I remember everybody had Pokémon fever in school. All we would do is play Mario Kart DS and Pokémon for break and lunch time. Good times man
Pokemon was considered for "losers" around this time in my school so I didn't go too hard in public with my addiction.
High school, emulators on iPhones and iPod touches. Good days.

@@nickoffury yep I remember as well. I stopped for awhile, at least until the lead up to X & Y. Then another golden age hit since all my friends bought a 3DS and got back into it as adults lol
I missed the original style. Top down view holds a special place in my heart. Growing up during red/blue gold/silver era makes this game ring true to nostalgia.
Same. I wish they would put heart gold on the switch. I’ve wanted it for so long but there’s to many fakes out there and it’s over priced. I love the switch but they are really lacking with online and to make up for it they could at least beef up the virtual console stuff. I mean u could play minnish cap on the Wii U…
I'm handicapping myself by continuously swapping my team around and keeping them under-leveled but the game is still too easy. Torterra gets Earthquake the second it evolves

Exp Share removed all challenge from SwSh and has me worried about picking this one up. I want a challenge like I remember back when playing the older games. There's no challenge in the new ones, unless you make one yourself which is just annoying to do.

It saves time, nothing else.
Also you can easily just play with 1 pokemon in the team if you really think that grinding is a challenge.
Believe me, if it wasnt for exp share, I wouldnt have beaten cynthia after around 24h. I would have needed at LEAST 10h more, only grinding. why would that be fun?
“Torterra gets Earthquake the second it evolves” yea that was also true of the original DPP. Assuming you evolved Grotle at lv32, Torterra would then learn Earthquake.
Torterra always got Earthquake at 32 when it evolves, but yes the game is way too easy as usual, I've been skipping as many trainers as I can since the second gym and I'm still on level or overleveled.
They need to just go ahead and make a reboot that includes Kanto, Johto & Hoenn all in one game…
It could easily start you in Kanto with the originals and you just play through all 3 regions,
but I think it would be a lot better to be able to choose which region you start in and be able to pick from that region’s starters in the beginning.
I would actually play Pokémon again if they did that.
That would be awesome, and give more replayablity as well!
There is a real fun online game called (pokemon revolution online) it has all 4 regions included. Its remakably harder aswell. Was the best pokemon experience i had in the last 10 years. Ah and btw you start over each region with a new starter.

The new underground stuff is very nice. I always liked it and felt it was underrated.
But no battle frontier and super easy difficulty are a big nope.

I never cared about the battle frontier but I agree that I hate the how easy the game can be because of the exp share I think sword and shield did it better but I’d still like to turn off the exp share in general.
play it in nuzlocke mode and its quite a bit harder

I much would've preferred if this remake was less overly faithful and more akin to oras, but with an improved number of Pokémon available to the gym leaders like what they do with the rematches

Played pokemon my whole life, started with red on gameboy and went up from there playing each gen, idk If its because of experience from The games or showdown, but the game feels crazy easy, for me atleast.
I've played Pokemon red, blue, stadium 1+2, yellow, and gold. I haven't played the newer generation pokemon games and I don't know if it's worth buying. Is it?
@@georgedelcid5611 You're probably better off playing Darkest Dungeon. I used to play Pokemon, but now it feels very bland. The new ones are just a waste of time... Easy as counting to 10, press the same buttons over and over until reaching level 100, become overpowered and repeat

Thats because BF was in Platinum when these are remakes of Pearl and Diamond....
The Battle Tower was expanded with way more trainers than the Battle Frontier has ever had

Holy flippin' encounter rates, Batman! There should have been an easy button for run because buying enough repels would bankrupt me. I was almost overleveled for the elite four before I even reached the third gym.

Is it me or is this game is way too easy, im literally running a unintentional nuzlocke, im on the last gym and none of my pokemon have fainted once. Ever
This was me in sun and moon I literally didn’t lose a single fight until the champion or whatever he’s called in that game

@@ChrisS-nq1ke That's *recent Pokemon. The games were never THIS easy, the difficulty was definitely cut down to appeal to a wider audience. It would be nice if, for example, the EXP share could be turned off ever like in the older games.

I never played Gen 4. I am at the 5th gym and so far I like the game. I wish we had more Pokémon tho like in ORAS.
In a way,I like the way it’s just gen 1 up to gen 4 Pokémon because it just makes the game more hyped than if it had like gen 5 mons,it would make the game feel weird since it’s a diamond and Pearl remake.
@@sirdan8799 well ORAS was a remake too but they had much more Pokémon. A remake doesn’t have to be a true remaster they can implement new things in it to make it better.

@@sirf-fuzzylogik4007 in my opinion, the change I would make is in the world of Pokemon, back in the days of GBA generation the world of Pokemon had some charisma, I loved to talk with the NPCs, it felt like I was inside that world, you know what I mean? Now the technical changes, I would put a difficult setup, new quests, new minigames inside the Pokemon World, I've always wanted a Pokemon TCG minigame inside a Pokemon RPG like Gwent in Witcher 3

Idc what anyone says I'm throughly addicted to this game. It's like comfort food and it's been so long since I played the original its scratching the right itch.
im really dissapointed in the changes to the contest hall and the walking mechanic. you walk faster than most pokemon and you leave them behind when sprinting, then they just awkwardly teleport to you every 5 seconds
Yeah walking with a Pokémon is so distracting.

Honestly to me this game is not worth $60 I would go for a $45 price tag but knowing Nintendo this game will remain $60 for years to come

@@bikespj22 Well I remember losing it somehow, I swear it was something to do with saving or something along those lines but it was funny.
@@benmortimer4783 maybe you started a new file. I think it was before they added all those extra "are you sure" steps they have in the current games.

Honestly I just wish they made the game have a x2 speed in battles and general animations... removing the battle animations doesn't really do the trick. It still feels slow and clunky regardless

Believe me I've been waiting over 20 something years for blue/red/yellow remake. Closest we've gotten is lets go eevee/Pikachu.

ORAS had at least new Mega Evolutions. Would have been interesting to have something new to make the gameplay more interesting.
ORAS wasn't a remake really. It was a revamp. BDSP are remakes.

Hey, quick question. Been playing the games since Red and Blue, but stopped since Emerald. So, I really want to get into this. I want to know, are you able to swap whatever pokemon you want in your party from the menu, since you dont need to go to the pokemon center pc any more, by specifically swapping your starter from the top of the list before a battle to ensure that whatever pokemon is first, that pokemon is the first that battles? I have just bought a Nintndo Switch, so I want to get used to how this new system works.

You worded your question a bit weirdly, but if I understand correctly: You can access the PC from your party, yes. And you can always swap which Pokémon is first in your party and you could in Red and Blue as well.
I’ve been level capping all my Pokémon. And so far so good I am usually two levels under the gym leaders ace Pokémon. I can’t wait to be in the elite four
Cynthia was ridiculously hard for me in the original. I had nightmares.
Cynthia is definitely a challenge if you're not seriously prepared.
Just got shining pearl as an early Christmas gift to myself. Did I make the right choice?
i like this game a lot more than i thought i would. ofc stuff like the lack of battle frontier is disappointing, but i’m honestly having a blast just reliving the sinnoh story. playing around in the underground is really addictive, as well as the contests (though i wish there was a harder difficulty that required maxed out contest stats or something to be able to win). and the exp share isn’t a problem for me, once you start getting too overleveled it seems that your exp gain goes way down. i still hope for a battle frontier dlc someday, but im glad the battle tower is still fun and difficult and the rematches are fun, too.

I kinda stopped playing Pokemon around gen 3 or 4, as a kid. This game is kinda new to me its pretty fun. Heart Gold needs a switch port or remake next.
Im confused to why they remade the inferior version of that GEN when they had Platinum as a option... oh wait i know, so they can release 2 Pokemon games instead of one 😑
I just wish the game was at the same difficulty as the elite four. Now I’m not saying that is super hard but I feel like that’s a good balance between it still being a kids game and a little more of a challenge.
I wish these were made for 2ds instead, i don't much like playing pokemon games on switch tbh. I don't carry my switch around and only play in docked mode so it just doesn't feel the same.

I love this game
I think for the EXP share when it’s always on like this, they should at least make it so the last Pokémon in your party gets the least amount of EXP, then you can put the highest level ones there and train the others without getting over leveled, and without having to put the Pokémon away first. Not perfect, enjoyed this game, but it was a little too easy. Besides Cynthia, the Gym and Elite 4 rematches, and battle tower every other battle was a cake walk.
Upset you cant use HOME right away. I heard eventually it will but betting it wil be available but ill bet itll be a DLC!!

No, you don't have to grind in Pokemon games. Battling trainers in routes is not grinding, battling wild Pokemon from time-to-time is not grinding. Spending more than 10 hours to do a playthrough is not grinding.
Anyone who claims that grinding is necessary in any Pokemon game has most likely only played mobile games their whole lives. Play a Dragon Quest game and experience what true grinding is.

Legends Arceus will have voice acting to some degree.

I still don’t understand the difference from pokemon games. They all made me feel like they are the same but since i recently got the oled switch i want to get all the pokemon games to see what they all are about.

How are online battles conducted?
I just found this game to be wayyyyyy too easy.
I just spammed a handful of attacks the whole game. I never had a single pokemon die or anything.
Gotta have a Legendary on your team to fight Cynthia in a game where the EXP share stays on for your whole party. That’s hella lame

i don't know but i think this classic formula is way better than the "new" weird things they try to push forward. they mastered this formula, and this remake is just home for me.
I am looking forward to get both Pokemon brilliant diamond and Pokemon shining pearl games for Christmas🎄. I also would liked to play as Dawn and choose Piplup as my starter Pokemon so I can do better than the anime Dawn and what Piplup would never do. And that is catching more Pokemon and evolve Piplup into Prinplup and then to Empoleon.
However when I was watching UA-cam of any ideas what to expect on Pokemon brilliant diamond and Pokemon shining pearl, but when I was looking to find out about Wonder Trade that I've just found out today that at the moment is unavailable😱. I mean it isn't fair because I was looking forward to get both Pokemon Brilliant Diamond and Pokemon Shining Pearl games for Christmas and I was hoping to used Wonder Trade for any Pokemon I want. Now I'm going to have to wait in early January to hear more news at that what I though it's going to happen.

This is what i expected from this review: a 7-8/10 game. It's honestly one of the more fair reviews I've seen compared to some like Nintendo Life. And that's shocking considering I'm saying this about a Gamespot review. Guess they do have some good reviewers left after all. My only recommendation for this game would be if you've never played Gen 4 before and don't access to Platinum or you're just looking for nostalgia for Sinnoh. Other than it's skippable.

These games are so good, I’ve been playing them so much since launch. The postgame is without a doubt the best postgame we’ve had in a long time.
what kind of review is this? xD According to this review there are no flaws in this game so why 7 out of 10? like 90% of pokemon reviews online are only praising the positives without even touching the negatives for some reason.

This is the first pokemon game since x and y I will not be buying. Honestly the forced exp share, lack of barely anything new, and it being 60 dollars (I know a pokemon game is usually 60 dollars this is just not worth the price) is just a no for me.
I can’t look past how awful the chibi looks, like it looks like a cheap spin off game not an actual remake
