- People always want to know the differences between versions such as the differences between Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl, but with the remakes they also want to know all major differences and changes between the new game and the old games as well. In this case, the major differences between Pokemon Brilliant Diamond & Shining Pearl compared to Pokemon Diamond & Pearl. Ive definitely noticed the AI improvements, they’ll switch out Pokemon if theyre at a type disadvantage sometimes for example

Breloom is awesome. But here's something kinda crazy.
Suppose I take a newly hatched level 1 Feebas and set it up to evolve through beauty. And then I take a level 87 Breloom and rare candy it to level 88.
If they were to gain the same battle experience, Milotic would reach level 100 before Breloom. This is because Milotic is in the fastest possible experience group (Erratic, which goes from 1 to 100 in just 600k experience,) while Breloom is in the slowest (Fluctuating, which needs 1640k.) The final slog for Breloom is so long that it takes more than 600k to go from 88 to 100.

tbh I don't like the whole "your pokemon endured the attack so you wouldn't feel sad" thing either, but it made for the most anime moment i have ever experienced in a pokemon game... I was fighting Cynthia but was extremely underleveled, after a long and intense fight in which I used all of my healing items, there was only her garchomp left and only my torterra was left standing in my team, thanks to curse abuse my torterra could endure the hits from her garchomp and I could just keep spamming earthquake on her, but Garchomp is obviously much faster. Torterra was like one more hit away from dying and suddenly "Torterra avoids the attack via your shout
That's why I personally am fine with the mechanic
High friendship has its benefits
Its not too new a mechanic, friendship has had secondary effects since gen 3

The grand underground is my favorite, but the better AI and the fact that the rematches are tougher now, is certainly a welcome thing to me personally.
The remakes still holds many of the aspect that made the original great

I would love a difficulty option making gym be 5-10 levels stronger and having a team of 6 also with trainers having more pokemon that actually use strategies and healing items that would be amazing
Pokemon Brilliant diamond and pearl is actually the hardest pokemon in years. Check out his recent video on it. The post-game is insanely difficult, Rematch Cynthia has a lv 88 Garchomp
@@boneruler2338 Only 493 pokemons was a bit of a bummer that made me go from ‘on the fence’ to ‘not buying it’, but the heightened difficulty (especially the better A.I.) is bringing me back to ‘on the fence’.
For everything disappointing, there’s something else that’s really good and makes me want it. If only the game was 60$ instead of 80$,

I’m excited for the soundtrack. Im also glad we get capsules and seals earlier on. I feel like other games should have kept them as well as contests. I actually enjoyed the old contests so I’m intrigued to see what the super contests are like.
same, it seems we get more seals too, i think they added a lot. and random npcs give you them.
kinda weird that they call them Stickers in bdsp instead of Seals
@@canavero4288 It’s definitely a little odd that they changed the name, but I guess it makes sense in some ways, cause they look like stickers that you put on it. Glad that you’re also excited about them. It’s cool that they added more. I honestly had forgotten about the feature then when it was mentioned it was like oh yeah those were awesome.
My first two Pokemon games were Pokemon Leaf Green and Emerald. I admit I played Fire Red, Ruby and Sapphire, but after Leaf Green and Emerald, they felt... the same. So Diamond was my first mainline Pokemon game. I really enjoyed it. So I finally get a nostalgia feel.

BDSP may not be like Platinum, but makes the experience of play DP (which I have never played due to all their problems) way better.
What kind of problems do you mean in D and P?

@@bflandragon90 The difference is you can get pokemon not in the dex in underground.
@@AsianRailgun but they're part of the national dex. Same size altogether as the original diamond and pearl.
I was never upset about the pokedex for this game my mind was like “oh well”

@MrHedgehog theres much more than the original 151 in LG FR. you're thinking of red and blue
I think it's just a big from Gen6 which had the Nat Dex but it had so many in the base game.
I think what was updated was for the better and mostly fix the "flaws" in the originals. Also I'm happy that chintia got smarter, was kinda funny that she wanted to use giga impact against my empoleon instead of earthquake

Well i just wanted to plant a kitchen sink in my secret base and play capture the flag with my friends but i guess its nice at least one of us got what they wanted
now with shadow giratina, we finally have a "shadow trio" of sorts alongside Mewtwo and Lugia

Honestly really nice video honestly, I didn't know the gyms gave you capsules, so that was really cool. Gliscor and Houndoom were both only in Platinum, but other than that, everything was really great!

I’m getting used to the chibi style, had to admit wasn’t a fan at first.
Same. Wasn't a big fan with it first, but the chibi style grew on me

The “anime power ups” happen when the Pokémon is friends with you. I personally think it adds a bit of immersion to the games.

The reason for why they removed the game corner has more to do with the video game rating system in Europe where back around the time that HeartGold and SoulSilver we're in development they changed the rating system that if a game included any form of gambling such as the game corner then the games would be rated suited for much older audiences instead of them being for all ages and the Pokemon company didn't want their games to be removed from the all ages category so they just removed all forms of the game corner completely after HGSS. In the end they reused the game corner spaces in veilstone for the clothing store

Just watched this the night before my copy of Shining Pearl is due to arrive through shipping. I'm even more hyped to play it now bc I was initially expecting it to be more like the Let's go games because of the chibi style. “Anime power up” in other words game mechanic to give your favorite Pokémon a defensive boost and explaining lore-wise as a strong bond as a wink to the anime.
Friendship: the extra EV. I feel like it’s been a part of the franchise long enough that someone who’s a PokéTuber should understand it as such and not just an “anime power up”. And anyone who’s been playing the games recently. They added a new EV bonus and because it was called 🥰Friendship🥰it was deemed girly and frufru by the fragile and thus looked down upon. It’s just another stat you can work towards to give you an edge without sacrificing another stat like conventional EVs.
Friendship is a Luck stat!!! 😱 I just blew my own mind.
I’m glad to see seals are going to be in the game! This was my favorite feature in the game.
