their kid died sad but everyone shouldn't be punished for one freak accident because narcissistic twats want to publicize their need for attention and martyr their dead kid.

@MSMEG IX i seen you on inside edition comment making fun of the dead, your life must be really sad and pathetic.
@MSMEG IX man your parents did a horrible job raising you. Do better.
@MSMEG IX obviously us
He probably even feels partially responsible. I couldn’t imagine enjoying a recreational activity with either of my kids and suddenly having it turn tragic. I have a girl and a boy just like this dad did (except, my daughter is the older of the two).
“She is living life through me now, I have to live it to the fullest now” straight hit my soul 😢
that was sad to hear honestly. poor family
She is dead! She is not living life anymore! WTF?
Weird how he has an American accent yet both parents have a thick Irish/Scottish accent I think? W/e accent it is, how the HELL does their son sound like he's from the US? That's how accents are passed on, your parents...that is fishy to me. Weird.
@@gmanjordan4154 are you 12 that you can't understand what he means?
@@wombat5252 that's fishy to you? Tf is your theory or whatever? 😅
The sad thing is that this isn't really even a tubing accident. The tube itself was fine. It's the boat operator who wasn't paying attention and hit her in the water. What a truly heartbreaking story smh
Seems like the most unattentive, unaware, apathetic, incompetent imbecile ever.
yeah exactly
yea he literally ran her over. that is so sad i can’t even imagine what that dad went through.
this is not the same case as definitely the driver's at fault..but In many instances in our trips, American tourists are arrogant, uncooperative and reckless..I remember we were in a tour, and a family of Americans were trying to rush the driver back as they said they had to leave in an hour to catch their plane, and we as fellow Americans had to reprimand them, that they should have not got into the trip, if they thought they wont make it, we had to tell the local driver to drive as he should...such stupidity.
Agree. I think the company should have 2 workers on the boat; one to drive and one to watch their customer. Also they need to come up with a safer method for retrieving their customers from the water so it doesn't happen again. Prayers to her family 🙏
My piece of advice to the brother in the aftermath of tragedy is to NOT live for his sister. Do NOT put that pressure on yourself to be happy & successful & “live life to the fullest.” Allow yourself to mourn this irreparable loss. Live for yourself but accept there will be hiccups.
I totally agree
i'm pretty sure the things that you mentioned is what his sister would want and that is his way of saying to live for his sister.
why out of all the comments this made me teary eyed
This is exceptional advice. Most of my immediate family has tragically died. When the focus is so forcefully placed on "living life to the fullest" particularly, so soon after a majorly impactful Death the grief and sadness becomes buried and IT WILL eventually manifest later on. It is best to allow oneself to feel the pain in a healthy way and learn to move forward WITH it. Living well and fully is always the ultimate goal but eschewing and evading the Mourning will cause numerous issues later on.

This is so sad. I work in the ER in Hawaii & it’s so tragic when things happen to tourists because you know it was probably a dream for them to come to Hawaii only for someone in the family to pass away. I see it so much & it hurts. We see a lot of snorkeling accidents just water accidents in general. I’m so sorry for this family, so young. Hoping for healing… ❤
I almost drowned in Hawaii when I was 15. I got hit and sucked under by a wave. I'd never been in an ocean with waves like that and was unprepared for the power. I'm 48 now
Hawaii not a safe place for tourist
Tourists shouldn't go to Hawaii, its destroying the local ecosystem
Hawaii is heaven on earth so beautiful! You cant just stay indoors were all gonna die anyway. It's tragic but sometimes when its your time its just your time. Happy she was with those that loved her and doing something fun during her last minutes.
@@jennyjumpjump I wish more people were informed that snorkeling is not as simple as most people think. There are so many accidents in tourist locations involving snorkeling, but no one keeps track of all of these incidents. I love snorkeling, but open water snorkeling is almost an entirely different experience than using a mask and snorkel in your backyard pool. Everyone should have to be a swimmer and wear a vest, no matter how good a swimmer or how experienced you are at snorkeling.
I respect the hell out of them you can tell they’re good people that went through something terrible, And still remain humble and carry themselves with a sense of integrity… My arms go out to these people I wish I could give them a hug but I definitely will be praying for them
They are idiots… if they don’t understand the danger… just absolute idiots to say ‘we didn’t realize’… give me a break. Yes it’s sad, but they are idiots with victim mentality.
This is tragic but what's up with both parents having a thick accent yet the son has a regular American accent? Wtf is up with that? That is weird. That's how we get our accents, from our parents and growing up learning to speak with them. I can't wrap my head around that.
@@wombat5252 Honestly I applaud you for even picking up on that when most people wouldn’t however we do have people that come in from different countries that are now American citizens and when they have a child the child tends to have the accent of the country they were born in,I have a good friend that doesn’t have their parents accent because they were born here
@@cognitiveconnectionss But you spend the majority of your early years with your parents so you'd at the very least have a slight distorted accent like a mix. I know accents can sort of change over years and years of living in a different country but he's still young. I suppose I'm weird for noticing! You could possibly be right but that would be very rare. Maybe he was adopted at a certain age? That's the only thing I could think of.
@@wombat5252 You're overthinking it, most kids raised in America from immigrant parents develop a regular American accent, especially if they're young. Only certain words retain original pronunciation. This goes for multilingual kids (your first language being something other than english) and Non-American-english-as-a-first-language kids... If the accent remains, it's usually because they were older and their speaking patterns solidified. Source: First hand experience watching family and friends.

Horrifying! Yeah I agree ALWAYS have a spotter. So sad for this case…
Yes, that's boat safety 101. When my family goes out on the boat, someone onboard is always in charge of raising the red flag immediately to signify when someone's in the water.
it sound like the issue here wasn't even the lack of spotter, it was that the boat driver ran her over on his way back to get her.
That's absolutely terrifying. What is wrong with some people? Well done for saving that child.

@silver NO, you said "poor family? not really". That sure as hell doesn't sound like you were referring to unfortunate and sad. Like I said, you just had to get a snide remark in. Sad world we are living in today when people can't feel the pain of others sufferings but instead choose to make callous remarks with no regard to what others are going through. What a heartwrenching story. My heart goes out to the family of Cassidy. Here in Alabama, it’s a law that an observer be present whenever someone is being pulled behind the boat, i.e. skiing, tubing, wakeboarding, etc. I honestly thought the family was going to say another boat had hit her because the driver couldn’t get to her fast enough. Terrible tragedy.
This is tragic and I'm not familiar with watersports/regulations. But can someone tell me how would an observer help in this situation?
@@rc6292 One set of eyes can only focus on one thing at a time and for a driver, they have to focus mostly on what's going on in front. Two sets of eyes can however allow the driver to focus on driving and the observer focus on observing, allow them to easily communicate with each other, and be able to see over blind spots. Of course when the driver accidentally bumps the lever up to full speed, that's more of a human error, but it allows for a better more safe approach that doesn't end like a reverse Titanic.
@@rc6292 they mean that a spotter would’ve alerted the driver right away that she fell off the tube, so potentially with the boat not getting so far from her, they might not have hit her. Still a crazy thing to accidentally hit the throttle… and why was the boat pointed straight at her? Big mistakes by the driver.
I thought so too. Because how can they simply be so unsafe to not do something all drivers do (even cars), which is to remember the gas from the brake
She was safe in the water with a lifejacket. It was negligence and the lack of safety protocols that caused this tragic accident. Like someone else mentioned, you should never drive head on into someone.

Just hearing about this now and knowing how long the family has been suffering is heartbreaking and I just feel like holding the father mother and brother ! the guilt of the father must be so overwhelming, it's only natural for a parent to beat themselves down because of something like this but experience is knowledge and it doesn't always come on our timetable, God-bless you all of you. Beautiful people
Y didn't the boat slow down 😢 😲

So sorry to hear but thank you for sharing
My prayers are going out to this amazing family👏👏May God comfort them each and everyday. Thanks for using your story to help others.
As someone who lives 20 min from a huge lake and has been on the water my whole life, this could happen to anyone, anytime on the water. Being on the water is never inherently safe, you should always be aware accidents can happen. It's not failproof. My mom flew out of a tube once and broke her leg really badly. Watersports are extreme and you always have to be careful. You should always have a lookout to tell the driver once someone flies off so they can turn around immediately.
I'm sorry for their loss.
