Not as much as you would think🙃 around half of the famous rock songs I go to lookup to play he doesn't have one on it and I have to watch some 17 year old in his bedroom do a shitty lesson on it. Wish he did more songs that were infamous.
Brother, You have helped me so much picking up the guitar again has brought happiness and fulfillment in what are some dark times.. music sooths the soul! I love that your teaching 90 rock!!! Thank you Marty!
I don't even know how this gets any thumbs down. Thanks, Marty. Years now... YEARS you have been my go-to. Much appreciation for what you do here. With no ads. 🙌
Stupid UA-cam won't let me create a comment, so will reply here: this song is very similar to Neil Young's Southern Man, and the beat/rhythm section is similar to For What It's Worth.....
Marty, you have always helped me play and understand music throughout the years and without your tutorials, I might not have stayed with guitar and I just want to thank you from the bottom of my heart.
All them ads on here before Marty’s lesson are just money schemes. I have been playing guitar for a long time and professionally taught as a child. I stopped playing for several years although you'll never completely forget once taught professionally by the best in the business I used Marty music to touch up my very rusty technique. He is hands down the best instructor on UA-cam. The first indication that he is the beat is the fact that he offers ALL of his extensive knowledge for FREE!
I have always gone to tab when I hear a song I like to learn. Almost every time I have gotten the proper lesson, it has been through Marty. The free pickups I have gotten from him are invaluable and if you can afford to take a class he'd be your guy! Thanks for helping us all pick our way through this life!!!
I heard this on the radio the other day. I hadn't heard it in a long time. I thought to myself "I should see if Marty has a lesson for this?" Now I can play it and it's easier than it sounds.

Hey Marty I am 33 years old and have always wanted to learn to play the guitar. Your videos have helped me alot. Thank you for putting something innocent, and pure on UA-cam in a world of horrible things. I'm doing alot better. In 2 months I've gone from not knowing anything about guitar, to being able to play 8-10 chords, and the song "Wish you were here" including the solo. Thank you again!!!
Edit:Thanks for the gold kind stranger Edit:OMG 3,000 upvotes thank you guys so much!! (: Edit: cant believe my most upvoted comment has to be about lord farquads boner
I retired in 2020 spring have bought six guitars all of my playing has been based on Marty's Videos ....I would rate him a "10 " my biggest regret is I didn't start playing till I was 58 years old, For what it's worth do not quit if you're a beginner like me it gets better and better smoother and smoother
u , sir r a awesome teacher, most instructores i see on you tube go thru things so fast that i cant keep up. thank for butting in the extra effort to brake it down. keep rocking it out 4 us
Probably one of my first comments ever on UA-cam even though being on here for as long as I can remember, I just thought I’d let you know that you teach me a TON of music and when I search a song I always hope you have a video for that song. Anyways, just thought you’d enjoy hearing that. Keep up the great work man. I literally watch you multiple times weekly!! Thanks again!!
I don’t subscribe to many people but you have helped me get back into playing the guitar after many years while teaching my son so your are definitely worth subscribing to! Thank you man!! Keep up the good work!
Wow - I had totally forgotten this tune. Thanks for re-activating a cluster of neurons. With remembering this tune, I actually also remembered an old friend, associated with this song`s era, that I haven`t stayed in touch with. . .
your dislikes are proof that some people just hate the world. i love your videos, been 10 years since i played, ive been playing a week and learned 5 full songs from you alone.
funny how a song that was so evocative in my youth is really just a few simple chords (with a little extra flavor every once in a while). thank you marty!!
Sometimes I hear an old song and it like I'm hearing it for the first time. So I checked out your Channel and nine times out of 10 you have it nailed down for me. I just want to say thank you and keep up the excellent work
as always you show how to play a great song that sounds nice even though the saddest chord as per Marty is D minor.you are a great teacher. Real music forever!
your the best, I seen learning guitar. I played guitar since 12. That was 30 some yrs ago. you get it. I use you as my lessons in guitar if its ok? All will show you. When its you.
Im so glad you redid, the first one you were still learning it while watching, but it was better to learn from, gain an understanding of music, my way and find this when its needed the most, so thanks
Dude, you ARE a natural teacher, how you run through things and continue with the original lesson is perfect. Well done man, you have helped me easily crack this one by watching one video 👍🎶👌
I just watched the smells like teen spirit vid and it helped me so much that I played it perfectly the first time and you are my guitar hero you inspired me to play guitar when I was in fourth grade and when I watched you videos I would always learn somthing
I accidentally found the first two chords of this song and I was like well shit! I know this song, now I gotta play it and learn the whole thing! One of my fav songs.
To all those beginners who think this is a tough song, it is, but, wait to you try singing along with it. The way I learnt to play “every song” was just to strum the chords once. At least that was attainable. REM man on the moon, uses two chords and is super easy.
Hey marty just wanted to say thanks for all the guitar lessons ive been waching u for like the past 8 years with you and my roomate teaching me ive become alot better at guitar and have been branching out to my own music so keep it up and thanks again you rock
eddie rodriguez these are the kind of comments I look for. Marty is a beast and I have learned a couple songs from him. I hope your mastery of the fret board has gained exponentially
After learning your beginner courses on the chords, you made learning this much simpler. Do you teach actual courses online? I really want to dig deep Marty, you have a very easy to digest way of teaching good sir.
Could you add a lesson on how to play these two songs: Nothin' - Townes van Zandt '39 - Queen? You are the best guitar teacher on UA-cam! Thanks for all of this.
First time with a guitar and this is one of the songs I want to learn. I think practice is the key. But really struggling with muting strings at the moment. Great lesson and thanks for making it look so easy.
Man's been a long time since I seen Marty Schwartz years ago when I first start playing guitar it's great coming back after so long and seeing that he's done so well with his UA-cam channel when he was just someone I used to learn how to play guitar from love your s*** man keep it up
I just wanna say thank you for doing this I just started learning and I’m 11 I learned parts of iron man I learned twinkle twinkle little star and now this so thank you for teaching me
Well, I was just strumming a couple days ago, and thought I had figured this intro and song out just by memory (it's been years since I've heard this song). I was playing in the Key of G, doing Am>C>D. Now I'm gonna have to relearn this. Thanks for the lesson.

Ditto my man!👍
Thats cause he knows good music
