For people wondering why there are black stripes on the navigation screen. That has something to do with the camera I think. In real life you don’t have those stripes👍🏼

not the same resolution between camera is tablet.
this is called aliasing. because the screen has certain refresh rate, while your camera has lower frame per sec. therefore the aliasing happens, which is the stripes.
Nio’s success is the entire industry’s success. The more that battery swap is successful the more that battery storage overall is successful. A vastly underappreciated paradigm shift.

In mysteriös point of view swapping is quite cool but fancy and I think it is more like Apple with IOS. Its never was the goal of apple to have IOS on every Smartphone.
The battery swap thing is kind of a poor solution honestly. It makes it quicker, almost petrol station fast, but really hurts the longer term sustainability of EVs
I gotta agree with you. You have a subscription. NIO comes out with a solid state battery. More range less weight. Designs it so it fits the old design. Swap out the old one the new one at whatever extra cost. I drive out with a new car without changing the car.

I own a Tesla Model Y and a Nio ET7 in China. I think that ET7 has no competitors in the same class, and it's one of the best BEV that I've ever experienced. Equipped with air suspension and wild back seats, ET7 is extremely comfortable and quiet. Also, it's fast, powerful and intelligent. What a dream car!

Replacing the battery is a good idea, customers can choose to buy a car without the battery and choose to rent the battery so that they do not need to worry about the wear and tear of their battery due to long hours of driving, while in the future there is an opportunity to replace the battery with a more advanced, longer range battery, and less waiting time for charging.
seriously NIO have the battery which lasts about 6 months and some will be 3 months it's go by subscription plan.

@Hermes Literatus: dude...it is basically the same price as a Mercedes, this interior is nowhere near as an eqe, and not even an eqs. It is a competitor for tesla. Also here the best point is the software. And it also has a shit range, okay battery swap but i don't see how it will work in practice. If I would guess, the most succesful, and only succesful chineese car brand in europe will be Mg. They have very competitive price with Peugeot (stellantis), ford, japanese and Hyundai-Kia. At some models also with VW. (Id.3 class)

@@chenmax9337 yes I own a c 300 diesel coupe. Never had better car in my life. My audi a3 sedan before was already perfect, but this is the best I ve ever experienced. My next will be an eqc sedan for sure, when it will be launched (2023/2024)

@@ruemignon I generally written about Chinese cars. I also think EV cars are more reliable compared to ICE cars. We just not knowing about the reliability of Chinese cars. Maybe they will be fine maybe not, we don't know. Currently there are very few Chinese cars in Europe, and even fewer in the USA.

battery swap are good because others as on Tesla dont have that but battery dies in few years(15 years longevity if you don't drive it something) and new ones costs 20000 euro or $ while here you always get new ones and no worry for battery dies or minimal worry
lol, there are currently over decade old Nissan Leafs with original batteries and those are not even as good grade, they don't die in few years at all

How will it be once we all own cars with 800 Volt batteries?The cords are already super heavy and rigid and the newest versions need cables that are actively cooled. Meanwhile everyone is calling for energy storage to support green energy. There you have it. NIO has been successfully run swap stations in charge2grid mode and it will likely expand that to all swap stations in the near future.

I might get one in a few days, China apparently ending the 10k RMB incentive next year so there's a bit of a deadline if I buy it and if it's in time.

They test it with 2 male adults sitting in the car so if you are driving alone, you are going to get around 3.5 should the weather allows the tires to perform their best.

If you have 30% power left You'll be charged for another 60% with Battery swap. Every Battery on the station will be 90% charged
Yes. They do so in Norway and they will do so in Germany as well. During the beginning of subscription (not many swap stations) the swaps will be free. Sales model will follow soon.

You just swap it every 300 miles instead of charging it? Or why would you even change it instead of charging it?
well the advantage would be in quick 5 min change, that sounds nice, but network would have to be built to make it functional

What's even cooler is that NIO supports the replacement of batteries of different capacities, which means that you can upgrade your battery at any time after buying a car, and support flexible upgrades by day, month, and year.
The flexible upgrade means that you choose to buy the model with the smallest battery life, because even the smallest battery life is enough for your daily commute to get off work. Then you can temporarily upgrade your battery capacity for holiday travel (billed by the day), and after the holiday is over, you don't need to continue paying rent when you switch back to a small battery.
Come to think of it, the battery supports physical replacement, meaning:
1. Faster charging speed, get a fully charged battery in 5 minutes
2. Flexible battery capacity strategy, you can temporarily upgrade the battery before going on a high-speed trip. It also only takes 5 minutes, no appointment required
3. There is no need to worry about the attenuation of the battery. The battery replacement network ensures the health of the battery.
4. Older vehicles can still enjoy battery packs with the latest technology. The vehicles released by NIO in 2018 can still be replaced with the latest and largest capacity batteries! I always wondered how cars with pop out door handles function under -15 Celsius temperature. What if door handles are (not the lock mechanism itself) frozen and you can't access the car even if it's "technically" unlocked? Is there a safeguard for that?
They’re heated.
Well, there are two option, 1: door handle are heated, 2: enable door auto open in the app setting, it will open once registered phone are close to the car
A similar situation has been considered in the design. The door handle is designed to break the ice and pop up under the premise of covering no more than 5 mm of ice in an environment of minus 25 degrees.
How much time takes you to change battery?
5min
Gen2 takes 5-6 minutes. New Gen3 swap will take less than 3 minutes.

This is true. I live in Germany and my Audi V8 diesel goes up to 300 km/h with fuel consumption around 8l at middle speeds about 120-160 km/h. So in any other country, I would give the NIO a chance, but in Germany I feel the limitation. If they would give 230, 240 km/h, that could make me think about it.
