- Laughter is often said to be the best medicine, and in the face of adversity, it can feel like a superpower. Beyond its ability to lighten the mood, humor plays a significant role in helping us navigate life’s challenges. Psychologically, laughter acts as a tool for cognitive reframing, allowing us to reinterpret difficulties in a way that feels less overwhelming. Biologically, it triggers the release of endorphins, our body’s natural painkillers, while simultaneously lowering cortisol levels to reduce stress. Together, these effects create a sense of calm and control, even in the midst of chaos.
Through Diya’s own experiences with pain and setbacks, she has come to realize how humor can transform even the heaviest challenges into something lighter and more manageable. In this piece, she will share how laughter helped her through one of the toughest times in her life, turning pain into connection and showing her the resilience hidden within.
