The normally harder to please GameSpot gives it a 9 when IGN gives it a 7... Odd times we live in.
Makes no sense
Yeah ign be trolling
@@Motivational_Wisdom582 right still getting it
Because ign and gamespot are different groups of individuals who have their own opinions.
It really depends on the reviewer. If I'm not mistaken IGN didn't review 3D All-Stars, so I guess they don't like ports that much and I kind of agree with them.
I'm here cause ign gave it a 7 lol
Which is weird cuz they gave the original 3D World 9.6
If Mario Galaxy a 10, then these should be a 7. None of the newer 3d mario games are nowhere as good as Galaxy.
Some say they give re-releases lower scores, but when you take into account they gave Persona 5 Royal a 10 (originally a 9) and they get so many things wrong in the review, it's just painfully obvious IGN is unprofessional and horribly managed. Don't let me mention they gave 3D World + Bowser's Fury a 9 in other countries. Different people, sure, but it further adds to the statement why IGN is the laughing stock of journalism according to many

I don't get the super saiyan thing. It's obviously a lion
Not gonna lie, that’s a pretty sick looking boss battle
I haven't played Bowser's Fury yet, but based on what I've seen, my theory is that Bowser's Fury is Nintendo experimenting with a more open-world concept to get ready for development on a fully cohesive open-world sandbox Mario game. One that is larger and its own release, that is.
I’d love a open world Mario Game not like odyssey but like one huge map like zelda
Is more like a mix of 3D WORLD and Odyssey. Not much an experiment than a crossover of very developed game styles.
Mario breath of the wild would be sick
I think we would all like a Mario open world RPG. A lot of people hoped Paper Mario Orgami King would go more in the Breath of the Wild direction, but alas. I just really didn't like the combat in Orgami, & I hope there will be a Mario Breath of the Wild some day
I also agree with that and I'd be certainly looking forward to it.
3D World will forever be the underdog in the 3D Mario catalogue. When you divorce yourself from the notion that this game should have been a traditional 3D Mario game and put it in it’s own category, it’ll become clear just how amazing this game is.
I think it's arguably the best designed of the 3d games. the amount of ideas packed in there is insane
I really hate how so many people see 3d world's take on 3d Mario as an inferior experience just because it isn't 64, sunshine, galaxy or Odyssey. It's just a different style and in my opinion it is a brilliant game in its own way and kinda hate how people try to compare it to those other games.
I dont care if its 3d or not, it doesn't even matter I just care if its fun...
*its mario*
@@carolinasleeper4484 and the music, don’t get me started
oh please.. it's the same damn game you've played for the last 30 years. Which is why we love it.. Nothing brilliant or special about it though.. but i'm ok with that.
IGN just can't handle the power of 😺😺
Nintendo fans cant handle the power of criticism
@@boomerthedingo2196
So your telling me that a port of NSMB U that adds basically nothing gets a 9 from IGN but 3D World that adds a full new mode gets a 7? I call bullshit
Also no wonder your name is Boomer
@@boomerthedingo2196 ur right in general, but this is different cause of them giving the original a 9, like it's just dumb
7 isn't even bad. Game reviews need to stop giving 9s when a game is just "good".
@@boomerthedingo2196 You play Nintendo? Because I hope so otherwise you have no right to say that..
"Everyone is extra speedy"
So it's Mario 3D 150cc
Hey that rhymes!
It really shows the exaggerated Meower of a Middle age italian man
Mario is meant to be only 24 years old.
Mario is 25 years old
Gives me goosebumps every time
We know why you're here, to see if this review is better than IGN's 🤣🤣🤣
Pretty sure for most people it's just to see if this review represents their own opinions, nothing more. Reviewers don't seem to be allowed to have different opinions nowadays. And I do get that the review had some questionable points, but in the end it's still just the reviewers opinion.
@@ad_-yk9bz Never forgive their Xenoblade Reviews...
@@BigMastah79 yeah that was crap
@@BigMastah79 But it's just a review. And a review of a video game. One of the most subjective things you can review. And again, its just a freaking video game. No one will need forgiveness for that.
Though I am going to assume you just mean it more as a joke. So don't take this as an offense in any way. It's just sometimes I feel like there are people that actually think like that.
@@ad_-yk9bz Okay but they gave the Definitive edition a lower score than the older iterations even though they praised it on being an improvement, spoiled the game, said names wrong, and just had so many inconsistencies in their video that it was astonishing. THAT is not subjective, now is it?
Ign in 2013: hey guys uh here's a 9.5/10 for mario 3d world pretty good game
ign now: alright it's been 7 years, i give it a 7/10 i fucking hate it
you can't say "ignorance" without "IGN"
because the game already exist and that we are many years later , yes it lost on rating and i agree with it. im tired of remakes and people should stop buy them at the big price those companies sell those remakes.
When people ignore that re releases should be reviewed based on they're re release instead of the game itself. There is already a 9.6 review of this game. Thats something your brain can comprehend right? They arent saying the game isnt amazing. They're saying paying full price for a 7 year old game with a couple extra hours of shit to do in 2021 isnt a great deal

Shoutout to Nintendo Life's review as well, those guys know their stuff and actually have the ability to properly review and critique (and I had to mention them since they're just great people in general)
Not really suspect this just aligns with your opinion but ok

Ignore reviews, they mean nothing.
GameSpot I support ya now this is the true essence of a true review thank you!
I always get jealous of the reviewers that get to play the game early
I had to watch this after watching IGNs review and thank you GameSpot, it’s like you actually played the game, I don’t know what’s going on with IGNs reviews but glad ya’ll are still holding strong
I can't wait to play this again on my switch. One of the best.
This game is so good. I’d put it up there with Odyssey. One of the greatest 3D platformers ever made, perhaps THE greatest.
Bowsers fury was really sick. They need to a make a full game like it. 8 worlds that same size that you unlock piece by piece with the same giant boss battle idea
So glad this game is getting the respect it deserves over the past year. I always thought it was really slept on, it's easily one of the best Mario games, 2d or 3d.
I'm probably going to check out Bowser's Fury first when I get the game.
Personally I do believe this is so much more fun than Odyssey, just pure and constant creative and challenging platforming, which is mostly what Mario is about IMO.
yeah imo odyssey had really good ideas, but was too easy and short.
Great review and well written. Thanks.
Correction: Captain toad first appeared in Super Mario Galaxy, and was first playable in Super Mario 3D World
True
When will gamespot learn to put the new reviews at the top of the review Playlist and not all the way at the bottom???
Thank you. This drives me insane. How can 1 of the largest gaming review sites not understand how to use UA-cam playlist?! lollll
I bought the game for Super Mario 3D World which I highly enjoyed on WiiU and launched Bowser’s Fury without any high hopes given the ‘bad’ previews this ‘addition’ had. And color me surprised but that game is awesome, I couldn’t put down the controller for 4 hours straight. This game is the missing link between SM3DW and Mario Oddyssey and it’s pure fun, a real hidden gem. The open world makes you seamlessly explore the world, looking for cat stars and secrets literally everywhere. Mario Oddyssey felt big and empty to me and I often got bored to death of endlessly walking around and in Bowser’s Fury it’s a joy. Stuff everywhere, cats everywhere XD So give it a chance and try it out!
Way better than IGN review great job
omg cant believe that mario found all 7 chaos emeralds and became super mario
Great review that embraces the game for what it is.
I bought this because I like the fact that it’s two games in one, and I also don’t like to get super involved in a long adventure like in Zelda or animal crossing. So far it’s been a lot of fun.
after seeing your great review for cyberpunk, i now know who to trust with honest videogame journalism.
Excellent reviewing host. I (re)learned two new ASVAB/GRE words.
Wow Super Yellow Giant Mario is Super Magnificent, this Game is Gonna be Awesome 😍😍😍
Yes gorgeous 😍 💖
IGN’s review honestly surprised me. Mostly because they gave the same game an almost perfect score years ago.
IGN hates ports for some reason
@@evanzacharias4062 unless it’s Skyrim or RE4
Just remember IGN gave Cyberpunk a 9
I remember people giving Gamespot a ton of shit for their cyberpunk review😂
And? Many people consider Cyberpunk to be on the same tier as Fallout New Vegas.
@@OvPdTurtle And IGN gave this game a 7 for these points:
1. No "assist mode" even though it's a port, not a remaster so they don't have to implement new features into the port. (Also they blamed the game for not being easy enough for beginners. Saying "You can still die from pits and lava in the port" Ok, that's how it always was back in 3d land too. Golden Tanooki leaf doesn't make you invincible to level hazards, that would make it too easy.
2. The guy just dumbed down the score because the additional content was just cat themed. Of course it's cat themed, the original was cat themed, what else would the theme be?
3. He said that it was basically a demake because the multiplayer was still as chaotic as it originally was. Of course they didn't change it, it's a port, not a remake.
If that doesn't tell you anything about how crappy IGN's reviews have gotten over the years, I don't know what will
@@oldmanconsequences5872 I'm definitely not defending IGN, just didn't understand why he used Cyberpunk as an example when so many people love it.
Hindsight is really something. Mario 3d world was originally celebrated because of the mashup of 2d and 3d concepts in a time the world hasn't seen a proper 3d mario game for a while, then it lost its polish among nintendo hardcore fans when they realized it wasn't as deep as galaxy 1,2 and 64. Now that we got mario odissey people are looking back at 3d world more fondly again.

Is Bowser Furry a additional application or a addition mode in 3d world ?

I just got a Switch last month, never played this game not surprising since I haven't played a Nintendo system since Gamecube. Is this worth the money?
"Catbell power up" (dies inside)
I came to watch this so I knew I wanted the game for sure
I score this review a 10/10.
At least they didn’t lower the score for no reason like IGN.
I wish Nintendo would give Mario 64 the Switch treatment. I know there have been remakes, but they have not looked this good.
Coming from IGN (Who gave it a 7), it's good to see a good review
I see you are cultured as well with that pfp
I thought that "super cat mario" was just "lion mario."
I miss the days of being able to watch a youtube video without adverts every 2 min
I didn’t any ads so it must be something on your side
Damn good review :)
I'm glad you have actual complaints about the game instead of IGN who didn't like how the assist power up wasn't an automatic win button or how everything is cat.
That remark about item storage not working outside Bowser's Fury is really weird. It has been used for more than thirty years since Super Mario Bros 3 and has also been used in a couple of other Mario games. Chances are the concept itself is older than the reviewer playing the game.
Finally get to play this classic for the first time Friday. Got it downloaded and ready to go.
Man toad does have such a comically large size backpack.
Captain toad, as a character, debuted in Super Mario Galaxy
Captain Toad debuted in Galaxy.
This review was well written.
Nice review
Good review!
Honestly, I was expecting Bowser's Fury to be a dark world in exactly the same manner as SM 3D World. But instead it felt like something out of SM Odyssey which felt like a total mismatch in the package.
Hey, an accurate GameSpot review for once.
"Mahrio"
Up until now the only 3D Mario that didn't look and feel completely different from a previous one was Galaxy 2. It feels so weird seeing Bowser's Fury looking like it should be based on Odyssey when in reality it's based on 3D World...
Aaaccchhhually Captain Toad first appeared in Super Mario Galaxy.
i'm gonna argue that Galaxy introduced Captain Toad. but this game obv. introduced the captain toad mini game
I loved the music
I think they are gonna make a new odyssey 3D world like game basically like bowsersfury but a full game with themed areas.
This videos super Mario 3D world segment is like almost exactly videogamedunkey’s review of the game

Is this game available on wii u
I'd say this game is a 7/10 because it isn't a bad game but it ain't worth paying full price for a remaster and a short DLC.
I really want to play Bowsers Fury but I dont wanna pay full price for 3D World again. If it was a separate cheeper purchase it would be a no brainer for me.
I love playing any Mario game, but I never got this game on the Wii U though. Should I buy this?

Better than IGN‘s „Cats die when jumping off 7/10“
Something for everyone 9/10
I just can't see how they slapped a $60 price tag on this game. Should have $40 because of the additional content and the other ports should have been $25-$30
All Nintendo games are $60. And this game you get 2 games in one, so it kinda a good deal
You know, something is weird about the price of Nintendo games. Here in Spain you can buy games 10€ cheaper in big supermarket than in actual gaming shops. I feel like the price isn't fixed. Also, some of the Nintendo first party games can be bought here for 45€ instead of 50€, which is nice.
I might actually pick this up.
