Now retired and living a long way from anything Navy, this is one of the evolutions I miss being able to participate very much. Sang alone with the video (wife says I still can't carry a note. heh)
Yeah sometimes at a joint command the other branches will ask to participate. I saw a few Marines in there as well, definitely more mixed than any pinning I've been to.
There's a bunch of us. Any location where the Navy works interchangeably (or at least very closely) with joint counterparts will have a couple each year. Specops, Medical, Intel/Cyber, etc. Good example is Haunama Bay where REDHORSE are stationed with SEABEES.
@@USNavyMC You have no idea how much different! I attended a young Chief select's pinning the other day. No more kangaroo court, no drinking, no truth serum, no strippers. I thought it was more of a religious service.

Heck yeah Master Chief! Long live Navy Cyberspace!
I remember those days
Nice. Curious about the presence of the Airmen?
Most likely someone who is assigned to a Navy command. They join them in seasoning and pinning traditions.

Looks like the Spruance Auditorium at the Naval War College.

I am so glad I was "properly" initiated as a Chief back in '82. Thank you Lord!
I’m sure it was much different 40 years ago.

@@gunndish Sounds wild! And back then you were literally "pinned" the rank on.
@@USNavyMC A day I shall never forget!
@@gunndish thank you for your service!
Anchors Aweigh my boys, it is gone, the Navy, it is just an employer today, looks like a co-ed Softball Team roster in la-la land.
Now, don’t let that anchor get to your head. You were once a blue shirt.
I see the fat boy progam isn't working
They’re off key the entire time.
