It has taken me some time to post this.. I met her and hung out a couple times, while she filmed MB... she was such a great lady. I only knew her as a friend during the time of filming MB or speed fan but just a fan... Let me tell you this.she was fearsome and she was someone I trusted.. I still miss her today. (she is the only real famous person I knew) and I am humbled... Damn gal I miss ya.

I don't know this Oregon site but once drove across the Bonneville Salt Flats (on the Utah/Nevada border), where many land speed records have been set. What amazed me was how rough a surface it was - I was bouncing around at 50mph in a regular SUV and would not have wanted to go any faster for fear of losing control. I cannot imagine what it must be like to go multiple times faster on such a surface. It must take a very special person. RIP Jessi. You will be hugely missed but at least you did get to do what you loved doing, during a too short a life.

The sad reality is that who really gives a shit about how fast your car goes? Most of the world doesn't even know her or her record. Such is human nature, some risk their existence for little return, and some praise it as if it is something to be worshipped, it's not. It's actually a waste, an unnecessary reckless abandonment to the sanctity of life. Futile and meaningless.
The speed limit is 70mph for good reason, and nobody drives around in a rocket car. Grow up.

There will not be much of an investigation. If it was an aircraft NTSB would investigate it. The accident was due to high risk record setting in a 1950's jet fighter they knocked the wings off and bolted wheels on.

Jumping out of a plane for example, Free climbing buildings and natural structures without ropes or safety equipment, racing rocket cars faster then the speed of sound etc. All of these things, we have no natural business doing. Ocean master, so you are now claiming she had a mental illness? That’s rich! I guess Neil Armstrong, Chuck Yeager and every iron worker that constructed the Empire State Bldg. was nuts! That THING, a decommissioned F104 fighter,
didn't even have a cage! How the heck did it ever pass the technical inspection?
Seen a lot of land speed cars, they ALWAYS had a cage built into them. At least
2 people should be brought up on criminal charges, the designer, and the tech
inspector. The F104, or ANY aircraft for that matter were never designed with
crash protection in mind. ALL race cars, by any race rule book I have ever seen,
are supposed to, or they are not allowed to compete. This was supposedly running
under FIA's eye, how was it ever certified to run ???
